Stats To Consider

Which Boots & Why?
Boots of Swiftness > Slow Reduction
Great for
Rammus when roaming between
jungle
camps and lanes or dealing with slow effects like
Ashe's
Frost Shot/
Volley/
Serylda's Grudge/
Rylai's Crystal Scepter, or movement reducing effects that would leave you vulnerable when trying to escape.
Great for

Mercury's Treads > Magic Resistance & Tenacity
A decent option for
Rammus, reducing the effects of crowd control from enemy champions while offering a small amount of magic resistance. Standard choice into teams with strong magic damage threats.
A decent option for

Plated Steelcaps > Basic Attack Damage Reduction
In most games with
Rammus, this is your default pair of
Boots to select. Additionally, the armor provided in tandem with an auto attack damage reduction passive makes it easier to soak up physical damage from the enemy. Also great when combatting auto attack-centric champions or to help increase the damage of your passive.
In most games with

*Do note that you get diminishing returns on tenacity the more you stack, meaning as

Items
If we choose
Mosstomper Seedling, we gain a shield after killing a
monster
camp or waiting 10 seconds out of combat that grants tenacity and slow resistance.

If we choose
Scorchclaw Pup, we build ember stacks and then release them as % max health damage to the enemy, along with slowing them.

As your pet eats treats (earned from killing camps), they will increase the damage value of your

The best way to know which

Getting either mythics as your first item depends on what enemy champions you're dealing with rather than how

Buying
Frozen Heart helps to reduce enemy attack speed, effective against auto attack-based champions (
Kayle or other auto attack heavy champions). It also reduces damage on incoming attacks based on the small percentage that additionally scales with every 1,000 hit points you have up to a maximum of 40% damage reduction.

An essential core item for
Rammus that applies grievous wounds when struck by on-hit basic attacks. Very helpful against auto-attack heavy teams and healing from champions (
Nami,
Sona, Red
Kayn) or items (
Immortal Shieldbow,
Bloodthirster) that pose a threat.

With
Anathema's Chains, you gain health & ability haste and a nemesis passive that grants you damage reduction from a specific target and removes their resistance to crowd control while you're nearby. It is beneficial when playing against champions you know can annihilate you very quickly or when looking to reduce their effectiveness in combat.

It gives
Rammus mobility to chase down targets or when escaping dangerous situations. While moving, charge up bonus on-hit damage as physical damage. They are slowed upon impact when colliding with a target at maximum momentum stacks. This item helps when roaming or when travelling to objectives/team fights.
Dead Man's Plate combined with
Powerball gives you insane chase-down potential.

Similar passive to
Frozen Heart with its damage reduction of basic attacks. Instead of reducing flat attack speed, you gain a passive that reduces the target's critical strike damage. On top of this, the active effect slows enemy movement for 4 seconds (60-second cooldown). Very useful when dealing with champions who build critical strike items (
Yasuo,
Yone, or
Master Yi).

For
Rammus
Turbo Chemtank provides magic resistance while also granting extra mobility needed to chase targets who are running away or when engaging on a target. Also helpful when dealing with champions such as
LeBlanc,
Ahri, or
Akali who can dash away from you. When triggering the active effect, you'll ghost through
minion
waves to ensure you can catch them. Then once in range of the enemy, you'll emit a shockwave that slows them down. This ghosting effect can also be helpful for you should you need to escape from a dangerous situation.

A great alternative item for
Rammus when needing sustain/durability in team fights and skirmishes. The passive effect regenerates max health out of combat once you have acquired enough health (through keystones, runes, items or levels) to trigger it. The regeneration effect will only apply after taking no damage from minions (3 seconds) or champions (6 seconds).
