Alistar's offers strong durability strong crowd control and sustain (triumphant roar). during the laning phase as Ashe. Alistars utimate unbreakable will helps when executing dives/engages or soaking up damage for his allies to escape harm.
The downsides to Alistar are his has a weak level 1, and if he misses his dash/knock up combo, it could save the enemy hit from harm.
Amumu
Amumu has excellent tools to help you snowball (bandage toss & curse of the sad mummy) effectively and give you a gold lead on your opponent. After he immobilizes a target follow up with your frost shot or enchanted crystal arrow for a quick takedown.
Should he miss or not activate them in time you could be caught out in a bad spot.
Bard
Bard is excellent for healing totems, and his ultimate ability can place you in stasis to protect you from harm. One of the main challenges when playing alongside Bard is noticing his roaming behaviour. It's essential to communicate with him to establish a plan of attack. This way, you can safely return to base or survive while he searches for his meeps.
Blitzcrank
Blitzcrank, when using rocket grab, makes it much easier to isolate your target, making it much easier for you to eliminate them. After he knocks them up with a power fist or silences them with his static field (ultimate), those are your main windows for aggression or access to safe peeling.
If he misses a rocket grab, fall back until he has it up again.
Brand
Brand is your typical glass cannon burst mage, offering no utility but, in exchange, provides a way to chip down the enemy as you fight. Whenever you see Brand stun an enemy, that is your best time to follow up with auto attacks, volleys or an enchanted crystal arrow.
The biggest downside to Brand is that conflagration (e) can spread to enemy champions when used on nearby lane minions, so it's best to coordinate with him on that so you can avoid losing too many minions.
Braum
Braum and Ashe are what you'd call a perfect pairing, as she can trigger the passive effect of his concussive blows fast with her high attack speed. Braum is great for shielding her from harm with e or granting her additional armor or magic resistance with w. Lastly, Braum can provide added peel when activating his ultimate, which also helps to set up an enchanted crystal arrow.
The only pitfall to consider with Braum is not trying to space too far away from him; otherwise, he won't be able to jump to you with his w.
Galio
Galio is a strong tank that is rarely chosen as a support champion. His [w] shield of durand allows him to gather multiple opponents together or isolate a single target. Additionally, his [e] justice punch effectively knocks up an enemy, making it easier to chase them down.
It would be wise to fall back and regroup with your team if he over-commits and fails to gather targets.
Janna
Janna has excellent peeling and sustain tools at your disposal. Her abilities make it easier for you to run down your opponents and collect takedowns for the team.
If Janna fails to hit a target or shoves an enemy away with her ultimate, it could affect the outcome of the team fight.
Karma
Karma is a strong support option for Ashe. With added effects, she can empower all her abilities: q gets an enhanced slow, her w grants her a self-heal on contact, and her e-shield empowers all her nearby allies instead of one ally. It's great when looking to peel you out and set up kills in the lane.
Leona
Leona has plenty of ways to make laning easier for Ashe. With [q], she can stun the opponent, root them with her [e], and immobilize them with [r] stun/slow). All these tools make it easier for her to peel for you and save you from ganks or near-death situations.
So always look to get Leona if you need a tank in the lane.
Lulu
Lulu provides you excellent crowd control and durability in team fights and the laning phase. She can slow down the enemies with Pix, cast a polymorph spell on the enemy, increase your movement/attack speed and provide extra shielding.
She also provides a knock-up with wild growth (increasing your health and slowing nearby enemies).
Lux
Lux's Q and E abilities are great tools for you to utilize. They will enable you to approach the lane and farm comfortably. If she lands her Q, it creates a significant opportunity for both of you to use your ultimates together for improved team fight lockdown.
While she isn't the most synergistic support for Ashe she can still be a very strong asset in lane dominance.
Maokai
Maokai's strengths are his q knockback ability plus the roots he has access to from his w and r. His saplings serve as excellent scouting tools, protecting ganks as long as they remain active. If he successfully locks down a target with either his W or ultimate, activating your enchanted crystal arrow can further immobilize the affected target.
The downside to Maokai is that he could save an enemy from harm should he shove his target in the wrong direction with his q or activate his ultimate too late, and it doesn't grab anyone.
Milio
Milio provides healing, shielding, and a skill shot that stuns or knocks back enemies. His ultimate removes most crowd control effects, except airborne ones.
He is an excellent support choice for Ashe when healing and shielding are needed, especially against teams with heavy crowd control.
Morgana
Morgana is a dot mage support with excellent crowd control. Her [q] immobilizes enemies, [w] inflicts damage over time, [w] offers a protective black shield that blocks magic damage and crowd control, and [r] can stun and root foes if they stay close enough.
Morgana's kit helps chip away at opponents and enhances snowballing potential.
Nami
Nami's healing and damage are potent when compared to other enchanter supports. Her (q) can isolate one or multiple targets and heal you with her (w), and tidecaller's blessing (e) on you pairs exceptionally well with Ashe's frost shot passive. Her knock-up from tidal wave (r) will also help to connect your enchanted crystal arrow to your desired target.
Nautilus
Nautilus is an excellent support champion to have with Ashe. His crowd control abilities—Staggering Blows (Passive), his slow from Riptide (E), and catching potential from Dredge Line (Q)—help maximize damage to targets. Additionally, his ultimate ability, Depth Charge (R) (helpful as a peel tool or to isolate a target), provides an effective setup for an enchanted crystal arrow.
Neeko
Neeko is a strong mage support for Ashe. She has only two displacement abilities—Tangle Barbs ([E]) and Pop Blossom ([R])—whose animations can be concealed while in stealth thanks to her passive ability, Inherent Glamour ([P]). It's important to pay attention to her positioning so you can follow up if she successfully lands her abilities.
If Neeko misses either ability, you should disengage and wait for her cooldowns to refresh.
Pantheon
A point-click stun with his [w], blocks damage with his [e], and pokes enemies with his [q]—Pantheon can do it all. After he hits his [w], be ready to follow up and punish the enemy.
Poppy
Another strong support pick for Ashe. With Poppy's ability to lock down targets, slowing them with your auto attacks or isolating them with an enchanted crystal arrow is much easier. She can neutralize champions with dashes and leaps with steadfast presence. Poppy can also create space by activating her ultimate keeper's verdict, sending nearby targets away from your current location.
Pyke
When you have Pyke as your duo partner, he will pull enemies back to you with his Q, stun them using his E, and set up kills for you. Once he acquires his ultimate, then he has even more kill pressure. If Pyke secures a kill with his ultimate and you assist with the takedown, you'll receive gold as well.
Both of you will benefit from his passive income and accumulate wealth together.
Rakan
Rakan is a versatile support champion with a diverse set of abilities. He provides healing to either himself or allies if he hits enemies with his Q ability, knocking them up with his W, providing two shields using his E, and charming opponents with his R, allowing them to stick close to priority targets.
Rakan has the tools to execute impressive plays while also dealing damage in both duels and team fights.
Rell
Rell offers excellent peel for Ashe when looking to keep close to your targets and trigger your frost shot on them. Rell can stun enemies with her [q], knock them up/stun them with [w] depending on which form she's in, provide additional mobility and damage with her [e] and keep priority targets close after she activates her [r].
Renata Glasc
Renata's passive resembles the Imperial Mandate, granting a burst of damage when the mark is activated. She can use a hook projectile to grab enemies, provide shielding, and offer extra mobility and attack speed. Her [w] can keep you alive if an enemy kills you while active, giving you the ability to kill an enemy champion as your health depletes. If a takedown happens during the depletion, then you'll be saved.
Her ultimate help to cluster enemies, making it easier to hit them with your volley or when looking to isolate a target with auto-attacks.
Senna
With Senna being a marksman, she isn't the most durable option to consider, though she has valuable qualities you can use. With her [q], she can poke at the enemy and heal you at the same time; her [w] locks down enemies, and her [e] provides self-peel; finally, her [r] provides shielding to allies.
As far as synergy, her auto attacks do slow targets, allowing you to stay close to them. She's by no means a bad option for keeping you healthy and provides a good setup for your kit and ultimate.
Seraphine
Seraphine is similar to Sona in concept, but she has a different style of poke with her Q ability. While her W ability doesn't heal as much, it does offer shielding in critical situations. When paired with Ashe, Seraphine's beat drop will apply the root, (that normally occurs from it being empowered) anytime you apply frost shot.
Always be mindful of when she casts encore as you can then use enchanted crystal arrow to isolate a target.
Shen
Shen provides excellent crowd control and survivability for Ashe. He can shield you from basic attacks with [w] spirit's refuge and taunt nearby enemies with [e] shadow dash. He can protect you with his [r] stand united when near death or when setting up a flank.
When Shen taunts any nearby targets, using volley or crystal arrow could secure the fight in your favor.
Sona
Sona is your classic healer with good poke and strong sustain for you and her. The ability to make you faster and healthier means she is invaluable to your survival in the lane. Her r synergies nicely with yours, so time them accordingly for massive damage.
Soraka
She is a strong ally who can quickly heal teammates, but using her [w] ability costs her some of her own health. If she damages an enemy, her Q ability lets her heal herself. She can heal others with her [w] ability and her global [r] ability. Make sure to watch her health before fights to keep her safe while she heals you.
Swain
Swain possesses two key abilities that enable him to disrupt enemies during fights. His [W] ability slows down enemies, and his [E] ability can stop them from moving. These skills are helpful for either eliminating opponents or making a safe escape from a fight.
Swain also deals a lot of damage, making him a strong support champion. He can help his team stay in position during battles, which can lead to winning team fights.
Tahm Kench
Tahm Kench serves as an effective support champion for Ashe. Tongue lash and abyssal dive help protect Ashe and set up her attacks, such as her volley or enchanted crystal arrow. Devour (his ultimate) shields Ashe from damage, including basic attacks, abilities, and crowd control effects. If he devours an enemy, coordinate with him to deal damage when the enemy is released.

Thresh

His ultimate ability creates a special box that traps enemies inside, slowing them down. It makes an excellent opportunity for Ashe to use her skills against them!
Vel'Koz
With his impressive burst damage and disruptive crowd control, he truly excels at helping his Ashe secure kills with ease, whether it's through a powerful volley or an enchanted crystal arrow.
In addition, you can farm relatively safely with his high burst poke and assist him nicely during fights.
Xerath
Xerath may not be the best choice for a supporting character in the game, but he can deal a lot of damage during fights. Since he doesn’t have many abilities to control opponents, it’s essential to stay close to him so you can target enemies that he stuns or slows down.
His abilities to control the battlefield can help set up powerful attacks or finish off opponents during team fights and skirmishes.
Yuumi
Yuumi provides buffs: extra on-hit magic damage ([q]), on-hit healing ([w]), and shielding ([e]) when attached.
While not the best support for Ashe, she helps maintain health during long fights or skirmishes.
Zilean
Zilean can increase Ashe's likelyhood of locking down her target due to the combination of her frost shot and the increased mobility from his [e] time warp. He also provides you with faster levelling and a mobile guardian angel to get you out of sticky situations.
The only downside to Zilean would be if he were to ult you too soon or not speed you up with his [e] before getting locked down by the enemy.
Zyra
While not the best synergy for Ashe, there are still strong points to bank on. Zyra has two primary sources of crowd control ([e] grasping roots and [r] stranglethorns), which help lock down the enemy, making it that much easier to land a volley or enchanted crystal arrow.
If she misses either crowd control abilities, it would be wise to back off and reassess the situation.

As a marksman player in bot lane, I have extensive knowledge of the champion Ashe and can provide insight into how she functions. Throughout this guide, I will delve deeper into her team setup and itemization options.
My tips and suggestions can enhance your gameplay with Ashe.
So, without further ado, let's begin with my guide on Ashe - The Frost Archer.
Specialties: Sustained Damage, Ranged Why choose Ashe?:
• She has an easy-to-learn kit with straightforward combos and mechanics.
• Strong team fight presence and is very impactful for lane pressure and also strong at getting objectives ( atakhan, baron nashor, dragons or turrets).
• Potential to carry the game, and make big plays.
I always enjoy taking her on the rift when playing league matches, and I hope you will, too.
Frost Shots slowing effect can be increased by critical strike damage (amplified further with Infinity Edge), increasing the amount of damage applied by follow-up basic attacks.
Frost Shot also makes farming for individual minions easier; therefore, try attacking once when the minion is less than half healthy and once again immediately after.
| Cost: 75 / 70 / 65 / 60 / 55 Mana | Cooldown: 18 / 14.5 / 11 / 7.5 / 4 | Cast Time: 0.25 | Target Range: 1,500 - center range / 1,440 - edge range | Width: 20 | Angle: 27.75o / 37.5o / 46.25o (full cone at 1, 2/3, 4/5 respectively) / 4.625o (angle between each missile) | Speed: 2,000 |
The easiest and most reliable way to spread Ashe's Frost Shot to multiple targets. Firing it immediately after a basic attack will allow Ashe to fire off another attack faster than if she were to wait between attacks.
Hawkshot is an effective scouting tool that can sometimes be much safer than wards. It functions similarly to Farsight Alteration, where you can scout faraway territory without risk.
Using the vision from Hawkshot, you can track the enemy jungler's position, including their available camps. While it's effective at locating the jungler, it's also helpful when scouting out incoming, fleeing, and hidden enemies on the rift. Hawkshot also helps determine if the enemy is starting neutral objectives so you can enact a plan to contest or to give it.
Enchanted Crystal Arrow
| Cost: 100 Mana | Cooldown: 100 / 80 / 60 | Cast Time: 0.25 | Range: Global | Effect Radius: 400 (radius of explosion) / 350 sight radius of missile | Width: 260 Global | Speed: 1,500 – 2,100 |
Enchanted Crystal Arrow allows Ashe to isolate the first champion hit (at a global range), causing them to be stunned (based on duration).
Even though the stun duration isn't as effective at close range it can sometimes help you dodge enemy attacks and potentially get you to a safe distance or allow for an ally to reach your position in time to save you or kill the target you've hit.
When attacking at range, try to guess where your target will go and aim there instead of aiming directly over where they are standing. Doing so increases the chances of landing a hit.
Combos:
In this section, I will share some of the effective combos for Ashe that are simple to understand and that you can apply while playing summoners rift (draft and ranked) games.

Tips & Tricks:
Playing As Ashe:
• Ashe has no offensive power to succeed independently, so stick with the team when they start to group up.
• Ashe's kiting ability is her only defence, so be wary of invasions and sudden signs of engagement.
• It's best to focus on one target since Ashe's Frost Shot becomes very powerful when accumulated.
Playing Against Ashe:
• Ashe has few defensive options, so she's an easy target to attack.
• Ashe has unparalleled kiting ability with Frost Shot; a fast approach will prevent you from getting slowed.
• Since Ashe relies on basic attacks for most of her damage output, tanks that can build a Thornmail should itemize it if possible.
• Enchanted Crystal Arrow is deadly if caught in it, but it is pretty easy to avoid. Walking in a straight path makes you easier to target; instead, it makes erratic movement patterns harder for her to predict where you'll go.
• Be wary of skirmishing when you cannot account for a surprise Enchanted Crystal Arrow.
Playing With Ashe as Support:
• Ashe's secondary role is support; bringing her along while you're taking objectives will greatly reinforce your advances.
• Protecting Ashe during a fight will enable her to lock down oppressive enemies and lay down some zoning control.
When playing Ashe, you must understand your primary objectives for each game stage. Keeping this in mind can make all the difference in your performance. I will outline the things to focus on/consider at each game stage.
Early game: Your primary focus should be to farm minions, earning as much gold & experience as possible to acquire your core items while also getting ahead in your matchup.
Setting up a freeze (holding the minions just outside your turret) or trading with the enemy can ultimately deny them gold & experience.
Another good tip is to ward often, which helps to avoid overextending into being dived on by the enemy jungle.
Mid-game: By now, you should be gathering with your team and focusing on fighting to secure objectives such as baron nashor, rift herald or dragon. If there is a chance to grab waves or neutral camps, do so only if you know the enemy's position since getting ambushed while trying to farm can mean certain death for you.
Late game: If your games reach this stage, you'll want to be with your team at all times since you are vulnerable on your own (unless you have an item advantage on the enemy), Grabbing dragon soul, elder dragon & baron nashor are essential to close out the game if ahead, also make sure to deny your opponent these objectives.
Things to consider:
Before prioritizing early objectives like dragons, one must consider the potential dangers of wandering around the map:
• Do I get any kills or objectives when roaming?
• What outcomes could occur during the roam?
• Do I come out ahead or not?
If a team fight erupts during your games, always consider what you'll gain from it, meaning will you impact the outcome of the battle or objective, or does your team come out on top without you being there?
When deciding to enter combat with Ashe, you should be mindful of where you are during the fight (positioning) and be aware of where the enemy is when attempting to engage with your abilities ( Volley, Enchanted Crystal Arrow).
An integral summoner spell for Ashe, taking 100% of the time in all your games. Another reason it's necessary is that if you get caught out and can't quickly escape, you can Flash to safety or dodge a crucial ability from the opponent.
Secondary Options
Barrier is helpful for Ashe, providing added protection from damaging spells/auto attacks. It is also beneficial against foes who use stealth as their form of engagement, where Exhaust would be unable to hit them before damage is applied. Champions that it would be useful against are Akali, Kha'Zix, Lux, Shaco, Twitch or Xerath].
If you are under the effect of damage over time, attack speed reduction, armor shredding or grievous wound effects, Cleanse will not remove them.
Note that you can only activate this spell after theimmobilizing status has been applied to you, not beforehand.
Exhaust is helpful for Ashe against champions who could take you down quickly, such as Draven, Katarina, LeBlanc or Master Yi. It is also great to use on targets for whom you want to slow down or reduce their incoming damage.
Grants % movement speed, helping enter or attempt to exit a fight. It is efficient while fighting ranged foes or against champions you'd need assistance with. Excellent when paired with mobility items ( Zeal options) for more chasing potential.
With the ability to avoid colliding with friendly minions, you can dodge a scary situation if you use Ghost to escape combat.
A solid option for Ashe, providing early-game sustain and movement speed, which can be helpful to escape skill shots or get you and a teammate out of a jam.
The downside is that subsequent Heal spells applied to you cause them to be less effective; therefore, avoid it should your support get it. If you both take it, coordinate them appropriately for the best results.
Stealth Ward is your main trinket in all games as Ashe, revealing a target location and granting sight of the enemy. With the ability to place up to three Stealth Wards on the rift, you'll gain more vision around crucial regions. A good choice when side laning/creating deep vision zones in enemy territory or having sightlines on objectives ( baron nashor & dragons).
Farsight Alteration
Farsight Alteration is very helpful when split pushing, getting deep vision on objectives or target locations from a safe distance. Effective when side laning (similar to the Stealth Ward), but unlike Stealth Wards, they are visible to the enemy and fragile, meaning they will die the instant they are spotted.
When removing enemy vision from the map, always consider buying Control Wards. They function similarly to the Oracle Lens trinket, dealing with stealth & camouflaged based champions ( Evelynn, Rengar, Senna and Twitch) that approach them. Just be mindful that Control Wards don’t affect champions who possess invisibility in their kits ( Akali, Kha'Zix, Teemo or Wukong), therefore be mindful of their position in combat.
When returning to the fountain, do your best to acquire one or two if you have spare gold.
• Attack Damage: An essential stat to acquire for Ashe. It improves all your auto attacks and damaging abilities (excluding Enchanted Crystal Arrow) and gives you more power in fights.
• Attack Speed: A powerful stat to acquire in each game. Efficient on Ashe when dueling (scales with Lethal Tempo, helps stack Ranger's Focus faster) and helpful at keeping targets slown down by Frost Shot.
• Life Steal: Excellent stat to have on Ashe for added sustain in combat. Very efficient when applied through auto attacks &on-hit effects (applied by Ranger's Focus).
• Omni Vamp: We have limited item options when buying omni vamp, but it's still useful for healing on Ashe.
• Health: Great for extra durability/survivability, making it harder to kill you in combat. It's not heavily prioritized as a marksman since tanks are the main outliers of health; therefore, it's not prioritized over any other stat listed. However, it's still an acceptable option in the right situation on Ashe.
• Ability Haste: Not a stat we focus on as Ashe. In certain instances (playing Ashe as support), it can provide some value if you plan on casting Volley or Enchanted Crystal Arrow more often in combat. Otherwise, we'll skip it.
• Armor/Magic Resistance: Effective when dueling Assassin champions or when you need some added survivability in combat, but it's not something you should aim for otherwise.
• Movement Speed: Great for kiting and escaping fights, but not as prioritized when compared with other stats listed above.
Berserker's Greaves > Attack Speed Berserker's Greaves are the best option when playing as Ashe. They give you plenty of attack speed needed to trade, farm, and offer the best potential in team fights and provide consistent damage against objectives such as turrets/ baron nashor or dragons.
Gunmetal Greaves > Berserker's Greaves feats of strength upgrade Gunmetal Greaves offers increased attack Speed, while also providingon-hit mobility for increased kiting potential.
Boots of Swiftness > Slow Reduction Boots of Swiftness are effective when dealing with teams with slowing effects. They can vary from sources such as Rylai's Crystal Scepter/ Serylda's Grudge, or other movement impairing slowing effects that would leave you vulnerable and make it hard for you to escape combat.
Swiftmarch > Boots of Swiftness feats of strength upgrade
With Swiftmarch, grant increased damage based on a portion of your total mobility. The increased base mobility can help roam to objectives and fights faster or help with improving kiting from skill shots or dangerous abilities.
Since Zeal or Rectrix items offer increased mobility, having them with Swiftmarch can be a way to earn extra damage in fights.
Mercury's Treads > Magic Resistance & Tenacity
Ifcrowd control could impair your survivability and you can't afford to bring Cleanse, I recommend these Boots for tenacity and magic resistance. Potent against teams who are magic damage heavy.
Chainlord Crushers > Mercury's Treads feats of strength upgrade
With Chainlaced Crushers, you'll gain increased shielding that blocks magic damage and great against burst or dot mage comps.
Plated Steelcaps > Basic Attack Damage Reduction Plated Steelcaps is best taken against teams that stack physical damage. A great damage reduction tool against heavy auto-attack-based opponents or when you need extra armor in combat.
Armored Advance > Plated Steelcaps feats of strength upgrade Armored Advance functions similarly to Chainlaced Crushers. In contrast, you'll gain increased shielding that blocks any incoming physical damage you receive in combat.
To acquire the feats of strength buff, you'll need to complete any two of the following actions during your games:
• Killing three epic monster camps
• Acquiring first blood
• Destroying the first turret
Upon claiming the buff, you can purchase the upgrade to the Boots you are currently using in combat.
If you are dealing with poke matchups where you must be more patient, take a slower approach, or need the extra health/healing to sustain longer in the early fight and skirmishes, I would consider Doran's Blade.
Core Items
Deals % current health damage, steals movement speed, and provide some added sustain. When paired with otheron-hit items ( Runaan's Hurricane & Kraken Slayer), or as a standalone is a great option to consider when shredding tanks and certain squishy champions.
Infinity Edge helps to amplify the effect of Ashe's Frost Shot, increasing your overall damage against targets who are affected by it. Once acquired, it's an insane power spike for Ashe in most games.
Yun Tal Wildarrows helps Ashe by providing attack speed (improving the effectiveness of Ranger's Focus) and stacking critical strike chance. A solid purchase for Ashe that improves her trading potential in duels or team fights.
Situational Items
Black Cleaver helps to reduce the target's armor, increasing the damage they take from you and your allies while providing you with increased mobility. Ashe can apply it with Ranger's Focus.
An excellent sustain option for Ashe, allowing you to heal during and after combat. With Bloodthirster's high life steal rating, and additional shielding, you'll maintain pressure on the map and be a significant threat.
It provides Ashe with a necessary revive to stay alive longer while carrying in the game. Be mindful that dying in a large crowd means being swarmed after resurrecting; therefore, be cautious when engaging in team fights and skirmishes.
Kraken Slayer is a powerful option for Ashe when taking extended trades with the enemy. Provides additional physical damage, increasing strength as you strike the same target. It's a solid rush option for early-game combat (duels or skirmishes).
Lord Dominik's Regards is a great % armor penetration option to purchase on Ashe that's effective against champions that stack armor or who possess high armor ratings ( Malphite or Rammus).
An excellent bruiser item option for Ashe, providing a magic shield, and healing until the end of combat.
An excellent choice into champions with heavy dot damage ( Brand, Rumble & Teemo) or have strong magic damage output that threaten your survival.
Phantom Dancer is a strong option for Ashe, granting an on-attack ghosting effect in combat. Helpful by providing more dueling potential in extended trades and skirmishes.
Having Statikk Shiv on Ashe lets you poke from a distance and trim down minion waves, giving you more agency in the lane for roams and arriving at team fights/skirmishes sooner. With this added poke, you can gain a small advantage against opponents with low wave clear, such as Draven, Ezreal, Samira or Vayne.
Terminus, comparatively to other armor penetration options, grants Ashe mixed penetration while also increasing durability during combat. A potential answer to strong assassin or bruiser champions such as Akali, LeBlanc, Nocturne, Talon or Zed.
Trinity Force is a practical utility pick-up for Ashe when looking for increased damage, mobility and kiting potential. Since Ashe can effortlessly intertwine Volley casts and auto attacks, you'll consistently apply its passive effect in combat.
Elixirs
With Elixir of Wrath, you'll have more damage at your disposal while also acquiring physical vamp, healing based on all physical damage you deal to enemy champions. A very efficient sustain option for Ashe to acquire before an important dragon/ baron nashor fight or once you have reached full build.
The following keystone and rune choices are great for Ashe and will complement her in combat. Always pay attention to the enemy team comp, plus your item builds when selecting your runes to get the most value in each game.
- Press the Attack greatly enhances Ashe's attacks and abilities, making it effective for long trades, duels, and skirmishes, as it deals bonus damage when active. It is an excellent choice when paired with all-in support champions like Braum, Leona, Nautilus, Taric, or Thresh.
- Cheap Shot is excellent for Ashe, dealing bonus true damage upon damaging a target afflicted with crowd control effects. Since Frost Shot counts towards this bonus damage, you'll have increased dueling pressure and more upfront damage (during each trigger). It is an excellent secondary rune to select when running Domination.
- When looking for a decent sustain option for Ashe, look no further than Taste of Blood, healing you upon damaging an enemy champion. It's a very effective rune option for early and mid-game sustain.
- Grisly Mementos is an excellent way for you to stay safe as Ashe, as the added trinket haste provided will allow you to keep key areas warded more often. It helps anticipate increasing the likelihood of spotting enemy dives or flanks sooner.
In non-rift games (ex Aram, Arena), you have summoner spell haste instead.
- Ultimate Hunter is strong for Ashe because it allows you to activate Enchanted Crystal Arrow more often when looking to close the gap between you and her targets. It is beneficial for increased pressure/dominance in team fights and skirmishes.
- Magical Footwear allows Ashe to delay building Boots so that you can focus on getting your core items sooner. Once added, gain extra movement speed in your current pair of Boots purchased.
- Biscuit Delivery helps gain extra sustain after trades and skirmishes while also increasing max health per biscuit. It's a key Inspiration rune for Ashe players aiming to survive the laning phase and get to the late game.
- Approach Velocity is a staple rune for Ashe, granting you movement speed toward any nearby targets affected by crowd control or even Frost Shot. Great at closing the distance with targets who you are chasing.
- Triumph can be very useful for Ashe, restoring health and providing additional gold. It is helpful when looking for extra sustain and faster item purchases after securing takedowns.
- Presence of Mind is an excellent way to refresh your mana reserves in combat, and should you score a takedown, you'll gain a portion of your maximum mana. It's a great choice when running Precision and ensures you can cast your abilities before/during a new fight or skirmish breaks out.
- With Legend: Alacrity on Ashe, you'll have more uptime with your auto attacks, allowing for more pressure and consistent damage output in fights. It provides excellent dueling pressure and gives Ashe a significant increase to her single target damage.
- The life steal from Legend: Bloodline is low early on and builds up nicely into the late game. It is helpful for Ashe against poke lanes or added early-game sustain. It is an excellent option in duels and skirmishes/team fights.
- Coup de Grace for Ashe increases our damage against low-health targets with all our damage sources. Our team fight and skirmishing power became much stronger with this enhanced damage.
- With Cut Down, damage is increased against your target(s) above half of their max health. It's a strong choice for tanker targets and adds value to late-game skirmishes and team fights.
- Absolute Focus increases Ashe's all-around pressure in fights and duels, which is excellent when looking for more aggressive trades. To maintain the added damage gained, ensure you have sustained healing from Blade of the Ruined King, Bloodthirster or other healing sources.
- Gathering Storm is effective for Ashe by increasing your overall damage (autos and abilities) against targets, scaling indefinitely—a great scaling rune option for games you know will last long.
When choosing between offensive or defensive rune shards for Ashe, you need to keep in mind certain factors to make the right decision.
Offensive Shards
• Do you require extra attack speed? Very helpful on Ashe for improved trading and dueling, while also increasing farming effeciency.
• Do you need additional adaptive force? Since adaptive force shards convert into extra attack damage, this makes it an appealing choice in all games as Ashe on the rift.
• Do you require ability haste? As Ashe, we don't value it as heavily since we focus more on auto attacks as our main source of damage; therefore, it's best to avoid it.
Defensive Shards
• Do you need more movement speed? Extra mobility has benefits for Ashe, but due to her auto attacks slowing her targets, we wouldn't get much value with this shard option.
• Do you need tenacity & slow resist? While reducing the durations ofimmobilizing effects is excellent in the grand scheme, the value provided isn't significant enough for a marksman, it's best to skip the option as Ashe.
• Do you need health? With two health options at your disposal, knowing which one to take as Ashe is crucial to your survivability. For longer games, the scaling health shard is a good choice. On the other hand, if you are looking for a more early or mid game option, the flat health shard is more suitable. Both options are valuable for Ashe.
Always pay attention to the team compositions you are fighting when mixing and matching the rune shards listed above with your Boots and items. It's a sure way to improve your overall survivability in games.
There are many ways to build Ashe, but hopefully, I've made it easier for you to understand what abilities/items and runes work well together and how to make the most of her kit.
