Introduction

Hello to you all dear readers, today i am bringing you a full guide of Rengar The Pridestalker which by the way as been climbing his way into competitive games as of late because of his recent changes which make him a more viable choice in your team, in various roles and for that many people seem to have choosing him as a Jungler and a Solo Toper because of his sustainability and in some rare cases there are players that even go Mid Lane with him which works fine and in this guide i will be covering all of those 3 builds. Background

On every wall of his den, the trophy hunter Rengar mounts the heads, horns, claws, and fangs of the most lethal creatures in Valoran. Though his collection is extensive, he remains unsatisfied, tirelessly seeking greater game. He takes time with every kill, studying his prey, learning, and preparing himself for the next encounter with the one monster he never managed to defeat.
Rengar never knew his real parents, but was raised by a human who was revered as a legendary hunter. He was an ideal pupil, intently absorbing the lessons of his father, and improving them with his uncanny feral instincts. Before his mane had fully grown, Rengar set off on his own and claimed a wide territory for himself. Along its perimeter, he mounted the skulls of his slain prey - a warning to would-be aggressors. He thought undisputed reign of a region would fulfill him, but instead, he grew restless. No beasts in his domain proved challenging prey, and without formidable adversaries to push his limits, Rengar's spirit waned. He feared that no worthwhile game remained, that he would never again feel the thrill of the hunt. Just when things seemed their bleakest, he encountered the monster. It was a disturbing, alien thing, distinctly out of place in his world. It bore huge scything claws and devoured any animal that strayed across its path. Overzealous at the prospect of a challenge, Rengar ambushed the monster in haste. It far outclassed anything he'd hunted before. Their fight was savage, and each suffered crippling wounds. Rengar lost an eye, but the most grievous blow was to his pride. He had never before failed to make the kill. Worse yet, the severity of his injuries forced him to retreat. Over the following days, he hovered on the threshold between life and death. He was wracked with pain, but beneath it, he felt a glimmer of joy. The hunt was on. If such powerful beings existed in the world, he would find them, and stack their heads high. The monster, however, was a kill he wanted to savor. On

Runes

So lets take a look at the Runes that i choose to have on Jungler Rengar and why do i have them, take not that i will try to explain why i picked these specific rune sets and will try to give some others can you can choose instead

So as you can see i need to have 9 Greater Mark of Desolation so that i can take full advantage of early game ganks because that is when your targets wont have enought armor, and lets say, that a champ sych as Swain starts off with 30 armor, you can easily penetrate through if not all, then most of his armor and easily get a kill or assist and even at late game, these Greater Mark of Desolation will help you very much against targets more tanky such as armor stackers like Malphite and they will give you kind of a levarage against those little preys...
As for Seals i use Greater Seal of Armor you all know why, more armor means more survivability which makes for a safer jungle and you will be more protected against heavy counter junglers like Shyvana and Alistar and will also help you to not take much damage even when you are ganking an enemy cause its a little embarassing that you are the ganker and YOU are the one that ends up getting damaged and or even killed, so lets try to avoid that at all cost.
Now for the Glyphs i prefer to use Greater Glyph of Magic Resist because you wont be naturally stacking much magic resistance items unless you are fighint against fed ap carries like Annie or LeBlanc or even Kassadin, so you want to have a little bit of natural magic resist to counter those AP carries at least early-mid game when you dont have enought money to a full Maw of Malmortius
My choice for Quintessences is Greater Quintessence of Health because like i've been saying, having more safety in the jungle is essencial and with these babies you will be getting a sweet boost on you health unlike other champs
I WANT TO REMEMBER TO ALL OF YOU THAT THESE ARE MY RUNE PAGE BUILD, AS IF YOU DONT AGREE OR DONT LIKE THESE YOU SHOULD CHANGE THEM

SOLO TOP RENGAR

So Solo Top Rengar has a little bit mix of other runes but keeps some of the previous runes also...So the Marks change as on Solo Top I prefer to go for Greater Mark of Attack Damage because in here all that matters is who's the baddest in the yard and the baddest is usually the one with most Armor/Magic Resist and more Attack Damage/Ability Power and let's face it, you will need to punish your enemies very bad so that dont even think about getting the chance to farm and gain Exp/Gold
Now for the Seals and Glyphs i still prefer the Greater Seal of Armor and the Greater Glyph of Magic Resist, and this is like same story all day long, WHY? Because like i said, you NEED to prove that you are a threat to your enemy so that he doesnt start to get any funny ideas to try to start harrassing you and with Armor/Magic Resist you will have that extra thing to sweet up the deal and dominate the Solo Lane without even needing your jungler to come and help you
As for the Quintessences go i dont want to get more health, but instead to go for Health Regen wth some Greater Quintessence of Vigor and i'm gonna tell you why, you will be like a mini Garen with his annoying passive, so when you are low health just go give a big and long hug to your tower, waiting till your Quintessences do the work and heal you back while if you had health instead of regen you couldnt heal and had to go back to base much more often which would be a waste of Exp/Gold

AP CARRY RENGAR

Let's also take a look at a more ortodoxe Rengar build, YES i am talking about the AP Carry Rengar build because a lot of people has been asking for an AP build and I DO hear the people because the are the ones who rate this guide, so this one is for all the AP Rengar out there
Quite simple and traditional AP Marks are the Greater Mark of Magic Penetration as you will need the magic penetration to crush enemies and make them retreat in pain and screams, early-mid game these runes are very helpfull and they can have a pretty decent part in the late-game phase as with these you wont need to focus on buying early game items with magic penetration like Void Staff as you should be focusing on more heavy damage AP items
As for the Seals, I still prefer the armor Greater Seal of Armor because most of the junglers are AD damage dealers and if you are playing mid lane you wont want a Shaco or a Warwick to ruin you laning phase and you can get a little more agressive to "explore" other lanes to see if you can get any more kills
Moving on to Glyphs you will need to buy Greater Glyph of Ability Power because early game that extra something in the AP department makes all the difference because lets face it, if you are playing against for example a Brand or a Diana with 50 AP and you only have like 20 AP you are gonna have a really bad time as you wont be able to get that agressive
My favourite part is the Quintessences which are made possible by getting Greater Quintessence of Ability Power because just like I said previously you will need AP in the beggining of the game to CRUSH your enemies with your Battle Roar as that will be your maind damage and healer dealer...so feel free to experience these rune pages and let me know on the comments

Masteries

JUNGLER RENGAR
you will need everything that this more offensive and less defensive tree gives you, as a jungler you want to have nice defensive stats at the beggining so that you dont loose to much health at the beggining so that you can gank more effectivly but you also need damage to make the jungle route faster and to be able to dish some serious damage when you gank so that your enemies FEAR you and not make fun of you little Rengar

SOLO TOP RENGARAs you can see I use almost the same mastery page's on Solo Top Rengar because solo top isn't that much different from the jungle, the difference from the Jungle Masteries is that you will want to take 2 points in Vigor instead of Resistance so that you have more health regen for when you are playing against an agressive laner like Yorick...Jungle and top lane are not that different (besides the fact that there are no neutral monsters, and it's not your full responsability to gank and help other lanes, and you also need to take down a turret, and concentrate in farming and smashing your opponent) but the point is that you as a Rengar solo top need to take full advantage of that early game power...Of course you can also go for a more defensive play and take instead a 9-21-0 mastery page if you know you are going to lane against a fierce opponent like Yorick or Renekton

AP CARRY RENGARNow for the ones more hardcore than myself i and love to confuse your enemies with the AWESOME damage that an AP Carry Rengar offers you, i give you the AP mastery page, and just like the Jungler and Solo Top page, you should focus on more damage but instead of AD damage you will go for AP damage (of course) so you should focus on getting cooldown and AP damage to burst your enemies with you Battle Roar skill which besides the damage will heal you very and i mean VERY much when you get all the 5 stacks of Ferocity, so just make sure you double hit your enemies with you Battle Roar and after you see the damage you will thank this mastery page every single point you spent on her

Jungle Rengar Items & Situacional

First off, i will cover this build then i will add some other possibilities for other items you can use, so sit back, have a nice reading and take some notes if you will...
So as a jungler and particulary with Rengar you can decide to have various builds, but because he is Rengar and because of spells like Savagery you want to have PURE POWER without forgetting some survivability altough you have your Battle Roar that can save your *** if you get yourself tangled in tricky situations, enought said le'ts take a look at the Jungle build that i like and i advise to use on Rengar when you are jungling
CORE ITEMS

Bonetooth Necklace


The reason you will want to have Mercury's Treads is because of it's passive i mean 35 Tenacity...that means a lot to a jungler because you dont want champs like Soraka or Kassadin to silence you, or champs like Nautilus and Irelia to stun/slow you while you ganks your partner's lanes, because that would make for a very poor and useless gank and that way neither you or your teammates would get any kills/assists which caused you to not get fed which is a MUST NOT HAPPEN but aside from them you can also choose
> Ninja Tabi or Mobility Boots

Bonetooth Necklace I think i dont even need to explain this items, but i kinda feel like i should anyway so... guys pay very close attention this is the Bonetooth Necklace and item that was made just to Rengar and that has Rengar written all over it (except if you are AP Rengar but i will cover that in a second)...Anyway as I was saying, this is a very good item with nice passives and it only costs 800 gold which his less than Vicktor upgrades so you should definitly give it a whirl early game because that is an item that tends to snowball very hard but you can also skip this item and go for a
> Wriggle's Lantern(altough i think that Rengar can do the Jungle very effectivly without this item)

So how about playing Rengar assassin style LIKE A BAUSS? Sounds goo doesnt it? Well allow me to introduce to you Bloodthirster...a devastating sword that just like Bonetooth Neckalce tends to snowball too hard if bought early game and of course used correclty. If you are one of those Rengar's that just farms the jungle until there are no more neutral monsters left, then this is the perfect item for you, if you are one of those that instead farming, prefers to gank the lane and let your enemies crying because of your ganks, then that is ALSO THE PERFECT ITEM...it gives you huge damage and also gives you the much needed lifesteal for mid game sustain, and just wait until you combine this with your Savagery then the damage really starts and talking about sustain, the lifesteal plus your Battle Roar just makes you if not imortal, then pretty hard to kill but then again if you dont like this item you can go instead for a
> Trinity Force

In this item you can either start with some Giant's Belt for some survivability or a Phage for some random slow or even better, let's upgrade it into a Frozen Mallet so that you can get both bonuses and make it a permanent always hit effect slow. A Frozen Mallet will give you health to stay more time harrassing your preys and staying in some small 3 vs 3 or 2 vs 2 teamfights so nothing's better for a Jungler than to have a Frozen Mallet just to pro some slows on your enemies without even depending on the red buff and believe me when i tell you that it will make your enemies very mad because you already have a natural slow with you Bola Strike and Empowered Bola Strike, but just to spike them further you will now possess the ability to slow your enemies with your basic attacks and that my dear reader is going to give you an edge to slit your enemy throat in just a few micro-seconds which is pretty cool if you ask me, just to watch your enemies fall in despair...aside from that you can also try a good item like
> Sunfire Aegis

So you are getting a little bit too fed to your enemies be able to contain all the chaos and destruction that you are creating among the field, well my little one eye friend... i mean you should worry a little because without any armor, any 0 skill level guy that has picked Darius or [Xin Zhao]] full AD can just kill you easily. That's why you will need some armor and how about joining armor and critical chance to the dance and combine those 2 babies into an Atma's Impaler just so that you can 1 hit Savagery into half of the enemy's health and believe me, an item like this will help you a lot on teamfights and will let you crit a champ like LeBlanc or Miss Fortune and that is always a good thing on an assassin. You can either start of with Chain Vest if you want more armor=survivability or you can go for a more offensive playstyle and rush Agility Cloak but either way it will depend on you and how the game is heading or if you want more armor you can go for a
> Thornmail or a Guardian Angel

You know that feeling when the enemy AP carry gets fed and starts whooping your entire team's ***? Well worry no more because Maw of Malmortius was made to STOP those situations...Imagine that an enemy Akali or a Diana gets way too fed, the solution is simple, just buy a Hexdrinker and half of the problem is solved because that Hexdrinker passive is just too DAM good too be wasted, and the extra damage is also nice...When you feel its time to put a stop to that game or when you have enough money, you just upgrade it to a Maw of Malmortius which will improve your shield and will also add even more damage with that Pickaxe and of course dont forget the tenacity that is gives you and combining that with the other tenacity that you have from the Mercury's Treads well, let's just say that you will be getting out of CC abilities like silences and stuns/slows like if you were riding a byciclebut then again you can also try out a
> Force of Nature

Solo Top Rengar Items & Situacional

CORE ITEMS


So Doran's Blade is the item of choice for a Solo Top Rengar because it will give you health, damage output and lifesteal to rise your sustain in the lane, and will help you very much getting more time in the lane to farm and harass your enemies more safely so that you can push him out of the lane, denying him gold, so that you can have an advantage in order for him to come back to his lane and find you very well farmed and dangerous...asides from the Doran's Blade you can try to start of with
> Cloth Armor and some Health Potion

So why would you go for a Berserker's Greaves on a Solo Top Lane? Well, it's quite simple, with this build you will have huge damage so you will want to deal that damage faster to your enemies so they die quickly, and with Berserker's Greaves you will be able to do just that, but if you dont like these boots you can also try to go for more defensive stats so you should just buy
> Ninja Tabi or Mercury's Treads

Yet another Doran's Blade but before you ask why let me explain that i ONLY buy this item if i think i could use some more health or if im getting a hard lane against with a champion like Malphite or for example Shen but if not then you can go for other items like for example a
> The Brutalizer

This is the part when you Really need some health to keep those guns rocking those enemies to a bloody pulp. The solution to that problem is to buy a Warmog's Armor and watch your enemies foolish attempts to kill you as they will scream and roar in pure despair and anger while you will be able to slit their troaths while your health is up (because when she's off, it means you are dead, unless you are Karthus with that passive), but anyway, you will have a lot of health, and some health regen which is also nice, and DONT FORGET to farm after you buy the Warmog's Armor because this item stack health and health regen...but if you dont like it you can always go for a
> Frozen Mallet or Sunfire Aegis

If you think you still dont have enough survivability, or you just want to have sell and item of your build to replace him for a more VERY LATE GAME ITEM and you also want a second chance to wreck your enemies like a school bus on his way to a chemistry class, you can try ou a Guardian Angel which in my opinion is a very good item to have on Rengar and many other champions, because of its great defensive stats and of THAT PASSIVE that i consider to be one of the best passives in the whole game

AP Carry Rengar Items

So now we are going to talk about the AP Carry Rengar buildset and a lot of you think of AP Rengar and give me this look:

But hear me out guys, AP Carry Rengar works very well and can be played in various lanes, just like the AD Rengar...he can be played either Solo Top Lane, Jungle or the Mid Lane against some other AP Carries like Annie or Anivia and he can excel at that if you play smart and use the brushes to your advantage without forgeting to use your Battle Roar to wipe your enemies of the face of the map...believe me

CORE ITEMS

Kage's Lucky Pick

Pretty much standard build for and AP champion and even after the nerf to the Doran's items that some people just don't like to buy the Doran's Ring but i still thing it has a lot of potencial and brings up a different speed to the game, as if you look at him, it will give you health and AP power so that you can bring up some damage and witstand some damage if the enemy tries to harass you...the mana regen doesnt fit in the picture but nothing is perfect, if you like you can replace it with
> Boots

I think there is no surprise in here because that is the main boots that an AP Carry uses mainly because of the magic penetration and i think that its always a good think to penetrate trough your enemies defenses because you will not always face squishy champions at lets say the mid lane, and some of those bruisers like Galio are really tought to take down, but if you dont feel too confortable with those boots you can either go for some other boots that will give you more mobility to move into bushes to SURPRISE your enemy, like for example
> Mobility Boots or Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Kage's Lucky PickGood item that works very well on AP characters that want a little gold per 5 second and it also gives some extra AP which by the way is always a good thing, and more late game you can also upgrade it to a very powerful and devastating item...but asides from that you can also try to stack another
> Doran's Ring for more AP and health

Hey Rengar can you stop playing with your preys and go for some more OPiness? Because a Mejai's Soulst[/color]ealer will do the job right...i mean, half the job, because YOU have to do the other half by getting some kills and assist's and of course no dying so that you dont loose 1/3 of those hard earned stacks. This item scales very well if you are having a pretty easy lane and if you see that you can gank other lanes as at 20 stacks it will give you 160 AP and 20% Cooldown reduction so its worth it...of course taht if you ont like this item, you can always rush a
> Will of the Ancients

Enought said about this item, this is a MUST HAVE ITEM ON ANY SINGLE AP CARRY...end of story, just look at the ability power this baby is going to give you...i mean, that will be insane damage you will do with your Battle Roar... just look at it, 140 ability power and a bonos 30% of your AP...i mean, this has got to be one of the top 3 items for every single AP Carry if not, then i dont know a single thing about this game, which i sincerely hope i do otherwise i would not be posting this guide...besides the Rabadon's Deathcap you can always go for a
> Guinsoo's Rageblade

Having trouble with other champions killing you or dropping your health to a critical point? Not to worry, you can always go for a Giant's Belt then add a little AP and end up upgrading it for a Rylai's Crystal Scepter and this will be very useful both ways because it will give you more survivability and will add a slow to all your spells kinda like Frozen Mallet does but instead of procing slows with basic attacks, the Rylai's Crystal Scepter pros slows with your spells so you should use it wisely but you should not run into any trouble, then again if because of something you dont like this item, you can slso try to go for a
> Zhonya's Hourglass

Now as i told you before THIS IS THE POWERFUL item i was talking about when i was describing the Kage's Lucjy Pick. Just look at him, the Deathfire Grasp is a very powerful item that can be used to a vaste number of situations like last hitting your enemy to secure the kill or just poke him to scare him of the fight, it gives you 85 AP and reduces your cooldowns by 15% and that is very helpfull, not to mention that PASSIVE ABILITY that it has, which will do damage to your target's 25% health plus 4% per 100 ability power that you have up to a minimum of 200 damage which is like you Blo Strike damage but with a little bonuses. A lot of you guys are thinking, why not upgrade it right away? Well, its because you will need as much extra gold as you can get from your Kage's Lucky Pick and by upgrading it into a Deathfire Grasp you will loose that passive bonus which sucks...but if you don't like this item you can also try
> Nashor's Tooth

Then of course that one of the obvious choices that matches so well with Rengar is the almighty Lich Bane and check the stuff that this big boy toy has to offer you: 80 AP, 30 Magic Resist, 350 Mana (NO YOU DONT NEED MANA ON RENGAR), a 7 Movement speed multiplier and an extremly well know passive which will make you next basic attacks to deal an addicional 100% ability power in damage. Which means that you will do TONS OF DAMAGE to your enemies once you got this baby rolling in ypour pocket, and besides that passive you also gain more movement speed which is always nice to flee and chase, and more AP for your Battle Roar then a little bit of Magic Resist to keep champs like Annie or Veigar a little of you back, you can start of with a Sheen a Blasting Wand or a Null-Magic Mantle but the coice is up to you. If you dont like this item or just need more pownder in your cannon you can try a
> Void Staff

Skill Explanation

(Innate): While in brush or stealthed, Rengar gains bonus attack range and his attacks cause him to leap at his target. This bonus lasts for ~0.5 second upon exiting brush or stealth. This will happen regardless of whether or not his target has sight of him, and has no internal cooldown.
Range: 600, 750 with 9 trophies on Bonetooth Necklace

Unseen Predator is a passive ability that grants Rengar 1 charge of Ferocity, his resource system, whenever he lands an offensive ability. Additionally, whenever Rengar is stealthed or in brush, his next autoattack will cause him to leap onto his target.

- Unseen Predator has no cooldown and the leap can be used repeatedly. For example, when chasing through brush, Rengar can continually leap onto his target as quickly as his attack speed permits.
- After leaping to a target, Rengar will attempt to attack that target if it is a champion.
- Upon reaching 5 Ferocity, a new set of "Empowered" abilities become available for use which have no cooldowns and cost 5 ferocity to activate. The empowered versions are available for immediate use, but using an empowered ability does not interact with the corresponding regular abilities' cooldowns in any way. His regular abilities which are on cooldown continue counting down their cooldown timers while his empowered abilities are available. After Rengar consumes his Ferocity by using an Empowered ability.

(Active): Rengar's next basic attack deals bonus damage and grants him increased attack speed for 3 seconds.
No cost - Cooldown: 6 seconds - Physical Damage:[/color] 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+1.0 per attack damage) - Attack Speed: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 %
Ferocity Bonus: Savagery deals bonus damage equal to 150% of Rengar's attack damage, and the Attack Speed bonus is doubled.
Cost: 5 Ferocity - No cooldown - Empowered Physical Damage: 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+2.5 per attack damage) - Empowered Attack Speed Bonus: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 %

Savagery is an autoattack modifier that causes Rengar's next basic attack to deal bonus physical damage and increase his attack speed for a short duration. When Savagery is enhanced by Ferocity, the damage is boosted and the attack speed bonus is doubled.

- Savagery does not pop spell shield.
- Savagery resets Rengar's attack timer upon cast.
- Savagery and Empowered Savagery attack speed buffs stack.
- Savagery can crit, but only attack damage is multiplied.
- Empowered Savagery bonus damage is not affected by critical strike.
- Savagery will go on cooldown if Rengar does not autoattack within 6 seconds of the initial cast.

(Active): Rengar lets out a battle roar, damaging enemies and gaining bonus armor and magic resist for a short duration.
No cost - Radius of AoE: 500 - Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 seconds - Magic Damage: 75 / 120 / 165 / 210 / 255 (+0.8 per ability power)
Ferocity Bonus: Battle Roar also heals Rengar for 15% of his maximum health.
Cost: 5 Ferocity - No cooldown - Radius of AoE: 500 - Bonus Armor & Magic Resistance: 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60

Battle Roar is a point blank area of effect ability that deals magic damage to all enemy units in an area around Rengar and increases his armor and magic resistance for 3 seconds. When Battle Roar is enhanced by Ferocity, it restores 15% of Rengar's maximum health.

- Battle Roar procs spell vamp and Rylai's slow similarly with all area of effect spells and abilities with diminished effect.
- Battle Roar pops spell shield.
- Battle Roar will damage Black Shield.
- Enhanced Battle Roar heals Rengar regardless of if it hits an enemy or not.
- Bonus armor and magic resistance does not stack when the ability is used twice, but buff duration is refreshed.
- Battle Roar has no channel time upon cast and it will not interrupt Rengar's previous orders when used.

(Active): Rengar throws a bola at his target, slowing them for 2.5 seconds. The slow decays over the duration.
No cost - Range: 575 - Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 seconds
Physical Damage: 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 (+0.7 per bonus attack damage) - Slow: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 %
Ferocity Bonus: Bola Strike initially roots his target for 1 second. The slow is applied in full after the 1 second, and decays over the remaining 1.5 seconds. Crowd control reduction will reduce each duration separately.
Cost: 5 Ferocity - No cooldown - Range: 575

Bola Strike is a targeted ability that deals physical damage and slows a single enemy unit for a short duration. When Bola Strike is enhanced by Ferocity, it will also immobilize the target for 1 second.

- Bola Strike procs spell vamp and Rylai's slow similarly with all single target spells and abilities with full effect.
- Bola Strike pops spell shield.
- Bola Strike will not damage Black Shield , but the slow and immobilize will be negated.

(Active): Rengar activates his predatory instincts, stealthing and revealing all enemy Champions in a large radius around him. He gains movement speed and generates 1 Ferocity per 0.75s while stealthed. Lasts 7 seconds or until he uses an ability. Cooldown: 120 / 85 / 50 seconds - Vision Radius: 2000 / 3000 / 4000 - Movement Speed Bonus: 20 / 25 / 30 %

Thrill of the Hunt is a self-active ability that causes Rengar to become stealthed for up to 7 seconds and gain bonus movement speed. The effect can be ended prematurely by attacking or using abilities. While stealthed, Rengar generates Ferocity and will be capable of bouncing onto his target with Unseen Predator. Additionally, all enemy units in a radius around Rengar are revealed while he is stealthed.

- Thrill of the Hunt will reveal all enemy units as long as they are within range of the ability's sight radius. This includes enemies in brush and stealthed champions.
- Thrill of the Hunt does not pop spell shield.
- Activating Savagery will not reveal Rengar.
- If Rengar has 0 Ferocity, this ability will generate 5 Ferocity in 3.75 seconds.
- If Thrill of the Hunt is activated within enemy sight, a distinctive sound can be heard by the enemy. If activated outside of enemy sight, they will receive no warning of the ability’s use.
- ActivatingZhonya's Hourglass during Thrill of the Hunt will not end the effect prematurely.

So as a Jungler you want totake your first point on your Savagery mainly because of the damage and relatibly low cooldown which will provide with the necessary jungling speed you need...you could aso try o go first for Battle Roar which is also good, but i dont take it at level 1 because of the high cooldown that it has, but if you have some cooldown reduction runes and masteries and you want to star more defensive, you can maximize it first rank, that's your own choice, but you SHOULD NOT start with your Bola Strike because that damages and also slows, but you are jungling, you are not going to gank level 1 (unless you are premade with your team, but still, please...)so alternate beetwen your Savagery or your Battle Roar.Your next step should be hitting level 3 so that you can have all your skills which will make your ganks much more effective and your teammates will thank you for that, because a good jungler should at least have all skills to maximize crowd control abilities and damage output. From here on your main task is simple just maximize your Savagery followed by your Battle Roar then Bola Strike and don't forget to get you ultimate Trhill of the Hunt whenever you can because that is a really usefeul skill when ganking squishier targets like Miss Fortune or Veigar...VERY IMPORTANT is for you to remember to use your passive Unseen Predator when ganking

SOLO TOP RENGAR

Looking at the skill sequence on Solo Top Rengar you won't see that much difference, the trick is just maximizing Savagery at rank 1, butinstead of maximizing your Battle Roar first, you will focus on Bola Strike first and only then you will maximize your Battle Roar last. Why is that? Think of it this way, you wont be getting that much armor and self-heal, but you wont have any neutral mosters attacking you on the top lane unless the enemy solo toper decides to be agressive (but in that case just use your passive Unseen Predator to fix the problem) but as i was saying, there wont be much agressiveness unless you want it to be, so just maximize your Bola Strike to do more damage on your target and apply that nice stun so that your Jungler can get an esier gank meaning a good chance to get a kill/assist...TAKE NOTE that Bola Strike is physical damage and will be more usefeul when soloing top unlike Battle Roar that has nice stats but it's an AP skill...From here on just maximize your skills by that order and always take your ulti Thrill of the Hunt when you can

Ok so we have seen Rengar maximize his Savagery then maximizing his Battle Roar BUT NOW we will see him maximizing his Battle Roar and i think the coice is pretty obvious, well, for those who dont know his Battle Roar is an AP skill so i think that if you are going AP you might as well maximize your Battle Roar. So yeah,just go for Battle Roar then go for your Savagery and then your Bola Strike and you should be just fine. Again just like the other 2 build, you should use the bushes for you passive Unseen Preadtor so that you can do more damage and surprise your targets with a huge leap then a Battle Roar right in the face then just spam some spells to make way for your ferocity so that you can then easily kill your prey. Because you are AP i would recommend Mid Lane, but you can also go AP jungler and still do tons of damage and help your team secure a very easy win

Tips & Tricks

Unseen Predator allows you to gank unexpectedly. Use Thrill of the Hunt in order to not be seen across the map as you move towards your gank or save it for chasing if you think the target can escape with Flash or Ghost and/or stealth or dash ability.

Unseen Predator allows Rengar to lunge to his enemies while stealthed, using his ultimate. Use this to your advantage and use Thrill of the Hunt combined with Savagery for an exceptionally well executed combo in rapid succession, then slow the enemy using your Bola Strike.

Rengar can hop over walls using Unseen Predator. Place a ward next to a jungle camp and get inside a brush over the wall, then simply attack the monsters. However, make sure they're inside your circle. Also, when your Bonetooth Necklace reaches 9 Trophies, the fun begins as you should use the extra range on your passive to make this wall-hopping easier as this is a great tactic for stealing epic monsters like Lizard Elder and if you use Thrill of the Hunt with a well timed Smite you can also steal monsters like Baron Nashor when counter jungling or killing the enemy jungler.

A great way to reach high amounts of attack speed very fast and burst down enemies is to use your Savagery and then your Empowered Savagery right after (or the vice versa). Because the attack speed bonuses stack additively this provides 90% AS at 1st rank and 150% AS at 5th rank.

Whenever Rengar turns invisible using Thrill of the Hunt, he gains a point of Ferocity every 0.75 seconds. Keep that in mind because it can turn the tide of a battle, increasing one of three things about Rengar: his damage, his utility or his self-healing ability.

Rengar Savagery and allow him to take down turrets very quickly and with the added survivability from Battle Roar make him exceptionally good at backdooring. He is capable of great pushes both early and late game so make sure to use this to your advantage by pushing the turrets early on to get bonus gold for your team.

Maxing Savagery first gives you great attack speed, single targeted damage and burst, but its cooldown is constant making it not optimal if you want to generate ferocity fast.

Some might argue that Savagery is a one-point wonder skill, as its scaling is based on Rengar total attack damage and thus remains powerful even at Rank 1. It is also difficult to keep opponents in range to fully utilize the bonus attack speed, unless allied crowd control abilities are strong enough to keep foes locked down.

Rengar is a great jungler as his Empowered Battle Roar heals him for 15% of his maximum health. This allows him for excellent survivability both in lanes and jungles. When jungling alternate between Empowered Battle Roar and Empowered Savagery.

Maxing Battle Roar first gives you a good burst of AoE damage, a high defense boost for a few seconds and allows for generating ferocity faster with cooldown going down. Consider it over maxing Savagery, when jungling or playing defensively. As you should use Rengar's Empowered Bola Strike in order to stop enemies from running away.

Thrill of the Hunt is a great tool for escaping ganks and other nasty situations. Since it is not delayed by damage you can immediately go in stealth. When you successfully fade into stealth try to take an unusual path to avoid being caught.

Rengar can use his ultimate in order to see invisible champions, such as Shaco, Twitch, or another Rengar.

Summoner Spells

Talking about summoner spells we can have a wide choice for the 3 different type's of build that you can have on Rengar either Jungler, Solo Top or AP Carry:

These are the spells that i recommend the most on pretty much any type of Rengar as you can make a mix of offensive and defensive spells to get the most on Rengar full capacity which will make you more viable to yourself and your team

Shields your champion for 100 + (25 × level) for 4 seconds and has a related mastery Summoner's Resolve which will reduce the cooldown by 20 seconds. Well folks that spell only worke on Proving Grounds so i wont really be discussing that spell, but if you are ever gonna play Proving Grounds the take a spin at Barrier because that is a very good spell that can save your life sometimes

Exhaust slows movement speed by 40% and reduces autoattack damage by 70% and ability/item damage by 35% for 2.5 second and has a related mastery Summoner's Wrath which will also reduce the target's armor and magic resist by 10. Nice spell to have on Rengar as yyou will want your enemy to not get a single chance to get away or you can simply use your Exhaust to low their damage output either with spells or just basic attacks, so you should definitly get this spell and combine it with orhter spells like Flash or if you just want agressiveness with Ignite

Strengthens allied capture points or weakens enemy capture points. (Allied Turret: Grants massive regeneration and attack speed for 8 seconds. Enemy Turret: Reduces damage by 80% for 8 seconds) and also has a realted mastery with him, Summoner's Resolve in which allied Garrisoned turrets deal 50% splash damage. This spell can ONLY be used in Dominion games, but still if you go to a Dominion you might as well take this spell as it can help you and your team secure and capture points easier and will greatly help you getting on first place in the scoreboard

Your Champion passes through any unit and moves 27% faster for 10 seconds and just like Exhaust, this spell shares a common mastery Summoner's Wrath which will also reduce the target's armor and magic resist by 10. Ok so you dont like Flash you can always replace it with a little of speed with Ghost as it can be used to both chasing or escaping against pretty fast champions like Master Yi or The Master of Chase/Escape Singed...I dont really use this spell uless for Dominion, because Rengar's ultimate Thrill of the Hunt will already give you movement speed so there's not much use on it but its your own choice

It restores 75 + (lvl x 25) Health to your Champion and 50% of that to nearby allies. All targets healed will have a 50% reduction in heal amount from other summoner heal spells for 35 secs. wichh like Garrinson and others is related with Summoner's Resolve causing increased Health restored by 10%. I dont really use this spell too much unless for AD carries like Graves but if you are not sure if you will survive, or you just want that little suprise factor, you should have it with you...I recommend this for more unexperienced Rengar players as you can die a lot if you are trying a new champion, and Heal can save you most of the times and make up for a good choice

Instantly revives your Champion at your team's Summoner Platform and increases your champion's maximum health by 200 + (lvl x 20) for 2 minutes. 9 minute cooldown and like Heal is related with Summoner's Resolve which grants a massive speed boost for a short duration. Ok most people consider this to be a troll spell, but it can be a good spell on Dominion or Proving Grounds game's so dont just rage if you have teammates that take this spell because maybe they feel more confortable with it, but THIS is a spell that i dont recommend on Rengar at least not on Summoner's Rift or Twistead Treeline

Deals 420 + (lvl x 25) true damage to target enemy minion or pet, and again, is related to Summoner's Resolve which grants 10 bonus gold on use. VERY GOOD SPELL to have on Rengar as you should always have it when you are jungling with ANY TYPE OF JUNGLER, because it will garentee you all the best buffs like blue or red, but also monsters like the Dragon or Baron Nashor. If you are going Jungle without Smite you will definitly get counter-jungled and will not make an efficient jungle which means your ganks will be bad and you underlevel compared to your teammates and enemies. ALWAYS TAKE HIM WHEN JUNGLING.

Empowers your champion, increasing ability power by 6 + (lvl x 4) and attack speed by 35% for 12 seconds and is related with Summoner's Wrath increasing attack speed bonus to 40% and ability power gained by 10%. I would only recommend this spell if you are either going Dominion or Rengar)) AP Carry because the stats that provides you wont do very much effect on [[Rengar AD but it will help on AP Rengar

After 4 seconds, teleports your champion to target friendly minion or turret. 3 minute cooldown if cancelled and is "upgraded" by Summoner's Insight reducing cast time by 0.5 seconds (for a 3.5 second cast time). What can I say? If you think you can get kills/assists more easily with a Teleport so that you can "jump" other lanes, then i say that it works just fine

Removes all disables and summoner spell debuffs (which is pretty awesome if you ask me) affecting your champion and lowers the duration of incoming disables by 65% for 3 seconds as you should have Summoner's Resolve because it increases duration of disable reduction by 1 second (for a total of 4 seconds). Good spell for you to have on champion like for example Kog'Maw and sometimes even Rengar because most of the times you will be snowbolling if doing everything correctly and that way the enemy will start to focus you and having a Cleanse in your pocket can save you from nasty situations

Restores 160 + (lvl x 30) Mana to your champion and 50% of that to nearby allies and you should also have Summoner's Insight because increases Mana restored by 20%. This spell doesnt need that much saying: DONT EVER TAKE IT ON Rengar because Rengar doesnt even has mana

Targets a single champion dealing 50 + (lvl x 20) true damage over 5 seconds. Also reduces the target’s healing and regeneration by 50% and to maximize this, take a point at Summoner's Wrath because it increases Ability Power and Attack Damage by 5 while on cooldown. Very nice spell for anyone to have on pretty much every single champion...even Soraka is good with an Ignite so it will be a huge spell to have on Rengar and will make you get kills that sometimes escape with very low health, and by igniting them you can still get the kill and everyone's happy (except the enemy).

Promotes the nearest allied siege minion (in Classic) or super minion (in Dominion) to an anti-Turret Cannon, healing it, granting bonus stats (depending on level), and causing it to grant the caster gold for its kills and take a point at Summoner's Insight that will provide you with increasing promoted minion's bonus defensive stats by 15%. Another spell that you should only take if you are going to Dominion so that you can push the towers better, but that's the only good thing about this spell

Reveals an area of the map for 4 seconds and in order for you to get the max out of this spell you should take a point at Summoner's Insight because it increases duration by 2 seconds (for a total of 6 seconds). Just NO this spell is only for Supports like Sona or Taric, but who knows, maybe Support Rengar may be a viable choice one day

Teleports your Champion to target nearby location under your mouse cursor and for you to make Flash even better you should have a point at Summoner's Insight so that it will reduce the cooldown by 15 seconds. The best spell in my opinion, as it can be used for so many things like juking, flashing over walls, chasing, escaping, trolling if you want, can comining that with your passive Unseen Predator just makes up for very nice jukes and may even get you some kills in the process, thumbs up for this spell as i think you should have it if you want a more balanced spell to have on Rengar

IMPORTANT

During combat some spells ( Clarity, Heal, Ignite, Surge, Revive, Promote and Smite) will gain power with champion level. But some other spells have the same power throughout the entire battle. While in combat the spells are bound by the same rules as the champion skills, however, Flash and Teleport are the only summoner spells that cannot be used while silenced or stunned.

Counter Picks

So i posted this guide for people to know a bit more of Rengar potencial, so now we will move on to something more interesting as you should know which champions you will excell against and which are the ones that you shouldn't mess with, so firstly we will start with the Champions that Rengar counters and then we will move on to Champions that Rengar DOES not counter in any way (i mean those champs that can counter Rengar if played well, but played badly they are jsut another easy target) then i will move on to teatching you guys which Spells to take if you know you go on against a Rengar and last but not the least, which in-game mechanisms and items can counter this beast

CHAMPIONS TO COUNTER Rengar



Ok so lets start by explaining why these champions counter Rengar

Fiora is all about dueling and she can be amazing at snowbballng in the game if people forget her damage...and even when you are Rengar there are certain tricks that she can pull off to shut you down...for example:

- She can activate her Riposte when you are about to hit her with your Savagery and that will deal you huge damage to yourself and it will feel like you have stabbed your own body, not to mention tha if you try to hit her with your Empowered Savagery the damage will double up and that won't be good

- Another simple thing that she can pull off is escaping you even when you have the bush advantage as she can use her Lunge on the minions or on an ally of yours to escape your radius and that way you won't be getting her so easily

- Anyone spoke about her ultimate? No...then allow me to tell you that her ultimate Blade Waltz will basicly make her UN-TARGET-ABLE...did you get that clear crystal? She won't be able to take any damage from your or anyone else's spells and she will (if she has some decent lifesteal) get out of that ulti with very HP and your team will be in a bad shape thanks to that damage

Jax is the champ of the chandeleer...which means that he doesnt even need weapons to pown people into next day...you can counter Rengar easily with him using only this:

- His stun Counter Strike can mess up your atempts to slain everyone across your path and will also damage you

- His leap Leap Strike combined with Empower will really let you in a vulnerable state because of the amizing double damage that you will receive, and combining that with an item like a Sheen will definitly not be good for any Rengar

- That ultimate of his Master-At-Arms will definitly let you think if you want to engage him in a 1 on 1 fight as you will take extra damage from every third attack and you will be fighting against a champions that just got and upgrade on his armor and magic resist...think about that before going Rambo on Jax

CHAMPIONS THAT Rengar COUNTERS



Moving on to champions that you can counter easily:

You are Rengar which means that with enought skill you can counter pretty much every single AD Carry that the game has to offer, and Ezreal is no exception as you can easily take him down with your combo Thrill of the Hunt--> Empowered Savagery--> Savagery--> Batle Roar--> Bola Strike and if that doesn't work, the hit him with another Savagery and some basic attacks for a mercy kill...also you should not forget to use bush advantage because he can get away with his Arcane Shift

she is like one of those champions that only is able to achieve it's full capacity is she's feed with kills, and so the only thing you have to do is harass her with your Bola Strike and hit her with some Savagery and Battle Roar so that she rushes her stealth and after that you can go for a clean kill without having any trouble at all, that is unless she has her ultimate Shadow Dance and in that case you can use your ultimate Thrill of the Hunt to balance things up (your ultimate also works for when she is on stealth mode)

Jayce is a very special champion because he can change his skills to either ranged or melee which make him very viable in various lanes, but not against Rengar as your main objective against Jayce will be to use bush cover to leap with your Savagery then Battle Roar in his face so that you dont take too much damaeg from his attacks. Keep doing this ultil you droped him low enough for you to get an easy kill with or without your jungler's healp, or if you are jungling or mid lane, you should use your Thrill of the Hunt to get near him to slit his throat

ITEMS THAT COUNTER Rengar

Banshee's

Moving on to items that can be used against Rengar we have:

Banshee's The Banshee's Veil is a pretty effectivve item to have when you are playing against Rengar cause you never know when he is going to jump you with his Thrill of the Blade and Savagery and the Banshee's Veil can get you rid of that damage spell and keep you safer, or ven when he is trying to slow you with his Bola Strike he wont't damage you nor slow you, so overall the Banshee's Veil is a pretty good item to have various champions that want to counter the best within Rengar

Randuin's One of the perfect items to have when going up against Rengar as this will give you very good armor stats and will allow you to acrivate a pretty good passive that can change the teamfights in your favour. Definitly a must-have item if the enemy Rengar is getting fed and your team can't counter him, this will do the job

Executioner's This item is not that expensive and works very well against Rengar because of it's passive/active abilites and the lifesteal and critical damage are alwasy nice to have, but with that active you can apply griveous wounds on your target, and most people tend to forget that effect, which by the way does very nice damage and may surprise both you and your eneimes, so feel free to give it a spin
