Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is Luxeøn, or Drew. I main Lux, and am a Diamond mid/support player.

Lux is such a unique and fun champion- I have been playing her ever since season 3, so I wanted to share the knowledge I have collected from my experience from playing as her. This guide includes both a mid lane and a support section!! I hope you enjoy my guide and please message me or comment if you have any questions! I'd be happy to address your questions or concerns :)

Alright now that all of that is out of the way,
Here we go!



Examples from my experience

Before we actually start, I know that sometimes when people read something, they might want to know both the validification of the information, and the person who wrote it as well. To hopefully soothe those, I screenshotted matches I played as Lux recently in ranked! I try to keep this updated but it's not as important. I am on the top Lux charts here, as well as other top charts! I also have almost 900k mastery points with her and she is the one who got me to diamond! She really does help me climb the ladder in ranked, even though she isn't one of the top picks in the mid lane.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
o She is easy to pick up!
o Vision from 2 abilities!
o HUGE ult range!
o Good poke!!
o Provides utility from her bind and slow, as well as her shield!
o Pretty good Crowd Control!
o Great in teamfights!
o Fun to play!
o Funniest laugh!
o Adorable skins (I own all lol)



Cons:
x Hard to master due to skillshots and positioning
x She's squishy
x Long cooldowns (besides her ultimate)
x High Mana Costs
x No escape besides her CC/flash
x Easily countered by Assassins
x She has some really HARD counters



Sorcery Rune

Sorcery is actually my #1 choice and the choice I recommend for this guide!

ARCANE COMET

Arcane Comet
This is the best rune for Lux since it does quite a bit of damage and helps Lux a lot with her already strong poke and all in potential. The slow from her E helps with landing this and it's a 100% hit if you bind them!

SUMMON AERY

Summon Aery
Aery can be good in CERTAIN situations. I like to take it on melee matchups where I can proc it many times! It also really helps when you want to be a bit more supporty and have a stronger shield for your allies. Aery is also really helpful when you want to go for a lot of early poke and damage and end the game aarly. Comet does a ton more damage than Aery in general but takes a bit to get going so it depends on the game.

PHASE RUSH

Phase Rush
This is like the old Stormraider's, so I really don't recommend it at all. Lux needs the damage and the movement speed won't do her much good anyhow.

MANAFLOW BAND

Manaflow Band
Lux has high mana costs in general, so this rune can really help out. It gives 250 mana after fully stacking it and then gives lux 1% of her missing mana every 5s, which can be incredible in extended fights. This really helps when you do the Luden's build because without blue or getting mana from kills with your Presence of Mind, you will run out of mana rather quickly. If you get Seraphs, this will give you 7.5 extra AP which can be nice!!

NULLIFYING ORB

Nullifying Orb
I really like this rune vs hard AP matchups like Fizz that can all in you. This helps with survivability on those hard matchups! ONLY take this if you feel you will need it, though.

NIMBUS CLOAK

Nimbus Cloak
Lux doesn't need movement speed from her ult since your target should be dead anyways! No but this rune doesn't fit Lux and her kit at all so I would never recommend this. This is better on champs like Talon where you need MS.

TRANSCENDENCE

Transcendence
This rune is amazing because any CDR you go over turns into AP and it really helps if Lux doesn't get a lot of CDR in her build. CDR is pretty important for Lux so this boosts her damage and poke potential. I love to take this rune especially if I know I won't have a lot of CDR in my build.

CELERITY

Celerity
This can help vs those matchups where speed can be important, but with the nerfs, it's not really the best. All in all it's a decent rune if you need some extra MS but transcendence is normally just better.

ABSOLUTE FOCUS

Absolute Focus
My personal opinion on this is that you need to be above 70% or else it is useless, while the other two runes are guaranteed the whole game, aka why I don't recommend this. However, Lux does stay far back and the AP does help so feel free to take this if you prefer. I just think CDR or MS is way more important than some unreliable AP.

SCORCH

Scorch
I recommend this rune because Lux is a really pokey champ and this adds to that! Plus, a lot of games are only 20-30m anyways so this rune is the dominant one.

GATHERING STORM

Gathering Storm
Unfortunately, there is going to be a bit of games where you will get knocked out of lane due to a hard matchup or you won't have the chance to use scorch (anivia pushing you to your tower constantly, etc). Take this instead since either you won't be able to use scorch to its potential and will have this to scale a bit better, or it will help you recover as the game goes on if you do get knocked out of lane or behind.

Waterwalking
Even if you are roaming, it doesn't exactly do enough to be worth it. Save this for junglers.

Secondary Runes
There's a couple options for which runes you choose. Domination and Precision are the best offensive secondaries are for Lux, Inspiration offers utility, and resolve is situational if you need extra defense.

PRESENCE OF MIND

Presence of Mind
This is one of the main reasons I take precision, since every kill or assist means you have your ult up that much faster, and the mana refund works wonders. It's even better when you can't take manaflow band bc you need to take Nullifying Orb for the extra magic shield! I also love Precision since you get a bit of attack speed from it, which can help Lux clear and proc her passive faster!

COUP DE GRACE

Coup de Grace
Take this to pair with PoM because your combo will do more damage and this will ensure they are dead!! It's extreeeemely helpful when you're ulting like 3 people in teamfights!!

CUT DOWN

Cut Down
This can be the replacement for Coup de Grace if you're vs tanks. Lux struggles vs tanks in general so having this available is really quite nice if needed.

ULTIMATE HUNTER

Ultimate Hunter
The biggest decision is if you should pick this rune or take precision for Presence of Mind. I think PoM is naturally better just because you get mana back and it refunds some of your ult cooldown. The reason this rune has an upper edge though is because if you miss your ultimate (they dodge or flash it) or you use your ult to clear the wave or something that you don't get an ult reset from a kill, this rune helps you recover from that. This rune also gives reliability because you get permament CDR and don't have to rely on kills or assist for it. However, PoM is still naturally better and can stack much better. Take this rune if you don't see a lot of teamfighting and bursting happening and just naturally want you ult more often with much more poke from cheap shot. Cheap shot is actually more reliable and better than Coup De Grace when we compare the other secondary rune but it's more on your preference of if you want more poke or a bit more damage to your combo.

CHEAP SHOT

Cheap Shot
I love this rune since it pairs really well with Scorch and if you do take Summon Aery. I use those three runes to poke the enemy out of lane. I also really love this rune because it's minimal damage but it does do TRUE damage, meaning that resistances can't do anything vs this rune. This gives a little more poke to add to her already decently strong poke.

TASTE OF BLOOD

Taste of Blood
This cannnn be a good sustain rune if you feel you need it and/or don't want to take cheap shot but I always buy a Refillable Potion, so I'm normally good. Also feel free to take Eyeball Collection if you prefer the little AP over some true damage or some sustain (I recommend cheap shot or taste of blood but everyone has their preferences).

Time Warp Tonic
Right now, the meta is to take this rune and get a Corrupting Potion for tons of lane sustain. Plus, it gives 5%MS which can really help a slow mage like Lux!!

BISCUIT DELIVERY

Biscuit Delivery
Mix this with Time Warp Tonic and you'll have a TON of lane sustain!!

MINION DEMATERIALIZER

Minion Dematerializer
This is normally only used in higher elos but the idea with this rune is for extra damage from minions aka a better and earlier clear. It also helps you push your lane and get that level 3/6 faster if you feel you need it. Take this if you think you will need it or you think Biscuits is too much of an overkill with sustain. Magical Footwear and Cosmic Insight are other optional choices if you wish.

BONE PLATING

Bone Plating
I recommend this when you have a hard lane and need the survivability vs assassins (fizz, LB, etc). I take this vs most assassins ONLY if I'm not confident in the matchup since it makes their all ins a lot worse but you do lose a bit of damage by taking this tree as well. You take some damage away for some durability, which can be extremely helpful, but you don't want to do this often if possible.

CHRYSALIS

Chrysalis
Take this with Bone Plating since it'll make you beefier in the beginning stages of the game and helps overall. This then turns into AP after 4 takedowns, which is nice since by then you should have your defense item vs these assassins.

REVITALIZE

Revitalize
This is alright if you maybe don't want chrysalis for the extra health but I really just recommend the other two. However, this can be an alternative since it makes your shield a bit stronger and that barrier/heal summoner spell you took is stronger as well. Not to mention, it makes your shields on allies stronger!

Domination Rune

Here is the rune path if you choose Domination as your main rune type! I recommend Sorcery over Domination due to Sorcery having better options for Lux, but Domination is good for bursting a single target down- which Lux can do well with her combo.

ELECTROCUTE

Electrocute
This rune is the main reason you take Domination. Unfortunately, electrocute is hard to proc since you can't E>auto or Q>R, you have to add an auto or your E in the rotation for it to work. It also has a relatively high cooldown. The main reason, however, why I don't recommend it is because a lot of games, my QER will kill the champion anyways and electrocute won't even proc. However, the huge extra burst can be really helpful so if you are going to take domination, feel free to take this.

PREDATOR

Predator
This also has a HUGE cooldown and is not recommended, as it doesn't do too much for Lux.

DARK HARVEST

Dark Harvest
Another rune that isn't recommended, as it requires an auto attack and takes time to stack up.

CHEAP SHOT

Cheap Shot
This rune actually works well with Lux, as she has both a slow and a bind. Plus, the cooldown is 4s! Just remember that you have to let your E slow first before popping it in order for cheap shot to proc, just wait less than second before popping it!

TASTE OF BLOOD

Taste of Blood
This can help if you need a little more sustain, but I prefer the TRUE damage from cheap shot and Refillable Potion are also there if you need it.

SUDDEN IMPACT

Sudden Impact
Not recommended because Lux doesn't have a leap/dash/etc. It does work with flash, but flash has a long cooldown, making this rune pretty useless.

EYEBALL COLLECTION

Eyeball Collection
This rune gives you up to 30AP from kills/assists/ward kills, making this the best option.

ZOMBIE WARD

Zombie Ward
This can be ok but the problem is you don't get the red trinket and the only time you will be killing wards is if you are using a control ward and Lux doesn't have the BEST dominance in lane so it's not recommended. Plus, it's not consistent since it relies on ward kills for a bit of damage.

GHOST PORO

Ghost Poro
This is an adorable rune, but let's save this for those aggressive junglers. Lux shouldn't be deep into the enemy jungle and again, this rune isn't consistent.

ULTIMATE HUNTER

Ultimate Hunter
Lux's ultimate is the most important (and coolest) part of her kit, and this makes it available a lot faster! Plus the other runes are underwhelming so this rune trumps the others anyday.

RELENTLESS HUNTER

Relentless Hunter
This CAN be an alternative if maybe you want to roam a lot or want the out of combat MS to get to objectives and such faster, but I still recommend the shorter ultimate over this anyday.

INGENIOUS HUNTER

Ingenious Hunter
The only active item Lux buys is maybe a Zhonya's Hourglass, but even then, that doesn't make this rune worth it. Ravenous Hunter is also a huge no since all of your spells are AOE and all the healing will be reduced to 1/3 anyways.

Secondary Runes
There's a couple options for which runes you choose! Due to taking electrocute, the whole 'kill one target' idea makes precision really good. However, Sorcery is just as strong, and inspiration/resolve are more for specific matchups. Read below for more info.

This is good if you take precision since you get mana back and it reduces your remaining cooldown, which means your ult will be up more! Pairs well with the passive from your ultimate and Ultimate Hunter!! Plus, without taking Manaflow Band from the Sorcery tree, this can really help with your mana in extended fights!

COUP DE GRACE

Coup de Grace
Take this to pair with PoM because your combo will do more damage and this will ensure they are dead!! It's extreeeemely helpful when you're ulting like 3 people in teamfights!!

This can be the replacement for Coup de Grace if you're vs tanks. Lux struggles vs tanks in general so having this available is really quite nice if needed.

Transcendence can be really important since Lux needs CDR and this gives her free 10%. I usually always take this rune if running Sorcery secondary. However, some builds give you enough CDR or maybe you feel you will need MS vs specific matchups, so feel free to take Celerity if you wish.

MANAFLOW BAND

Manaflow Band
Lux's mana can be an issue, even with the lower mana costs on her spells, and this really helps out with that!

GATHERING STORM

Gathering Storm
This is a good alternative if you want to scale or feel you won't need power or won't be able to snowball until later on in the game, this rune makes that happen.

Summoner Spells

Barrier
This is the most important and most used spell I take. It has a relatively low cooldown and can save you from just about anything! It also mixes very well with your Prismatic Barrier! Lux NEEDS this shield sometimes versus assassins or bursty comps to save her. ALWAYS try to activate it when they are bursting you, not after their done. I see too many people use their barrier after the burst and try to maybe wait it out, but you're going to die and waste your barrier if you use it after. It's a relatively low cooldown so don't be afraid to use it when needed, but remember to be more defensive when it's not available.

Flash
This is the other important spell that YOU SHOULD TAKE 100% OF THE TIME!! If you need to take another summoner spell, replace barrier. Flash gives you so many opportunities to either escape, catch up to a champion, dodge spells, and more.

Cleanse
Cleanse is situational, but still VERY important. First, look at their mid laner. Take this on certain matchups like Veigar with his Event Horizon, TF's Pick A Card- gold card, etc. Next, look at the team. a Chain of Corruption from Varus, Enchanted Crystal Arrow from Ashe, and other engaging CC can be important to cleanse. Finally, look at the jungler. I always take cleanse on junglers such as Sejuani or Elise, and it's even more important if both the mid laner AND the jungler have a lot of CC.

Exhaust
Exhaust is a good spell versus assassins, like LeBlanc, Talon, Zed, Fizz, and so forth. Using this spell right BEFORE their combo is EXTREMELY important, so try to time it correctly! If you don't think you can time it correctly, take barrier instead.

Teleport
This really helps you stay in lane, gank other lanes, or be present during fights over objectives. This can be especially important when laning against, say, a Taliyah, since you can follow her-and may score you kills as well :)

Heal
I really like heal because there are a lot of cases where you and your jungler are 2v2'ing with the other mid laner and jungler (this is way more common in higher elo than low), so heal means better luck, plus the MS helps a lot. HOWEVER, if they have Ignite in mid lane or they have some type of grevious wounds (Katarina's Death Lotus, Varus's Hail of Arrows), DO NOT TAKE HEAL because your heal will be reduced by 40% unless you heal BEFORE this is applied.

Ghost
I love this summoner spell. It's truly an amazing item for kiting, chasing, running away, getting to objectives, and so forth. However, it takes time to ramp up and is good if you need consistent movement for chasing/kiting, which is not what Lux needs. I do not suggest this summoner spell but if you feel like you need the consistent movement, go for it.

Ignite
Ignite helps finish an enemy off, although I don't commonly take it because I shouldn't be in range to ignite someone frequently- especially since I can use my combo from further away. I actually don't recommend this summoner spell at all because it can teach you to constantly get close and if someone knows what they're doing, they can use that against you and you won't survive because Lux is way too squishy. However, it does wonders if you are ever against a Vladimir or someone with insane healing. It also can help with lane pressure, if you would like.

Smite
Don't take this ever. This is important- I have seen people who take this on Lux and I ask them why. I know it's been known by some pros in the past to take smite and get the old runeglaive, but Enchantment: Runic Echoes is a dulled version if Luden's Echo and you won't be farming jungle monsters anyways. Take a more useful summoner spell.


Lux's Abilities and When to Level Them

First, let's look at what Lux actually does:


Illumination
Your next auto attack against enemies hit by your abilities take extra magic damage
Lux's offensive abilities mark all affected enemies with light energy for 6 seconds. Her basic attacks and Final Spark consume the mark, dealing 20-190 (based on level).




Light Binding
Roots and damages two enemy champions.
ACTIVE: Lux releases a sphere of light in a line that deals magic damage to the first two enemies hit and roots them for 2 seconds.



Prismatic Barrier
Shields yourself and your allies with Lux's wand on the way out and back.
ACTIVE: Lux shields herself and throws out her wand in a line, shielding allied champions in its path for 3 seconds. Lux's wand then returns to her, stacking the shield to all allied champions it passes through and herself. The returning wand grants twice the shield.



Lucent Singularity
Slows and damages enemies in an AOE bubble.
ACTIVE: Lux sends an anomaly of twisted light to the target area, Slow icon slowing nearby enemies and granting sight of the area around it for up to 5 seconds.
SLOW: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45%
At the end of the duration or if Lucent Singularity is activated again, the singularity detonates, dealing magic damage to all enemies in the area.



Final Spark
Lux fires a laser that deals damage to anything in her path.
ACTIVE: After gathering energy for 0.5 seconds, Lux fires a giant laser in a line that deals magic damage to all enemies hit and briefly reveals them and the surrounding area. Final Spark triggers and refreshes Illumination if the enemy was damaged by Lux's other abilities.
PASSIVE: If Final Spark kills at least one enemy champion, or hits an enemy champion that dies within 1.75 seconds, a percentage of its remaining cooldown is refunded by 30/40/50%.


Tips and Tricks

First off, lets talk about what to level first. Here is a chart that explains it:

Maxing E for both farming and poking potential, and maxing R when you can. Q max is if you want more damage, but W max after E and before Q is acceptable if you feel you need it.

Now, let us get onto the abilities!


Illumination
Tips and Tricks
  • This will be a great way to poke in lane. Using your Lucent Singularity and an auto will set this off.
  • ONLY auto when it is safe. Never run at enemy champions trying to proc this.
  • Remember that your ultimate procs Illumination AND resets it! Use this to your advantage when using different combos for maximum damage


Light Binding
Tips and Tricks
  • Try to hit two people with your light binding!
  • Remember that it hits two people, so hitting a minion and an enemy champion is a good way to surprise the enemy with a binding!
  • Don't just throw this spell out, as your are very vulnerable without it. Level this after you finish leveling Lucent Singularity.
  • The only time I get this at level 1 is if I know we are going to invade. Even then, I wait until some action happens before leveling it. If I level it when I first start and the invade fails, I will have to accept that I will have Q at level 1 instead of E.


Prismatic Barrier
Tips and Tricks
  • Try to hit all of your allies with this spell in teamfights. If you don't hit them on the way out, try to position yourself to hit them with your wand on the way back since the shield will be bigger!!
  • I level this at level 3 instead of 4 on certain occasions- with poke or burst champions, such as LeBlanc or Xerath. The shield will absorb some of the damage, and you will be able to have a better trade.
  • Always get 1 point in this at level 4, with no exceptions!! I will max this second if I feel I will need the stronger shield, but it's rare.

Tips and Tricks
  • This is your main farming and poking tool. Level it up first.
  • Make sure to hit as many enemy champions with this. Also remember that it slows, so you do not have to immediately pop it.
  • It has a higher mana cost, so try not to spam it early game.
  • It gives vision, so using it in bushes is way better then facechecking.
  • With 40%CDR, it has a 4.8s cd, meaning you can keep your bubble there to slow them or zone for the full 5 seconds and then immediately throw another one!!

  • Try to position yourself in teamfights to hit as many enemy champions as you can with this ability.
  • It has a low cooldown, so don't be afraid to use it!
  • This is my favorite ability because of the sniping potential it has. I have killed many people and stolen buffs/dragon/baron with this ability!
  • With the 8.7 patch, Lux's cooldown will now be refunded if you used your R and they die 0-1.75 seconds later. This means you can use your ultimate from far away to assist people in getting the kill and you still get the ultimate refund!!


Combos

Lucent Singularity➛ Auto

-This is a common harass technique used in lane, but is also going to be used out of lane as well. A lot of times when the enemy goes in to last hit, this is a good time to use this combo. You are able to E>auto and then quickly run away without taking any damage in return. This is also a good zoning technique. When you throw your E out and it hits them, they will be more cautious because they do not want you to auto them and proc the passive. Use this to your advantage- but know your bounds as well. Do not try to auto them if they are able to throw their spells back or else you lost the trade and this can even get you killed if they have CC as well.


Light Binding➛Auto➛ Lucent Singularity➛Auto

-The combo ALSO works the same if you do: Light Binding Lucent Singularity➛Auto➛POP Lucent Singularity➛Auto. This is going to be another combo that will be used for trades, especially before level 6. Also notice how my Light Binding killed a minion, but was still able to hit Annie as well. As most won't pay attention to the second binding until it is too late, using your Light Binding to kill one minion and hit the enemy champion with the second binding works effectively!! This combo gets your MAXIMUM damage potential without your ult since you are able to proc your passive twice with both of your spells!
Note:WATCH OUT WHO YOU USE THIS ON! As Annie didn't have her ultimate and her range is very short, she was only able to get an auto off on me. If you are using this combo on someone like Ahri, BE WEARY! Your Light Binding is only a root, meaning spells can still be cast. It will not be worth it if Ahri is able to Charm you and use her combo back on you!


Light Binding Lucent Singularity Final Spark

-This clearly shows the standard way of bursting an enemy down. When using this combo, I press QER and then spam my E, since your E is able to be popped in the middle of you ulting! I use this combo when I am far away and want to burst someone from far away and not get autos in because either I am too far away or I don't want to get close in case they retaliate!

Light Binding➛Auto➛ Lucent Singularity Final Spark➛Auto

-This combo is going to be used frequently- when you are close enough to an enemy to auto them. The idea here is to Q them and then auto them really fast to get the passive proc off, and then E>R instantly after. Pop your E as you're ulting so your ult will trigger the second passive proc, and then auto them after you're done ulting for the third proc! This is an extremely important combo since it maximizes your FULL damage potential (aka getting all 3 passive procs on your spells), but it also requires you to be in auto attack range of the enemy. You don't want to use this combo when you are far away or else you will have to walk up to them to auto them after Q'ing and then by the time you use your E and R, they will not be in the binding anymore and can dodge it. This is especially important if they have Mercury's Treads since they will get out of your binding early, so you need to throw your spells out before they do so!


Light Binding Lucent Singularity Final Spark➛Auto➛POP Lucent Singularity➛Auto

-This was hard to pull off since dummys dont move and so I tried using a bot to demonstrate haha oops. This combo can be a bit tricky since it has its ups and downs. Some ups about this combo is that you get all 3 procs off and it maximizes your FULL damage! You can either pop your E immediately after ulting, or you can use your E as a slow to auto them a couple more times or for your allies to catch up to them if they aren’t dead already. If you do that, you still want to pop the E when they’re at the very edge of your E so your damage still goes through! However, you don’t want to use this combo in certain situations. For one, if you know they have flash, don’t do it! They will flash away right when they are out of your binding and won’t take the E damage! You also don’t want to do this if you know/think your combo will kill them because they can retailiate. For example, you use your combo on an Ahri, but then you don’t pop your E and auto her to kill her, so she uses her ultimate to DASH out of your E and then uses her spells back on you and kills you- and you can’t do anything about it since you just used all your spells and they are on cooldown. Only use this when you think you can't kill them without the extra autos from your passive and you know they can't retaliate or escape!


Light Binding➛DO NOT AUTO➛ Lucent Singularity

-This video is now the updated one, yay! As promised from the comment section of my guide, here is a redone version of this combo. I fixed the idea that the edge of Lux's E should be thrown at the edge of Annie's feet, like shown above. This makes it to where Annie would have to walk through the whole circle to even get to me, and by then, I have escaped because she is constantly slowed. Notice how I popped my E right when she was about to run off of it. This made the spell 100% effective. Not only did I have the slow to escape, but I popped it right before she ran off of it so the damage went off as well. If I had mana, I could have ulted her and maybe killed her as well :p You can use this when you are getting chased.


Lucent Singularity Final Spark

-I normally use this combo under tower, but it is also a very effective combo in places like dragon and baron. I also use this combo when something like an Unstoppable Force from Malphite is used in teamfights because E>R is VERY quick and you will be able to follow up his knock up with a ton of AoE damage. The trick is to throw out your E very quickly and then use your ultimate immediately after, and pop your E in the middle of you ulting. Not only will you do tons of AOE damage to multiple targets but remember that your ultimate procs your passive! Popping your E before the ultimate fully channels will give you your maximum damage since your ult procs and refreshes your passive!


Light Binding Flash

-I have forgotten to add this combo to my guide for quite a while, but here it is! As you can see in this video, I did two test runs, one with throwing out my Q and then flashing, and the other flashing and then using Q. Looking at my first run, the goal here is to see that pressing Q first and THEN flashing is more ideal because it is faster and it gives the enemy less time to react. You want to Q first because Lux takes a second before throwing out her Q, so you want to start up the animation and then flash. When you flash IMMEDIATELY after, the game will take the range indicator as where you FLASHED at, not where you were when you first pressed Q, and that is how I was able to get in range by using flash. I added the second run in order to show you that flashing and then pressing Q is still possible in order to get in range, but it gives the enemy much more time to react, so we want to Q first if possible before flashing. Do note that you need to flash IMMEDIATELY after pressing Q- if you wait too long then it will not register your flash in time and the Q range will go from where you were when you pressed Q, not where your flashed position was. I recommend practicing this in the practice tool in order to get familiar with how the combo works before using it in games, but it's an insanely FUN and useful combo!! The Q>flash double bind and then following up with E and R and getting a double kill feels reaaaaallly nice!!

Starting Items

Doran's Ring + 2 Pots
This is the best way to start out. Doran's Ring gives you ability power, health, mana everytime a unit is killed, and base mana regen. This plus the two health pots should be enough sustain for you to get to level 6.


The Dark Seal + Refillable Potion
This is a good alternative and is actually meta right now if you take Time Warp Tonic. The idea here is that time warp tonic's 20% longer potions + dark seal gives 25% more HEALING from potions. This will make your sustain insane. You do not have to get dark seal if you don't want to! With tonic, it makes it to where your potions will be constantly going and not only will you get more health and mana back, but the burn from corrupting potion helps a lot and also time warp tonic gives MS as long as you have a pot going, which can be EXTREMELY useful for a mage like Lux!


First Back

It's hard to explain what exactly to buy because every situation is different and you'll always have a different amount of gold on your first back each game, but here are some ideas of what to buy and when.

1300G Buying a lost chapter is definitely the goal here! They upped the cost so this will be extremely hard to get early on, but if you can buy it on your first back, do it!! However, read below for other alternatives if you are unable to buy this on your first back!
850G If you're going for Seraphs and either it is a farming and stacking game so you can get away with this, or you were forced to go back with less than 1300 gold, this is a suitable option!
350G With LC being 1300g now, this is an extremely good alternative. I buy this and a Refillable Potion for the sustain in lane. Even if you don't get Mejai's Soulstealer, this item gives REALLY good stats for how cheap it is and is sold for a good price. I usually just get this with a refillable and then whatever parts I can buy from LC or even boots with it before going back to lane.
450G Vs certain matchups (ex: Syndra or LB), you might need to get some early magic resist. You can buy this either by itself or with other items (this + dark seal + refillable for 950G is a great buy if you have the gold) and it should help out a lot. You can later on upgrade it to a Banshee's Veil/ Mercury's Treads or sell it if it comes to that point.
300G Movement speed can be important in certain matchups, so this can be a really good buy. Depending on how much gold you have, you can buy above items with the boots of speed!
150G I cannot fathom how important some type of sustain is. I personally always buy a refillable bc paired with The Dark Seal, I pay 150G and get ~313 health per fill up with dark seal!! I've also had it where a fight starts and the health saved me from the last tick of an ignite or a spell! If you don't buy a refillable, at least have one health pot with you and if you find yourself buying a lot of health pots in games, remember that the refillable is a more cost effective buy!
75G Last but not least, if you can, ALWAYS try to buy a control ward on your first back/every time you back -if possible. Vision is extremely important and having a control ward means one less place the jungler can gank you from + it gives your team better vision control of the map since control wards are limited to 1 per person (You can buy up to 3 but only one ward allowed on the map per person)!

*Please remember that these example builds do NOT have to be the exact order you build them and rely on how each SPECIFIC game is going. I also have section below this on detail about each item and when it can be good to buy it. These are examples so do what you think is best or what the specific game calls for (ex: I might put Luden's in a slot but that doesn't mean you can't just switch out Luden's for Seraph's, or I put Zhonyas but they have a full AP team so you need Banshee's instead, and so forth)*




Personal Fav Build
Pros: Really good burst potential, 40% at full build w transendence or blue, lots of snowball potential, waveclear assistance with Luden's proc
Cons: No defensive item until maybe last or second to last item

When do I use this build? This build is really good in quite a lot of situations. Always rush Luden's first as it gives you the 20%CDR you want the proc will really help Lux a lot when clearing minions. As for boots, Sorc boots is always standard but feel free to get Merc treads if needed. Next, it's up to you. Rabadon's is really strong since Lux scales well with AP but Morellos (or at least oblivion orb) gives really good early pen, so I definitely recommend at least getting Orb and then going Rabadons! Finish up your Morellos when you need it. Also feel free to substitute the Zhonya's for, say, a Banshee's and so forth.







VS Healing Enemies
Pros: High damage, early mpen meaning 'true' damage unless they get MR
Cons: Low movement speed, CDR later on

When do I use this build? The point of this build is to get Morellonomicon fast if you are versus a healing laner like Vladimir or Swain. This will cut their healing down with every spell you use on them for three seconds and will ensure you can kill them. I usually just rush lost chapter and then hold it until I get my Morellos and then upgrade to my mana item. This build also works if they are squishys since the 18MPEN from your boots + 15 from Morellos will have you SHREDDING through their magic resist! Like any other build, feel free to get items at different times or swap out items for other items depending on the specific game!







Early Defensive Item
Pros: Early defensive item for survivability, early CDR
Cons: Low movement speed, not as much damage until later on

When do I use this build? This build is really good when they have a really big AD threat (Zed especially), or even AP threat (which you would swap out Zhonya's for Banshee's Veil). This build I only recommend IF there is a huge threat who is constantly aiming for you, otherwise you should try to build damage. You will want to sit on lost chapter and rush that defensive item as fast as you can! After, you may upgrade to your mana item.








Movement Speed Lux
Pros: More MS which can really help an immobile mage like Lux out, high burst potential.
Cons: Low CDR (only 20% from Ludens), no defensive item

When do I use this build? Sometimes just getting MS rather than a defensive item CAN be a good defense. Unfortunately spellbinder is only an ok item, which I will explain more below, but movement speed is insanely underrated, so feel free to use this build instead if you feel the MS will help/need the MS to escape from gap closers or other scary teams. Do remember that there is no defensive item in this and that you will be relying on if you take Transcendence and blue buff for that 40%CDR.




All Item Choices

Above were just examples of builds (since there are so many possibilities now), but this section will cover what are good items and WHEN you can buy them and why.


Sorcerer's Shoes: Let us start off with boots. These boots are the boots you will be buying in most of your games due to how strong 18 magic penetration can be. Buying this and Oblivion Orb or even Morellonomicon means you will be doing almost 'true' damage to anyone who doesn't buy magic resist!!

Mercury's Treads: The main goal of these boots are just replacing Sorcerer's Shoes if they have a lot of CC and you need the tenacity. These are very situational however, so make sure to take them only when necessary.

Ninja Tabi: The main goal of these boots are just replacing Sorcerer's Shoes ONLY if they are a full physical damage team and you think you will need it. These are very situational however, so make sure to take them only when necessary.

Seraph's Embrace: Next up is mana items! GLP isn't very good so I wouldn't recommend it, but the big argument here is between Seraph's and Ludens. Seraph's isn't the best and is only used if you want/need to stack. You don't get the 3% mana until fully stacked and Lux takes a bit longer to stack this then other mages do, making is subpar on her- especially since Lux shines mid game/during teamfights. This item can be good if you're going to farm all game and try to scale, but otherwise, take Luden's instead. This item will give up to 118AP with the passive once you are level 18 and have the full Seraph's! However, I always recommend getting Rabadon's Deathcap ASAP when taking Seraph's because I still recommend minion dematerializer in my rune section but I just really prefer to take precision instead of inspiration, and you need the AP for your E to kill the backline. Having Rabadon's second or third item lets you E the caster minions without having to rely on Luden's proc or minion dematerializer!! However, the downfalls to this is that your waveclear will be a lackluster for a bit longer and your burst won't be nearly as good as Luden's early-mid game.

Luden's Echo: Luden's is definitely preferred and is better in most to all cases. The main reason TO buy this over Seraph's is because it really helps Lux with her waveclear, which can be extremely important. It also can help with snowballing and adds a little bit more burst to your combo with the Ludens proc! Luden's can also be a lot more helpful if you need to rush another item or two fast (ex: Morellonomicon for healing comps) and then it's 15-20 minutes into the game and it's way too late to finish and stack tear. OR this can be good if your team is wanting to dominate and end quickly. There are a lot of reason why this item can be really good. The downfalls to this item are that you don't get the huge Seraph's shield which can really save your life in some points in the game, and you also MIGHT have mana issues if you are spamming, but it should normally be no problem at all!

Rabadon's Deathcap: This is Lux's bread and butter item due to the fact that she has high AP ratios! I try to rush this ASAP, which we used to not do, but now that it's cheaper and gives 40% more AP, it can be a really good item to snowball off of!! Once you get this item, your spells will be a lot stronger. I really love to buy Sorcerer's Shoes, Oblivion Orb, and then get this item since I will have 33MPEN really early on and then I get a TON of AP from Rabadon's making me super bursty. It makes Lux's mid game insanely strong and people haven't normally had the chance to build much MR yet, making them good targets!!

Morellonomicon: Lux works really well with Magic Pen, making this a really important item. Lux also struggles against people who can heal up (Vlad, Swain) or when you burst someone down but then the Nami or Soraka heal saves them and they have barely any health left! This is both really important vs champs that can heal themselves or teammates and I would rush this ASAP vs those Vlad or Swain matchups. However, if not, get this later on for the magic penetration and I actually would always recommend this in your build if possible because people have heals, ADC's and top laners can lifesteal, junglers can smite for health- there's a lot of healing in the game that you can cut down on with your spells and giving this item 15 magic pen makes Lux want it even more! If you would like, you can get Oblivion Orb for the magic pen and then sit on it until later!

Spellbinder: This is a very hit or miss kind of rune for Lux. The stats work well with Lux since Lux needs a lot of AP and movement speed is always great on her due to her being so immobile and easy prey. However, the active isn't maximized by Lux like it can with other champions, aka why I don't have it in my regular builds. Lux takes too long by herself to stack the active up and she actually relies on other allies and enemies to use their spells. Another downfall to this active is that Lux should be one shotting squishies and others anyways, so the extra burst you want from this may just go to waste because you would have killed them anyways, even without this active. I also am unsure about it because you would want to sit in a teamfight in order to get your stacks before using the active so it gets it stacks up, but Lux is a champion that should be trying to look for picks BEFORE a teamfight so you can hopefully make it a 4v5 orrr be throwing her burst in once the fight starts, not waiting until the end to use it. Lastly, let's look at where it could possibly fit into our build. Boots, Ludens, Rabadons, Void, and Morellos are all very standard and should be items you get basically EVERY game. This leaves room for only one more item. Usually I put a defensive item here that way we have all of our damage but can still survive, plus the extra CDR the defensive item gives really helps. But if you think you won't be needing a defensive item, you can put it here. You just need to decide if a little extra damage is really worth losing 10%CDR from your defensive item and it possibly saving your life vs an assassin or burst champ/anyone with gap closing abilities. HOWEVER, this active can be really good if you need to run away fast, or if you need some movement speed to get in range for a Q for your team and so forth. It gives A TON of AP and the MS is insanely nice so if you want those stats, go for it!

Twin Shadows: This item can be really good if your team relies on catching people out of position and you want that slow to make SURE they're caught out and can't escape. Normally supports buy this so I don't have to worry about it, but it's not too bad of an item if you want. The CDR and movement speed always benefit Lux. NOTE THAT THIS ITEM IS VERY GOOD vs stealthed champs like Eve or Twitch and also assassins like Talon as well!!

Zhonya's Hourglass: This item is essential vs champions like Zed because you can negate his ultimate with the active. It's also a really good item because if the Camille or other AD with a gap closer tries to jump on you, you can Zhonya's and you team will back you up. This item ALSO is good if you need the statis for an ultimate, like Karthus. This item is also really good if you're against a full AD team and need armor. This isn't in my CORE build and is more of a last item kinda thing since Lux is best when she has all damage items and stays back and throws her spells, BUT this item is CRUCIAL if you need the survivability!

Banshee's Veil: This item can be important for either ult/CC purposes (Ashe arrow, Sej ult, Blitz's flash/hook)- but I usually take cleanse for those), OR if they have a heavy magic damage team and you need the MR. This item isn't bought frequently but can be important if you need that survivability.

Mejai's Soulstealer: Lux is one of the few people that can buy this item and get away with it. It is a very high risk high reward item, so don't buy it every game- if they have a lot of gap closers, your team is not doing well, or you aren't playing your best. You don't want to waste 1400G that can be geared toward other items. However, this item gives you the opportunity to snowball off of 1400 gold! You also only need 10 stacks to get the MS now, making this a really good item on Lux. SELL THIS ITEM FOR YOUR LAST ITEM!!!!

Laning Phase

During the laning phase, there are 4 key steps to successfully working your lane:



1. Farming
I can not emphasize how IMPORTANT farming is. The early farming stage is the most important part for how well you will do later on in the game. Killing minions grants gold and XP. Gold grants items to further your damage, and XP gives you an advantage to your spells having better base stats/lower cooldowns. Please do not try to just attack the enemy champion, focus on last hitting while poking when given the chance.



How to last hit?
The basic idea is to wait until you are able to kill the minion with an auto attack. However, this is harder than it seems. For me, farming is one of my biggest downfalls. I get so caught up in the wave pressure and health of the enemy champion that I don't last hit and miss the necessary gold needed.



Should I farm with my spells? (Pros/Cons)
Pro: You will be able to use your spells to kill minions more easy, rather than waiting for the right moment to auto and possibly missing it.
Con: You will push the lane and it can be dangerous. You are more susceptible to either be ganked by the jungler or harassed by the mid laner.
Pro: Your opponent will lose farm due to the fact that he/she has to now auto and use their spells in order to hit the minions under the tower.
Con: Using your spells chunks out a lot of mana for Lux, especially early game when she doesn't have very many items. With no mana, you can't 'farm' more, nor can you poke the enemy champion and trade.
Pro: You could gain a huge advantage by keeping both the zoning of your lane and the ability to roam, meanwhile, your opponent is stuck at their turret trying to farm.
Con: You could actually end up missing on tons of CS yourself. With relying on spells to kill minions, you will be casting your spells instead of autoing. With spell casting, it will also create an unbalance in the wave, causing less CS for you- which then puts you behind.



Conclusion?
There is nothing wrong with using your spells to farm- especially under your OWN tower or to secure that $$$ cannon minion. However, try to keep the minion wave as balanced as possible by either only autoing when necessary, or using spells when you are getting pushed. Remember that your main farming tool besides autoing is your Lucent Singularity, which is also used for poking. Also remember that this spell has a high mana cost and a long cooldown, hence why spamming it is not a good idea. However, using it every once in a while to farm or poke is ideal. Farm as much as possible in order to have a better mid/late game.
If you are like me and have a hard time farming, make a custom game and practice last hitting with no items. This will really help for when you get into a game that actually matters.




2. Zoning/Harassing/Trading
This is another very important aspect during the laning phase. With zoning and harassing, you are causing your enemy to be both miss CS and be scared to go in for CS. Depending on who you are against will determine how this can be done.



When you are against melee opponents
This can be a favorable matchup due to the fact that the opponent has to get in melee range to auto you/the minion for CS. In the beginning of the game, try to auto them as much as you can in order for CS to be denied. The key concept here is to try to freeze the lane to deny CS and put them behind. However, with autoing comes some challenges.
1. Some melee champions have abilities they can use on you. Watch out for those. Their ability will do much more damage than your one auto.
2. When you auto the champion, it can cause the enemy's minions to target you. The minions do little damage, but it adds up so be careful.
3. Remember to auto when given the chance only. One auto is not worth missing CS



When to use your abilities in lane
The first and easiest answer to this is when you see your minion wave being pushed. The downside to Lux is that when she is pushed to the turret, most of the time she will have to use her spells to kill the creeps. With this then results in mana issues, loss of XP/gold, and not to mention- her cooldowns are pretty long. TRY NOT to get pushed to your tower. If your opponent is pushing, the best way to handle this is by aiming your Lucent Singularity at both the wave of creeps AND the enemy champion. This will not only keep the wave more balanced, but your opponent will take damage and will be more fearful to either push the lane or auto the creeps. It's even better when you are able to use your Lucent Singularity and then auto the champion, however, DO NOT CHASE THE CHAMPION JUST TO GET THE AUTO OFF. It is not worth it and you will end up taking more damage in the long run from both whatever the champion throws out at you, and the minions. Not to mention, it puts you in the perfect position for the enemy jungler to gank.



3. Jungle Camps
Jungle camps are always a good idea because killing them grants gold and XP. However, there are appropriate times to take the camps. Lux is slower than other champions in taking these camps, but it it always a good idea to try to take these when possible



What camps should I take?
Most of the time, I take the crimson raptor, along with the other raptors. These are very close to lane and you wont lose out on anything. The idea is to E all the raptors but don't pop your E until it pops on it's own, auto the big raptor, and then shield yourself. When your E is up again, it will kill all the small raptors, and hopefully the big raptor as well. You may need to auto the big raptor a couple more times or use your Q if you don't have enough damage to kill it with this rotation of spells. I just like to only use E, W, E because it uses a little less mana (unless you have blue, then spam your spells :P). However, you also could get to a point in the game where your first E kills all the little raptors, so in that case, E>auto the big raptor>Q>auto a couple times and the big raptor should die. Taking the wolves is also acceptable. I do the same rotation, but might add a Q in there because the big wolf is pretty tanky. If you have the opportunity, even taking the the enemy's jungle camps works in favor for you.



When should I take these camps?
1. When your lane is pushed far and you are able to take these raptors and return to lane in time.
2. I normally try to take a camp before I go back to base if I have enough mana/health. It gives me a little more gold before buying items.
3. WHEN THE JUNGLER SAYS ITS OKAY TO DO SO. PLEASE NEVER TAKE THE CAMPS IF YOUR JUNGLER DOES NOT GIVE YOU PERMISSION/(S)HE IS CLOSE TO THE CAMPS. If he is helping bot lane, you may take them because their respawn time is short, but remember that the camps are the junglers farm. You wouldn't want someone coming into your lane and taking all your farm.



4. Roaming
Because you are in the middle of the map, roaming is always an option. I normally wait until I have my Final Spark to start roaming, but if your teammates need help, roaming early has its benefits. The point in roaming is to help other lanes score kills and help your team get ahead. Remember that because you are a solo lane, you will hit level 6 faster than the bottom lane. You can use this to your teams advantage. Also watch how much you are roaming. I have seen too many people roam consistently and get nothing out of it, so they miss out on a ton of XP and gold from their own lane.



When do I roam?
1. The best time to roam is if you look at these things: There are no jungle camps to take, the enemy bottom lane is pushing, and you have your own lane pushed. If your lane is being pushed, never wander.
2. When the enemy mid laner is missing. Unless they are low on health or out of mana, they are normally taking a jungle camp or roaming. Remember to ALWAYS call MIA when your opponent isn't in lane.
3. Your bot lane is about to start a fight and you want to be there to help win it.


Note: Sometimes it is better to push your lane when the enemy opponent roams. Lux is a very immobile champion, so by the time Lux gets to the lane, the fight will be over. You will be wasting your time and will lose out on that XP/gold. Instead, push your lane and hit the enemy turret as much as you can- and maybe you can get the first turret gold. The other advantage to this is that you will be getting all of the gold and XP from staying in lane, meanwhile, your opponent will lose a wave or two of minions due to your strong push while they are away. Either they lose all of that, or they gain way smaller experience bot or top lane due to more allies being there. PLUS, if they farm, they're stealing their own ADC's farm! Win/win situation!


Teamfights

Teamfights are my favorite part when it comes to playing Lux because this is when her power really shines. She not only can peel for both your ADC and the rest of your team pretty well, but she has burst/damage + utility with her shield. This is why I love Lux so much, as she is very versatile in all areas. During teamfights, keep these things in mind:



1. Use your Lucent Singularity to poke enemy champions.
Before a teamfight actually occurs, Lux is able to poke some of the squishier champions down. This is very important before engaging a teamfight because Lux has the range and AOE from her Lucent Singularity. The less health the enemy champions have when you engage, the better the teamfight.



2. Stay back and throw your spells at your enemies.
This is the most important concept. As Lux, you are squishy and very vulnerable. Your positioning is key to surviving and dealing the most damage you can in a teamfight. You should be able to catch at least one, if not two, champions with your Light Binding. Your team can then engage and kill the enemy champions. You should ALWAYS throw out your Prismatic Barrier when the enemy team is poking/anyone engages, in order to soak up some damage for your teammates. Remember that this spell comes back to you, so if you miss a couple champions on the throw out, try to position yourself so your wand hits your allies on its way back to you.



3. Always remember to use your ultimate whenever you get the best possible chance
For example, say there is a Malphite on your team. Once he uses his Unstoppable Force and knocks them all up, that is your queue to ult. REMEMBER THAT THE ULTIMATE DOES NOT HAVE TO ONLY BE USED TO FINISH OFF AN ENEMY!! Dealing massive amounts of damage to a group of enemy champions will be way more effective in a teamfight than using your ultimate to finish off a single enemy. I know with the new cooldown reduction from a kill, it's tempting, but doing 1000 damage to 4-5 people is way more effective then doing 1000 damage to one person, and then 1000 damage to another person 20 seconds later.



4. Bursting down the ADC/Mage
If the enemy team isn't staying close together and there is no way to use your ultimate to hit more than one champion, this is another concept. Say the opponent's teams ADC is an Ashe. Ashe is very squishy! If you use your combo on her, she should die INSTANTLY (depending on her item build). This concept is to take the ADC out of the teamfight and make the teamfight a 4v5. You won't have your ultimate up for a fight if one breaks out right after, but as you made it a 4v5, your team has the advantage and you should use your other spells to help peel for your team!


5. Helping your ADC survive
This is another concept that I don't think a lot of people realize. The ADC's role is to do the most damage and carry the team! The downfall is that they are usually very squishy and need some type of peeling. Lux is perfect for this. Especially if the support on your team is that tanky Leona who is jumping into the enemy team, Lux stays back and casts her spells next to the ADC anyways. Here's the perfect example of how you can help your ADC survive:
Say there is an enemy Rengar who keeps trying to jump onto your ally, Lucian. Use your Prismatic Barrier to shield the damage rengar might inflict on your teammate. Right when he uses his ultimate to jump, you should immediately use your Light Binding and root Rengar in place. This will not only save your Lucian, but will take one more enemy out of the teamfight.


When is Lux a good choice?

There are 3 things to look out for before choosing Lux:



1. Look who you are up against
In Draft Pick, look at what your enemy team chooses for their different roles. If they chose a Vi jungle or a Xin Zhao, you might want to reconsider choosing Lux. Lux is a very immobile champion and both Vi and Xin Zhao have amazing gap closers, to where their team can follow up on.
This is even better if you already know who the mid laner is. Look above at the chart on who counters Lux. You NEVER want to pick Lux into a Fizz, unless you feel confident in the matchup. However, if the mid laner is Twisted Fate or Ziggs, you should have no problem picking Lux.



2. Look what what your teammates are choosing
If your teammates are choosing champions like Caitlyn, Sona, Malphite, or Amumu, Lux is a perfect pick! With Caitlyn and Sona's poke or Malphite and Amumu's heavy lockdown, you will be able to poke along with them or use that Final Spark right when one of those strong AOE ultimates come into play!



3. Your own capabilities
As you play Lux more and more, you will really get a feel for her. Once you start learning to master her, some of these counters won't be actual 'counters' to you anymore. For example, in the beginning of playing Lux, I always got destroyed by an Ahri due to her mobility. Now, I know how to play against an Ahri and how to position myself- I even win lane most of the time! If you feel completely comfortable with the situation, you have free reign to pick Lux!


Lux Synergy

There are 3 things to consider when looking at synergy with Lux:



1. Poke
Poking is one of the best ways to create an advantage before teamfights. If your team pokes the enemy champions health down, someone may be forced to recall. This will either make it a 4v5, or they will have to stay in the fight with half or low health. Here are some champions who work very well with Lux in poke:

Top: Cho'Gath, Gangplank, Jayce
Jungle: Nidalee
ADC: Caitlyn, Corki, Ezreal, Varus
Support: Brand, Karma, Sona, Vel'Koz, Zyra



2. Teamfight
Teamfighting is one of the most important parts of the mid/late game. If your team wins teamfights, you are able to freely take objectives like baron, dragon, or turrets/inhibitors. There are some champions who work very well with a teamfight composition (keep in mind that some of these champions are able to go in more than one certain position, I just put them in the position they are normally in; EX: Wukong can go top or jungle but he is normally top so I put him in the top category). Most of these champions have some type of ultimate or other ability that provides utility, such as CC or damage, to the enemy team:

Top: Cassiopeia, Galio, Gnar, Kennen, Malphite, Rumble, Wukong, Yasuo
Jungle: Amumu Fiddlesticks, Hecarim, Jarvan IV, Sejuani, Zac
ADC: Jinx, Twitch, Sivir, Vayne
Support: Alistar, Annie, Bard, Leona, Lulu, Sona



3. Engage
The third thing to look for is champions who engage. Engaging can be more tricky, as each individual champion needs a different set of utility from Lux in order to succeed. For example, you may follow up a Morgana bind with your own bind. From there, your team will be able to jump on that specific enemy champion, kill them, and then make the fight a 4v5. Whereas, with Jhin, you can use your bind from your Light Binding and slow from your Lucent Singularity to help ensure that his four shots hit. Here are champions that are good engagers:

Top: Irelia, Jax, Lissandra, Maokai, Sion
Jungle: Diana, Elise, Gragas, Nocturne, Vi, Volibear, Warwick, Zac
ADC: Ashe, Jhin, Kalista
Support: Blitzcrank, Morgana, Nami, Nautilus, Pyke



Conclusion

My conclusion is to just have fun!! Lux is such a fun champion in both the mid lane or as a support (look in the "About Me" section for my support guide), and can be used in various ways! She has amazing range and poke, along with a really damaging and fun ultimate! Thank you SO SO much for reading my guide!
