Introduction
Let's get started on the main guy of this guide shall we?

He's a top laner and a very situational jungle (almost NEVAR).
Bot lane for noobs.

Pros:
Can take down more than half of enemiy champion's health in early game in under 3 seconds
Good Movement Speed
AWESOME SILENCING!!!
Farming OP
Tank to the TANK
FINISH HIM
Great early game

Easy to pick up and great for pros, smurfs, and beginners!!!

Cons:

No good CC
Meh Late Game Scaling
Meh to Meh Intiation
Hey Hey Hey, take notes little boys and girls.
or
Pretty good passive, hide in the brush, heal a bit without pots, and jump back into battle. What else!? Wait 9 seconds for it to reactivate and hover over the icon in your skill bar to see how much you're regenerating every 5 seconds with this passive ONLY. It does not count item passive health regeneration.
Well let's see, best level 1 silence, good chasing, the initiator of the 3- seconds half health dealer, can save your teammate from horrible doom, etc. Yeah, it's pretty good. It comes after
Judgment, get it at level 2. Better for late-mid game. It even works on turrets and inhibitors(but oddly not the nexus, huh)!!! It ALSO breaks you free from any slowing you have on you, when activated. Stacks with your awesome
Frozen Mallet.
Ok, this is a great defense move. Reduces CC AND damage dealt by anything(even turrets). I've soloed turrets without taking very much damage before due to this ability. It also saves you from being caught dead or dying from CC or just regular ol' damage.
Your farming tool. Your Early Game Killer. The 2nd part of the 3- second half health dealer.
It gets weaker and weaker, but is super strong early game and farms minions great anytime! Does not stack with your awesome
Frozen Mallet :(
Your finisher, the ultimate finisher in the GAME. Better than, yes,
Darius ultimate if done right. It doesn't offer cooldown like his, but you can probably FINISH HIM after he's been attacked at low health.
Uhhhh something like this should work:
Level 1 20% - 30%
Level 2 30% - 40%
Level 3 40% - 50%
Maybe a little over exaggerated, but oh well, try to go to the low ends of my scale; they almost always work ;P

Well let's get started =D
= movement
Zeke's Herald= enemies' movement/health
Zeke's Herald
= Life Steal
Zeke's Herald = CDR
= Critical Hit stuff
= Health Regen
What I didn't include:
AD, Unique Passives, Armor, MR
I think I don't really have to go into detail about any of these. They basically speak for themselves.
MUST REDO

Zeke's Herald

Zeke's Herald = CDR

If you want anything added, ask and I will debate on it.
Zeke's Herald
Um... Meep? It's ok, but there are better items.
Why does
Garen need lifesteal again? NO NEED DURRRR
The Lifestealing AOE on AAs. Well... I build
Darius and
Garen the exact same, so I GUESS it could work in a way. :P STILL NO NEED FOR LIFESTEAL!?!?!?!
Great for countering people like (supressers) -->
Malzahar
Warwick
Skarner etc.
Sunfire Aegis: Good item, forgot to include it, it deals damage to enemies next to you. YES PLEASE. Recommended by budapeste
Hmm, well Crit is nice, MORE crit damage is nice, recommended more than the lifesteal items.
If they have too much armor replace cleaver with this awesome penetration.
This is where the scimitar was... OK then moving text --> This item = CDR and MR for those champs that are owning you with MR and if you want some CDR on the side.
This is ALSO mr but with AD and a shield instead of CDR, really recommend both equally.
This is MR, health, health regen, and Armor combined in an aura for your whole team. You can get this even if your support has one as one aura is yours and the other is your support's and if no one got this, this can benefit your WHOLE team too, so it's pretty decent :)

Ok, so here's how it ALL goes down. In order of best to not as good and the one I didn't mention up there, no just NO!

Yes, I'd rather have

Note: Ok fine...

Well, we're finally here, time to see ALL the summoner spells!
This is something that bothers a LOT of people. They think hmm movement speed or a wall flash/etc? Well if you want me to go all into it, I probably will, but for now I'll just say this.
Ghost is for more extended chases/escapes and more straightforward;
Flash is for that little extra space to get in fast and take them out/flash over a wall to get away. It really depends on preference and what level you are. Usually on
Garen, I take
Ghost.
Note:
Ghost increases the movement speed bonus to 35% due to our
Summoner's Wrath
mastery.
Ignite: Miss your ult or it's on cooldown? Need that little more health dealt at the beginning? Idiot
Teemo who has low health comes back to harass? Well then!
Ignite IS PERFECT FOR YOU!!! It's that awesome finisher spell, which screws people over and into the floor. It's that spell that I usually take as a second one.
Note:
Ignite gives us an extra 5 AP and AD on cooldown due to our
Summoner's Wrath
mastery.
Exhaust: Want them to move slower? Want the AD units to hurt less? Want the items to hurt less? Well then, you want
Exhaust!!! It's a pretty awesome spell and if used right, shuts down the enemy.
Note:
Exhaust gives us also gives the enemy reduced armor and MR by 10 due to our
Summoner's Wrath
mastery.
Teleport: Want to split lane push? Want to get back in lane quicker? Want to surprise opponents by teleporting to wards, minions, and mushrooms? Then you want the
Teleport spell.
Heal: Pretty much a healing device for awesome people and new people, still awesome and heals people around you as well, remember that! It can also save you or an ally from certain doom. Go
Heal!
Clairvoyance: Not really suited to
Garen, but adds a nice low cooldown ward. I would only maybe neutrally recommend this.
Cleanse: Cures CC, can be life saving, but since you already have courage, I feel it's not very necessary, but it's still an option to think about.
Promote: Again not suited to
Garen, but an option. However, I think it's more suited to about supports and even not that much. One day I will post an awesome video on here about
Promote epicness shown to you. Of course not using
Garen.
Surge: I promised myself I will never doubt this again. One time, I was dominating and that damned
Teemo used
Surge, yeah i died dang it. We didn't lose our advantage, BUT I DIED!!!
Surge is a thing you want to think very much about, since we only care about the AS for regular situations and AP for our ult.
Note: The bonus of AS for
Surge is increased to 40% and AP is increased BY 10% due to our
Summoner's Wrath
mastery.
Smite: First off,
Garen is not a jungler. Second, the only useful things for this is early red buff/stealing blue buff(it still is a disadvantage, but
Garen only uses the CDR), soloing dragon faster and more safe, and helping with baron. This is more for your freaking jungler than you ok?
Revive: *Gag Gag* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. That is all
Clarity:
Garen doesn't use mana, only somewhat helpful to allies since your not a support, so *Ahem* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Barrier: When this comes out for everywhere that is not just the Proving Grounds, you can use this maybe. I would say more for the tank build.
Note:
Summoner's Resolve
makes
Barrier's CD reduced by 20 seconds.
Ok, since this is NOT a dominion guide(even though it works fine in dominion), I will not go over
Garrison. However, it will get a double the regular size icon.
Still Noted:
Summoner's Resolve
makes allied garrisoned turrets deal 50% splash damage.
