hi! i'm misu, and neeko is my love, my life, my everything; i have also played her in every role, but mid/support are my fave roles to play her in, and i peaked grandmasters 630+ lp this season!
i decided to create this guide as i have a lot of experience (1M+ points on 5 different accounts combined) and knowledge on Neeko, and wanted to share my passion for her with others! when i'm not playing Neeko or working on this guide, i'm a college student slaving away T_T. i am planning on making more guides in the future, specifically for Soraka/ Yuumi, so let me know if that would of interest to you! i would also like to stream but i feel very scared/demotivated of it, so please give me your encouragement β™‘!
feel free to ask me any questions about Neeko in the comments, discord, or on my stream! all my socials linked at the end of the guide.
follow my guide to be a pro at neeko like me :3
p.s. hire me to do your headers/graphics if you have a guide too
β“˜ disclaimer: not everyone is made for neeko...

γ€ŒMID」
βœ” high burst dmg
βœ” high mobility
βœ” strong early game
βœ” great roam potential
βœ” good wave clear
βœ” insane teamfight impact
βœ” reliable engage

γ€ŒSUPPORT」
βœ” has synergy with almost every ADC
βœ” roam/gank easily (w + passive)
βœ” jungle invade potential
βœ” strong against tank/melee supports
βœ” still considered useful even when behind (utility/cc)
βœ” can be played flexibily as AP, tank, or CC/peel bot
γ€ŒMID」
βœ– bursted by a lot of assasins
βœ– outranged by a lot of marksmen
βœ– outpoked by a lot of mages
βœ– out-scaled by a lot of champs (esp. if you don't get a good lead)
βœ– weak against dive comps
βœ– squishy

γ€ŒSUPPORT」
βœ– squishy if not going tank build
βœ– can be weak against enchanters
βœ– not a genuine true tank (lacks base tank stats)
βœ– provides no heals or shields to peel/sustain ADC
βœ– need to use ult smartly (peel ADC, engage on enemy carry, grouped enemies)
βœ– struggles into heavy sustain lanes/high mobility comps
INHERENT GLAMOUR ✦
Allows Neeko to transform into something. I have more info about this ability in the chapter below, since there's a lot of usage/potential for Inherent Glamour alone.

BLOOMING BURST ✦

Neeko throws out a small circular radius that goes off 2 more times if it lands on a champion, camp or executes a minion. Good to poke.

SHAPESPLITTER ✦
Neeko throws out a clone that copies whatever form she's currently in, and can be controlled with her W. Can extend it's duration with recall.

TANGLE-BARBS ✦
Neeko throws out a root that goes through champions/camps/minions and extends itself if it hits.

POP BLOSSOM ✦
Big radius CC ult that forms from the center of Neeko. Good for engaging/setting up fights or peeling for your teammates.

for ability combos, refer to the chapter here.
HAVE A PASSIVE KEYBIND
dodge + react faster to abilities you wouldn't be able to otherwise, as well as catching enemies off guard. i have mine binded to MB5 but see what works for you personally.
USE PASSIVE
TO BAIT
turn into either a dead or low hp ally with your Inherent Glamour to catch enemies off guard; as a result you will make them waste their spells or chase you.
WHERE TO CHANGE PASSIVE KEYBIND
SETTINGS β€Ί HOTKEYS β€Ί ABILITIES AND SUMMONER SPELLS β€Ί CHAMPION SPECFIC INTERACTION 3
PASSIVE USAGE EXAMPLES
Nautilus wastes his Flash thinking I am a low HP Seraphine
Camille is unable to stun me with E Hookshot or ult Hextech Ultimatum me and gets confused
baiting as low hp teammate, Ahri, to group the enemy to chase me and then ult Pop Blossom them after

EASY DIFFICULTY
the most basic combo
➜
EASY DIFFICULTY
advanced version of the E+Q combo, just add in auto attacks for more damage
➜ ➜ ➜
EASY DIFFICULTY
use this combo to proc Electrocute in lane
➜ ➜
EASY DIFFICULTY
engage combo; W for MS, ult, cast rocketbelt right after you press ult
➜ ➜
EASY DIFFICULTY
similar to the basic combo, except you get bonus MS towards the enemy to hit easier
➜ ➜
EASY DIFFICULTY
very simple combo; good for group fight set up or to catch an enemy that isn't paying attention
➜
EASY DIFFICULTY
engage combo; W for MS, ult, cast rocketbelt right after you press ult
➜ ➜
EASY DIFFICULTY
advanced engage combo; use this if enemy has everything up so you don't get bursted. cast zhonya RIGHT after you cast ult
➜ ➜ ➜
MEDIUM DIFFICULTY
this is the basic E buffer frame flash. since Neeko's E ( Tangle-Barbs) is a buffer, if you Tangle-Barbs+ Flash your root comes out much faster than Flash+ Tangle-Barbs and often the enemy will not expect it/be able to react in time.
➜
MEDIUM DIFFICULTY
like the E frame flash, this gets you bonus guranteed damage with your Q afterwards if the E connects
➜ ➜
MEDIUM DIFFICULTY
not that much harder of a combo than the previous ones, just using the W to gain bonus MS towards enemy
➜ ➜ ➜
MEDIUM DIFFICULTY
fast engaging huge gap closing combo. not as hard as it looks!
➜ ➜ ➜
HARD DIFFICULTY
passive icon means be a disguised minion or anything that is not neeko. this is an engage gap closer, if you need to follow up to a fight and you're a bit far.
➜ ➜ ➜ ➜ ➜
HARD DIFFICULTY
advanced version of the previous combo. adding in flash gives you even an huger gap closer.

this covers all of the mid chapters for neeko mid! currently working on linking everything so far/completing the actual chapters first!
WHEN TO GO COMET VS ELECTROCUTE?
pick comet for when you want to poke, play safe, and feel less pressure to be aggro. gives you less early prio, but good into champions that outrange you/are mages, like:
pick electrocute for when you are confident against your laner, want strong prio in lane, outrange them (any melee) and want to/are able to easily burst them, such as:
STANDARD POKE RUNES
this is your standard poke page that is viable for all new + experienced players, and overall a decent page for pretty much any match up. we want comet for easy poke, manaflow band for mana regen in lane, transcendence for ability haste, scorch for damage, biscuit for sustain in lane, and cosmic insight for ability/item haste (adds/synergizes with transcendence). for mini runes, we want attack speed for easier csing with autos, adaptive force for that bit of bonus ap, and heath scaling for more HP.

ARCANE COMET
damaging a champion with an ability hurls a damaging comet at their location.

MANAFLOW BAND
hit enemy champions with a spell gives 25 max mana, stacks up to 250. if max stacks, restore 1% of missing mana every 5s.

TRANSCENDENCE
gain ability haste upon reaching levels 5/8/11.

SCORCH
your first ability hit every 10s burns champions.
BISCUIT DELIVERY
get a biscuit; consuming it permanently increases max health.

COSMIC INSIGHT
gain 15 summoner spell haste and 10 item haste.
ALTERNATE POKE RUNES
this is your alternate poke page that is good if you want to still poke, but have it be enhanced damage. the downsides of this page compared to the standard poke runes is that you gain less mana and sustain, trading it in for damage instead. we want comet for easy poke, axiom arcanist for ultimate damage/cd for teamfights/sidelaning, transcendence for ability haste, scorch for damage, cheap shot for bonus damage when rooting someone, and treasure hunter for bonus gold when getting a kill. for mini runes, we want attack speed for easier csing with autos, adaptive force for that bit of bonus ap, and heath scaling for more HP.

ARCANE COMET
damaging a champion with an ability hurls a damaging comet at their location.

AXIOM ARCANIST
your ultimate has increased damage; scoring a takedown reduces your ultimate cooldown.

TRANSCENDENCE
gain ability haste upon reaching levels 5/8/11.

SCORCH
your first ability hit every 10s burns champions.
CHEAP SHOT
damage champions with impaired movement deals bonus damage.

TREASURE HUNTER
gain a small amount of gold per unique takedown + earn a bounty hunter stack per unique takedown.

STANDARD BURST RUNES
this is your standard burst page. we want electrocute for prio/burst damage, cheap shot for bonus damage from CCing, grisly mementos for faster ward CDs, and treasure hunter for bonus gold when getting takedowns. we want manaflow band for mana regen, and scorch for damage. for mini runes, we want attack speed for easier csing with autos, adaptive force for that bit of bonus ap, and heath scaling for more HP.

ELECTROCUTE
hit a champion with 3 consecutive attacks/abilities within 3 seconds to strike down bonus damage.

CHEAP SHOT
damage champions with impaired movement deals bonus damage.

MANAFLOW BAND
hit enemy champion with a spell to gain mana.

SCORCH
your first ability hit every 10s burns champions.
ALTERNATE BURST RUNES
this is your alternate burst page. we want electrocute for prio/burst damage, cheap shot for bonus damage from CCing, grisly mementos for faster ward CDs, and ultimate hunter for ultimate haste. we want triumph for sustain and bonus gold, and coup de grace for even more damage when we get them low. for mini runes, we want attack speed for easier csing with autos, adaptive force for that bit of bonus ap, and heath scaling for more HP.

collect a memento per takedown, max. 18. gain trinket haste per each memento.

ULTIMATE HUNTER
gain ultimate haste when you get unique takedowns.
TRIUMPH
getting a takedown heals you and gives you gold.

COUP DE GRACE
deal more damage to low HP champions.

this section covers mid Neeko's items/builds; you'll notice the item descriptions don't have any technical things or in-game stats included! this is due to me explaining how i understand/view the item in my head, without copy pasting the overcomplicated info that i don't really believe is relevant in my opinion.
STARTING BUY
DORAN'S RING ✦
you will want Doran's Ring for 90% of your games! it gives you mana restoration and your attacks do bonus damage against minions, ideal for csing.
DORAN'S BLADE ✦
this is for the 10% of your games that you will want to go Doran's Blade! good if you are against a champion that has built in MR in their kit, like Kassadin/ Galio! with doran's blade, make sure to W start, but don't max it out! we want W start with doran's blade to poke early with auto attacks bypassing the MR on these champs. after you start with W, just go Q max into E max like normal.

FIRST RECALL BUY
RECALLING W/ UNDER 300G
REFILLABLE POTION ✦
useful if you're against someone that pokes a lot, but usually the Health Potion + Biscuit Delivery are enough to sustain.
GLOWING MOTE ✦
i hate buying this component only on my recall, avoid buying this first if you can. it only builds into Fiendish Codex which we don't want to get first.
RECALLING W/ UNDER 400G
BOOTS ✦
good if you intend to roam, or want move speed against your laner to either catch up to them/dodge their abilities easier.
DARK SEAL ✦
if you get fed early this will help you snowball further.
RECALLING W/ UNDER 1100G
AMPLIFYING TOME ✦
decent if you only have 500g or under and this is all you can afford.
FIENDISH CODEX ✦
if you have a choice of buying this or two amplying tomes, ALWAYS BUY THE Amplifying Tome instead as you will only delay yourself from getting Hextech Alternator earlier.
RECALLING W/ 1100G OR MORE
HEXTECH ALTERNATOR ✦
the ideal first component to get on your first back, has a nice increase in damage.

BOOT CHOICE
SORCERER'S SHOES ✦
you usually will go sorc's a majority of your games. overall standard boot choice to buy.
MERCURY'S TREADS ✦
merc treads are good if you are struggling to lane against an AP midlaner or enemy has majority AP + CC.
PLATED STEELCAPS ✦
go tabis if the enemy has mainly AD champs (at least 4/5 enemies on the team) , or enemy AD champs are fed. you do not have to automatically go them if you are versus an AD midlaner though.

FULL ITEMS
HEXTECH ROCKETBELT ✦
neeko's bread and butter item. super crucial, helps with her mobility and landing her ult better.
SHADOWFLAME ✦
a lot of ap/magic pen w/ passive that crits against low HP enemies.
STORMSURGE ✦
best for burst build due to it's passive.
ZHONYA'S HOURGLASS ✦
crucial item to neeko's survivalbility when she tries to engage. this will negate enemies efforts to reactively hit you.
RABADON'S DEATHCAP ✦
huge increase in ap.
CRYPTBLOOM ✦
heals in a big radius when you get a takedown. this item's value in a teamfight is insane; more of a late game item.
MEJAI'S SOULSTEALER ✦
good to go if you're fed/dark seal is maxed out. sell it if you keep dying/fall off tempo wise.
LUDEN'S ECHO ✦
similar to stormsurge, but very unpopular in comparison. acts like a Hextech Alternator itemfied, where it does bonus burst damage from you hitting an ability.
VOID STAFF ✦
late game magic pen item.
LIANDRY'S TORMENT ✦
does % max health damage/burns, good against tanks even though neeko is not the ideal tank shredder.
BLACKFIRE TORCH ✦
does burn damage + it's passive synergizes with neeko's ult (each champion affected by the burn increases your ap), which is good in teamfights.
BLOODLETTER'S CURSE ✦
good if they're stacking magic resistance and your team has 3+ AP champs, even though you aren't the ideal person to be buying MR shred.
ABYSSAL MASK ✦
more of a tank/support item since you get no AP from this, but good if enemy has fed ap and so does your team.
MALIGNANCE ✦
has magic resistance shred and gives you ultimate haste + burns anyone in your ultimate.
BANSHEE'S VEIL ✦
the magic resistance version of Zhonya's Hourglass. this is good if enemy AP is fed/they have a lot of CC.
MID LANE
while Neeko mid's popularity has been dying off recently, she still has value and can be fun to play! she has a game changing/teamfight winning ult Pop Blossom and a lot of good roam potential with her disguise passive Inherent Glamour, and can easily turn the tides of a fight right before an objective!
EARLY GAME
neeko's early game is very crucial and determines the outcome of the rest of her game phase behavior. if you play passive against scalers and don't take advantage of your early game priority and damage, you're doomed.
EARLY WARDING ✦
for early warding at the start of the game before minions come, you want to stay in a bush either top if you're blue (left side) or bottom if you're red (right side), and then leave the bush at around 0:45 to get your Stealth Ward off.

the Stealth Ward doesn't have to be specifically where it is on the image, however it needs to be at least in the general area. we want to Stealth Ward here to track where enemy jungleis starting. if we see them on the camp, we know they're starting on that side. if we don't see them by the time the Stealth Ward dies, we know the jungleis starting on the other side.

additionally helps your own jungleout to be aware where enemy jungleis as well. we don't want to go too early or else enemy junglewill see us placing the Stealth Ward and break it, and we don't want to go too late either or else camps might be gone already by the time we try to ward.
early warding map guide
EARLY LANING ✦
for early laning phase, Neeko is supposed to play for control and pressure, not play passive and try to scale. here are my tips/advice for how to optimize your laning phase efficiently:
abuse range and poke constantly
we use her auto attacks with W passive Inherent Glamour to harass whenever the enemy walks up to last hit. especially into melee mids, the matchup feels unfair. if they step up, we look for E Tangle-Barbs + Q Blooming Burst combo and take a heavy trade.

control the wave with Q
her Q clears caster minions well, so we aim to slow push early waves and crash to get priority. that gives us room to help with scuttle, warding, or creating roam pressure. Neeko does not really want to perma freeze unless jungle pressure forces it.

angle root through minions
her E becomes stronger if it passes through units, so positioning matters a lot. we want to throw it through the wave to get the longer root duration and a higher chance of hitting the enemy. a connected empowered root into Q combo usually means we win the trade. be aware that the further away an enemy is, the easier it makes it for them to dodge your root. this is where the Flash + Tangle-Barbs root combo can be useful if you really need to secure the kill, as the enemy usually won't be able to expect/react that fast to it.

threaten level 6 all in
once Neeko hits 6, her kill pressure spikes. if the enemy mid is chunked, we hover in fog or disguise with passive Inherent Glamour and look for a flash + ult combo play. we don't have to even force it, as even just holding that threat forces respect from enemy mid laner.

use passive / w creatively
we disguise with passive to fake roams, get bonus range/ Attack Speed to CS better, or create hesitation. use Shapesplitter clone and make itrecall in lane/vision while you roam or fake a roam, as even small mind games generate tempo.

bonus tips:
✦︎ if enemy laner is hard to deal with, you can roam to help other lanes get ahead.
✦︎ if behind you can skip Shadowflame and go Zhonya's Hourglass to play utility for team.
✦︎ keep in mind that when Neeko is behind, it can be hard to sidelane against enemies mid game. it already is hard enough for Neeko to sidelane even if she has kills, and she excels far better when playing with the team.
EARLY ROAMING ✦
the best time is after we crash a slow push into tower. if we slow push the first couple waves and then hard shove with our Q, Blooming Burst, so the wave fully hits their turret, that is our window. the enemy mid has to stay and last hit or they lose gold and xp, so we get tempo. that is when we can move. roaming is also good when we chunk the enemy low and they have torecall. if they base, we immediately look at side lanes or river if we don't have to recall either (no gold to spend and not low mana/HP).

roaming works best when one of these is true:
✦︎ enemy bot lane is pushed up
✦︎ our jungler is fighting for scuttle/invading
✦︎ enemy top lane is overextended.

if there is no setup, roaming just wastes time and we fall behind.

another underrated timing is when we hit level 6 first. if we get prio and hit 6 before the enemy mid does, we can fake a base either by getting out of vision or faking a recall with our Shapesplitter clone, walk into fog, and look for a flash ult angle bot or top. even the threat forces sums. what is not good is roaming on a bad wave. if we leave while the wave is pushing toward us, we lose plates and xp, which puts us really behind. so the simple rule is we roam when we have prio, when our ult is available, or when the enemy is forced to answer the wave. otherwise we stay mid and keep pressuring.

when roaming, never be default Neeko. we want to be a minion, our jungler, or a camp. this makes it less obvious on the minimap that we are roaming if we get spotted by a scuttle crab or Stealth Ward. instead of appearing as a Neeko icon, we look like a tiny dot on the map!

when looking at these icons, which one looks more obvious to you?

this trick can even get the best of players, like pros such as C9 Vulcan/C9 Zven! clip proof will be added shortly :).
basically, early Neeko gameplay is all about keeping tempo and pressure. if we just afk farm, we are not really using her strength window correctly.
MID GAME
neeko's mid game is all about playing off of what she did early. also this is the stage of the game where you do not want to be overusing neeko disguise, or else enemy will already be used to expecting it when objectives are up.
MID LANING ✦
play around vision and fog
we do not want to just show on waves for no reason. Neeko's entire mid game identity is surprise! we want to sit in fog, sweep vision, and hover around choke points. if the enemy face checks, we punish them with our E + ult instantly.

look for flank angles
front to back teamfighting is not ideal unless we are fed. we want side angles. coming from behind a wall, raptor pit, river brush, etc. Flash + Pop Blossom ult from fog often can win fights pretty easily.

use passive to disguise engages
we disguise as a teammate and walk with the group so the enemy cannot track where Neeko actually is. sometimes we can copy the frontline and walk forward confidently so the enemy mispositions, or do the opposite, and copy a carry/squishy in the backline to get enemies to focus us and then ult them once they jump on us.

control side waves safely
if ult is down, we do not randomly fight. we can push a side wave because her Q, Blooming Burst clears fast, but we also need to respect vision. remember, Neeko is not a real split pusher, so we just want to respond to shoved in waves and push it back, then move back to hover team when it's dangerous to move further into enemies' side of the map.

play around Pop Blossom ult cooldown
this is the most important thing. if ult is up, we actively look for plays. if it is down, we farm or poke. her mid game revolves around that cooldown window.

Neeko's mid game is about looking for picks/forcing bad positioning. if we just stand mid throwing our q's, we are wasting her strongest spike. she is strongest when the enemy feels unsafe walking anywhere.
LATE GAME
Neeko's late game is very similar to her mid game, where you're playing with/around your team for your Pop Blossom ultimate. you really don't want to be sidelaning or 1v1 dueling here; just play with the team/for objectives. you also want to be in perma Inherent Glamour disguise, never being visible as default Neeko. this will always keep enemies on edge, guessing who/where you are.
this covers all of the support chapters for neeko support! currently working on linking everything so far/completing the actual chapters first!
this sections covers the rune pages/explanations for neeko support, which includes standard poke neeko, tank neeko (invented by me), and utility neeko (also invented by me). other questions you can ask yourself if the explainations below don't help are:
✦︎ who wins early 2v2?
✦︎ does my team have engage?
✦︎ does my ADC want long fights or short trades?
✦︎ does enemy comp dive or kite?
WHEN TO GO POKE VS TANK VS UTILITY?
pick comet with the goal of winning lane, chipping HP constantly, force early prio, and snowball plates. good into melee supports/squishy enemy team comps. comet neeko is best when you're playing with a lane-focused ADC, like:

also good to go comet when enemy bot lane is short range, like:
we want to avoid going Arcane Comet when enemy has heavy sustain, like Soraka, Sona, Yuumi, enemy has strong all-in like Nautilus + Tristana, your ADC scales and doesn’t want to fight early, or your team lacks frontline.
pick aftershock when you need to be primary engage, survive after casting ult Pop Blossom, be the frontline for backline, your team has no tank, enemy comp wants to dive, or you’re vs hard engage lane, like Leona/ Nautilus. also good with champions who benefit from clumped enemies, need someone else to frontline for them, like:
we want to avoid going aftershock when you can’t safely proc it (enemy outranges you), your team already has strong engage, or you need to enable hypercarry more than engage, like having a comet Varus. remember, Aftershock makes you more stable, but less oppressive.
pick glacial augment when you need to lock enemies in place, enable your carry, scale into teamfights, your team already has enough damage, teamfights are front to back, your ADC is sustained DPS like:

or enemy team has mobility like:

we want to avoid picking Glacial Augment when you need lane dominance early, your ADC is burst-oriented, or enemy lane massively outranges you, like Zyra for example. remember, Glacial Augment trades early pressure for midgame control.
POKE RUNES
this is your support poke page that is viable for all new + experienced players, and overall a decent page for pretty much any match up. we want comet for easy poke, axiom arcanist for increased ult damage/haste, transcendence for ability haste, scorch for damage, biscuit for sustain in lane, and cosmic insight for ability/item haste (adds/synergizes with transcendence). for mini runes, we want double adaptive force for that bit of bonus ap, and heath scaling for more HP.

BISCUIT DELIVERY
get a biscuit; consuming it permanently increases max health.

BISCUIT DELIVERY
get a biscuit; consuming it permanently increases max health.

COSMIC INSIGHT
gain 15 summoner spell haste and 10 item haste.
UTILITY RUNES
this is your support utility page.

GLACIAL AUGMENT
CCing a champion causes icy zones to appear on the enemy who gets slowed + reduced damage.

MAGICAL FOOTWEAR
gain boots that give you +10 MS at 12 minutes. takedowns reduce the timer by 45s each.

BISCUIT DELIVERY
gain a biscuit, that gives you HP, 3 times at 2, 4, and 6 minutes in.

APPROACH VELOCITY
gain bonus MS towards CC'd enemies.
SECOND WIND
gain HP back after taking damage.

FONT OF LIFE
slowing/CCing an enemy heals you and a nearby ally.
SUPPORT ITEM
CELESTIAL OPPOSITION ✦
default support item for neeko. good for negating some damage when engaging with ult Pop Blossom.
SOLSTICE SLEIGH ✦
gives you MS/healing if you CC an enemy.
ZAZ'ZAK'S REALMSPIKE ✦
go this if you're the only AP champ on team/fed early.

BOOT CHOICE
IONIAN BOOTS OF LUCIDITY ✦
standard boots. gives you ability haste to cast your abilites more frequently.
SORCERER'S SHOES ✦
only good if you're the only AP champion on your team/going full AP.
MERCURY'S TREADS ✦
gives you MR and tenacity (you don't get CC'd for as long as you would without them). good against teams that have a lot of CC or AP you need to tank through.
PLATED STEELCAPS ✦
makes you more resistant to auto attacks and AD damage.
BOOTS OF SWIFTNESS ✦
if there's a Janna/ Zilean or other enemies that can slow you down, these are decent to catch them. if you don't want to go these boots, you can still go Shurelya's Battlesong instead to speed up.

FULL ITEMS
HEXTECH ROCKETBELT ✦
good mobility + easier roaming.
ZHONYA'S HOURGLASS ✦
engage and survive the incoming damage + some bonus ap.
FROZEN HEART ✦
useful if you're against heavy AA champions like Master Yi or AD heavy team comps.
MEJAI'S SOULSTEALER ✦
if you max out Dark Seal this is a good upgrade if you're commiting to the AP damage build
KNIGHT'S VOW ✦
get this if enemy is focusing your ADC/carry. also gives armor stats so can go this against AD heavy comps as well.
SHURELYA'S BATTLESONG ✦
gives you + your team MS, good to catch up to enemies and ult them. think of it as a different form of Hextech Rocketbelt.
REDEMPTION ✦
synergies with your ult Pop Blossom for teamfights. has a semi long cast time so cast it right after you ult to get max value.
MIKAEL'S BLESSING ✦
an activate item that removes CC from an ally/heals a bit. good to buy if your ADC is getting targetted with CC that they can't dodge.
ZEKE'S CONVERGENCE ✦
my favorite item to rush as tank neeko. gives you tank stats (MR/ARMOR) + ultimate haste.
BANDLEPIPES ✦
a lot of tank supports are rushing this item currently in patch [26.04]. it gives you MS and allies attack speed whenever you CC someone. pretty decent item to try if you haven't yet.
WARMOG'S ARMOR ✦
a pricey item, but will boost your HP up. very late game item to buy.
FORCE OF NATURE ✦
gives you MS and a lot of magic resistance.
SPIRIT VISAGE ✦
gives you Ability Haste + magic resistance; good if you have someone on your team that heals/shields too, like Ivern.
KAENIC ROOKERN ✦
a HUGE influx of magic resistance. good to build if you're against a lot of AP or an AP champion on enemy team is incredibly fed.
ABYSSAL MASK ✦
if both your team and enemy team has fed AP champions, this is a perfect buy.
HOLLOW RADIANCE ✦
i would buy this purely for the magic resistance stats, the passive damage isn't really made for tank neeko.
THORNMAIL ✦
usually you will only buy the Bramble Vest component if enemy is healing a lot, like Soraka/ Aatrox, and only commit to buying the full item if you need the armor/resistance to auto attacks.
RANDUIN'S OMEN ✦
buy this if enemy has a lot of crit (can tell this if they're going IE or other items that have the crit stat). the passive active is good for after you ult as well.
TRAILBLAZER ✦
gives you MS/armor + MS that stacks up.
DEAD MAN'S PLATE ✦
similar to Trailblazer, you get a stacking MS however this is more of a tank/brusier item than a support item.
SHADOWFLAME ✦
a lot of ap/magic pen w/ passive that crits against low HP enemies.
RABADON'S DEATHCAP ✦
huge increase in ap.
MALIGNANCE ✦
has magic resistance shred and gives you ultimate haste + burns anyone in your ultimate.
STORMSURGE ✦
best for burst build due to it's passive.
CRYPTBLOOM ✦
heals in a big radius when you get a takedown. this item's value in a teamfight is insane; more of a late game item.
BOTLANE SYNERGIES
this section covers what types of ADCs there are, what they do,
and what they need Neeko to do for them so they can perform their best.

━━ HYPERCARRY ADCs ━━
scale and carry late game

Neeko needs to:
✦︎ keep them alive while they farm
✦︎ be defensive and play to peel them
✦︎ play safe laning instead of taking risky fights (use utility to disengage enemies)

━━ LANE BULLY ADCs ━━
win early and snowball

Neeko needs to:
✦︎ be an aggressive support
✦︎ be willing to fight constantly
✦︎ engage and maintain kill pressure

━━ UTILITY ADCs ━━
provide team value beyond damage

Neeko needs to:
✦︎ have vision and map control
✦︎ provide follow-up CC (help them set up catches)
✦︎ coordinate your abilities with each other (play around their engage tools)

━━ ABILITY-CASTER ADCs ━━
poke/burst with spells

Neeko needs to:
✦︎ have lane control
✦︎ land good teamfight engage that combos with ultimates
✦︎ provide reliable CC (so they can hit their abilites easier)

ADC TIERLISTS
below are tierlists for all of neeko's synergies with each ADC, which include standard poke neeko, tank neeko, and utility neeko. HOWEVER you should never solely pick Neeko off of your own ADC's selection. look at the rest of your team, enemy team, imagine what laning phase is going to be like, etc. these tierlists are just a visualizer to make it easier for you to understand pairings.

UTILITY NEEKO

SUPPORT
while Neeko support isn't as popular as traditional engage supports, she offers incredible pick potential, creative roams, and game-changing engages with Pop Blossom. thanks to Inherent Glamour and Shapesplitter, she is one of the most unpredictable supports in the game and excels at creating chaos around the map.
EARLY GAME
support Neeko is all about creating pressure. unlike enchanters that want to sit back and scale, Neeko wants to fight for lane control, look for picks, and constantly threaten roams.

EARLY LANING ✦

abuse your range and poke
we use our auto attacks and empowered W passive to constantly harass the enemy whenever they walk up for minions. against short-ranged ADCs and melee supports, this poke adds up quickly and makes it easier to threaten an all in.

look for E + Q trades
if an enemy mispositions, we immediately look for Tangle-Barbs into Blooming Burst. landing an empowered root through minions usually wins the trade and can even force enemy summoners early.

control brushes
sitting in lane brushes makes it much harder for enemies to react to your roots. constantly move in and out of vision to create pressure and make the enemy second guess where you're standing.

play around level spikes
level 2 and level 6 are huge spikes for Neeko support. if you hit level 2 first, instantly look for an aggressive trade. once level 6 comes around, every root can potentially turn into a kill with Pop Blossom.

bonus tips:
✦︎ use Shapesplitter to check dangerous bushes before face-checking.
✦︎ your clone can block certain skillshots.
✦︎ against engage supports, save your root to peel if necessary.
✦︎ sometimes simply threatening your abilities is enough to create pressure.

FIRST RECALL ✦

buy Boots if possible
movement speed is extremely valuable on Neeko support since it lets us move between lanes faster and find better roam timers. if we cannot afford boots, that's completely fine.

look for gank opportunities
before leaving base, quickly check your solo lanes.

✦︎ the minion wave is not pushed completely into the enemy tower.
✦︎ neither laner is about torecall due to low HP or mana.
✦︎ the enemy is overextended or playing aggressively.

make sure your ADC is safe
before roaming, always look at your bot wave. if your ADC is getting shoved into tower while both enemy laners are pressuring, do not roam. your ADC becomes vulnerable to dives and loses too much pressure without you.

if your ADC can safely farm or the wave is pushing away from your tower, then you can look to move.

roam as the first melee minion
the best disguise is usually the first melee minion in either the mid or top lane wave, with mid lane generally being preferred since you can quickly return to bot afterward.

be patient
there is no need to throw your root the moment you see someone. wait for a high percentage angle and let the enemy make the mistake first.

EARLY ROAMING ✦

roaming is one of Neeko support's biggest strengths.

roam when:

✦︎ your ADC can safely farm alone.
✦︎ your wave is pushing toward the enemy tower.
✦︎ enemy mid or top is overextended.
✦︎ your jungleris invading or fighting around river.

if none of these conditions are true, forcing a roam usually loses more than it gains.

use disguises creatively
never roam as default Neeko. we want to be a minion, our jungler, or a jungle camp. if we get spotted by a Stealth Ward or scuttle crab, we appear as a harmless dot on the minimap instead of revealing that Neeko is roaming.

VISION ✦

swap from Stealth Ward to Oracle Lens once your support item is around 350 gold completed so you can begin denying enemy vision before objectives.

always buy a Control Ward every time you recall.

once your support quest is completed and wards become cheaper, buying 2x Control Ward on recalls is completely fine.

a hidden Neeko is a dangerous Neeko. clearing vision makes your roots and ultimates significantly harder to react to and forces enemies to constantly respect your engage angles.
MID & LATE GAME

support Neeko plays very similarly to mid lane later into the game. we want to play around vision, stay grouped with our team, and constantly look for picks and flank angles with Pop Blossom. you do not want to be wandering alone or trying to duel people. your job is to create picks, force enemies to respect fog of war, and find game-winning ultimates around objectives and teamfights.

A HUGE THANK YOUUU to everyone who has voted on my guide so far, i can't belive my guide is at a perfect 10 rating despite it still being a work in progress!! this truly means so much to me TT i feel so motivated to keep working on this guide to help you waaa TT. i had to come up with a LOT of my own ideas for coding as sometimes i would have a vision in my head that is hard to visualize/doesn't exist already, which is frustrating initially but soo satisfying when it actually works! (im still scared of you, td/tr)
