Soraka Passive Ability
Introduction
The more games I play with Soraka, the more I start to be picky. Now I know that I can do more than support or AP. Well, with Soraka everything is possible ;)
That´s why I reworked my last guide.
This guide is about the ways I play, please comment/vote only if you have tried the build once.
If you find any mistakes please write a comment. I will fix it.
One more thing. If you want to try AP/AD/jungler build, write your team that you are one of these during Champion Selection. It will protect you from some troubles. (If you don´t play with your friends or your team, be sure that they will be angry, if you aren´t support)
Consecration Consecration: This is nice passive. Early game it´s very useful especially during Team Fights against Mages.
But be careful, this passive can have an opposite effect. If you want to go help to your team and hide in bush, it can reveal your presence.
Tips and Tricks
- The best way how to use this Passive is through combination with Deffense runes and masteries. Enemy AP champions will hate you ;)
Starcall: This is Soraka main damage ability. A little unpleasant is short range (only 335), but it´s balanced with short cooldown. Starcall also reduce Magic Resistance for 8 sec. It can stacks up to 10 times.
Tips and Tricks
- You can try to keep debuff from Starcall, lower MR = better damage
- Starcall has low range, but it gives damage to all enemies in range. For example: When you are fighting against Shaco or Teemo and they are trying to get you to bushes, you don´t need to go. Just stay beside bushes and use Starcall. Same for Evelynn or Twitch. Even they are invisible, they are still here.
- If there is Shaco in Enemy Team and you are not sure if you can go to bush, because there can be Jack In The Box. Use Starcall before you enter the bush. It won´t have the visual effect, but if Jack In The Box is there, you can use it.
Astral Blessing: This is one of best single target heal in game. Little problem is long cooldown, even you have 40% cdr your Astral Blessing has 12 sec cooldown.
Tips and Tricks
- Don´t wait too long to use Astral Blessing, don´t forget that it give your target Bonus Armor for 5 sec (125 Armor at lvl 5).
- It´s a good combination with Heal and Wish.
Infuse: "Silence! I kill you!!" very well-known sentence. Infuse has 2 ways how to use it:
- First: you can Silence your enemy for 2.5 sec on 5 lvl. So you can save your own or your Team lives with Infuse.
- Second: You can refill your team mate´s mana. According last patch restored mana was increased to 40/80/120/160/200. It´s not so bad to be on lane with Ryze and spam his Overload on enemies.
Tips and Tricks
- Infuse has no mana cost. So you should spam it on enemies or on your team mate as you can or you can use it for killing mobs.
- Of course every champion who use Abilities hate Infuse (especially Vladimir).
- Which abilities you can interrupt with Infuse:
- Fiddlesticks -> Bountiful Harvest, Crowstorm: If Fiddlesticks isn´t clever and start channeling his Crowstorm before you, just stop him.
. - Anivia -> Flash Frost: If she use it, be sure to silence her. Then she cant stun if you aren´t in max range.
. - Galio -> Idol of Durand: Keep distance from Galio, so you won´t be caught with Taunt and you can save your Team.
. - Karthus -> Requiem: If he start channeling it when he is alive and you are near him, you can Silence him and avoid damage. But if he use it after death, because of Death Defied, the only chance how to save your team is using Wish.
. - Lux -> Lucent Singularity: She will use it, you will be slowed. But if you silence her, she can´t detonate it.
. - Nunu & Willump -> Absolute Zero: When you silence him, it will explode immediately. But it won´t do such damage.
. - Rammus -> Puncturing Taunt: You can prevent him to use his taunt.
. - Shen -> Shadow Dash: Same as Rammus.
.
- Fiddlesticks -> Bountiful Harvest, Crowstorm: If Fiddlesticks isn´t clever and start channeling his Crowstorm before you, just stop him.
- There are a lot of opportunities with Infuse during Team fights, for example:
Amumu -> Curse of the Sad Mummy: If you silence Amumu before team fight, he can´t use his ultimate. And your Team can kill enemy attackers.
But this depends on your situation and consideration.
Wish: This is the best heal in the game. It instantly heals your whole team.
Tips and Tricks
For Soraka Silence is the most powerful ability. But there are champions and abilities who don´t care if you silence them.
.Spirit Rush
Ahri can dash forward for three times.
When Ahri use Spirit Rush and you Silence her, she can´t use other abilities or continue with Spirit Rush during Silence. But it won´t cancel her next dashes..
Pyroclasm
Flame that bounces between enemies.
Once he use it, it can´t be stopped with Silence nor Stun. The only way how to stop it is to kill Brand..
Crowstorm
He flashes to the target location with a flock of crows around him.
This ability can be stopped during channeling. But once he jump to fight, you can only stop him from using other abilities like Terrify or Bountiful Harvest.
.
Judgment
Spinning, spinning, spinning.
After using Judgment it´s better to keep distance, or kill him as quickly as you can. Because this ability you won´t stop..
Slicing Maelstrom
Electrical storm.
Same like Fiddlesticks. But little more problematic, because of stun which you get..
Finales Funkeln
A beam of light.
Even if it looks like channeling. Finales Funkeln can´t be stopped with Silence. But you can be sure, that when you have low HP, she will use it..
Soul Shackles
Damage, Stun and Damage.
I really hate this Ultimate. The only way is to escape on more range than 600, or you will get stun and damage again. ..
Powerball
Rolling with high speed.
When you see Rammus to rolling to you, it can´t be canceled, only stoped with shackle or stun. But when he is close to you, you can use Silence to prevent his Puncturing Taunt..
Ruthless Predator
Dash, swing, dash..
His Ruthless Predator is for next attack. It can´t be stopped when he activate it..
Flamespitter
Annoying flamethrower.
Be sure to keep distance from Rumble. You can´t stop this Ability and it will hurt you enough..
Undying Rage
Immortality.
I am not sure now, but it can be used even if he has stun right? Well, during Silence he can use it..
Thundering Smash
I will catch you.
Against Volibear it´s better to keep distance. This ability can´t be stopped and once he get to you, it usually your death if you don´t have Flash..
Cyclone
Spinning and knocking up.
This is similar to Garen. Once he start spinning, Silence won´t stop it..
Remove Scurvy
Gangplank will renove CC effects on him and heal himself.
Of course, if you Silence Gangplank, he can´t use his abilities except Remove Scurvy. He usually won´t use it, when you harass him with Silence. But don´t forget, during fights and especially during team fights, he will remove Silence (Stuns ...) and use Parrrley..

Important Information
.
Soraka isn´t Champion who immediately start fighting with enemy champion. You usually die. Late game the possibility to do this is real. That´s why there is this harrasing method.
.
.
This depend on situation but you will use
and
between this sequence (or other letters explained lower)
.
Extreme Important Information - SelfCast
.
How many letter do you use???
I suppose that you are using Abilities: Q W E R and Spells: D F
.
NOT ENOUGH!
I suppose that you are using Abilities: Q W E R and Spells: D F
.
NOT ENOUGH!
- letter W is Astral Blessing -> Heal on target
So when you need heal yourself and there are a lot of minions or enemy champions then targeting yourself is difficult.
That´s why there is SelfCast
If you want to play Soraka well you really need to set this.
I personally set SelfCast of Astral Blessing on A

So my skill sequence is little different. During Team Fights I use:
.
E-> W -> Q -> R
.
but when I am targeted or when I fight 1vs1 I use:
.
E -> Q -> A -> Q -> E -> R (depend on situation)
Of course D and F too.

If you buy one of these items don´t forget to change positions in your inventory.
- Deathfire Grasp is the part of my build. It gives you extra attack ability. I am using Deathfire Grasp at the start of the fight. More HP = more dmg.
. - Zhonya's Hourglass is very useful item, when you are targeted a lot. Give you more AP and Armor (good choice against AD carry) and it can save your life.
. - Moonflair Spellblade you should buy this item if you don´t feel safe because of Stuns, Shackles and so on. It give you some AP too.
. - Quicksilver Sash is other version of Cleanse. Great against Fiddlesticks and his Terrify or Malzahar and his Nether Grasp. It won´t cancel it (you still get dmg from it), but with Quicksilver Sash you can run away from it or Stun / Silence Malzahar. This is great item against Taunt too ( Rammus, Shen, Galio).
. - Randuin's Omen is good choice against AD champions. You have 20% chance to slow you enemy attack speed and movement or you can Activate it and reduce Attack Speed and Movement all enemies in range. Great combination with Exhaust.
. - Shurelya's Battlesong give you and your team movement speed (better way to change place).
. - Guardian Angel maybe int´s so great in Dominion, but it gives you more resists and revive you if you die.
. - Frozen Heart is good choice, if there are a lot of AD champions in enemy team. Especially good against AD ranged.
. - Locket of the Iron Solari is great choice for support style. Because now you don´t have to sell your Heart of Gold, it´s fine to change it to Locket of the Iron Solari. It gives you some Armor and HP and it´s aura item for your team.
. - Athene's Unholy Grail is perfect item for someone, who needs mana and CDR. When you play AP Soraka, you spam your skills a lot, so this is a good choice.
I am sure, that all of you know about annoying Karthus. It´s always problem when you or your team have low HP and if he gets lots of kills, his damage will rapidly increase. But don´t worry, because you are playing with Soraka.
The best anti-champion against Karthus.
.
The best anti-champion against Karthus.
Little about his abilities
.
.
- Death Defied is relly irritating passive. Don´t stay too close to him when he die. He will use all his abilities to kill you. The biggest problem is when he use his Requiem during this passive.
- Lay Waste is his traditional attack on Lane. It has 875 range and sometimes is little problem to dodge it. It´s fine if you have a lot of MR or Boots early game.
- Wall of Pain, I think that a lot of people forget about decreasing Armor and MR from this ability. But Karthus use it primarily for slowing you.
- Defile, you can always expect this spell during fights. He will use it especially during team fights and after his death.
- Requiem is the reason for this Chapter. Damage for whole enemy team. Karthus usually get kills with this ultimate, but agains Soraka it isn´t so easy xP
.
Soraka x Karthus on Lane
.When I play with my friends and Karthus appear in enemy team. My friends immediately want me to go Mid against him (he usually go on Mid Lane). Reason is simply, my abilities can save their lives.
.
Tips against him
.
- He usually start with Lay Waste, so the important thing is to avoid damage from it. Try to stand away from Minions, this will force him to wonder: Attack you or minions?
. - There are two tactics he use for Lay Waste:
- He will use his Lay Waste behind you, because he thinks that you will try to escape from him. It has delay, so he won´t use it under you so much, if you don´t stay on one place like tree.
. - When he find out, that you won´t try to escape, he will start to use it in front of you. Prolem is, when you want to attack him, you have to go through his Lay Waste.
- He will use his Lay Waste behind you, because he thinks that you will try to escape from him. It has delay, so he won´t use it under you so much, if you don´t stay on one place like tree.
- For Wall of Pain there is same rule like before. But once you get to this wall, he will hurt you with Lay Waste. It´s one of his usual combination.
. - It´s fine that Soraka isn´t melee. When you attack with range, his Defile isn´t so much problematic (I am not saying that he won´t hurt you with this ability).
. - Be sure to get away from Karthus as quickly as you can. Once he get to spirit form ( Death Defied), he has high chance to kill you. He don´t need mana for his abilities and only spam them.
. - As I already wrote. It´s fine to have Boots when you go against him on Lane, it´s really important to dodge his Lay Waste or he will kill you quickly.
Other way how to stand against him is with a lot of Magic Resist. But you are choosing this before game (I sometimes regret that I didn´t choose other playing style)- AP carry -> Boots + 2x Health Potion + Mana Potion
- Deffense -> Regrowth Pendant + Health Potion

This is reason why I wrote this chapter.
.
Tips
.
- Karthus is usually on mid to get his 6 lvl quickly. When you are staying against him on Lane, at least don´t die. You have to get 6 lvl like him.
. - The most important thing is to watch Karthus and when he use his Requiem, use Wish during channeling.
Note: Early game you won´t have problems to overheal his Requiem, but if you fed Karthus on mid -> he get more AP, then Wish won´t save your team. In other words, it´s important to play carefully (if you are new with Soraka).
. - Try to have Karthus on your screen. If he is stupid and start channeling near you, you can silence him and avoid damage -> This make him angry more than Wish.
. - It´s fine to leave your Wish for Requiem. I know that this isn´t always possible.
. - Don´t forget on Death Defied. If he is in Spirit Form, Wish is only way.
Personally I can say, that when I play against Karthus, he really hates me. And usually their team too x) Little problem is during Team fights -> You will be their main target.
Soraka is noteworthy champion. There are so many ways how to play her. So just choose what you like.
..
First time I did it but I didn't do it.
Last time, that's when I really blew it.
This time I'm gonna do it different 'cause I know,
if I put everything I have into it

AP Soraka Now you are mage. Stars and Silence are your power. |
SPACE |
AD Soraka Basic Attack powa, don´t forget on your Astral Blessing buff. |
SPACE |
Support Soraka The most common style, especially during ranked games. |
SPACE |
Jungler Soraka Just little help on Blue and you are fine. |
.
It depends on you which one you want to play. But don´t forget! Everywhere you need Wards.
.iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible | Sight Ward | iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible | Vision Ward |
Wards protect you before ganking and give you view of your enemy position.
It´s more difficult to stay on the lanes without mana from Infuse. But still with this style you are mage -> AP carry. You should try to get Mid or Solo top Lane.
.
Masteries
.
Offense 21-0-9
.
Better AP and damage. At least 4% cdr from Sorcery, but if you make Deathfire Grasp, you will have 19% cdr. It would be fine if you take Crest of the Ancient Golem (Blue aura). With good AP Items and offense masteries, you will be dangerous. I changed Swiftness . I started play with full movement bonus from runes and masteries. You are squishy and this saved my life many times. And when we have Chalice of Harmony, there is no problem with it.
.
.
.
Runes
.Runes
- I started playing this style, because there are a lot of dangerous champions now. It´s good to be faster. And these 15 AP, I will survive without it.
Other ways
.Runes
- Greater Mark of Magic Penetration give you nice Magic Penetration and with
Arcane Knowledge
, it´s perfect for your Starcall and Infuse.
. - Greater Seal of Replenishment: It gives you nice Mana regen. I am using combination of
Meditation
, Doran's Ring and Greater Seal of Replenishment for my Mana Regen early game.
. - Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power: Of course AP is relevant on Soraka.
. - Greater Quintessence of Ability Power: Some AP early game with AP from Doran's Ring will increase your dmg with Starcall, Infuse and increase your Astral Blessing too.
Runes
With this choice you will have lower AP early game, but better Magic Penetration. It depends on you what will you like more.
.
.
.
Spells
.
My choice
.invisible |
. You should have at least one possibility how to escape from ganking or sometimes you need to catch up your enemy. |
invisible |
. This is awesome spell, it helps me a lot during fight. Great against Soraka for example, because it reduces healing. And thanks to Summoner's Wrath you have some AP, when you use it. |
Other choices
.
.
- When I started playing with Soraka I always used Clairvoyance. It gives you awareness of situation on the map and feeling of security. This usually has support champions.
. - Exhaust is especially great choice against AD champions. It can often save your life and help to kill your enemy.
. - With one more Heal you will become indestructible. Great combination with Wish.
. - I don´t have a lot of experience with Surge, but these AP from it are useful.
.
.
Skill Sequance
..First I max my Starcall and Infuse. With AP you will have good heal even you don´t have 5 lvl Astral Blessing.
.

Items

Changed build:
.
Item Sequence
Deathfire Grasp
3100
Rabadon's Deathcap
3600
Athene's Unholy Grail
2250
Rylai's Crystal Scepter
2600
- Doran's Ring -> Bottom Lane or Solo top
- Boots + 3x Health Potion-> Mid Lane
You should be more careful on mid now, you have lower HP and AP. But Boots are needed against Ahri or Karthus (and other mages).
I make Sorcerer's Shoes earlier than CDR Items. Because Movement Speed is necessary (Sometimes I buy Chalice of Harmony before Sorcerer's Shoes, it depends on situation). The next thing is Chalice of Harmony. Reason is simple -> Magic Resist and Mana regen. Then I complete my Deathfire Grasp. Deathfire Grasp give you 1 extra attack, Soraka has only 2 Abilities for damage, so this is very useful. But you won´t get CDR anymore, so it´s good to buy Elixir of Brilliance. After that I buy Needlessly Large Rod or Giant's Belt according situation. Now it depends on the game, usually it´s time for Rabadon's Deathcap, but sometimes I complete my Athene's Unholy Grail sooner. For more Mana regen and useful CDR.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter give you more HP and AP and great advantage for your Starcall and Infuse (Slowing enemies).
Well, I left last slot free. It´s because I almost never had full item build. So I left one slot free for situational items -> More Armor / Resist or Hp.
.
.
You can´t get Mana from Infuse anymore. That means that you have to more appreciate your Mana, so you can´t spam your Starcall like before. Now you should use it for hurting your enemies instead of minions only.
This leads to consideration, more Mana or better Mana Regen? Well... As you can see in my Items, I am using better Mana Regen. I am not a fan of Rod of Ages and resembling Items. And when you stop spamming your Starcall it´s not problem to regen Mana back.
About spamming Starcall... Starcall and Astral Blessing have different Mana Cost now. So it´s not impossible to spam it.
And I usually max Infuse on mid, so there is absolute no problem with Mana.
Little for fun build. But you know, AD supports are dangerous. Especially early game. AD Soraka can go bot with other supports.
But be careful, Early game you have nice dmg and can push line a lot. But Late game you won´t be so strong, the only chance is to force your enemy team to surrend or have good team.

My choice
.invisible |

Other choices

- Ignite is nice spell, especially against other Soraka or champions with heal.
This spell has good chance for First blood too.

. - Surge is perfect for AD champions. And now, you are one of them. 35% Attack Speed is very useful.

Skill Sequance

Wriggle's Lantern
1800
Phantom Dancer
2800
Infinity Edge
3300
Black Cleaver
3000
Bloodthirster
3400
I start with Doran's Blade. As AD champ you should to kill minions. If you have a good game you can buy B. F. Sword before Berserker's Greaves. If you get B. F. Sword then you can buy complete Phantom Dancer befoure Wriggle's Lantern. Then Infinity Edge, Black Cleaver and Bloodthirster.
(I am sorry for short comment to Items, but I always played AP champions, so I am still learning about AD :)
The most common playing style. Well, It´s obvious, she has awesome heal, can give mana and silence. Perfect Support ;) With this build you should go on lane with AD carry (It´s not a condition)
.
Masteries
.
I am using 2 masteries. I think it depends on my mood :)
Deffense x Utility
.
Deffense x Utility
Deffense 0-29-1
.
Whole masteries are set for reduction incoming damage and for some Armor and Magic Resist. I am little wondering about Evasion , but I still didn´t use it.
With this I use Deffense runes too.
.
Utility 0-9-21
.
You are here to support your team, especially with Wards. That´s why I have Scout . As support you should live on Gold regen Items and Assists -> Sage . With Intelligence you have some cdr. Greed and Wealth are obvious for Support.
.
.
.
Runes
.
This depends on my Masteries. I am using different runes for Deffense and different for Utility.
.
Deffense Runes
Runes
- Greater Mark of Magic Resist, Greater Glyph of Magic Resist, Greater Quintessence of Magic Resist: Combination with Consecration give you awesome Magic Resist. When you buy Null-Magic Mantle for your Aegis of the Legion, all mages will hate you :)
. - Greater Seal of Armor, Greater Quintessence of Armor: I always hated AD carry on Bottom Lane and their damage. This should give you more survivability.
I am using this Deffense style, when I want to be little bastard for enemy team, you know Supports are very squishy right? Especially early game x)
.
Utility Runes
.
Runes
- Greater Mark of Cooldown Reduction, Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction: CDR is relevant for Soraka. Her Astral Blessing has 20 sec cd without reduction.
. - Greater Seal of Vitality: Soraka is really squishy, that´s why I wanted a little more HP.
. - Greater Quintessence of Gold: I am using this with combination with Greed and during game with Gold regen items.
.
.
Spells
.
My choice
.invisible |
. This spell is perfect combination with Astral Blessing and Wish. And save you and your Allies during fights. (Especially when they are trying to kill you on your Turret) |
invisible |
. It´s fine to have awareness about positions of your enemy team. Can save you from ganking. |
Other choices
.
.
- A lot of people rather Flash than Heal for escaping from fights. It depends on your choice. I had games when I never used Flash, that´s why I have Heal.
. - Teleport is very useful, when you need to get close to your team. You can use it on wards too.
. - Ghost can be taken instead of Flash.
.
.
Skill Sequance
.
.Of course Astral Blessing is important, that´s why I max it as first. I have Starcall on lvl 5, but it´s my choice.
.

Items
.
Final build:
.
Item Sequence
Aegis of the Legion
1200
Timeworn Talisman of Ascension
2200
Soul Shroud
2285
Zhonya's Hourglass
3250
Rylai's Crystal Scepter
2600
I know that Support should have 5 Items, because he need place for Wards. This depends on you, I usually buy Zhonya's Hourglass as last item, but when they don´t target me so much I buy Rylai's Crystal Scepter.
Starting Items is Faerie Charm with 2 Sight Ward (You can buy 3 Sight Ward). Core Items are Gold regeneration Items: Philosopher's Stone, Heart of Gold
Sometimes I buy Kage's Lucky Pick for more gold regen. Of course later you have to sell it.
When I play with Deffense I am trying to quicly buy Aegis of the Legion. You will have more than 100 Armor and Magic Resist. It has aura for your team too.
A lot of people use Ionian Boots of Lucidity for better CDR. But not me! I am buying Mobility Boots. Soraka is really slow, so it´s important to have better movement speed for changing positions swiftly.
After Aegis of the Legion I buy Shurelya's Battlesong and Soul Shroud.
You should always have some Sight Ward and somewhere Vision Ward is better.
During game is important to buy Oracle's Elixir for revealing enemy wards.
.
Gold Regen Items
I usually buy only 3 GR Items. But there is possibility to buy all 4 items.
-> Philosopher's Stone, Heart of Gold, Kage's Lucky Pick, Avarice Blade
combination with Greater Quintessence of Gold gives you awesome Gold regen.
Only problem can be with slot in Inventory for wards.
Thanks to albableat for this information
.
.
.
Warding
.
Wards are significant. Always buy at least 1 ward when you are at town.
..
Early game, when you start Bottom Lane, you should keep your First ward in water bush or in front of Dragon. It´s fine to have your Second ward in bush above your Turret. A lot of junglers are trying to gank you from this bush, because they know about Wards in water.
Note: You should use Clairvoyance to protect your team on Top or Mid lane. Even they should have at least 1 own ward. (Don´t use it only for your own lane, when you buying wards)
.
Mid game, you should keep wards in front of Baron and Dragon. It´s a good time to buy Oracle's Elixir.
.
Late game, start warding in enemy jungle, if you are pushing them. Wards around buffs are good choice.
If they are pushing you, it´s fine to have wards around mid lane (in bush) and around red buff.
.
If you want to know warding in detail, read this: Warding helper - More than your eyes can see
Note: At first I have to say: Please don´t downvote just because you think that Soraka is only support. Sometimes is fine to make Solo lane for your team, when you dont have Jungler. Of course, you have to gank and help your team on lanes.
Sometimes my team don´t have jungler and it's a shame to let our jungle to enemy jungler. Soraka can be jungler, but it´s better if you have champions with stun, shackles on lane. And even better when you play premade.
There are 2 ways how to play jungler Soraka.

You need Starcall and Infuse for dmg. I am using Astral Blessing on lvl 2, it's more pleasant to have more than 150 heals.

.
For jungling this isn´t the easiest way, but during ganking more effective. With your Starcall and Infuse there is high chance to get kills for your team.
During this build is very important to don´t forget to use Deathfire Grasp.
You start with Doran's Ring and then buying Sorcerer's Shoes. After that just follow Item build.

It´s very similar to Supporter´s deffense build, but instead of Soul Shroud I buy Rabadon's Deathcap. It´s fine to have Blue buff as you can.

As I said, it´s better if you have premade or at least champions with Stun or Shackles on Lanes.
You start on Blue (It´s fine if your team little help you except only pulling - at least few basic attacks). Then you go on Wolves -> Ghosts -> Golems. Now to Town to buy Boots and 2x Health Potion.
.
It´s time to try ganking. After this try, go for Red buff and continue jungling. And when is chance, try ganking and help your team on Lanes. Don´t forget on your Abilities, your Heals can save your Team-mates.

- More difficult way as AP Offense style according N1trogen and his video AP Jungle Soraka - N1trogen Gameplay
- More safer way as Deffense style according gustix and his video Jungle Soraka [Season 2], but I am using my full defense style, when I decide for this way (same as Support).

. - Greater Quintessence of Ability Power it´s fine to have some AP early game.

Now I won´t care which style you play. I just show you the most common champions on lanes and some advice against them (for Soraka). (Don´t hate me if they will be on other lane then you expected. All depend on people and their playing.)
.
Important rule
If you push hard, be sure to have ward in water. And if your enemy suddenly start attack, even he has low HP, their jungler is there too.
(This rule applies everywhere.)
..
1st way: Bottom Lane Usually there is AD + Supports. It looks like a rule x) (if there is support in team) |
SPACE |
2nd way: Mid Lane Be sure that you will stand against mages. They love mid lane. |
SPACE |
3rd way: Top solo Lane There is high chance to meet meele off tank or something like this. |
Usually combinations
If there is support and any AD range, there is high chance to meet them here.
.
AD Range
.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Ashe |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Because of Focus she has high chance for Critical Attack. It´s fine to hide behind minions before her Volley. Once she has Frost Shot, there is small chance to escape. She is using Hawkshot as protection before ganking. Don´t underestimate her Enchanted Crystal Arrow, it´s awfully long stun.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Caitlyn |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Just keep little distance when her Headshot is ready. Piltover Peacemaker ins´t so fast, you can dodge it without big problems. If you are ganking or just on lane be sure that Yordle Snap Trap will be in bush, especially water bush. 90 Caliber Net can be used for jumping over trees (in jungle). If you have low HP, the only way how to survive against Ace in the Hole is when your team will protect you.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Miss Fortune |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
If her Strut is active, running away or trying to get her is useless. It´s a shame when she hit you and your team-mate instead of minions with Double Up. Try to keep distance when she active Impure Shots, especially with Soraka, because of lower heals. Miss Fortune like spamming Make it Rain, thank goodness for high Mana cost. One of long range Ultimate is Bullet Time, it´s hard to dodge it when she combinate it with her team´s abilities. But you can stop it with Infuse.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Vayne |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Well, she can get to you quickly with Night Hunter. She can use her Tumble for Attack or for escaping from area abilities. Really dreaded is combination of her Silver Bolts and Tumble on third hit. Be careful, if you fight inside jungle, perfect place for her Condemn. Final Hour give her little stealth for her Tumble, there are so many possibilities how to use it (escaping, dodging, attaking).
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Tristana |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
On 18 lvl it´s more difficult to hurt her, if she keep distance, because of Draw a Bead. If she combine her Rapid Fire with Critical items, it´s tough to stand it. Jump to turret and jump away, that´s style of her Rocket Jump. Another champion with Heal reduction -> Explosive Shot (they should abolish them xD). Sometimes she saves you rather than kills you with her Buster Shot x)
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Graves |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
He has the highest Armor and Magic resist from AD ranged champions because of his True Grit. Don´t try to hide behind minions against his Buckshot. I really hate his Smoke Screen, when you don´t see what is happening, then it´s hard to help. With Quickdraw he will often dash to fight or run away. If you have low HP, look out on his Collateral Damage.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Corki |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
With his Hextech Shrapnel Shells he will give you more damage on basic attacks. If you are trying hide in bush, he can use Phosphorus Bomb and reveal you. Traditional attack when you are near to him is with Gatling Gun. And be sure that when he has low HP he will try to escape with Valkyrie. His ultimate Missile Barrage isn´t so difficult to dodge, but be careful, these 4th missiles (Big Ones) can hurt you enough.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Urgot |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible | Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverse |
His Zaun-Touched Bolt Augmenter is like little Exhaust, unpleasant. His traditional Attack is combination of Noxian Corrosive Charge and Acid Hunter. If he affects you with Noxian Corrosive Charge, he will immediately use his Acid Hunter, because he can lock it on you. If he activate Terror Capacitor, he gain shield, but his attacks will slow you. About his ultimate, Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverse, he usually use it when you have low HP and you are around turret, or when you are trying escape, or when they are pushing (for example: When enemy team attack your town, Urgot cen use his ultimate on your best damage dealer, to get him out).
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Ezreal |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
He will try to keep his stacks on Rising Spell Force by spamming Mystic Shot and Essence Flux. Against Mystic Shot you can hide behind minions. But his Essence Flux injure only champions, it can go through minions. Experienced Ezreal will use his Arcane Shift to avoid attacks, or to to get you when you are escaping. But Soraka don´t have problems to miss with attack with Starcall and Infuse :) Little problem is his Trueshot Barrage, be sure that he will use it to kill you during your escaping.
.
.
Supports
.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Janna |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Tailwind and Zephyr make her really fast. As support, she is trying to stay in bush and harass you with Howling Gale. She will use her Eye of the Storm as much as she can, especially for AD range it´s nice help (on 5 lvl it will give them 50 attack damage for 5 sec). Monsoon is more used for escaping or ganking than healing -> something like Flash behind you and knock you to Turret.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Karma |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Her Heavenly Wave isn´t so great for heal, but it can save lives. To slow you or just quick changing position, that´s why there is her Spirit Bond. I really hate her Soul Shield, especially when she use it with her Mantra.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Sona |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Common combination for her Power Chord is with Hymn of Valor, with her Hymn of Valor she will try to harass you too. Aria of Perseverance is really annoying low cd heal. Sometimes is hard to catch her with her Song of Celerity. During Teamfights her Ultimate Crescendo can decide the battle.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Soraka |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible | Consecration |
I think I will just refer you on Chapter Abilities. Well, you should know, what your champion can do.
Little joke: When I played against Soraka on Mid Lane, she really fed me. After some time her team wrote to All chat: "Our Soraka said that she has a shorter range on her Silence than you, that´s why you kill her." It was really funny. But back to reality, I really don´t have longer range than others xD
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Taric |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
When he deff around his Turret he can regen his mana with Gemcraft. Imbue heals his target and himself too, it really save him from decision-making (>>>Heal me or my Team<<<). His Shatter is very useful against AD champions. Be careful, if he is in bush, he will try to use Dazzle, it can be your death. I heard a lot of people complain on changing his Radiance, but now it's more real to kill him.
.
.
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Zilean |
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinvisible |
Heightened Learning is useful passive (primarily for junglers). Early game it hurts a lot, when he use his Time Bomb again and again. Thanks to Rewind he can detonate his Time Bomb immediately. Changing position with Time Warp is no problem for him, or slow you. "Three small gold hourglass around champion" that´s Chronoshift. If you kill champion with Chronoshift on him, he won´t die.
.
.
For me the worst combination I have ever met:
.
.Both of them were AP and Sion maxed his Death's Caress as first.
Traditional attack -> Sion used his Death's Caress in bush and Morgana used Black Shield on him. You can´t Silence him because of that and he can use his Cryptic Gaze with no problems.
.
.
.
She isn´t the easiest one. If you start with this build, Anivia isn´t the right choice, but if you want to try it:
Anivia keeps a distance from you. People usually know about range of Infuse and Starcall, that´s why. Be sure to avoid her Flash Frost. If you get stun, she will immediately use her Frostbite, because of debuff from Flash Frost she will give you bigger damage. Once Anivia get 6 lvl and her Glacial Storm, she will become sassy. Beware of her combination of attacks. Don´t forget on her Passive. You need to kill her twice (If her Rebirth is ready).
-> You should keep distance and avoid her Flash Frost. But always when she use it, she will come near to you. It´s your chance to use Infuse and Starcall. If you see that she will stun you for sure, try to Silence her, then she can´t hurt you with her Frostbite during your stun.
.
.
.
Clever Malzahar won´t come near you. Be sure to avoid his Call of the Void. It will Silence you, he usually use it behind you (He thinks that you want to run away :)) Malzahar will find out that the only way how to hurt you is through Malefic Visions. So keep distance from him, but from minions (who have it) too. The biggest problem is his Nether Grasp. Combination of his 3 attacks is death for you.
-> You should be careful and avoid his Call of the Void. Use Infuse on him as you can. You can kill him easily, but there is a way how he play against Soraka. Be more careful if he buy Hextech Revolver his Malefic Visions will hurt you, because he max it as first ability.
Good choice to buy Quicksilver Sash against his Nether Grasp.
.
.
.
Clever Vladimir won´t come near you, but they are stupid (Thanks goodness xD). You can use Infuse before he use Transfusion on you. But keep distance a little, because his Transfusion has short cooldown. So just don´t be greedy :) You give him more damage with Infuse than he can heal with Transfusion. Be careful with Sanguine Pool, he don´t use it only to escape, but to attack too. With Hemoplague will start a little trouble, but don´t worry, because Silence is powa :)
-> You should be attentive and use Infuse whenever he come towards you. Thanks to Ignite he won´t heal himself so much. But be careful, when ha has Transfusion on lvl 5, he has only 4 sec cd on it ( Infuse has 6 sec with 40% cdr).
.
.
.
Veigar usually starts with Baleful Strike in order to stack his AP. Little harder is to dodge his Stun - Event Horizon. If you get stunned, he will try to use Dark Matter. His Primordial Burst will hurt a lot when both of you get a lot of AP.
-> Veigar is squishy, use your Infuse as much as you can. If he hurts you with Dark Matter, go back for a while to heal yourself. He will often try to stun you, if you get inside his Event Horizon, try to stay in the middle and don´t get stun. You can still fight.
.
.
.
Swain will try to caught you with Nevermove, but it isn´t so hard to avoid it (He often use it as Malzahar his Call of the Void -> behind you). If you will dodge his Nevermove and hurt him, he can chance strategy. He will start to keep distance from you, so beware of his combination Torment and Decrepify. And he is same as Anivia and others, once he gets Ravenous Flock, he will become sassy.
-> Try to dodge his Nevermove and use Infuse with Starcall whenever you can. But keeping distance is important, especially when he gets his Ravenous Flock. If you want to fight with him, prepare your Ignite.

Well, Ahri is little complicated. All her spells have too good range.
She is usually using Orb of Deception through minions on you. And once you aren´t behind minions, her combination begins: Charm -> Orb of Deception -> Fox-Fire and if you are still alive and trying escape Spirit Rush is your the end.
-> You should stay behind minions and avoid Orb of Deception, you are starting with Boots, it´s not so difficult to avoid it. Once you aren´t behind minions, be sure dodge her Charm. It´s usually your death. But don´t worry, because Ahri is one of conceited champions, she will come near you (not always, some people have little respect against Soraka).
.
I will correct her abilities once it will be on Mobarife.

The first impression of Viktor is little problematic. Main problem is his Power Transfer, because it´s on Target. And when he use his augment on Power Transfer and use it, he will get extra 30% movement speed for 3 sec. Be sure to try dodge his Death Ray especially when he use his augment on this ability (extra magic damage over some sec). His Gravity Field don´t give you damage, but slow and stun if you will stay in it too long. His augment of this spell give him some mana, 10% cdr, but the main thing is additional 30% cast range for Gravity Field (from 625 cast range to 812,5). His Chaos Storm give you some magic damage immediately and then this spell will be following you for sure and hurting you.

Brand is one of my unpopular champion. I don´t know why, but I alwayas go to his Pillar of Flame. And that´s a problem, it hurts and you get Blaze debuff. And once you get Blaze, he will use his Sear to stun you. Little problem is with Conflagration, that´s a target ability, but it don´t hurt so much like Pillar of Flame. If you are here alone, then Pyroclasm isn´t so big problem, but if there one of your team-mates and it will start "jumping" between you, it´s usually your death.
-> Try to stay behind minions and dodge Pillar of Flame. If you will avoid it, be sure that he will use Conflagration on you or minions around you. Once you get Blaze, then he will try to stun you with Sear. But it´s not impossible to avoid it, thank goodness. As I wrote, if you are alone, then Pyroclasm isn´t so problematic. But during Team fights it can kill you quickly. Strategy is simple, harass him with Infuse and Starcall as you can.
.
.

With Deadly Cadence Cass hasn´t problems with Mana so much, it´s annoying how long she can harass you. Noxious Blast is like Lay Waste, but it give her extra Movement speed if she hit you. Miasma is usually under minions or around turret, so you can´t hide before her so easily. Twin Fang is main problem, if you get poison debuff from Noxious Blast or Miasma, she will have only 0.5 sec cd on this ability. This spamming ability really irritating. Petrifying Gaze need a little skill, it can stun you or slow you, if you are faced away from her.
-> The basic task is dodging Noxious Blast and avoid Miasma. If you get poison debuff and she will start spamming Twin Fang, it will low your HP really fast. But once she get Silence, she is harmless. Be careful against her Petrifying Gaze, if you get stun, it´s your end.
.
.
.
I am not sure how exactly Void Stone works. Well, he usually have his Null Sphere as first ability. It's unpleasant because if you use your silence at the same time like him his Null Sphere, both of you will be silenced (but his Silence give more damage early game). Once he don´t have mana, he can get it back with Nether Blade, if you let him hit minions. Force Pulse is part of his traditional attack -> Null Sphere + Force Pulse. At least he can´t use it all the time. Once he gets Riftwalk, problems start immediately.
-> Try to harass him with Infuse, if he won´t use his Silence like you, you won´t be hurted. When he get Force Pulse he will start using his abilities to charge it, but he have this ability ready when he attacks. The main problem is Riftwalk and traditional attack -> Riftwalk + Null Sphere + Force Pulse. This combination can kill you in seconds.
Note: You can be sure, that he will start his attack with Riftwalk. So when you go forward to him use your Infuse on him. Even if he jump, Soraka will immediately use her Silence when he is in range. But you can´t use other abilities or change position, if you do that, "the command to silence him" will be interrupted.
I hope I wrote this understandable..

Akali won´t hurt you if you will keep distance. But be sure, that she will find out soon, that the only way how to hurt you is through Mark of the Assassin. Little problem will start with lvl 6 and her Shadow Dance. Don´t underestimate her, Akali is really strong champion.
-> You should keep distance and use Infuse as much as you can. Be sure, that you can deal a lot of damage to her with Silence. If she use Twilight Shroud, immediately spam Starcall. Don´t fight with her inside her Twilight Shroud.

With Alistar there are some problems. He will use Triumphant Roar a lot, but don´t let it worry you. Be careful with his Pulverize, if he suddenly comes towards you, enemy jungler is close. That´s why Wards and distance is relevant.
-> You should keep distance and use Infuse as much as you can. Be careful, if you push him to tower, he will try to get behind you and use Headbutt and then Pulverize. Don´t underestimate his Unbreakable Will, if he is clever and use it with half HP and no as method to escape, he can kill you.

.
Garen has big endurance, it´s troublesome. He will often use his Judgment. But real problem is when he hide in bush. He will dash towards you with Decisive Strike and then he will use Judgment. Big problem is his Demacian Justice, if you have low HP don´t stay on Lane with him, Turret won´t protect you all the time.
-> Distance is important, moreover be close to him when he use Judgment isn´t safe. Be sure that he will want to Silence you from bushes, don´t give him this advantage. And keep your's eyes open during fight he will use Courage. It´s the same bother like Unbreakable Will.

Lee Sin trouble, if I can call it like that, will start with 2 lvl. If he choose Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike and Safeguard / Iron Will. Dash towards you, dash away from you. Really annoying method. Once he has all his 3 abilities, he will start his Dashing method with Tempest / Cripple. With his Dragon's Rage he will try to get you to his turret or prevent your escaping.
-> Try to avoid his Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike, if you are running away, he will try to fire it in front of you. Use traditional harassing method and beware his Dragon's Rage, Soraka isn´t champion who fight near enemy tower.
.
.
.
Malphite will spam his Seismic Shard on you. It´s a little problem, because you need heal yourself and it costs a lot of mana early game. But if you keep distance, you don´t have to have worry about his other abilities except his ultimate Unstoppable Force.
-> He will use his Seismic Shard all the time. Your advantage is, that you can refill your mana and use your abilities all the time. But be careful during pushing to his turret, his Unstoppable Force is perfect combination for attack with their jungler.
.
.
.
Nasus will try to stack damage on his Siphoning Strike. You can interrupt it with your Infuse and make him some problems. Be careful with his Wither, it´s the worst slow I know. Very good combination with the attack of their jungler (If you push hard, you will give them First Blood).
-> You can catch many of his tries to stack damage. If you let him stack damage on Siphoning Strike, it will hurt you a lot. Be sure that you want escape when he use Wither on you and don´t forget that his ultimate Fury of the Sands give him some HP.
.
.
.
His method? He will dash to you with Nimbus Strike, then use Crushing Blow on you and dissapear with Warrior Trickster. I hate him, when he use this combination >:( Be sure that when he will do this a few times, your HP will be really low and he can kill you easily. Moreover his Cyclone stop you from escaping.
-> Don´t rush so much to pushing him. Just harass him from distance. Beware of his combination, when he is in bush, it´s almost impossible to dodge it. Zhonya's Hourglass are maybe good protection from his combination.
.
.
.
Be careful, because Renekton has good damage. Because of Reign of Anger he is more dangerous with low HP than full HP. On Solo he usually use his Cull the Meek to kill minions. Keep in mind his traditional attack -> Slice and Dice + Ruthless Predator, he will use Cull the Meek too, if he has cd. Little problem is his ultimate Dominus. You think that you will kill him, he use his Dominus and kill you.
-> Against his attacks, Soraka is squishy. Be sure to keep distance and harass him as you can. Watch out his combination of attacks, minions won´t save you. Keep in mind his Dominus.
.
.
.
Don´t forget, that when he overheats himself, he has additional damage on physical attack - Junkyard Titan. Once he get to you, he will attack with Flamespitter. He will often use his Electro-Harpoon from bush. Little annoying is his Scrap Shield, it don´t give only shield, but movement speed too. If he has good AP, his The Equalizer really hurts. He will use it especially at the start of team fights.
-> Try to dodge his Electro-Harpoon, he will use it to harass you. Try to keep distance, when he gets to you, he will use his Flamespitter. Scrap Shield is problematic, if he use it right, he will avoid damage from Infuse. Be careful with The Equalizer, try to get from it as quickly as you can.
.

.
I can say it clearly. I hate HIM! He started with Meki Pendant and spammed his Omen of Pestilence on me all the time. Once I hurt him, he used Omen of Famine and had full HP again. I was in shock, he spammed his skills all the time and had no problem with mana. Once he get Omen of Death, it was like little cherry on the cake.
-> Don´t choose him as the opponent, if you can change lane. If you can´t, then defend your turret and rely on your jungler and team.
