If you're facing Aphelios in the early game, take advantage of his weaker state and punish him accordingly. It will prevent him from becoming a significant threat as the game progresses. To keep him under control, try to poke at him consistently. However, be cautious if he has his chakram weapon, as he can dish out damage quickly, making it difficult to match him. It's best not to engage him alone in this situation.
Ashe
Winning this matchup is simple, but don't underestimate her w and r since they can be the death of you. Also, be mindful of your positioning when fighting Ashe to avoid getting slowed down by her auto attacks.

Ezreal
Another skill matchup, so the only thing you need to do is watch out for his w + q combo and make sure he uses e and or his flash before engaging with him.

The big thing you need to be aware of in this matchup is to avoid fighting him when he has his fourth shot since it does more damage based on your missing health. Instead, attack him only when he's out of bullets and is reloading.
Jinx
Jinx gains extra range with autos when she has her rocket launcher out. Always be aware of her mana bar and punish her during that time. After that, it's mostly a game of cat and mouse with Jinx. Still, this matchup is pretty easy if you play it safe.
Kai'Sa
Kai'Sa's burst and her ability to break vision with her evolved supercharge separate you from winning all the trades and fights. Avoid taking too much damage from her passive, and you'll be better off in this matchup.
Kalista
This matchup is skill-reliant because of the mobility in her passive. The abilities you need to focus on are her rend & ultimate, making this matchup harder during extended fights. Watch your health bar around Kalista and coordinate with your team to take her down.
Kog'Maw
Kog'Maw is easy to take down, so just don't let him kill you too much or feed him. The big thing to do is poke him down in the lane often before level 6.
Lucian
This matchup isn't hard, but bait his dash out before channelling your ultimate. Make sure to poke him often using make it rain for good damage, and avoid taking long trades with Lucian unless you get the upper hand.
Nilah
Watch out for Nilah's jubilant veil (w), which dodges basic attacks and reduces magic damage & apotheosis (r) that interrupts your bullet times channel and pulls you close. Preventing her from last hitting minions denies the bonus gold and experience from her passive. A tough matchup for you if you make too many mistakes.
Samira
She is very mobile with wild rush (resets on takedown), alongside her blade whirl that can block double up, ultimate and your auto attacks. Both of these abilities help with stacking her passive. Fighting Samira is hard because she has safe laning with her flair ability and gets life steal early on to survive our poke damage. Make sure to have healing reduction available to deal with her effectively.
Sivir
The easiest way to beat Sivir in fights is to avoid taking too much damage from her q poke and be mindful of her positioning. Apart from that, she's easy for you to deal with in the lane.
Tristana
This champion out-scales you if she gets ahead. Her all-in potential is very potent, so avoid being shoved too far. It's best to play safe and get your support to bait out her skills, thus giving you a window to pounce on her after she is on cooldown.
Twitch
This matchup is straightforward, dodge his w ability to avoid being affected by the poison and take a hit from his contaminate ability. Be sure to watch out if he goes invisible too.
Varus
He outranges you massively in the lane and has a larger poke radius with his q, e and r. Due to this range difference you could get poked out and set behind.
Vayne
Vayne is only a threat unless she picks up a few early takedowns. Vayne's condemn ability is also something to watch out for since it will cancel your ultimate and pin you into a wall or structure, so do your best to position yourself safely when attacking her. She scales well in long games, so you should keep an eye on her.
Xayah
Just keep track of her movements and feather placements to avoid getting rooted by her ultimate and have it lead to you potentially dying. Xayah's ultimate can dodge our abilities (becoming untargetable), so try to bait her ultimate before you engage for the best results.
Zeri
Dealing with Zeri is straightforward during the lane phase. She can slow us down with her w and gains movement speed as she attacks with her ultimate. All you need to do is poke her down at every turn and do your best to avoid her empowered w (guaranteed crit) that anchors off walls and structures.
Alistar
Alistar's unique perk is his passive Triumphant Roar, which will constantly heal you so long as he gains the stacks (7) needed to activate it. In addition, his crowd control makes your kit function nicely and synergizes with your e/r combo.
Amumu
Amumu has excellent tools to help you snowball effectively and give you a gold lead on your opponent. His bandage toss & curse of the sad mummy abilities are great for locking down targets and making them susceptible to your make it rain/bullet time combo or hitting them with a double-up shot.
Ashe
While Ashe is a decent champion with tons of poke and a stunning ultimate, I'd look elsewhere since you are both pretty vulnerable, which means your survivability can be hard to guarantee.
Bard
Bard is great for the healing totems and the ult that puts you in stasis from harm or accidentally hinders your ult by mistake. The biggest thing you need to deal with when partnered with a Bard is the roaming he does. Talk to him to establish a plan of attack so you can base safely or survive while he's gone looking for his meeps.
Blitzcrank
Unlike Nautilus, Blitzcrank's q gives him a hook that pulls the enemy toward him and his carry/team, his e is a knock-up, & finally, his r gives him the ability to silence and damage an enemy who is looking to pounce on you. The r from Blitz can be great when setting up your ultimate after he does his initial q-e combo.
Brand
A burst mage that offers very little utility for you in the lane. He does have a decent poke that he can apply on the enemy bot and support. If they land a q stun after an e or w, prepare the cannons.
Braum
Braum q and his passive allow a quick burst of damage after the stun is applied. His w can give you more resistance to physical and magic damage, his e shields you from incoming damage & his r knocks the enemy up, and he has great synergy when you ult.
Galio
Galio is a strong tank that rarely sees much support play. His w is a taunt that is very helpful when gathering opponents to ult or even a single target you want to isolate, while his e is good at knocking up a target you want to chase down.
Janna
She has decent shielding potential with her e, good enemy disruption with her q and healing with her ultimate, making your lane phase poke heavy while still being healthy. Additionally, Janna can shield turrets giving you time to base and get back to the lane while minimizing turret and self-damage.
Karma
Karma is a strong support option for Miss Fortune. She can empower all her abilities with added effects: q gets an enhanced slow, her w grants her a self-heal on contact, and her e-shield empowers all her nearby allies instead of one ally. Great when looking to peel you out and set up kills in the lane.
Leona
Leona is fantastic as support for Miss Fortune. She has plenty of ways to stun the opponent for you (q stun, e root and r stun/slow). In addition, she can give Miss Fortune great peel and target access to flashy ults or clean kills. So always look to get Leona if you need a tank in the lane.
Lulu
Lulu support has plenty of ways to keep you safe. She has a q that slows the enemy, a w that polymorphs the enemy while granting movement/attack speed when cast on you, an e that slows them down and grants a shield and her fairy pix when applied to you, and an ultimate that makes you bigger and gives your more health.
Lulu is a very good enchanter if you need shielding and survivability.
Lux
Lux q and e are good sources of poke for you to work off. It will allow you to walk up the lane and farm with ease. If she hits (q), you gain a big window where both you and she can help ult for massive damage.
Maokai
Maokai's strengths lie in his q knockback, w root and r root. Make sure to coordinate your attacks carefully since Maokai's abilities are very predictable and telegraphed. When damaging an enemy with his ult or (w), that is when you should unleash your ultimate and dish out some good damage.
Milio
Milio is an enchanter support that provides healing, shielding, and a skill shot that stuns or knocks the enemy back. Finally, his ultimate includes removing all crowd control you might be affected by. Milio is an excellent option for Miss Fortune should you need healing and shielding in a pinch and should be requested as a support when dealing with heavy crowd control teams.
Morgana
Morgana is your typical dot mage support with heavy crowd control access. She has a 3-second q that can lock down any target it hits, a w that applies a dot burn, a black shield that will prevent you from any magic damage sources or crowd control spell that hits you, and a close-range lockdown ultimate that stuns if she keeps them in range long enough.
Her kit with yours allows you to poke lane hard and give you strong snowballing.
Nami
Nami's healing and damage are potent when compared to other enchanter supports. She has a great peel with (q), a good heal spell with (w) and an (e) that will apply her spell effects. Don't hesitate to fight the enemy when Nami puts her e on you. Her r knock-up will give a great window of opportunity to do considerable damage with your ultimate and act as a peel for you in a pinch.
Nautilus
Nautilus q gives him a hook that pulls him closer to the target, (w) creates a root, his (e) a slow. Lastly, his (r) allows you to isolate a running enemy or target someone looking to pounce on you.
Pantheon
Point click w, shield blocking (e), and a strong poke from his (q) Pantheon can do it all for you. Once he hits (w), be ready to follow up and start punishing the enemy.
Pyke
When you have Pyke as your duo, you need to understand the golden rule: he will pull them back to you with q and stun with e and set up kills for you pre-6. After he gets to level (6), it's a bidding war for kills, but don't fret. If Pyke gets a kill and you were part of the takedown, you'll gain gold, so don't get too mad (even if it does) that he got the kill since you both are getting rich due to his passive.
Rakan
Rakan is a jack-of-all-trades support. His kit can heal you if he hits an enemy with q, knock them up with his w, shield you twice with e and charm them with r. Rakan has the tools to make great plays while dealing damage in duels and team fights. However, he is squishy, be mindful of his positioning at all times.
Rell
Rell provides great peel for you since she can give you armor and magic resistance aura with her e, and when close to enemies, she can stun them. Additionally, with Rell, her r can pull in enemies, which allows your e + r combo to be clean and precise.
Renata Glasc
Her passive is similar to the imperial mandate item that gives you a burst of damage when you pop the mark. Renata can grab them with a hook projectile, provide shielding and provide a two-part w ability: part 1 - attack speed/movement speed, part 2 - prevent your death so long as you get a takedown during that time. Now, this is where she shines with you because her ultimate will make your ultimate hard to miss since she clusters the enemies and forces them to attack each other while you are hitting them with waves of cannon balls. She can create flashy highlights and could also provide a penta kill.
Senna
Strong poke support that can heal, lockdown the opponent & cloak you in a self-peeling untargetable mist, then finally, a shield damaging ultimate. As far as synergy, there is little for you, but she's by no means a bad option to keep you healthy and gives a good setup for your kit and ultimate.
Seraphine
Seraphine is the same idea as Sona but with a different form of q poke, while her w doesn't heal as much but provides shielding for you in a pinch. The best thing about this duo is that Seraphine's r pairs well with your r.
Get ready for your duet.
Sona
Sona is your classic healer with good poke and strong sustain for you and her. The ability to make you faster and healthier means she is invaluable to your survival in the lane. Her r synergies nicely with yours, so time them accordingly for massive damage.
Soraka
Strong support who can heal you on the fly, though at the cost of her health when using w. She heals herself with q (if the enemy is damaged) and others using her (w) global r ult. Be mindful of her health bar before you fight so you don't kill her while she tries to heal you.
Swain
Swain has two helpful forms of crowd control - a w that slows for you and an e that holds them in place for you, which is pleasant to have when looking to make a pick or when needing to escape combat. Overall strong peel and decent damage in a pinch while being relatively tanky throughout the game as he acquires soul fragments with his passive.
Taric
Taric is your best friend when it comes to protection in the game, he can heal on the spot, provide more armor/shielding for you, stun them for you and make you invulnerable when in a pinch.
Thresh
Thresh is a scaling support champion from top to bottom. He provides a hook skill shot to pull them in, a lantern to click on for quick getaways, and the ability to control the direction of the attackers he catches with q or by itself using his e, while Thresh's ultimate is a cage that slows for great setup on your ultimate. What more could you want?
Vel'Koz
He has tons of poke-based abilities that can disrupt the enemy into positioning in bad spots. In addition, you can farm relatively safely with his high burst poke and assist him nicely during fights.
Xerath
When paired with Xerath, do your best to manage your lane state effectively. His powerful abilities can be beneficial in landing ults or even securing takedowns during trades and skirmishes.
Yuumi
Yuumi grants you on-hit magic damage upon hitting the enemy with her q, on-hit healing with her w and shielding with her e when attached to you. Although compared to most other supports, she may not be the best option for Miss Fortune, she can ensure you are healthy enough to last in long fights or skirmishes.
Zilean
Zilean provides you with faster levelling, increased movement speed when engaging and looking to disengage on his e and a mobile guardian angel r to get you out of sticky situations.
Zyra
Zyra's grasping roots ability is excellent for holding them in place for your make-it-rain/bullet time combo or landing a double-up bounce. Additionally, her plants provide good harassment and damage over time to the enemy. If you are satisfied with this pick, coordinate a game plan to make your kits work together.

Synergies
IdealStrongOkLowNone
Lulu

I specialize in the bot lane, and the marksman champion I prefer to use is Miss Fortune. As you read this guide, you'll discover team compositions that work well with her abilities and get recommendations for suitable items.
With my guidance, you can improve your skills when playing as Miss Fortune.
So, let's get started with my guide on Miss Fortune - The Bounty Hunter!
Miss Fortune - The Bounty Hunter Marksman, Bottom Lane
Specialties: Sustained Damage, Ranged Why choose Miss Fortune?:
- This champion is relatively easy to understand and learn.
- She deals excellent damage against targets during trades, has strong farming potential, and is effective at securing objectives such as turrets/ dragons or baron nashor.
- Has the potential to carry the game, make big plays, and is a great team fight asset.
I always enjoy playing Miss Fortune, and I hope you will too.
Love Tap provides Miss Fortune, extra attack damage against champions (halved when used against minions). To efficiently use this ability while farming or trading, try to hit new targets such as minions, champions, turrets or neutral objectives as often as possible to maximize your extra damage. Remember that if you repeatedly hit a target already affected by Love Tap, the damage will decrease during extended fights.
The bonus damage from Love Tap will also trigger life steal effects on each target hit.
Double Up is Miss Fortune's signature ability outside of her ultimate ( Bullet Time), allowing you to bounce a cannonball from one target to another. Be mindful to refrain from spamming this ability, as you will quickly run out of mana. Good for last hits on minions or to bounce off near-dead minions, critically striking a champion for massive damage.
When paired with Infinity Edge, you'll amplify the damage of a critically striking Double Up bounce.
Strut
| Cooldown: 12 | Cost: 45 Mana |
Miss Fortune benefits significantly from using Strut as it allows her to trade more effectively and secure objectives. Additionally, this ability grants a movement speed boost that ramps up if she has not taken damage for 5 seconds.
When activated, Strut gives Miss Fortunemovement speed at its current rank and increases attack speed for 4 seconds. Additionally, using Love Tap on different enemies will reduce the cooldown of this ability by 2 seconds.
When Miss Fortune respawns, she will receive movement speed equal to the current rank of Strut, allowing her to return faster.
One of your signature poke spells for Miss Fortune is Make it Rain, which deals magic damage and slows the target(s) hit. It's an excellent choice for initiating fights or retreating from the enemy. When used with Dark Harvest, it can help you accumulate soul stacks and provide access to the enemy in the backline, even if tanks or other frontline champions are protecting them.
Bullet Time is a potent ability that can significantly damage enemies in 3 seconds. This skill is beneficial during team fights when combined with your or your teammates' abilities. With Bullet Time, you can create opportunities for your team to gain the upper hand and force the enemy team to move closer to your teammates.
To maximize the damage dealt, try combining Bullet Time alongside Infinity Edge, granting each wave the ability to critical strike.
Combos:
I will share simple and practical combinations while playing Miss Fortune in Summoners Rift games, whether in draft or ranked modes. These combos will be easy to understand and implement.

Tips & Tricks:
Playing As Miss Fortune:
- You can use the ability Double Up to hit targets hiding in nearby bushes by bouncing off minions.
- To maintain the your Strut's passive, get shielding effects from runes or buffs such as Overheal, or the mountain dragon soul.
- To avoid face-checking bushes, you can use the ability Make it Rain as a scouting tool.
- To deal the most damage to the enemy with Bullet Time, position it in choke points, ensuring that each wave of bullets hits the enemy.
Playing Against Miss Fortune:
- Avoid being near minions when farming against her to avoid damage from her second Double Up bounce.
- When damaged Miss Fortune will lose the bonus movement speed from Strut, making it easier to chase her down.
- Stay mobile to avoid the damage from her Make it Rain- Bullet Time combo, especially when paired with potent initiators.
- Use your crowd control/impairment abilities when Miss Fortune activates Bullet Time, cancelling the channel.
As a Miss Fortune player, it's crucial to have a solid understanding of the primary objectives for each game stage. Keeping this in mind can make all the difference in your performance.
- Early game: In the game's early stages, your primary goal should be to gather as many minions as possible to earn both gold and experience. It will enable you to buy your essential items, giving you an edge over your opponent.
Another tactic is to deny your opponent access to gold and experience by setting up a freeze or trading with them.
Additionally, it's essential to keep an eye on the enemy jungle and ward off the area to prevent any unexpected attacks.
- Mid-game: Moving into the mid-game, it's time to group up with your team and focus on team fighting and securing objectives like Baron Nashor, Rift Herald, or Dragons. Exercise caution when collecting waves or jungle camps, and always be mindful of your opponent's location to avoid falling into an ambush and getting eliminated.
- Late game: You must make strategic decisions to secure victory in the late game. It may involve pushing lanes, focusing on objectives, or team fighting to take down the enemy nexus. Staying focused and making intelligent moves is essential, as a single mistake can be costly at this stage.
Things to consider:
Before prioritizing early objectives like dragons, one must consider the potential dangers of wandering around the map:
- How much could you gain/lose when roaming compared to staying lane?
- What are the risks to me?
- Will I get ahead from roaming, or will I need to catch up?
Assessing whether your involvement in team fights will impact the outcome or objective is critical. If it won't, it may be more beneficial to maintain pressure on the map from your current location.
To maximize your chances of victory as Miss Fortune, only engage with Double Up, Make it Rain, or Bullet Time once your enemies are in a favourable position to apply the most significant damage output.
Flash: An essential spell for Miss Fortune that you should pick for your games 100% of the time. Since you don't have access to any form of self-peel, Flash assists when caught out or stuck in rough situations allowing you to escape safely, dodging any crucial abilities.
Heal: Another must-have spell for Miss Fortune, providing healing and a small movement speed bonus. An excellent choice for Miss Fortune that can give you that little boost needed to escape skill shots or get you and a teammate out of a jam. The downside is that subsequent Heal spells applied to you within a short window are less effective, so refrain from taking this spell if your support is getting it. If both of you have it, coordinate them appropriately for the best results.
Exhaust: Effective for Miss Fortune when facing champions like Draven, Katarina, Master Yi, or LeBlanc, who can easily defeat you. Furthermore, its slow effect and damage reduction provides an excellent opportunity to defeat an opponent, flee from combat, or reduce damage received during fights and battles.
Cleanse: Very effective against champions with high crowd control, such as Lux, Morgana, Leona, or Ashe, breaking free from crowd control effects, then gain protection from future disabling effects and additional tenacity for the next few seconds.
Note that Cleanse won't protect you from champions such as Sett, Nocturne, Bard, that possess abilities with suppression, near sight, airborne, stasis effects or, if affected by the grievous wounds debuff from Ignite.
Activating this spell after theimmobilizing status hits you (not beforehand) ensures you can break the effect and can escape a dangerous situation.
- When looking to remove enemy vision from the map, always consider buying Control Wards. This ward reveals and disables enemy vision within a 900-unit radius. Control Wards function similarly to the Oracle Lens trinket, dealing with stealth & camouflaged based champions ( Twitch, Rengar, Evelynn and Kha'Zix) that approach them. When returning to the fountain, do your best to acquire one or two if you have spare gold.
- Farsight Alteration (available at level 9) is picked in 99.5% of games as Miss Fortune and helps when looking to split push or getting vision on objectives or other regions of the rift from a safe distance & prevents you from having to walk up to bushes and spot enemy flanks. Similar to Stealth Wards, it helps create vision needed in critical areas, but unlike Stealth Wards, this ward is visible to the enemy and fragile, meaning they will die the instant they are spotted.
- You should only grab Oracle Lens when dealing with stealth champions who plant traps, such as Teemo, Shaco, & Nidalee. It's also good against champions who use stealth abilities to engage/disengage, such as Twitch, Pyke, Wukong or Shaco.
- Stealth Ward is your main trinket in all games as Miss Fortune, revealing units within a target location. With the ability to place a max of three Stealth Wards on the map at any given time, you can create sightlines on essential regions of the map. Helpful when setting up vision while split pushing or when establishing deep vision in enemy territory or objectives ( baron nashor & dragons).
- Attack Damage: The best overall stat and most important for Miss Fortune due to her low base damage numbers. Acquiring it in each game helps her increase the damage values of all her damaging abilities and the damage of each Love Tap trigger. With each of her attack damage ability scalings being potent, every extra stat increase will be helpful for her. Always look to build this with each item purchased.
- Attack Speed: The next best stat you can have. Efficient on Miss Fortune for increased auto attacks and the improved cast time of your Double Up ability. While she doesn't scale with this stat compared to most champions, it's still something you should consider when you can.
- Life Steal: The most efficient healing stat to build when playing Miss Fortune. It can be triggered when applied through auto attacks/on-hit item effects and your Love Tap & Double Up abilities.
- Omni Vamp: Another healing option for Miss Fortune, though not as effective as life steal, but still a good stat to consider. Its healing comes from abilities and auto attacks we use in combat. Since we have limited options when itemizing for omni vamp, it's less prevalent on Miss Fortune.
- Health: This stat is essential in the grand scheme, but it's not something you need to focus on when playing as Miss Fortune. As a marksman, it's not a stat we would typically consider since we aren't a tank, but having health can be the difference between dying quickly or living longer.
- Ability Haste: Useful stat in theory on Miss Fortune, but not overly needed in the grand scheme. Best when looking to build around your abilities ( Double Up & Bullet Time) as your primary damage source.
- Armor/Magic Resistance: Getting armor and magic resistance on Miss Fortune is beneficial only if necessary for survival. The stats can be efficient in the right circumstances, but ultimately we prioritize something other than this compared to the other stat options.
- Movement Speed: This stat helps improve kiting and is helpful when escaping fights, dodging skill shots and other abilities. Not as prioritized on Miss Fortune, but efficient compared to the other available options.
Berserker's Greaves > Attack Speed Berserker's Greaves are the default selection in most games when playing Miss Fortune. They provide valuable attack speed needed to trade efficiently in each matchup and grant consistent damage against objectives such as turrets/ baron nashor or dragons.
Boots of Swiftness > Slow Reduction
This option is excellent on Miss Fortune when dealing with slowing effects applied to you in combat. They can vary from sources such as Ashe's Frost Shot/ Volley/ Serylda's Grudge/ Rylai's Crystal Scepter, or other movement impairing effects/abilities that would leave you vulnerable and make it hard for you to escape combat.
Mercury's Treads > Magic Resistance & Tenacity
Consider this option against many crowd control effects that could impair your survivability should you not be able to bring Cleanse. I recommend these Boots for their tenacity & magic resistance should the need arise. Great into teams with heavy magic damage threats.
Plated Steelcaps > Basic Attack Damage Reduction
I recommend this combat pair if you are in games with Miss Fortune, where the enemy team or your current matchup is all attack damage based. Very efficient against teams who are also auto-attack reliant.
Going the "no Boots" build path (using Zeal item replacements) along with your Strut passive to move about the map is viable, but my opinion is that when you are low and trying to escape, it will be a lot harder without Boots then compared to having them. So if you take the "no Boots" route, ensure sound positioning for the best results.
If you have to deal with poke champions or need the extra health/healing to sustain longer in early fights, I suggest starting Doran's Blade. The bonus health can be the difference between surviving difficult matchups or sustaining from jungle ambushing you.
If you have a matchup where you can snowball (all-in your opponent), it's best to go Long Sword. Another reason to consider this start is that you'll gain a faster advantage over your opponent when looking to complete your first item (aka mythic rush).
We will start with the Tear of the Goddess for more mana access during fights and skirmishes. It allows us to apply more damage with our abilities, creating more pressure in team fights, and it's also very nice when looking to transform our Manamune into Muramana.
Each of these starts can be very efficient and depend on whom you are facing and build path you intend to take.
-Critical Strike: Grab this in games where the targets on the enemy team are likely to build plenty of armor options, where you'll need that extra burst to bypass their armor. It can scale nicely into the late game.
-Lethality: This route is your best option when multiple targets on the enemy team are unlikely to build enough armor items or don't have naturally high armor ratings, allowing for a big early-game burst.
Critical Strike Build:
Mythic Items
Miss Fortune benefits significantly from using Galeforce as it compensates for her lack of dash abilities, making it an effective tool for both escaping and chasing down enemies. Furthermore, when paired with The Collector, it grants her additional power to take down enemy champions swiftly.
Infinity Edge is your bread-and-butter item for Miss Fortune since it scales with Double Up & Bullet Time, dealing massive damage with their bonus critical strike effects. Once acquired, it's an insane power spike and helpful when playing with crit as Miss Fortune.
To increase your chances of winning battles while playing as Miss Fortune, choosing the right mythic based on your opponent is essential. This decision can have a significant impact on your gameplay.
Core Items
The life steal gained from Bloodthirster helps increase your survivability in duels and team fights while also synergizing nicely with the rune Overheal.
Additionally, since your Double Up and Love Tap trigger life steal effects, you gain increased value from this item compared to other champions, allowing you to stay healthy during trades and skirmishes.
Rapid Firecannon enhances Miss Fortune's auto attack and Double Up range and adds on-hitmagic damage during battles. When used with Double Up, quickly attacking the target during the animation will result in added single-target damage.
With the execution from The Collector, you'll gain lots of gold, allowing you to reach your item power spikes sooner, thus enabling you to snowball your games relatively quickly. This item is an excellent buy on Miss Fortune for improved duelling potential.
Situational Items
Essence Reaver on Miss Fortune is a great item to solve mana regeneration issues you might have in fights. As an alternative to Manaflow Band, it restores a % of the damage dealt to champions as mana. Since you can trigger this effect with Miss Fortune's Double Up, it will shine when playing an on-hit build for more damage & pressure.
When dealing with dangerous opponents such as assassins or high-burst champions like Warwick, Pyke, or Talon, it's essential to protect yourself as Miss Fortune. Consider equipping an Immortal Shieldbow to sustain burst damage and keep yourself safe.
You will take Kraken Slayer when looking for extended trades when playing as Miss Fortune. This item deals additional physical damage after every third hit, increasing as you strike the same target repeatedly in combat.
It works incredibly well when stacking on-hit effects against your targets.
Miss Fortune can benefit greatly from using Phantom Dancer as one of her item choices. This item provides a ghosting effect that helps you maintain your distance or chase down opponents you want to eliminate. It can be especially effective when paired with other items with on-hit effects ( Blade of the Ruined King, Wit's End).
Wit's End is a solid pick to consider when you're against magic damage champions such as LeBlanc, Karthus, Akali or Ekko. Its also effective when duelling as Miss Fortune since it provides on-hitmagic damage against your target.
Also strong when paired with other on-hit/on-attack item effects.
Lethality Build:
Mythic Items
Going with Duskblade of Draktharr is best against squishier team compositions or champions who only build a little armor. This mythic is an excellent choice for Miss Fortune when looking to deal extra ability damage to enemy champions based on their missing health. It grants untargetability, that activates upon killing a target you previously damaged within the last few seconds, which ends if you perform a follow-up action.
Eclipse is best picked on Miss Fortune when duelling tank/bruiser champion team comps & against targets who stack armor when playing lethality. Additionally, the ability haste offered with this mythic can aid you in getting more casts of your abilities in team fights & skirmishes.
Very efficient when needing some out-of-combat movement speed, gaining additional lethality, and the ability to walk through minions should you get caught in a sticky situation or don't have your Flash and need to make a quick getaway. Also helpful in situations where you are trying to chase down a low health target you want to finish off.
Each mythic item offers base movement speed increases per legendary, in addition to each of their unique passives effects, affording you more opportunities to chase down targets and additional escape potential in certain situations.
After examining each mythic item above, you need to decide which offers the best impact in-game, compared to which mythic best suits Miss Fortune in most of her matchups.
Core Items
Paired with Ultimate Hunter, Axiom Arc will reduce Bullet Time by a % of its max cooldown each time you secure a takedown within 3 seconds of damaging a target. Consider this item when relying on Bullet Time as your primary damage source or if you plan on taking Duskblade of Draktharr as your mythic option.
It provides % armor reduction on physical damage, amplifying your ultimate even more (since each wave of Bullet Time can stack the passive relatively fast). It's also a great buy when looking to deal more damage to heavily armored targets, plus the health gained from this item can make you survive a little longer in fights.
With the execution from The Collector, you'll gain lots of gold, allowing you to reach your item power spikes sooner, thus enabling you to snowball your games relatively quickly. This item is an excellent buy on Miss Fortune for improved duelling potential.
Select Edge of Night when looking to dodge crowd control as Miss Fortune. Its spell shield ignores the first ability you get hit by (which can be life-saving). It can also make or break a team fight if used correctly. Try to avoid combat to refresh the cooldown of the item.
A strong % armor penetration option for Miss Fortune, great when looking to slow down the enemy. Compared to its counterpart Lord Dominik's Regards, you will get this item to deal with targets who don't build lots of health. Considering its low cooldown, Double Up will apply this slow effectively, allowing for easy chase down. Additionally, it helps amplify the damage you deal with your signature Make it Rain + Bullet Time combo.
Great against teams with champions such as Teemo, Nidalee, or Shaco, who love to place traps in choke points, bushes, or neutral objectives. Helpful with vision denial around objective markers and lane bushes that may contain any wards.
Situational Items ForLethality and Crit
Excellent choice for Miss Fortune when dealing with champions who build health items, dealing 9% of their current health along with stealing movement speed every third hit, making this a great option when shredding tanks and certain squishy champions. Take this when you consider an on-hit build.
Guardian Angel offers a necessary revive to live longer and carry the game. Consider this item when fed and need the added resurrection for future fights. However, be careful since dying in a large crowd means you could die again after the passive effect triggers.
Lord Dominik's Regards is an excellent % armor penetration item for Miss Fortune when dealing with health scaling champions such as Sett, Cho'Gath or Sion, while also being efficient into heavily armored targets. The extra damage bonus is calculated based on the difference in max health between you and your target.
During combat, you can benefit from a temporary shield that protects you from magic damage. You will also receive bonus physical damage and situational life steal. Especially useful when facing champions such as Brand, Morgana, and Teemo, who cause damage gradually, while also great into champions like Syndra, Vex, and Katarina, who have powerful damage output and can defeat you quickly.
Great when dealing with crowd control (except airborne) based champion abilities ( Mordekaiser's Realm of Death, Warwick's Infinite Duress, Skarner's Impale or Malzahar's Nether Grasp) that would impair or displace you during combat. On top of the magic resistance & critical strike chance gained from Mercurial Scimitar, its active effect provides movement speed & ghosting for 1.5 seconds to escape fights or dangerous situations easily. However, due to its long active cooldown, careful ability blocking is paramount.
Muramana provides mana sustain for Miss Fortune to spam your skills, keep pressure on the enemy while also synergizing with Manaflow Band. Once upgraded from Manamune, you'll gain extra basic attack on-hit and bonus ability damage. Very effective when building on-hit items or dealing more single-target burst damage in fights.
The only time you will ever consider building Zhonya's Hourglass on Miss Fortune is when faced with many threats ( Zed, Lillia, Veigar, Pyke) that could dispose of you in combat quickly if immobilized. The stasis effect can be very efficient in dodging damage over time, ultimates or other impairing abilities that could make it impossible to escape. Do note when and where you activate this item since you could die right after the stasis effect ends if you are near enemies.
The following keystone & rune choices are great for Miss Fortune and will complement her in combat. Always pay attention to the enemy team comp, plus your item builds when selecting your runes to get the most value in each game.
Keystone Runes:
- Dark Harvest provides indefinite stacking of souls throughout the game. Gain souls by damaging a target under 50% health, with the ability to reacquire another after you score a takedown. Since there is no limit to the number of souls you can get per game, the potential to one-shot opponents becomes more remarkable when you reach the late game—a solid option when playing lethality on Miss Fortune.
- Press the Attack is the most efficient keystone for Miss Fortune since it works well into most matchups and triggers after auto-attacking three times or performing an auto- Double Up-auto combo. After applying this passive effect, the target will take more damage for the next six seconds.
- Lethal Tempo is excellent when you want to force more aggressive trades. Upon reaching and maintaining the six stack bonus from this keystone, gain increased attack speed & extra attack range, which helps to increase the cast range of Miss Fortune's Double Up. This keystone is powerful in a crit build but can be a viable option in a lethality setup.
- Conqueror grants extra damage for Miss Fortune (per auto or ability used) in combat, gaining an extra boost during trades and duels with the enemy. So while we may not trigger the keystone's healing effect, it's still a viable option to consider.
- Arcane Comet is a strong keystone choice for Miss Fortune when looking to poke down the enemy at a distance. Very good into poke champions such as ( Ezreal, Lux, Zyra & Xerath), and also effective when dealing with other pesky matchups. Another solid option when playing lethality with Miss Fortune.
- Selecting Cheap Shot for Miss Fortune is excellent in fights, dealing additional true damage on a target recently affected by crowd control effects (not including suppression or airborne). While the true damage values aren't stellar, you can still make the most of the rune. Take this rune with champions such as Leona, Morgana, Lux, Nautilus & Amumu.
- Taste of Blood offers Miss Fortunehealing when damaging an enemy in combat. (The heal doesn't trigger while at 100% health). An excellent scaling rune option for Miss Fortune for added sustain when trading with the enemy.
- Pick up Zombie Ward for more vision on the map. This rune is at its best when combined with Umbral Glaive, creating Zombie Wards with each destroyed enemy ward. These wards will help by giving you more access to enemy movement and additional objective control.
- When looking for more potency in fights, consider Eyeball Collection. This rune grants more damage with autos and abilities, giving you more threat in team fights and skirmishes. It's an excellent rune choice for any matchup when you run the Domination tree.
- Treasure Hunter on Miss Fortune is an excellent way to gain extra gold per unique takedown and accelerates your build to acquire your core and mythic items faster. Taking this rune is best when going into matchups where you can effectively snowball.
- As Miss Fortune, the mobility rune Relentless Hunter is a good choice. Combined with Strut, it provides a faster return to your lane and easy roaming around the map. It can also help with more rapid transitions to neutral or camp objectives.
- Ultimate Hunter grants Miss Fortuneability haste towards Bullet Time's cooldown, giving you more chances to dominate in team fights. Very strong when combined with mythic items or runes that offer additional ability haste.
- Magical Footwear allows Miss Fortune to delay buying Boots to focus on getting your mythic and core items sooner. After obtaining them, gain extra movement speed in your current pair of Boots purchased.
- Future's Market is reliable for ramping into your mythic/core items, thus offering better duelling potential. Very helpful in matchups where you want item advantages against your opponent to snowball much easier.
- Biscuit Delivery is helpful when you need additional sustain after trades and skirmishes while giving you more maximum mana per biscuit (max 3)—a staple Inspiration rune taken by Miss Fortune in most of her tough matchups.
- Cosmic Insight provides more access to summoner spells ( Flash, Heal) and item/ward trinket usage in combat. This rune is excellent when paired with items like Essence Reaver or other active items effects. Also very helpful for increasing your vision score.
- With Overheal on Miss Fortune, any extra healing she receives from items or spells becomes a protective shield. The shield will help maintain her Strut passive ability and give her more resilience during combat.
- While it's not Miss Fortune's most popular rune choice when comparing it to Overheal and Presence of Mind, this rune can still provide sustain and extra gold after securing takedowns during fights and skirmishes.
- Presence of Mind helps Miss Fortune by increasing mana regeneration as you hit enemies with auto attacks or abilities, ensuring a healthy mana pool before team fighting with the enemy.
- With Legend: Alacrity on Miss Fortune, you'll have more trading power, thus increasing the damage you deal in fights and have better success farming minions or taking objectives faster.
- Legend: Bloodline can help Miss Fortune when up against opponents who rely on poke spells such as Ezreal, Lux, Soraka. Although the life steal value may be lower than some other options when completed; it is still a reliable source of healing.
- An excellent rune option for Miss Fortune improving our damage against low health targets, making it easier to eliminate them in combat. A strong rune choice in both lethality or crit builds for team fights & duels.
- Bone Plating is a solid defensive option for Miss Fortune, providing damage reduction from incoming attacks & abilities. It can be massive during team fights as Miss Fortune, potentially saving you from certain death and leaving the fight alive. Consider Bone Plating into matchups that consist of Assassin or other heavy burst comps.
- Overgrowth is a safe option for Miss Fortune when selecting Resolve as our secondary, providing an additional layer of durability, gaining extra max health from monster/ minion deaths. While the health gained is small, it builds up nicely throughout the game and is a viable option in duels and skirmishes.
- Excellent choice for Miss Fortune when you need extra mana (combines nicely with Manamune/ Muramana) plus increased mana regeneration. It has immense value for Miss Fortune and can be a staple pick in any matchup.
- Transcendence provides Miss Fortune more ability haste during fights, thus increasing your damage per second to enemies and objectives. Excellent into poke matchups ( Lux/ Ezreal or Sivir/ Zyra) in which you can attack from a safe distance with your abilities.
- Gathering Storm enhances our damage output, including both autos and abilities, against targets every 10 minutes and continues to increase indefinitely. In addition, when paired alongside Dark Harvest, it provides additional burst damage against targets.
When deciding on what rune shards (whether offensive or defensive) to choose from for Miss Fortune in each of your games, you have to factor in a few things beforehand:
Offensive Shards
- Do I need extra attack speed? The extra attack speed can help with better trading/duelling.
- Do I need additional attack damage? We always take at least one adaptive damage shard for Miss Fortune, maybe two if needed.
- Do I require any ability haste? We don't take this option, so it's best to skip it.
Defensive Shards
- Do I require more armor? Your default choice for most games with Miss Fortune.
- Do I require magic resistance? Better picked when dealing with a double- mage matchup or teams with heavy magic damage.
- Do I require more health? We skip this option as Miss Fortune, but still viable against mixed damage team comps.
Always pay attention to the team compositions you are fighting when mixing and matching the rune shards listed above with your Boots & items. It's a sure way to improve your overall survivability in games.
