Updated Stats
GP top depends way too much on both junglers playstyles and the jungler matchup, i.e., incoming ganks and camps on the way. Since most matchups are more explosive, with more engage, you usually have to delay your Trinity Force to build Corrupting Potion, Doran's Blade/ Doran's Shield and boots (~2k), and you will need to go tankish since the midlaner will most likely be a damage dealer.

GP mid is way safer, with the disadvantage of losing the push in earlier levels for agressive mages like Ahri, Azir and Orianna. You can prioritize damage and CDR in most matchups though, which makes GP a team fight god if you can hit good barrel combos.

GP top depende demais tanto do estilo de jogo dos junglers quanto da matchup na jungle, isto é, prepare-se para ganks e camps. My biggest difficulty when playing GP is to maintain lane priority while not receiving unnecessary ganks, since the champion doesn't have any escape skill. Not only winning lane, but also having priority is extremely important to help your jungler have freedom to invade and gank other lanes.

With that said, I always try to prioritize laning phase, buying more starter items whenever needed to do so. Don't play beneath your turret last hitting while the rest of your team gets ****ed, unless you are obviously getting ganked without an answer on the other side of the map.
Learn wave management and save your ult to help your teammates - not only to get kills, but also to win fights and clear waves.

After so many nerfs, it's very delicate to play Gangplank properly without being harassed endlessly due to his abilities mana cost and cooldowns. Don't waste Parrrley to poke your ennemy if the rune you chose is in cooldown. Don't waste Parrrley in early levels to farm. Have in mind that harassing with Powder Keg will push the lane, and you could be punished for that if the enemy jungler is near and yours is not.
Try not to rely on your jungler to win your lane. He may have other plans or he could simply not know how to play the role. You shouldn't expect much from idiots.

Minha maior dificuldade ao jogar de GP é manter a prioridade da lane sem tomar ganks desnecessários, já que o campeão não tem nenhuma habilidade de fuga. Não só ganhar a lane, mas também ter prioridade de lane é extremamente importante para ajudar seu jungler a ter liberdade pra invadir e gankar outras lanes.

Dito isso, sempre tento priorizar essa fase, comprando mais itens iniciais sempre que necessário. Não jogue debaixo de sua torre dando last hit enquanto o resto do seu time se fode, a não ser que você esteja obviamente sendo gankado sem uma resposta do outro lado do mapa. Aprenda sobre controle de wave e guarde sua ult para ajudar seus aliados - não apenas para pegar kills, mas também para ganhar lutas e limpar waves.

Depois de tantos nerfs, é muito delicado jogar de Gangplank apropriadamente sem ser punido interminavelmente devido ao custo de mana e tempo de recarga de suas habilidades. Não gaste Parrrley para pokear seu inimigo se a runa que escolheu está em cooldown. Não gaste Parrrley nos níveis iniciais para farmar. Tenha em mente que dar dano com Powder Keg vai pushar (e não 'puxar') a lane e você pode ser punido por isso se o jungler inimigo estiver próximo e o seu não.
Tente n√£o confiar no seu jungler para ganhar sua lane. Ele pode ter outros planos ou simplesmente n√£o saber como jogar a role. N√£o se deve esperar muito de idiotas.

Choose TP whenever you want to rely on wave management and prioritize CSing over kills or when you simply can't kill the enemy laner.

I always pick ignite MID against fighters/assassins whose main objective is to keep pressuring, forcing trades and trying to kill you.

By far, the best choice against explosives matchups with constant trades or simply when you want more damage and sustain early game to pressure your opponent and help your jungler. It also allows you to get more gold destroying plates with Demolish. Watch out for ganks because you usually end up pushing the lane to keep it active.

Good against/Bom contra Riven, Aatrox, Irelia, Zed, Jax, Camille, LeBlanc, Yasuo, Fiora, Urgot, Katarina, Fizz...

De longe, a melhor escolha contra matchups explosivas com trocas constantes ou simplesmente quando você quer mais dano e sustain no começo do jogo para pressionar seu oponente e ajudar seu jungler. Também te permite pegar mais gold destruindo barricadas com o Demolish. Cuidado com ganks porque você normalmente acaba pushando a lane para manter a runa ativa.

Essential when playing mid against mages. In fact, the only option. You simply can't proc Grasp of the Undying against mages in high elo, unless they are short range. It gives you more damage, it increases your ultimate power, and you can also get Transcendence and run Glasscannon GP full CDR, crit, lethality.

Good against/Bom contra Azir, Malzahar, Veigar, Lux, Anivia, Syndra...

Essencial quando jogar mid contra magos. Na verdade, a √ļnica op√ß√£o. Voc√™ simplesmente n√£o consegue procar Grasp of the Undying contra magos no high elo, a n√£o ser que eles sejam short range. Get this setup if you are against fighters and want to build Trinity Force to compensate for the lack of Mana and CDR.

With the rework, GP doesn't have any more problems with mana in lane, and this allows you to get atk spd on the runes to compensate for the lack of it if you need to build Divine Sunderer

Second Wind is the best option against poke champions, such as Lucian, Quinn, Vayne and it stacks with Revitalize, while Bone Plating should be used against burst/engage, like most fighters. If in a comfortable matchup looking for scaling but still wanting the damage and sustain from Grasp of the Undying, pick Conditioning.

If you want to scale but not necessarily give up on damage and sustain, you can choose Minion Dematerializer to clean up the wave backline with one barrel+Q after buying Cull, Sheen, and 2 Long Swords, and get free boots with Magical Footwear.
If you want to trade more often, force kills or need extra sustain against hard matchups, you should pick Biscuit Delivery and Time Warp Tonic. The extra mov speed is also very helpful to get an extra Q and run.

Se você quer scalar mas não necessariamente perder dano e sustain, você pode escolher Minion Dematerializer para limpar a backline da wave com um barril+Q depois de comprar Cull, Sheen, e 2 Long Swords, e pegar botas de graça com Magical Footwear.

Each rune set is thoroughly explained above depending on lane and enemy champion. They are not an exact science per se, but if you understand how they work and adapt their choice to your playstyle, you can get the most out of them and pretty much win every lane, or at least stay even, which means winning for GP.

Cada runa é explicada meticulosamente acima dependendo da lane e do campeão inimigo. Runes Summary
GP absolutely needs a Sheen item to play the game. The coice of the completed item should be thought of as to be the most harmonic and effective considering both team comps. That's good news! Now with have at least 3 viable options for the Pirate!

When against assassins, ranged champions top, fighters and/or hard engage comps, and when your team lacks tanks/frontline, it's essential to build Divine Sunderer. It allows you to tank more in team fights/trades, have more sustain in lane and be more useful for your team overall.

This is my personal preference for toplane GP.

A possible build with this Mythic Item could be Ravenous Hydra/ Titanic Hydra to stack life and do more dps while tanking, Death's Dance for the armor, healing and mov speed, and Spirit Visage for the mr and increased healing for all sources. Sterak's Gage is also fine, as well as any other tank item. You can literally face tank the whole enemy team while doing damage. Demonic Embrace is a huge buy if your team doens't have AP and the ennemy team isn't mobile.

Good against Gnar, Lucian, Kled, Aatrox, Sett, Cho'Gath, Rumble, Sion, Volibear, Teemo, Jayce, Kayle, Ornn...

Quando estiver contra assassinos, campe√Ķes ranged no top, lutadores e/ou comps de hard engage, e quando seu time n√£o tiver tanks/frontline, √© essencial buildar Divine Sunderer. Te permite tankar mais em lutas/trocas, ter mais sustain em lane e ser mais √ļtil para o seu time de maneira geral.

Essa é a minha preferência pessoal para o GP top.

Uma possível build com esse item mítico poderia ser Ravenous Hydra/ Titanic Hydra para stackar vida e dar mais dps enquanto tanka, Death's Dance pela armadura, healing e velocidade de movimento, e Spirit Visage pelo mr e healing aumentado de todas as fontes. Sterak's Gage também é uma opção boa, assim como qualquer item de tank. Você literalmente consegue tankar o time inteiro enquanto dá dano. Demonic Embrace é uma compra ótima se seu time não tiver AP e o time inimigo for imóvel.

Best option to splitpush and snowball matchups against fighters, which will require the extra movement and attack speed to explode barrels, reset autos and kite them. It makes you very squishy, so depending on the enemy team, it's advised to build Sterak's Gage as second or third item. Chempunk Chainsword is also a must in most games. I personally don't see how this could be better than the other options for team fighting, considering GP doesn't fight stacking AA's in team fights, but rather exploding barrels and hitting a good ultimate. You can obviously build damage for GP, but in that case, I'd prefer option number 3: Crit ( Galeforce or Immortal Shieldbow) or Lethality ( Eclipse or Prowler's Claw) Mythic Item.

With that said, if you still want to build it, you can work your way with Ravenous Hydra, Sterak's Gage, Black Cleaver, Navori Quickblades, The Collector...

Good against Darius, Camille, Fiora, Jax, Wukong...

Melhor op√ß√£o para splitpush e para snowballar matchups contra lutadores, que exigir√£o a velocidade de movimento e de ataque extra para explodir barris, resetar autoataques e kitar eles. Te deixa muito squishy, ent√£o dependendo do time inimigo, √© aconselh√°vel buildar Sterak's Gage de segundo ou terceiro item. Chempunk Chainsword tamb√©m √© essencial na maioria dos jogos. Pessoalmente, eu n√£o vejo como isso pode ser melhor que as outras op√ß√Ķes para lutar team fights, considerando que o GP n√£o luta stackando AA's nas lutas, mas sim explodindo barris e acertando uma boa ultimate. Evidentemente, voc√™ pode buildar dano pra GP, mas nesse caso, eu preferiria a op√ß√£o n√ļmero 3: cr√≠tico ( Galeforce or Immortal Shieldbow) ou Letalidade ( Eclipse or Prowler's Claw) como item m√≠tico.

Options with Essence Reaver as Sheen item:

We finally have a dash to play with and actually use it to follow up a barrel combo, a gank, chase ennemies down or disengage in a fight without having to waste a 5 min cd spell! Great if you like to play as a caster and do tons of damage with barrels in team fights. If you want to use this Mythic Item, you'll need to buy Essence Reaver first thing. You need to be more careful with this playstyle since you'll be very squishy.

Surely good for a full damage build playstyle with an embedded shield instead of sterak's, meaning you have an extra slot for more crit/damage. A good build also has Navori Quickblades, The Collector and Infinity Edge to explode everyone.

Preferably in midlane. Good against Zed, Talon, Diana, Fizz, Anivia, Katarina, Ekko, Annie, Seraphine, Yone, Kassadin...

Finalmente temos um dash para jogar e realmente us√°-lo para acompanhar um combo de barril, um gank, perseguir inimigos ou fugir deles numa luta sem precisar gastar uma spell com 5 min de cd! √ďtimo se voc√™ gosta de jogar como mago e dar toneladas de dano com barris em team fights. Se voc√™ quiser usar isso como item m√≠tico, voc√™ precisa comprar Essence Reaver primeiro. Voc√™ precisa ser mais cuidadoso com esse estilo de jogo j√° que voc√™ vai ficar muito squishy.

Certamente bom para um estilo de jogo voltado para muito dano com um escudo embutido em vez da Sterak's Gage, o que significa que você terá um espaço extra para mais crítico/dano.
Uma boa build também tem Navori Quickblades, The Collector and Infinity Edge para explodir geral.

Lethality build. Shield and mov speed with only 2 attacks/spells - easy to proc it with GP, or a small dash that buffs all subsequent damage. A lot of damage against squishy comps that don't build armor.

Great with The Collector, Youmuu's Ghostblade and another crit item depending of the situation. Phantom Dancer for the early/mid game, shield, or Infinity Edge for the late game, raw damage.

Preferably mid against the same champions as the crit one.

Build de Letalidade. Escudo e velocidade de movimento com apenas 2 ataques/magias - f√°cil de procar com o GP, ou um dash curto que buffa o dano subsequente. Muito dano contra comps squishy que n√£o buildam armadura.

You can get almost +70 ad besides the extra 2.5% damage in autos and spells for 2.9k gold. Totally valid against comfortable matchups in which you want to scale such as Nasus, Garen, Udyr, Singed, Shen, Malphite,, Maokai, Dr. Mundo, Vladimir, Lulu, Soraka...
*It's also a great starter with Arcane Comet against mages in mid since you won't be able to stack Grasp of the Undying nor use the Corrupting Potion that often.

A must when playing against inconvenient matchups such as Rumble, Teemo, Mordekaiser, Kennen, Ryze, Orianna, Ahri. These champions have range, damage and mana advantage in early levels, so if you want to stay in lane and farm without being harrassed to the point of frustration, this is the way to go. It also increases your healing with divine surenderer, Remove Scurvy, Second Wind and Revitalize.

Extremamente necess√°rio contra matchups inconvenientes como Rumble, Teemo, Mordekaiser, Kennen, Ryze, Orianna, Ahri. Estes campe√Ķes tem vantagem de range, dano e mana nos n√≠veis iniciais, ent√£o, se voc√™ quiser ficar na rota e farmar sem ser pokeado at√© a frustra√ß√£o, este √© o caminho. Tamb√©m aumenta a sua cura com divine surenderer, Remove Scurvy, Second Wind e Revitalize.

If you had to choose one AP item, that would be it. It stacks with your ult and scorches your enemies in big team fights. No one will see that coming. They work great together if you haven't chosen a Mythic Item yet and your team lacks AP damage. Demonic Embrace is also excellent with Divine Sunderer as Mythic as it gives you more health and %pen.

Se você tivesse que escolher um item AP, seria este. Stacka com a sua ult e torra os seus inimigos em grandes team fights. Ninguém estará esperando. Eles funcionam maravilhosamente juntos se você ainda não tiver escolhido um item mítico ou se seu time precisa de dano mágico. Due to how the game is nowadays meta wise (items, champs, skills), it is very difficult to find a situation where the items below wouldn't fit. This is a generic and extremely versatile GP build. When in doubt, go for it, and adapt the rest of it according to the game!

Crit or Lethality?

Most asked question regarding GP's builds. [OLD, BUT THEORY STILL TRUE]
Lethality was introduced in League in 2017 to replace Flat Armor Penetration and its value increases with the target's level. With that said, Lethality items are good against squishy champions that won't build armor because your damage will ignore this flat/base value.

Crit items are good overall, but they are not that effective by themselves alone due to their crit chance, so you'll probably have to buy at least 2 to make them worth it.

And of course, you don't need to always choose one or another and go FULL CRIT or FULL LETHALITY. You can mix them and have both benefits.

Should I use Cannon Barrage to help my dearest allies?

Yes. To pick up some kills, to defend turrets, to clean up big waves, to contest objectives, to avoid dives. Otherwise, keep it to yourself.

Should I use Teleport to help my dearest allies?

Never before lvl 7 and Sheen. Use it to reset and go back to lane. If your enemy laner roams before that, compensate pushing the wave and getting some plates, invading and getting vision on jungler camps and entries.

To Q or not to Q? When to start farming Silver Serpents?

Don't worry about that in early levels. You are not playing Nasus. Just start focusing farming with Q after Sheen or when you realize mana is not a problem anymore. After Sheen, you can clean up the wave with 2 Powder Kegs each exploded with Parrrley, or only the backline with the first exploded with an AA and the second with Q. After Trinity Force, you can clean up the backline with 1 barrel exploded with Q.

With Arcane Comet: Death's Daughter > Fire At Will > Raise Morale
With any other one: Fire At Will > Death's Daughter > Raise Morale


You can actually build AP GP! Excelent against low mobility team comps, allies with tons of cc or simply when your team is full AD. You want to play around your ult, and because of that, you should prioritize CDR runes, such as Ultimate Hunter and Cosmic Insight. Arcane Comet, Cheap Shot and Scorch will help you with the damage. Go for Trinity Force, as always, and transition to Luden's Tempest and Liandry's Anguish. That's your power spike. Don't forget your Sorcerer's Shoes!

Wave Management in a nutshell:

Especially important in TOP lane due to its length. Mismanage it and you'll end up getting ganked or losing CS until the wave comes back to you. There are tons of videos about wave management on youtube, but basically, waves with more minions tend to push. The more minions a wave has, the faster it pushes to the opposite side.
Thin down the wave when you realize it's pushing too fast to stop your enemy reseting it or to avoid dives.

Set it properly before global objectives like dragons, herald, baron and you'll always have the numbers advantage to fight for them, or at least the enemy laner will lose tons of CS and have his/her turrets damaged ignoring the wave.

Also extremely important for timing your B, reseting and buying items.

Crítico ou Letalidade?

Pergunta mais feita a respeito da builds do GP.
A Letalidade foi introduzida no League em 2017 para substituir a Penetra√ß√£o de Armadura Base, e seu valor aumenta com o n√≠vel do alvo. Com isto dito, itens de Letalidade s√£o bons contra campe√Ķes squishy que n√£o buildar√£o armadura, pois seu dano ignorar√° esse valor base.

Itens de crítico são bons no geral, mas eles não são tão efetivos sozinhos devido à chance de critar, então você provavelmente vai precisar comprar pelo menos 2 itens para fazê-los valer a pena.

E claro, você não precisa sempre escolher um ou outro e ir FULL CRITICO ou FULL LETALIDADE. Você pode misturar os dois e ter ambos os benefícios.
And of course, you don't need to always choose one or another and go FULL CRIT or FULL LETHALITY. You can mix them and have both benefits.

Devo usar Cannon Barrage para ajudar meus queridíssimos aliados?

Sim. Para pegar umas kills, defender torres, limpar big waves, contestar objetivos, evitar dives. Caso contrário, guarde-a para você mesmo.

Não se preocupe com isso nos níveis iniciais. Você não está jogando com Nasus. Apenas comece a focar farmar com o Q depois da Sheen ou quando perceber que mana não é mais um problema. Depois da Sheen, você pode limpar a wave com 2 Powder Kegs cada um estourado com o Parrrley, ou apenas a backline com o primeiro estourado com um AA e o segundo com o Q. Depois da Trinity Force, você pode limpar a backline com 1 barril estourado com o Q.

Você pode mesmo buildar GP AP! Excelente contra times com pouca mobilidade, aliados com muito cc ou simplesmente quando seu time está full AD. Você quer jogar com a sua ult, e por isso, você deve priorizar runas de CDR, como Ultimate Hunter e Cosmic Insight. Arcane Comet, Cheap Shot e Scorch vão te ajudar com o dano. Faça Trinity Force, como sempre, e transicione para Luden's Tempest e Liandry's Anguish. Esse é o seu power spike. Não se esqueça da Sorcerer's Shoes!

Controle de wave resumido:

Especialmente importante na TOP lane devido ao seu comprimento. Erre no controle de wave e voc√™ acabar√° sendo gankado ou perder√° muitos minions at√© que a wave volte para voc√™. H√° milh√Ķes de videos sobre controle de wave no youtube, mas basicamente, waves com mais minions tendem a pushar (sim, com "sh". N√£o "puxar"). Quanto mais minions a wave tem, mais r√°pido ela pusha para o lado oposto.
Reduza a wave quando perceber que ela est√° pushando r√°pido demais para impedir que o seu inimigo a resete ou para evitar dives.

Sete-a apropriadamente antes de objetivos globais como drag√Ķes, arauto, e bar√£o, e voc√™ sempre ter√° vantagem num√©rica para lutar por eles, ou pelo menos o laner inimigo perder√° muito farm e ter√° suas torres danificadas ao ignorar a wave.

Também é extremamente importe para acertar o timing do seu B, resetar e comprar itens.

Max range for that special chase. E, E, Q the first barrel, Flash while droping the third one, R. Fancy as ****.

Cast Flash right after using your second barrel. You will close the distance and be able to reset your passive besides the whole combo.
