Akali
|
|
|
|
Akali is a melee assassin, who's potential really shines post-6. Play aggressively in this lane. Starting level two, when she tries to last hit harass her and make her back off. Her damage can in no way compete with yours before 6. She is only a threat if she gets an early kill or you allow her to farm.
|
Items: Early
Hexdrinker only if something goes wrong and she gets fed early, otherwise build as normal.
Harass: As often as possible pre-6, and whenever she tries to farm post-6.
Expected result: Easy lane.
- When she
Mark of the Assassin's you, she can do a neat trick where she waits for the CD to be refreshed, and then AA-
Mark of the Assassin-AA for a quick double pop of the mark, leading to a large burst of damage. Avoid this if possible.
- If she conceals herself in her shroud, your
Judgment still damages her.
- After 6 you should be able to pick up kills very easily if she tries to farm. She will be forced to either farm from a distance with
Mark of the Assassin or use it to harass you and hope you leave.

Cho'Gath has very good CC, and late game he can be very tanky while still doing a ton of damage. He has much better lane sustain then you, but he is limited by his high mana costs. His silence can land before you can use yours, so take this into account when charging him. |
|
|
|
Cho'Gath
|
Items: Early
Hexdrinker if he plays aggressive and/or you get hit by
Rupture often.
Harass: Whenever possible.
Expected result: Farm lane.
- Killing him often will prevent him from getting
Feast stacks, and he will become much more manageable.
- When exchanging, run in circles around him. It makes it harder for him to land a
Rupture or
Feral Scream
- If he uses either of his damage abilities to farm, harass him with yours.
- He can easily burst you for half of your health post 6, always be attentive in lane.

|
Darius
|
|
|
|
He is essentially your noxian counter-part. As far as damage is concerned, it is touchy. Once you have a few points in Judgment you can outdamage him in an exchange, but be sure to disengage right after it ends. Keep your health up with your passive, and don't engage when you both have half health as his ult should be doing more damage. Play carefully in this lane; you need to capitalize on a mistake of his to get a kill. Once you do, you should snowball very easily.
|
Items: Build as normal. If he gets ahead, an early
Giant's Belt will help.
Harass: Starting at level 3 or 4.
Expected result: Difficult lane until you get a kill on him.
- Darius has 0 escape mechanisms, so if you can get a good gank it should be an easy kill.
- If he
Apprehend's you into his minions, silence him and then use
Judgment, but start to head back into your own minions. An extended fight on his side leads to a victory for him.
- When your abilities are on cooldown, he can completely outmatch your damage. Be careful when you use them.
- His passive is more potent than you might initially give it credit for, be wary and avoid any extended fight.
- Whenever possible, let him initiate with
Apprehend so that you can easily disengage as soon as
Judgment ends.

Dr. Mundo is a tank that is very good at sticking to his opponents and dealing good DPS to them. In top lane, he isn't a huge threat. His damage in a fight is lacking, although he does have decent poke. Mainly farm, but at the same time keep him off of farm through your much higher damage. |
|
|
|
Dr. Mundo
|
Items: Build as normal.
Harass: Whenever possible.
Expected result: You may not get many kills, but it shouldn't be difficult.
- Stay behind minions to avoid his cleavers.
- Save your
Ignite for when he ults.
- Use
Judgment on him when he goes to last hit, and after he hits you with
Infected Bonesaw use
Decisive Strike.
- His ult only increases his health regen and it does a lot of self damage, so if he is low and uses it you can still use
Demacian Justice to finish him off.

|
Fiora
|
|
|
|
Fiora is a melee adc, so she is traditionally very squishy with high DPS. This means she can be easy to burst, but her sustain competes with yours and she still does a lot of early damage. Your silence is essentially useless on her as well.
|
Items:
Warden's Mail early if needed.
Harass: Earlier the better.
Expected result: Can go either way.
- She has no escape from ganks, so early presence from a jungler to start you snowballing can make this lane super easy.
- After 6, if you know a fight will be to the death save
Courage for when she ults.
- Try not to use your
Decisive Strike on her
Riposte. Use the active speed boost to get in range, but then
Judgment before using the auto attack enhancement.

This lane can go multiple ways depending on his build. Generally you will outdamage him in trades but with a few good crits he can get a surprise kill and snowball on you. If he builds tankier however, it should be no issue. |
|
|
|
Gangplank
|
Items: Build as normal.
Harass: When he moves into your minions.
Expected result: Easy lane if he doesn't snowball with critplank.
- Generally
Gangplank will try to earn a lot of money with
Parrrley and an
Avarice Blade, but if he pokes at you a lot you need to take advantage of his low mana.
- Make sure to warn your team when he hits 6.
- Never duel in his ult if you can help it, its damage may not seem like much but it can do a lot.

Garen
|
|
|
|
Mirror lanes always suck. It comes down to who gets the first kill, or who gets caught with an ability on cooldown. Nothing really can be said about this.
|
Items: I would probably go with a
Sunfire Aegis in this lane, but if you can get some early kills go with a damage build and stomp him.
Harass: Eh.
Expected result: Ehhhh.
- Your abilities will do that same damage, so let minions win fights for you.
- Get jungle help and keep your lane warded.

This chick wants to farm for a half hour then enter a teamfight 0-0-0 and 1v3 your carries. Her damage is low early on, but she has a fairly safe laning (for a melee). Win this early because she will kick your *** late. |
|
|
|
Irelia
|
Items: Build as normal.
Harass: WWhenever.
Expected result: Easy lane.
- Move toward your minions when they get low, even if she isn't around it. That way if she wants to farm with
Bladesurge she risks jumping into your range.
- If she jumps on your
Courage her stun, and then decide if you can kill her in a fight or if you need to run, since an
Irelia will never jump you unless a gank is coming.
- Likely she will often be ulting your minions for an easy 6 cs and some sustain, so if she starts to just move out of the minions to avoid damage.

Jarvan IV
|
|
|
|
He is typically seen in the jungle due to his good gank potential, but he is occasionally top. Often he will get a damage item in lane and then build tank after that.
|
Items: As normal.
Harass: Trade with him if he jumps you.
Expected result: Fairly easy lane.
- His ult can set you up for a gank amazingly, so warding farther out is a good idea.
- His mana costs are fairly high, so if you wait for him to use it all up he can't do much.
- Your sustain is much greater than his, so overall your resources are much better. Outlasting him in lane shouldn't be an issue.

Jax is a late-game hybrid psuedo-carry. He typically builds more AD oriented, although an even mix or a straight AP build is possible. |
|
|
|
Jax
|
Items: As normal.
Harass: When possible as long as you aren't entirely in his minions.
Expected result: Fairly easy lane.
- He outscales you so take advantage early.
- You continue dealing damage with
Judgment through being stunned, which is a large advantage.
- He can be hard to gank because his
Leap Strike allows him to escape to a friendly unit. Time a gank when he has no allied minions arriving behind him.
- A lot of his power comes from stacking his passive, don't engage him when he has a lot of stacks.

Jayce

This lane will be no fun at all. It is dependent on who gets the first kill, if he gets it you will have little to no chance coming back. If you get it, the playing field is leveled and you can probably farm a little bit more than usual. His kit has a disengage and kite, which counter Garen fairly well. He can just AA you from ranged when you try and last hit, and jump in when you get low.
|
Items: Early
Warden's Mail
Harass: Anytime you can silence him before he knocks you away
Expected result: Difficult lane, farming under tower a lot

As a champion that can be AD, hybrid, or AP, [kayle] can be played in basically every lane or position. Top lane she tends to be either hybrid or AP, which generally means higher burst damage through Reckoning. |
|
|
|
Kayle
|
Items:
Spectre's Cowl if she is building AP.
Harass: If she uses
Reckoning.
Expected result: Fairly challenging lane.
- She is very good at applying ranged harass as well as kiting.
- If she holds onto her
Reckoning cooldown it will be very challenging to catch her since it will counter
Decisive Strike. Once she uses it feel free to harass.
- Her ult will make it challenging for you to ult, make sure to not waste your cooldown or get baited.

|
|
|
Kha'Zix is typically picked as a clean up champion, who uses resets on his leaps to deal a lot of damage. He is mainly played mid as well, but can be seen top.
|
Items: As normal.
Harass: When he gets too close.
Expected result: Mediocre lane.
- His sustain can keep up with yours if you don't apply enough pressure.
- Don't follow him into bushes, his passive damage could turn the fight in his favor.
- Your ult is stronger for dueling than his is, post-6 you should gain an advantage.

|
|
|
Lee Sin
|
Items: As normal.
Harass: When possible.
Expected result: Easy lane.
- It is easy for
Lee Sin to
Safeguard to a minion you want to last hit and set himself up to land an easy
Sonic Wave for some solid harass, but your silence should counter it.
Lee Sin is notable for his ability to set up and make spectacular plays. Be on the lookout for any funny **** he may try to pull.

A commonly banned champion for his ability to hard initiate as well as stack armor while gaining damage, he can present an issue to any AD champion in lane.

Items: As normal.
Harass: When his mana is low or he has no
Seismic Shard.
Expected result: Difficult lane.
- He is very mana intensive early game, if you force him to
Seismic Shard to disengage often he will run out.
- You need to balance your passive and his passive reactivating. Constant harassing is a good idea if you know you can outsustain him with pots.

I don't know how else to say this, but you NEED to make this guy your *****. He has a very weak early game until he gets his Siphoning Strike farmed up. When he tries to last his, silence him and start spinning. You need to apply constant pressure and stop him from farming, because as soon as he starts to get farmed he can make your life hell.
|
Items: Build as normal.
Harass: As often as possible.
Expected result: Fairly easy lane if you apply constant pressure.
- If you
Decisive Strike to close the gap and catch him, he will just
Wither you. To counter this, stand right at the front of your minions, and engage him when he gets in melee range trying to last hit.
- If at all possible try to control the lane and have it just in front of your turret. This is the most efficient way of denying cs.
- Be wary of diving him, as
Fury of the Sands is a heal-spike as well as DPS.

Harass: If you can catch her/when she tries to farm in cougar form.
Expected result: Can be challenging if she plays AD and is passive.
- Dodge spears.
- If she ever jumps you, you can probably kill her.
- Dodge spears.

A remarkable weak champion at the moment, Olaf utilizes CC immunity, slows, and true damage to hunt down and kill the enemy ADC in team fights.
|
Items: As normal, build health if you get behind.
Harass: When
Undertow is on cooldown.
Expected result: Easy lane.
- His
Reckless Swing range is larger than your auto attacks, so he may use this to his advantage to get off free harass.
- He shines when hes low health, luckily
Demacian Justice shines brighter. Don't fight him to death without your ultimate though.

|

Pantheon
|
Items: As normal.
Harass: Before he drops your health too low through poke.
Expected result: Fairly challenging lane.
- Be sure to call mias, your mid won't appreciate a surprise
Grand Skyfall.
- Because of his passive, you should consider maxing
Courage second. The damage increse from
Decisive Strike will be blocked anyway.
- You are stronger post-6 than he is, due to a better skirmish ult.
- His poke can be infuriating to
Garen, if he drops you low health and still has mana, you need to go back to base as you will be zoned from minions anyway if you stay.

|
Items: As normal.
Harass: When possible.
Expected result: Haven't played this lane enough to be sure.
- A lot of her laning potential is her ability to stun you into a wall, whack you with

- If you are low, don't stick around since she can easily dive with her jungler and her ult.

Expected result: Fairly easy lane.
- He can be deceptively tanky with his

Rumble
|
|
|
|
Rumble is a magic DPS champion. He runs without mana, so he can spam his abilities. A level two kill is entirely possible, especially if you exchange once at level one. Rumble is a late game champion, and he snowballs easily, so establish dominance early. He has a lot of kite with his Electro-Harpoon and Scrap Shield, so engage him when one of them is on cool down.
|
Items: Early
Hexdrinker.
Harass: When his abilities are on cooldown.
Expected result:
- Rumble players often use their abilities to farm (especially
Flamespitter), so take advantage of the fact that their damage is on cool down and engage them right after.
- Pay attention to his heat, and try to balance empowered abilities with the inability to cast any more. Unless he already overheated, it is probably best to let him cool off before engaging.
- I noticed that this isn't in his passive description, but
Rumble gains 20 heat per ability use (
The Equalizer generates no heat). He loses heat in increasing increments if he doesn't use ability for a few seconds.

Expected result: Farm lane unless you snowball.
- If he ults, immediately disengage unless you can kill him in the next 3 seconds.
- When he moves behind your tower to farm, coordinate with your jungler or mid for a gank, but be warned you need good CC to kill him.

Expected result: Probably easy, but I haven't seen one before like ever. (not literally)

Talon
|
|
|
|
Make him regret not going mid. His rake's can be very annoying, but they will also push the lane and he won't be able to escape a gank without his ult. If he jumps you, you easily outdamage him.
|
Items: Build as normal, with maybe a
Ruby Crystal and/or
Cloth Armor to make his damage completely unfelt.
Harass: When
Rake is on cooldown, or he jumps you.
Expected result: Won lane if he doesn't snowball early.
- Most
Talon players build glasscannon, which makes it very easy for you to burst him down.
- All his damage comes in a small burst of a second, unfortunately his silence prevents you from popping
Courage until it ends. However, if he uses
Shadow Assault you can activate it when he reappears or AAs you to prevent the further damage.
- Remember to save your
Decisive Strike until right after he rakes.
- General tip: if in a teamfight he jumps your carry, be sure to silence him before he can ult. A
Talon without stealth is a dead
Talon.

This lane is going to be tough. Pre-6 you need to use the bushes to your advantage as much as possible. Post 6 you may lose that benefit, meaning you have to farm under your tower more. Without the help of a jungler, you probably won't be able to do much. |
|
|
|
Teemo
|
Items: Rush
Hexdrinker assuming he builds ap.
Harass: If you can catch him.
Expected result: Tough lane, with denied farm.
- This is going to be a typical case of simply not being able to catch him.
Teemo's kiting ability on someone like
Garen is the main reason this is a tough lane.
- Because of how
Toxic Shot pushes lanes, you can let him push the lane under your tower and then farm there fairly safely. You should be able to get last hits on the melee and siege minions, you can get the caster minions as well but when you do you get in range of
Teemo again.
- Once you hit 6,
Flash-
Decisive Strike-
Ignite-
Judgment-
Demacian Justice. Every single time
Flash is off cool down. With the silence he wont be able to outrun your
Judgment, and due to his low health you can even end
Judgment early do
Demacian Justice earlier, so that he's dead before the silence wears off.
- It is better to zone yourself in that lane than it is to give the
Teemo kills.
- From experience, you should have anywhere from 50% to 75% of his farm, but if played smart you can get kills while he can't.

- His main damage is from auto attacks and
