MUNDO GOES WHERE HE PLEASES | In-depth Dr. Mundo Masterclass

By Bonkk

Greetings Summoner!

I hope that you're doing well in your climb this season.

Welcome to my Dr. Mundo guide!

A short description of myself before we proceed with the guide. I am Bonkk. I play in the Philippine server, having downloaded and played league while we were stuck in the horror that is the Garena server.

I'm a fairly new player actually, having started playing during season 10. I'm a top/support player with Dr. Mundo as my main as well as a variety of other support and mid champions.

You can search for my accounts in op.gg. My username is: Bonkk, and Gobu. I look forward to helping others improve their gameplay, while also improving myself along the way :)

I poured my heart and soul to doing this guide, so hopefully you’ll enjoy it.

“Mundo make big corporate merger today!” - Corporate Mundo

Dr. Mundo is a multi-role flex pick that can comfortably dominate both the Top lane and the Jungle (and put in work as a pocket Support!).

Dr. Mundo is a solid, resilient pick that scales into an unstoppable, unkillable mid-to-late game juggernaut for his team.

Instead of relying on heavy crowd control, Dr. Mundo relies on massive health scaling and high base damage. His passive, Goes Where He Pleases, resists hard CC entirely, turning you into a pure walking stat-check that the enemy team cannot easily peel or lock down.

He is an incredibly safe blind pick thanks to his safe farming tool in Infected Bonesaw, allowing you to survive tough matchups and safely scale until you hit your massive item spikes.

Very few champions capture the pure, unadulterated fun of pressing R, running through five enemies at Mach speed, and hitting towers while completely ignoring their team (subjective).

Play Dr. Mundo if you love being an unpeelable boss monster who dictates the pace of the map just by existing.

+Strong scaling
+Very high durability and tankiness
+Strong early poke
+Strong sidelaning
+Forgiving champion, mistakes won't cost you the entire game
+One of the strongest tower taking in the game
+Low skill floor, very easy to learn
+Decent waveclear, becomes really good by mid game
Dr. Mundo is an elite juggernaut who exchanges hard utility for unkillable stat-checking power as the game goes late.

His scaling parameters allow him to absorb massive pressure, making him an incredible frontline asset that can easily access enemy carries.

Thanks to Blunt Force Trauma, his basic attack damage scales heavily with his maximum health, meaning you will naturally tear down structures and squash squishy targets without building pure offensive items.

-Immobile, can be easily kited around
-Counter matchups/items counter him hard
-No hard CC
-Predictable kit
-Q is a skillshot, can be blocked by minions
-Minimal utility in kit
-Alright teamfighting ability if even
Dr. Mundo completely despises % max HP true damage dealers and itemization. Because his entire kit relies on building a giant health pool, targets that ignore those defenses strip away his tankiness.

Gwen, Fiora, and Vayne serve as major threats in lane or skirmishes, while items like Blade of the Ruined King or Liandry's Torment can severely melt your health bar.

Furthermore, because Dr. Mundo relies entirely on his ultimate, Maximum Dosage, for survival, early buys of Grievous Wounds items like Bramble Vest or Executioner's Calling reduce his healing thresholds significantly. Missing your Infected Bonesaw also leaves you wide open to being kited effortlessly.

Grasp of the Undying

Grasp of the Undying

Top lane Dr. Mundo's primary scaling keystone.

This is the absolute best keystone for the vast majority of your top lane matchups. It provides excellent short-trade power when you combine a Grasp proc with your Blunt Force Trauma auto-attack reset.

This rune features unmatched synergy with Dr. Mundo's identity. Because you build pure health items, the 2% maximum health bonus damage scales higher and higher as the game progresses.

Additionally, each permanent health gain from Grasp permanently increases the bonus AD you receive from Blunt Force Trauma's passive, ensuring you become a scaling raid boss who deals terrifying physical damage simply by stocking up massive health bars.
Demolish
Your absolute bread and butter for map pressure and split-pushing.

Because Dr. Mundo stacks health faster than almost anyone else in the game, your Demolish procs will chunk massive percentages of a turret's health bar in a single strike, making you a lethal sidelane threat.

Font of Life
A great supportive option, especially if you find yourself playing pocket Support or grouping heavily. Striking an enemy with Infected Bonesaw marks them, allowing your allies to heal off your massive health pool during skirmishes.
Conditioning Scaling defensive armor and magic resistance. Perfect choice for mid-to-late game teamfights once you cross the 12-minute mark.

Second Wind Elite sustain tool. Combine this with Doran's Shield and Dr. Mundo's natural regeneration passive to shrug off heavy enemy poke during tough laning phases.
Overgrowth
Infinite health scaling rune. Take this as your absolute default choice to inflate your maximum health bar as much as possible for your ability scaling.

Revitalize
Amplifies all incoming healing and shielding. This rune heavily increases the healing thresholds of your ultimate, Maximum Dosage, and boosts the gray health recovery on Heart Zapper.

Unflinching
Provides extra slow resistance and tenacity. Great when coupled with the canister recovery mechanic of Goes Where He Pleases.

Fleet Footwork

Fleet Footwork

Your primary lane sustain and mobility option.

Take this in lanes where you cannot safely walk up to stack Grasp of the Undying against heavy ranged harass or brutal matchup spacing.

The movement speed burst granted upon discharging an energized attack helps Dr. Mundo step up, safely last-hit a minion, and immediately duck out of harm's way.

The healing values scale incredibly well with your bonus health pools, turning every energized attack into an instant burst of health to keep you safe without mana worries.
Absorb Life Excellent lane recovery. Generates a small burst of healing for every single unit killed, heavily neutralizing tough top lane lane poke.

Triumph Clutches out tight skirmishes.
Restores 5% of your missing health upon securing a takedown. Because Dr. Mundo baits fights at dangerously low health pools, getting a Triumph proc mid-fight can completely swing a 1v2 or dive in your favor.
Legend: Haste Extra ability cooldown reduction earned dynamically over time. Reduces the cooldown on your Infected Bonesaw and Maximum Dosage.
Last Stand Pure damage amplification when your health drops low.

Features complete structural synergy with Dr. Mundo. Since your active goal is to bait fights at low health before turning them around with Maximum Dosage, this rune lets you maximize your damage multipliers exactly when you are lowest.

Arcane Comet

Arcane Comet

A highly niche, cheese poke-oriented keystone alternative.

Because your Infected Bonesaw carries a heavy built-in slow effect on impact, landing a single clever Q instantly guarantees that the Arcane Comet drop lands cleanly on your target's head. Useful if you want to turn the lane into an annoying, non-interactive poking gallery.
Axiom Arcanist Synergizes amazingly well with Dr. Mundo due to the rune's increased healing for your ultimate Maximum Dosage, and giving you a shorter cooldown upon takedowns.

Nimbus Cloak Extra bursts of speed whenever you activate Ghost or Flash, letting you run over targets instantly.
Celerity Amplifies all incoming movement speed bonuses. This scales the raw speed you receive from your ultimate Maximum Dosage and items like Dead Man's Plate.
Scorch Adds additional flat early magic damage burn properties directly onto your Infected Bonesaw connections, maxing out early lane harassment potential.

Approach Velocity

Essential secondary runic utility. Whenever you hit an enemy with Infected Bonesaw's slow effect, you gain an enormous burst of movement speed directly toward them, completely resolving your kiting weaknesses.

Magical Footwear

Free corporate boots containing a bonus +10 base movement speed stat line, allowing you to invest your early income into health item components.

Overgrowth

Maximize your late-game presence. It absorbs life from nearby dying minions to permanently increase your maximum health bar, which directly amplifies your overall tankiness and the bonus damage on Blunt Force Trauma.

The standard pick. A short-ranged emergency blink on a 5-minute cooldown. Use it to escape bad situations when Goes Where He Pleases is down, change positions during teamfights, or secure a close point-blank Infected Bonesaw to run a target down. Take this spell in the vast majority of your games.
For map control and laning. This summoner spell makes your early game laning phase incredibly forgiving. If you get low before scaling up, you can take a fast recall and immediately return to lane without ruining your minion wave. Teleport is also vital for mid-to-late game split-pushing, letting you smash side towers with Demolish and cross the map instantly when teamfights spark. You will take this in 99% of top lane matchups.
Mobility booster. An incredible alternative or addition versus heavy-ranged compositions that excel at spacing you out. Ghost features perfect synergy with Dr. Mundo. Activating it alongside the movement speed boost of Maximum Dosage turns you into an un-kitable juggernaut who can quickly run through frontline ranks to target backline carries. Takedowns extend its duration, keeping your speed active through whole skirmishes.
For pure kill pressure. Only opt into Ignite if you are looking to actively fight a volatile matchup early on, secure lane priority through aggressive play, or heavily counter enemy healing before your items are completed.

HOW TO MAXIMIZE TELEPORT

The recent map updates brought in Lane Quests, which are unique side objectives you finish by obtaining match experience. You accumulate this by securing minion final blows, taking down enemy champions, destroying outer towers, capturing map objectives, or participating in skirmishes.

Completing the top lane objective rewards your champion with Teleport as an extra spell slot if you went into the match without it. If you already chose it during champ select, it upgrades the spell instead.

The upgraded version grants a massive defensive shield when you land. This is incredibly powerful for Dr. Mundo. Appearing directly in a chaotic team fight with a massive temporary shield gives you a giant safety net to handle enemy burst damage before you choose to turn on Maximum Dosage. Keep in mind that earning the extra spell slot through the objective places it on a longer cooldown compared to the standard version.

Furthermore, finishing this objective raises your maximum experience potential, allowing your character to climb up to a higher final level for better end-game power scaling.

Goes Where He Pleases
Passive
Dr. Mundo ignores the next immobilizing crowd control effect that hits him. Instead of being stopped, he drops a chemical canister nearby and loses a portion of his current health.

Walking over the dropped canister restores a percentage of his maximum health and reduces the cooldown of this passive defense by a large amount. Enemies can step on the canister to destroy it permanently.

Additionally, Mundo possesses immense innate regeneration, recovering an increased percentage of his maximum health every few seconds naturally.
Common mistake:
Losing your canister for free. Many players allow opponents to step on their dropped passive canister without contesting it. Use your Infected Bonesaw to slow enemies who try to block your medicine, or use the movement speed from Heart Zapper to race them to the pickup spot.

Infected Bonesaw

Q
Dr. Mundo hurls an infected bonesaw, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit based on a high percentage of their current health, while slowing them significantly.

If the bonesaw successfully strikes an enemy, Mundo is refunded a portion of the health cost. If the bonesaw secures a killing blow on a unit, the health cost is completely refunded instead.

This is your primary farming and distance-harassment tool. Because the damage scales on the target's current health, landing this on high-health tanks early in a fight chunks them incredibly hard.

Heart Zapper

W
Dr. Mundo electrocutes himself, dealing continuous magic damage to nearby enemies over a short duration and storing a percentage of the damage he takes as gray health.

At the end of the duration, or upon re-activating the skill early, Mundo lets out a final toxic burst. If this burst strikes an enemy champion or large monster, Mundo heals himself for the stored gray health amount.

This ability is vital for surviving early burst combos. Timing it exactly when an enemy laner drops their primary damage abilities allows you to instantly recover that lost health bar during short trades.

Blunt Force Trauma

E
PASSIVE: Mundo gains bonus Attack Damage that scales directly based on his total maximum health pool.

ACTIVE: Mundo empowers his next basic attack to deal additional physical damage, which increases based on how much missing health he currently has.

If the empowered attack kills a minion or monster, Mundo bats the unit away, sending it flying in a straight line. Any enemies hit by the traveling corpse take the same physical damage. This acts as your primary wave clear and sneaky lane poke!

Maximum Dosage

R
Dr. Mundo pumps himself with chemicals, instantly gaining a massive amount of bonus base health based on his missing health pool.

He then gains a massive surge of movement speed, bonus attack damage from his Blunt Force Trauma passive, and heals for a massive percentage of his maximum health over a long duration.

This is your ultimate teamfight engine. It allows you to bait enemy divers at low health, turn on the chemical pumps, and completely run over their carries while soaking up turret shots like a true raid boss.

This is the definitive, standard leveling profile for Dr. Mundo. You max Infected Bonesaw (Q) first because it scales up your base damage and lets you control neutral lanes safely. It keeps your health costs managed while dealing heavy current-health magic damage, making it your primary tool to secure distant cs and poke out opponents. You max Blunt Force Trauma (E) second to activate your mid-game juggernaut scaling, as its passive converts your growing maximum health items directly into massive Attack Damage. Heart Zapper (W) is left for last, since its early protection values scale poorly compared to your primary offensive metrics.

This alternative setup focuses heavily on maxing Blunt Force Trauma (E) first. Take this pathway specifically into isolated, immobile melee matchups or tank mirrors where you don't need to stay back and poke. Maxing E first spikes your raw basic attack power early on, giving your auto-attack resets terrifying missing-health scaling. Additionally, it grants excellent wave-clear by letting you smash low-health minions straight back through entire waves to punish aggressive split-pushers.

Make sure to set your abilities to quick cast in the settings. This will enable you to do combos more efficiently.

Standard Auto-Attack into E animation reset trading pattern.

Titanic Triple-Attack Reset Burst Pattern.

Basic attack, immediately press Blunt Force Trauma(E) to trigger the first animation reset, and then instantly activate your Titanic Hydra to unleash a third consecutive swing.

This is Dr. Mundo's highest upfront burst combo, allowing you to catch opponents completely off-guard during side-lane duels or teamfight flanks.

Because both your E's passive AD steroid and Titanic Hydra's on-hit active scale massively off your maximum health pool, this rapid-fire delivery will easily chunk or completely execute squishy targets.

Full basic ability trade and skirmish rotation.

Similar to the core auto-reset pattern, but with the tactical integration of your Heart Zapper(W).

This is the maximum damage and sustain combo you can pull off utilizing a full rotation of Dr. Mundo's basic abilities during an extended trading window.

Activating Heart Zapper(W) right after landing your Infected Bonesaw(Q) ensures that any incoming retaliation damage while you walk up to land your AA ➔ Blunt Force Trauma(E) reset is stored as gray health. Popping the W detonation at the very end maximizes your magic damage burst while instantly healing back your lane expenses.

Heartsteel

Infinite health stacking item. Double down on Dr. Mundo's heavy health-scaling kit. For every item charge proc, you deal bonus physical damage based on your maximum health, which scales flawlessly with your passive Goes Where He Pleases health regeneration, Blunt Force Trauma (E) bonus AD conversion, and Maximum Dosage (R) health regeneration loops. It also heavily supercharges your secondary scaling tools like Demolish.

Titanic Hydra

AD-tank waveclear item. Grants on-hit and cone cleave effects on your basic attacks that scale directly with your %max HP. This item integrates flawlessly with your Blunt Force Trauma (E) auto-attack reset, allowing Mundo to execute an immediate, high-burst double-strike combo while melting minion waves instantly.

Warmog's Armor

Pure health and unstoppable lane sustain. Rushing this item turns you into an un-pokeable lane monster. The massive flat health pool spikes your early survivability, while the out-of-combat regeneration completely negates the health costs from your Infected Bonesaw (Q) farming and bad trades, allowing you to force your opponent out of lane through pure attrition.

You can build this item first to completely bypass difficult lane bullies or scaling match-ups where you just want to secure free farm. It provides an immediate power spike for an affordable gold cost, making your mid-game map transitions incredibly safe.

Sunfire Aegis

Waveclear, health, armor, and proximity damage item. Sunfire Aegis’ passive Immolate is exceptionally strong on Dr. Mundo due to its natural synergy with your high-health builds, as the constant burning damage scales directly off your max HP. It gives you the raw armor required to survive aggressive physical duelists while letting you clear waves without burning your abilities.

Hollow Radiance

Magic resist alternative to Sunfire Aegis. Provides health, magic resist, waveclear, and magic damage. This functions as a fantastic response to AP lane bullies, featuring a unique passive explosion whenever you execute a unit, which accelerates your waveclear patterns much faster than Sunfire against clustered minion waves.

Overlord's Bloodmail

Late-Game Damage Supercharger. This item converts a direct percentage of your massive maximum health bar into pure, unadulterated Attack Damage, scaling even higher when you are low on health.

It perfectly mirrors the missing-health AD bonuses on Blunt Force Trauma (E), transforming a full-tank Mundo into an absolute offensive juggernaut.

Thornmail

Essential Anti-Heal. In the majority of your games, you will need to pick this up—or at least sit on the Bramble Vest component early.

The raw Armor and Health pool are perfect for Mundo, and the passive reflects magic damage while applying Grievous Wounds to enemies who try to auto-attack you down.

Randuin's Omen

The Ultimate Anti-Crit Option. Unlike Frozen Heart, Randuin's gives Mundo massive flat Health alongside Armor, making it incredibly gold-efficient.

Its passive significantly cuts down incoming critical strike damage, and the active slow ensures squishy ADCs can't kite away from your cleavers.

Unending Despair

Sustained In-Combat Healing. Every few seconds while in combat with champions, this item erupts, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and healing you based on your maximum health.

Because Mundo builds astronomical health pools, this passive provides a continuous stream of extra healing during extended teamfights.

Spirit Visage

Mundo's Holy Grail Item. This is the most crucial Magic Resist item in your arsenal. It amplifies all incoming healing and shielding effects by 25%.

This completely supercharges your passive Goes Where He Pleases, your missing-health recovery loops, and turns Maximum Dosage (R) into an unstoppable fountain of youth.

Kaenic Rookern

Anti-Burst Shielding. Yields the highest flat MR value in the game. It creates a massive magic damage shield that refreshes after staying out of combat for a few seconds.

Since the shield scales directly with your %max HP, Mundo can easily absorb heavy AP ultimate combos without dropping a single drop of actual health.

Force of Nature

Sustained Speed & Magic Defense. Run this into high-frequency magic damage users or heavy damage-over-time styles (like Teemo or Cassiopeia).

Taking spell damage builds stacks that award up to 70 bonus magic resist and a 6% movement speed boost, allowing you to run down backline mages with ease.

Hullbreaker

Side-Lane Tower Crusher. Since your kit naturally stacks massive pools of health, Hullbreaker's structural damage passive scales beautifully into the late game.

Every fifth basic attack against towers deals heavy physical damage based on your max health, allowing you to tear down enemy base objectives in seconds if left unchecked.

Dead Man's Plate

Map Rotations & Catch Potential. Excellent choice when facing highly mobile compositions or when you need to act as your team's primary map responder.

It builds up momentum speed as you move, ensuring you can quickly charge down lanes, close gaps on priority targets, and stick onto backlines seamlessly.

Jak'sho, the Protean

Late-Game Combat Scaling. Jak'Sho is a supreme final capstone item. It awards a flat pool of Health, Armor, and Magic Resist out of the box.

Once you remain in combat long enough to fully stack its passive, it raises your total bonus resistances by a clean percentage, ensuring your late-game tank stats scale exponentially.

Sundered Sky

Aggressive Dueling Tech. A sleeper choice if you want to trade off pure defensive layering for high trading sustain.

Your initial basic attack against a unique champion is a guaranteed critical strike that heals you based on your missing health pool, chaining beautifully with a Blunt Force Trauma (E) auto-reset for high burst recovery.

Abyssal Mask

Magic Damage Shred. An offensive utility choice when playing alongside heavy AP allies. Its Curse aura systematically melts down nearby enemy magic resistance.

Because Mundo's Infected Bonesaw (Q) and Heart Zapper (W) deal heavy magic damage, this aura scales up your own offensive outputs as well.

Boots

Movement speed baseline. Grab these on your first back if you’re laning against a champion reliant on dodgeable skillshots, as the early movement speed makes sidestepping much easier. Since Mundo relies entirely on raw walking speed to close gaps, getting early feet is always a plus.

Plated Steelcaps

Anti-auto attack armor boots. The premier choice against heavy AD lane match-ups or lethal auto-attackers. You can combine these with an early Warden's Mail or Bami's Cinder to completely neutralize physical lane bullies during the early phase of the game.

Mercury's Treads

Magic resist and tenacity boots. While your passive Goes Where He Pleases natively blocks incoming hard crowd control, these are highly valuable when facing heavy AP team comps or layered, high-frequency CC structures that easily pop your passive canister.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Ability and Summoner haste boots. An excellent utility option when you are ahead or dealing with mixed damage threats. The added cooldown reduction translates directly into more Infected Bonesaw (Q) poke, higher Maximum Dosage (R) uptime, and much shorter cooldowns on your Ghost and Flash keys.

Boots of Swiftness

The ultimate gap-closing boots. Since your passive only shrugs off hard immobilizing effects, Mundo is highly susceptible to being continuously kited by heavy, repeating slows. Take these if you need to run down targets like Ashe or Nasus.

Sorcerer's Shoes

The nuclear cleaver boots. Pick these up if you want to troll.

Doran's Shield

The Definitive Starter. Offers essential flat health and reliable health regeneration. Take this into difficult lane bullies and heavy poke matchups, as the item’s passive restores health whenever you take damage from an enemy champion. Combining Doran's Shield with the Second Wind rune ensures Mundo can easily shrug off lane poke from champions like Teemo.

Ruby Crystal

Fast-Track Scaling Start. An excellent alternative starter when you aren't worried about enemy lane poke and want to rush your core item thresholds as fast as possible. Starting with a Ruby Crystal allows you to complete your Bami's Cinder or Warmog's Armor components incredibly early to jumpstart your waveclear or proxy strategies.

Refillable Potion

Pocket Efficiency. Pick this up whenever you have an odd 150 gold to spare on an early back. Because Mundo relies entirely on health costs to cast his abilities early on, having a reusable sustain tool provides immense gold efficiency and prevents you from burning through your regular potion economy.

Cloth Armor

Reactive Armor Base. Grab this component if you are looking to secure an early defensive cushion against high-threat physical damage dealers. It is a highly efficient inventory filler that builds directly into your early containment options like Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail.

Chain Vest

Raw Physical Mitigation. A premium mid-tier armor component that provides significant baseline damage reduction for its cost. Pick this up on an early recall to instantly shore up your physical defenses when building toward your major armor choices like Sunfire Aegis or Dead Man's Plate.

Warden's Mail

Auto-Attack Containment. Pick this up early if you are facing high-frequency attack speed top laners or an aggressive physical jungle threat, especially if you fall behind. Its Rock Solid passive flatly reduces incoming damage from basic attacks, which stabilizes your health bar beautifully.

Bramble Vest

Early Anti-Heal Spike. The ultimate priority purchase on your first back when laning against aggressive physical duelists reliant on heavy life steal or innate healing, such as Aatrox, Warwick, or Fiora. It applies immediate Grievous Wounds the moment they attempt to trade auto-attacks with you.

Bami's Cinder

Core Waveclear Engine. The most vital epic component in your early arsenal. It provides a clean pool of health alongside a magic damage immolate aura. This completely transforms your wave management patterns, allowing you to instantly clear minion waves and execute clean proxy farming routes behind enemy towers.

Tunneler

Juggernaut Foundation. This component serves as your primary bridge between defense and offense. It yields a perfectly balanced combination of base health and raw attack damage, paving a smooth assembly path directly into heavy physical scaling options like Titanic Hydra or Overlord's Bloodmail.

Giant's Belt

Premium Pure Health. One of the most effective standalone item components you can buy for Mundo. Because your entire kit scales natively with raw maximum health—boosting your passive regen, cleaver base checks, and offensive AD conversions—picking up a Giant's Belt provides an immediate spike to both your survivability and damage output.

Crystalline Bracer

Sustain & Rejuvenation. Combining a comfortable pool of flat health with baseline health regeneration, this component is tailor-made for shoring up Mundo's staying power during attrition-heavy neutral lanes. It cleanly offsets your early ability health costs and serves as a core ingredient when pathing directly toward Warmog's Armor.

Which build should I choose?

The optimal configuration for Dr. Mundo depends entirely on the game state: your team's damage profile, the enemy's anti-tank threats, and how quickly you need to reach your unstoppable late-game scaling.

Here is the strategic breakdown of Mundo's two definitive pathways.

Mathematical HP Stack

Mundo’s most synergistic, maximum-damage juggernaut framework.

Mundo's Colossal Cleaver Setup (HP + AD Scaling)

> > > > >

This pathway prioritizes building the massive health pool required to convert your defensive stats directly into terrifying physical damage. Dr. Mundo has heavy health-to-AD conversions built into his kit, creating a brutal offensive feedback loop with your items and runes.

Critical Warning: While this build lets you two-shot enemy carries and turn into a late-game raid boss, it leaves your effective health pool vulnerable to heavy %max HP true damage. Avoid greedy health-only stacking if you are playing directly into draft profiles like Vayne or Fiora.

The Mathematical Synergies:

Goes Where He Pleases (Passive) regenerates health based on his maximum health pool.

Demolish delivers structural burst damage that calculates directly off your maximum health ceiling.

Heartsteel introduces massive baseline health and pushes your maximum health scaling infinitely via combat procs.

Titanic Hydra transforms a percentage of your massive health pool into raw on-hit and cleave physical damage.

Overlord's Bloodmail functions as Mundo's ultimate capstone, multiplying your Attack Damage based on your missing health—synergizing perfectly with your low-HP dueling identity.

Full Resistance Tank

Mundo’s most reliable, unkillable frontline setup.

The Unkillable Setup (Armor + Magic Resist Focus)

> > > > >

This build treats Mundo as an un-kitable, damage-absorbing sponge. By backing up your natural health scaling with high armor and magic resistance multipliers, you maximize the efficiency of the healing from Maximum Dosage (R).

You sacrifice the massive AD values of the juggernaut build, but you gain massive effective health ($EHP$) values. This ensures you can run straight through enemy crowd control and backlines without bursting down before your ultimate can tick up.

Your initial rush item should always stabilize your lane management. Prioritize an Immolate item immediately— Hollow Radiance against magic damage lanes or Sunfire Aegis against physical duelists—to keep your lane farm efficient.

Always adapt your resistance priority to counter the opposing team's primary fed carry. If the enemy team relies heavily on critical strikes, move Randuin's Omen forward in your sequence; if they rely on heavy lifesteal or auto-attackers, lock in an early Thornmail. Finish your build with Jak'Sho, The Protean to increase your total resistances by 30% during extended teamfights.

A slow push is used to slowly build up a big minion wave then crashing it all at once on the enemy.

This can be good for setting up kills, dives, roams, and recalls.

For diving, this will help in the sense that the minions will help you kill the enemies since there are multiple of them, and the enemy attacking you will make the minions take aggro against them, and in the early game minion auto attacks hurt. Trading 1 for 1 under the enemy’s tower with a big slow pushed minion wave also puts you really ahead, since both of you are even from killing each other, but you are denying the enemies a big amount of gold and experience due to the tower killing the minions without the presence of the enemy while you yourself aren’t losing much and the enemy minion wave will bounce back and push towards you once you arrive in lane, resulting in you gaining an advantage by having a minion wave advantage. Since slow push waves are big, the amount of resources you are denying is also big.

To execute a slow push, make sure to only last hit and make sure your wave has 1 more minion than the enemy minion wave.

After executing a slow push, your on a timer until the enemy minion wave reaches your tower and you start losing minions, though with a slow push you are given way more time than a fast pushed wave, due to the tower and enemy minions dealing with a larger quantity of your minions, so a slow push is good to pull off post-6 when you want to recall then walk to assist taking dragon.

A fast push/shove is basically as the name implies, pushing the wave as fast as possible.

You want to fast push the minion waves whenever the enemy recalled, roamed or died, so that you can deny them gold and experience while they're not there to collect it since the tower would be killing the minions without your them being there to last hit and soak the exp.

You also want to fast push if you yourself want to roam, ward or recall so you'd have ample time to come back to your lane without losing too many minions due to your tower killing them while you were away.

So you'd want to fast push when either you or your opponent laner is leaving the lane.

You can also use a fast push to break an enemy’s freeze by crashing your minions waves into their tower, preventing them from maintaining your wave’s 4 minion advantage needed to maintain a freeze.

Freezing occurs when you manipulate the minion wave to stay just outside the perimeter of your tower and maintain it there.

To execute a freeze, make sure that the enemy’s wave has 4 more minions than yours and only last hit the minions, do not mindlessly attack them.

When the wave is too big(i.e. Enemy wave has 5 or more extra minions) you can thin out the wave by killing the surplus minions.

For champions without killing or zoning pressure on you, especially without strong waveclear, freezing is superbly advantageous as they will be struggling to break your freeze, putting them in a dangerous position where they’ll be vulnerable to ganks, while putting you in a safe position that’s hard to gank.

As they attempt to last hit minions, you are protected by your tower and are free to harass and contest their CS.

You can maintain the freeze by always having the enemy's wave have 4 minions more than yours.

If you fail to maintain a freeze by having 4 extra enemy minions, this will turn your wave into a slow push, in which you can reset the wave by shoving it or slow pushing depending on the situation.

Kiting, or orb walking, is a very important mechanic in the game that everyone should learn.

Controlling your champion's movement between attacks is one of the most important mechanical skills you can develop as a player.

You can literally change the outcome of fights, especially when pacing your movement to dodge or block crowd control with your passive Goes Where He Pleases.

It is not an ADC exclusive mechanic; even juggernauts, bruisers, and pure tanks benefit massively from kiting.

Learning to kite can increase your overall damage output and help you survive much longer in teamfights. Standing completely still while auto-attacking makes you a sitting duck for enemy skillshots and armor-shredding carries.

This is incredibly important for Dr. Mundo. Since you lack hard crowd control, you rely entirely on slowing enemies with Infected Bonesaw and beating them down with Heart Zapper and Blunt Force Trauma. Mastering kiting allows you to perfectly match their movement, stick to your targets, and body-block for your carries without losing a single point of DPS.

Sticking to Targets

How to Kite

Let’s first start with our settings. Check your options and see if you have any attack move or attack move click controls enabled. By default, it should be set to "A" for your attack move and "Shift + Right Click" for attack move click. You can bind it to whatever feels comfortable and quick; many players prefer mapping it to Left Click or a side mouse button.

Auto-attacks act similarly to abilities, meaning they have a brief wind-up animation (cast time) and a recovery period (cooldown).

With kiting, you want to issue a movement command immediately after your auto-attack damage registers. You are essentially traveling while your basic attack swing is on its brief internal cooldown.

Practice using attack move or attack move click to avoid accidentally clicking the ground and walking directly into the enemy team instead of hitting them.

Here are a few quick exercises you can run through in the practice tool or browser before a game to enhance your cursor precision.

LoL Dodge Game
Triangle Exercise

Level 1-3

Level 1 you always want to start with Q Infected Bonesaw. Use it to safely farm minions from a distance or poke the enemy laner if they try to play too aggressively.

Unlike other juggernauts, you are relatively weak in the very early levels. Do not force heavy fights. Instead, use your Q to secure last hits and look for a clean cheater recall window if you can manage to safely thin the opposing waves.

These levels are all about managing your health costs and playing around your passive Goes Where He Pleases. If the enemy attempts to locking you down with hard crowd control, your passive will drop a chemical canister. Make sure to step on that canister whenever it is safe to do so, as retrieving it restores a massive chunk of your current health and reduces the passive's internal cooldown.

By your first or second back, your primary goal is to secure a Bami's Cinder or component items like Winged Moonplate/ Ruby Crystal, after which your waveclear becomes fast enough to start proxying if needed.

Proxying behind the enemy turret is a fantastic tool for Mundo when dealing with oppressive, high-kill-pressure lane counters. It allows you to freely scale your massive health bar and secure perfect farm without ever having to trade directly with a lane bully.

By around 3:30, the Honeyfruit spawns in the river. This plant is a massive goldmine for Mundo. Since your abilities cost health rather than mana, grabbing these fruits allows you to completely bypass your health gates and stay in lane infinitely to keep soaking experience and gold.

Level 4-9

Levels 4 to 5 are where you should look to freeze the minion wave right outside your tower perimeter. This keeps you safe from early jungle ganks while leaving your lane opponent completely overextended and vulnerable to your own jungler's rotation.

However, you must know when to actively break the freeze and shove for priority:
1.) When your opponent steps away and you want to use your E Blunt Force Trauma passive AD to chunk tower plates.
2.) When you spot your jungler contesting the river Scuttle Crab and they need your meat-shield presence.
3.) When you are dangerously low on health and need to base.

Always track the map objectives. You want to begin establishing lane priority roughly 30 to 40 seconds before major neutral objectives spawn.

Once the first Dragon or Void Grubs come alive, you can create immense map pressure by hard-shoving your waves. This forces the enemy top laner to stay and defend their turret or sacrifice massive tower plate gold to your Demolish procs if they choose to roam.

If you decide to group with your team for a river fight, always check your ultimate cool down. Make sure you hit Level 6 and have Maximum Dosage ready to go before fully committing to a teamfight. Without your ultimate's massive health regeneration and bonus movement speed, you cannot tank extended teamfight focus.

If the battle looks completely unsalvageable or your ultimate is down, don't be afraid to give up the first Dragon. Simply ping your team back, stay top, and focus on maximizing your gold and experience scaling.

If you choose to stay in lane while the map plays out, maintain a steady freeze. While Mundo doesn't have hard crowd control to lock enemies down, the decaying slow from consecutive Infected Bonesaw hits makes your gank assistance surprisingly potent when paired with a high-damage jungler.

Once you hit level 9 and max out your Q, your single-target damage and poke potential skyrocket. Clearing waves with E Blunt Force Trauma and Bami's Cinder becomes effortless, turning you into a massive mid-game threat.

Level 9-14

During this time of the game, towers should start falling now. Whether that is your enemy's or your own, tier 1 towers should be gone by now, further opening the map up for you to maneuver.

Always remember to keep your farm up and always look to squeeze out CS or secure jungle camps. Never stand idle while the game is going on; there is always something to do. As a massive scaling juggernaut, do not force a coinflip fight if there are no major objectives on the map—just focus on splitting safely and absorbing resources.

You can also work together with your teammates and look for ambushes, picks, and plays around bushes, the enemy jungle, and fog of war vision. Catching someone with a well-placed Infected Bonesaw slow can easily start a favorable skirmish.

Do not forget to place down wards as much as possible and buy control wards. Try not to let 2 stealth wards sit in your inventory at the same time unless you are saving them to blanket an area right as Baron or a crucial Dragon is spawning.

Level 15-18
You want to maintain what you were doing in the mid game, but be even more cautious. Making mistakes on a late-game juggernaut like Mundo is incredibly punishing due to long death timers; if you get caught out, your team loses their primary frontline asset, and the enemy can easily secure game-ending objectives.

Warding and having vision control is much more important in the late game. Having knowledge of enemy positioning can literally change the tide of the game. Popping your ultimate Maximum Dosage and charging from a dark bush can completely catch the enemy team off guard and decide the victors.

You also want to pay extra attention to the enemy's cooldowns during this part of the game. We want to exploit every window of vulnerability to close the game out—especially high-impact crowd control abilities that might otherwise threaten to pop your passive Goes Where He Pleases.

Flash is an easy starting point if you haven't gotten used to tracking the enemy's cooldowns in your games yet. It is on a 5 minute cooldown without the Cosmic Insight rune.

Blue Side Starting Wards
Try doing a deep ward through enemy's krugs camp and placing a ward through there toward the red buff bush to see which side the enemy jungler started on. If it's too risky due to the high possibility of enemy jungler starting red, having strong level 1 like Lee Sin, or if you see them invading your topside, then better do a defensive ward on your junglers blue buff instead. A defensive ward is also suggested if against an invading jungler such as Kindred.
Red Side Starting Wards

You want to do a similar thing too when starting red side, but with this side you are less likely to do an offensive starting ward, as you don't have the krug camp ward trick in this side of the map. Again, watch out for invades and strong level 1 champions, and do a defensive ward if the threat is too high.

Control Ward Placements
Place control wards in areas in which it would survive the longest, or would spot a flank from an invis champion like Twitch and Evelynn. As Dr. Mundo, securing your flanks is extra helpful to make sure you can position yourself ahead of teamfights to soak up heavy skillshots. Look to replace it if there is an important objective coming up, such as in choke points and fog of war pockets.

Blue Side Offensive Wards

You want to place wards around these areas if you're: ahead, taken the enemy tower, even but with lane prio.
Blue Side Defensive Wards
Place wards around these areas if you're: behind, lost tower, even but with no lane prio, or if the enemies have strong ambush champions that sit around in bushes such as AD Sion, Gangplank and Rengar.

Red Side Offensive Wards

You want to place wards around these areas if you're: ahead, taken the enemy tower, even but with lane prio.
Red Side Defensive Wards
Place wards around these areas if you're: behind, lost tower, even but with no lane prio, or if the enemies have strong ambush champions that sit around in bushes such as AD Sion, Gangplank and Rengar.

Faelights

Faelights are a new addition to the game giving a massive vision steroid buff to both your regular wards and control wards. Place your wards on designated Faelight bushes and watch as your ward gives vision beyond its normal AoE.

Dr. Mundo takes on a massive frontline juggernaut role in a teamfight, dealing an absurd amount of damage even while building pure defense due to his massive health-to-AD scaling and ability synergies. You are an absolute nightmare for heavy target-damage comps. Dr. Mundo's key strength in teamfights is popping his ultimate Maximum Dosage to run down the enemy backline, forcing them to waste crucial abilities trying to stop you while your passive Goes Where He Pleases shrugs off their initial crowd control.

But Dr. Mundo isn’t limited to just mindlessly running forward; he can also act as an unkillable meat shield for his fed carries if the enemy has a big dive threat, body-blocking incoming skillshots like Ezreal Qs or assassin gap-closers to keep your team's damage dealers alive.

Early teamfights are often chaotic small skirmishes. You need to keep in mind that these fights begin even without having the entire team on the same page, regardless of who wants to fight or not, since this is solo queue.

You need to consider a few things first before deciding to join a fight, such as how far you are from the fight, your current scaling impact, how fast you’ll respond and arrive to the fight, the pathing towards the skirmish, and who’s currently stronger.

Before a fight even begins, you should consider all the possibilities and variables in a fight.

Once in a teamfight, your main goal is to get on top of the highest-priority targets, cleave them down with Infected Bonesaw slows, soak up their primary burst damage with Heart Zapper, and cause pure disruption so your allies can safely dish out their own abilities.

Later on, when everyone starts to get a few item components, a numbers advantage becomes even greater, meaning that once a team is fighting with 1 player less in a teamfight, they will most likely lose if they’re not gigafed.

Mid game team fights are more coordinated; both teams will be focusing on fighting and contesting major map objectives.

Make sure to place wards and provide vision for your team.

Do not tunnel vision to run straight past 5 people at once, as you need to take your team’s positioning into consideration—you need them close enough to follow up on the space you are creating. Diving too deep too early will just get you isolated and bursted down before your health regen kicks in.

You also need to assess the enemy team’s threats, and be ready to alternate between soaking pressure or pacing back to protect your ADC and other squishy carries.

Again, in a teamfight your main goal is to get on top of as many enemies as possible, chunk them down with your high-damage auto-attack resets via Blunt Force Trauma, soak up key focus fire, and stand on the frontlines so your team can clean up behind you.

Late game team fights are much riskier but more rewarding.

In this state of the game, everyone deals an extreme amount of damage. Deaths and losing fights are punished way more harshly, while getting kills and winning fights are rewarded more greatly with game-ending pushes.

As such, there is a lot of weight on your shoulders as a scaling juggernaut and split-pusher, because people will sing songs of praises for you if you can pop Maximum Dosage, soak 10,000 damage, and layout the enemy backline to win the game, but they'll curse you if you run in at a bad time and get melted instantly.

So I suggest playing it slowly and not moving hastily.

Be patient and look for secure, clear angles to activate your ultimate and chase down high-value targets when the enemy's anti-tank abilities or armor pen assets are occupied.

Play around objective timers, and don’t just mindlessly start a coinflip teamfight with not much to gain.

When the enemy team has an assassin and your team lacks alternative defensive peel, look to use your giant hitbox to intercept skillshots and stand right on top of your carries.

Prioritize shielding your team with your health bar in the late game rather than chasing deep if you are the only solid frontline asset your carries have to play behind.

Objectives are high priority targets in the game that give you advantages in the form of gold, exp, vision, buffs, map control, and sieging power

Securing these are usually much more important than the number of kills you get in a game, as teamfights and the general flow of the game revolve around contesting, trading, or fighting for these objectives.

When contesting objectives, you have to think about and consider various factors on the preparation and on the actual fighting. You have to ask yourself which of the teams is stronger in a teamfight/skirmish? Which team is stronger as of the moment? Who’ll be stronger later on? Should we contest this objective? Is it an even fight? Numbers advantage, or disadvantage? All of these and more, are deciding factors as to who wins and loses, and while you might not be able to think about all of these in the spur of the moment in your games, you should regularly practice it so that it becomes a habit so that it becomes second nature and you can very quickly decide whether it’s worth fighting or not.

Whenever your team wins in a teamfight, killed 3 or more enemies at the same time and are healthy enough or wiped the entire enemy team, look to take as many resources and objectives as possible.

Jungle Camps
Counter-jungle as much as you can by the mid-game if possible, such as when the enemy jungler/top or both are dead, you're super ahead, or if your jungler is looking to invade. This not only gives you or your jungler additional farm, but also denies the enemy jungler precious resources.

Dr. Mundo can clear camps incredibly fast once you have Bami's Cinder or a few points into your E Blunt Force Trauma, so look to clear enemy topside camps once you have fully shoved the minion wave up to their tier 2 tower. Beware that doing this is a lot riskier if you’re behind, but nevertheless still possible if you can sense when and where they’ll collapse on you (if at all).

Take an Oracle Lens to clear wards to make sure they don’t see you taking camps, or do deep wards in the enemy jungle if you have regular wards.

You can also take your jungler’s blue buff if neither your jungler nor mid laner needs it. While Mundo doesn't use mana, he benefits exceptionally well from the massive amount of Cooldown Reduction (Ability Haste) the buff grants.

When you or your team killed 3 or more of the enemy at the same time, or emerged victorious in a teamfight and there are no other major objectives to take, look to shove all the waves then decide to either counter-jungle or take towers depending on your team’s tower-taking speed and the enemy’s respawn timers.

Rift Scuttler
Rift Scuttler is a very important objective early on. As a top laner, you should look to help your jungler contest and secure scuttle at around 3:30 if both junglers are pathing topside and will end up in a fight over it.

Look to set up a slow push if you can, forcing the enemy top laner to choose between helping contest scuttle and losing a ton of minions, or staying in lane and giving your team the numbers advantage.

If either one or both of the junglers are pathing bot, then there is no need to over-contest scuttle; simply look for a safe cheater recall window instead.

This objective not only helps your jungler gain gold and exp, but it also gives vision(!!!) and a small AoE movement speed buff which benefits Mundo's lack of natural gap closers.

Later on in the game, if your jungler isn’t taking the scuttle crab, take it yourself. It serves as additional vision for your entire team, which becomes all the more impactful the later the game goes on.

Towers
Dr. Mundo is an absolute wrecking ball against towers. This is one of the greatest mechanical assets he can provide for his team due to the bonus AD scaling on his E Blunt Force Trauma.

Take towers whenever you can to help open up the map for your team, allowing for better counter-jungling, deeper minion wave crashes, and massive split pressure. However, it is generally a good rule to not destroy the last inhibitor tower before 20 minutes to ensure super minions won't spawn (those give 60-90 gold per last hit), preventing the enemy from farming them safely and pulling a comeback. You can instead chunk the inhibitor tower down without killing it, leaving the structure intact.

Tower plates - All outer towers have tower plates, with the only exception being the inner base structures. This makes split pushing yield massive item breakpoints much earlier than in previous seasons.

Crystalline overgrowth on towers - This feature builds up on towers over time and gets consumed on hit, dealing a burst of damage to the structure like a built-in demolish. These features give heavy health-stacking split-pushers an incredible amount of extra power, and Mundo is no exception (especially when paired with Demolish).

Inhibitors
Destroy this structure to make super minions spawn, which provides automatic pushing pressure to an enemy's lane without you needing to be physically present.

Try not to take inhibitors down super early if you cannot immediately end the game or safely secure Baron to close it out. If the enemies have strong wave-clearing champions, they can safely harvest the super minions for bonus gold, allowing them to scale up and potentially make a comeback.

Dragon
Dragon is usually going to be the primary neutral objective that both teams fight and contest over. Fights for early Rift Scuttler happen far less due to map changes splitting early river scuttles into minor contested camps.

Dragons grant a permanent stacking elemental buff to you and your team. Securing 4 dragons rewards you with the Dragon Soul, which introduces a game-defining permanent buff that drastically alters teamfight dynamics.

Voidgrubs
The ultimate tower buster buff.

This is an incredible early objective for high-AD juggernauts like Dr. Mundo.

Securing this objective permanently increases your sidelane structures damage output, synergizing flawlessly with Mundo's identity as an unstoppable, high-health split-pushing monster who melts turrets in seconds.

Taking Voidgrubs allows you to quickly pile up structural advantages, ensuring that any time your lane opponent leaves you alone for a roam, you can strip multiple plates or turrets instantly with your auto-attacks.

Rift Herald
Rift Herald is an exceptionally potent sieging objective.

Once your team secures the Herald, it should ideally be deployed in a lane that benefits most from opening up map terrain, enabling easier mid-game map rotations for your carries.

If you possess strong personal tower-taking power through your E active, you can prioritize giving the eye to roaming allies, though Mundo can still use it effectively to blow open an entire side of the map.

Holding the Eye of the Herald grants an empowered recall that cuts down your base timing significantly, allowing you to sustain aggressive map pressuring. If deploying the Herald to break plates, look to drop it when a tower sits at roughly 2 and 1/4 plates to guarantee the charge completely obliterates the tower and preserves the Herald's health to charge the next structure.

Dragon Trim Soul
Provides a massive, game-altering permanent blessing to your entire team after successfully stacking 4 elemental dragons.

The bonuses provided are substantially stronger than standard drake marks. Depending on which soul spawns, it can grant incredible health regeneration, shields, bonus movement speed, or explosive damage outputs that heavily augment Mundo's frontline staying power.

Elder Dragon
The absolute ultimate teamfight decider.

Force absolute all-in teamfights immediately once you have secured this buff. The massive combat advantage it yields grants your team a true damage burn alongside a 20% maximum HP execution threshold, allowing Mundo to simply walk through the opposition and execute targets instantly.

Baron Nashor
The ultimate structural siege buff.

Securing Baron Nashor equips your entire team with massive gold inflows, bonus AD/AP, empowered recalls, and heavily aura-buffs nearby lane minions.

The enhanced minion resistances are custom-tailored to cracking open inhibitors and late-game turtle strategies. Group up with your carries and play directly on the frontlines to draw tower aggro while your buffed minions destroy the enemy base.

Nexus
This is your end goal.

Destroy this and win the game.

K/D/A doesn't matter if you're not closing out games and ending, resulting in -24LP.

If you're playing to win, play to take objectives, with the Nexus being the highest objective of them all.

Attack Damage Carries

Hyper-carries who can dish out damage while Dr. Mundo draws focus fire and walks through the frontline

Dr. Mundo works exceptionally well with high-DPS ADCs, especially those who can freely lay out damage while Mundo charges into the enemy team with Maximum Dosage, absorbing every major cooldown and forcing the enemy backline to retreat.

Because Mundo does not possess hard crowd control like stuns or airborne effects, your synergy relies on your massive meat-shield presence and consistent slows from Infected Bonesaw to lock targets down for your carries to shred.

Mundo peels through sheer intimidation and body-blocking. Walking in front of your squishy carries to block high-impact skillshots and chunking diving assassins with an E-empowered Blunt Force Trauma auto-attack reset is your primary method of keeping your backline secure.

Crowd Control Engagers

Lockdown champions who fix Dr. Mundo's lack of hard CC and lack of strong peeling

Dr. Mundo has phenomenal natural synergy with heavy-engage tanks and hard CC support setups. Since you lack an innate hard engage mechanism, having a teammate trigger the initial fight lets you follow up smoothly and start tearing through the opposition.

When playing alongside a primary hard-CC tank, Mundo can freely act as a secondary frontline threat. This opens up room to lean heavier into health-stacking offensive options like Titanic Hydra or Heartsteel, maximizing your scaling damage output since you aren't the solo asset responsible for holding the line.

Let's talk positioning: In hard-CC compositions, Mundo should wait for the initial crowd control chain to land before popping his ultimate and racing into the fray.

Having a teammate lock down slippery targets is a massive blessing for Mundo. Because Infected Bonesaw is a skillshot that can be body-blocked or dodged, running down a target that has already been locked in place by a Leona solar flare or a Malphite knock-up guarantees you land your entire burst kit.

When the enemy team is forced into a stationary clump by a massive AoE engage, it creates the perfect setup for your Heart Zapper pop and allows you to easily chain auto-attack resets across multiple priority targets.

Enchanters and Mages

Champions who augment Dr. Mundo's raid-boss status with speed boosts, shields, and massive healing multipliers

Enchanters transform Dr. Mundo from a standard frontline juggernaut into a completely unkillable, high-speed raid boss.

The combination of raw bonus movement speed, continuous shielding, and healing amplification directly scales your existing defensive profile to an extreme degree.

An ally like Lulu using her ultimate Wild Growth on an active Maximum Dosage Mundo gives you an astronomical health pool, while a Karma or Zilean speed injection completely eliminates your weakness of getting kited out in teamfights.

However, you must always maintain awareness of the enemy backline diving assets. Because your enchanters are incredibly fragile, running too deep into the enemy territory can leave your backline open to an assassin flank. Keep an eye on your squishy utility allies and be ready to backstep and tank damage for them if a threat breaches the frontline.

Aatrox the Darkin Blade
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps/ Boots of Swiftness, Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Sweet-spot Q1/Q2, E-Q3, W-Pull into Q3
This is a heavily favored skill-check matchup that leans strictly toward Aatrox if you do not respect his spacing.

You must build pure, heavy tank armor and HP metrics against Aatrox to survive his mid-game spikes.

Taking Teleport and Flash (or Ghost to dodge his skillshots) is highly recommended for survival and map presence.

You are almost never going to solo kill a competent Aatrox during the early laning phase. His resource-free kit grants him superior sustain and continuous extended dueling power.

Aatrox thrives heavily on chunking static targets, meaning Mundo's massive hitbox makes it very easy for him to land sweet-spot Qs if you misposition.

Aatrox commands great lane sustain via his passive Deathbringer Stance and healing amplifiers from World Ender. This allows him to effortlessly brush off short, casual trading sequences.

Aatrox’s pulling tool Infernal Chains can be body-blocked by your minion wave. Always stand directly behind your minions when it is off cooldown to prevent easy engage setups.

When trading against Aatrox, look to bait out his Q1 and Q2. When his Q goes on cooldown, you have a solid 4-second window of opportunity to walk up and look for a Grasp of the Undying proc.

Be extremely careful with your passive Goes Where He Pleases. If his sweet-spot Q pops your canister, he can easily drop Infernal Chains right where the canister lands to force a massive, lethal trade.

I highly recommend maximizing your Infected Bonesaw first. This allows you to safely farm from a long distance and continuously poke him down without getting locked into his melee sweet-spot ranges.

Do not attempt to trade with raw auto-attacks early on. Maxing your Q lets you match his waveclear safely while scaling your health pool safely into the mid-game.

Max your E Blunt Force Trauma second to increase your farming power and provide strong physical damage returns once you have built up structural health components.

Aatrox’s core item rushes—such as Eclipse and Black Cleaver—are specifically designed to shred high-health targets, making armor rush mandatory.

Rush your Plated Steelcaps immediately on your first base to grant the movement speed needed to out-pace his Q placements, then follow up with an early Bramble Vest to severely cut his passive healing.

Try to freeze the minion wave right outside your tower range. Mundo has decent gank setup via the heavy slows on Infected Bonesaw, making a overextended Aatrox an easy target for a roaming mid laner or jungler.

During late-game scenarios, Aatrox will look to match your split pressure. While you can out-clear the waves rapidly with Sunfire Aegis, avoid opt-in duels as his armor penetration assets will allow him to out-sustain you in true 1v1 fights.

Focus your efforts on macro rotations. Use your wave priority to collapse on major objectives or group with your enchanters to absorb his initial frontline ultimate activation during teamfights.

Akali, the Rogue Assassin
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Kaenic Rookern, Force of Nature, Spirit Visage
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Tip of Q (applies a slow), Q-AA, E1-E2, Shroud setups
This is an incredibly easy, low-stress matchup for Dr. Mundo.

You mostly want to sit back, throw cleavers to secure farm in the first few levels, and play passively before you secure some initial magic resistance. She has slight kill pressure if she runs Ignite, but she completely drops off once you buy items.

Her Q Five Point Strike poke can sting early on, which is why starting Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is necessary to effortlessly regenerate through her early energy pools.

Be careful of her passive Assassin's Mark empowered auto-attacks. If she clips you with the tip of her Q, simply walk backwards to prevent her from tracking you down for the enhanced swing.

One of your best windows of opportunity to trade aggressively or clear waves heavily is when her Twilight Shroud is down or when she burns through her energy reserves.

Mundo's AoE tools from Heart Zapper and the physical wave-shove from Blunt Force Trauma allow you to constantly pressure her tower when her shroud is on its long cooldown.

We take Grasp of the Undying and build pure tank because Mundo can simply stat-check Akali out of the lane. Once you have a single magic resistance item, her flat assassin damage ratios cannot pierce your base health pool.

Look to buy a Negatron Cloak or Bami's Cinder on your first back. This provides an immense layer of defensive cushion or matches her waveclear if she attempts to clear and roam.

Build toward Hollow Radiance as your first completed item. It offers the perfect baseline mix of magic resistance, health, and waveclear passives to force her under tower. Spirit Visage is also another amazing alternative for stronger healing, and should be preferred if your team has 1 or 2 healing/shielding champions.

Combining Hollow Radiance with a subsequent Kaenic Rookern turns Mundo into an impenetrable brick wall, making it impossible for her to ever chunk you into execution range.

Later in the game, she will quickly realize she cannot match you in the sidelane and will look to roam and dive your backline carries. Always use your wave priority to keep her stuck defending towers.

Akali is an incredibly poor split-pusher. Sidelaning against her in the mid-to-late game is completely free, as you can ignore her damage entirely while using your E to melt her structures down.

In teamfights, stay close to your enchanters or carries. Since you lack hard crowd control to stop her mid-air dashes, position your massive model directly in her path to intercept her skillshots and peel her off your team through sheer body-blocking and constant Infected Bonesaw slows.

Akshan, the Rogue Sentinel
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Randuin's Omen, Thornmail, Iceborn Gauntlet
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Double-tap AA passive, Q-AA poke, E reset mechanics
This lane is incredibly tedious and difficult in the early game, especially before you start to stack solid armor pieces to mitigate his physical harassment.

Starting with Doran's Shield paired with Second Wind is absolutely mandatory to absorb his ranged attack patterns.

Akshan operates as a highly oppressive ranged lane bully who will constantly try to deny you from walking up to the minion wave.

He commands high safety via his E Heroic Swing, which acts as both an aggressive chasing tool and a quick escape route, making it harder for your jungler to shut him down.

There is a notable window of vulnerability for Akshan when his Heroic Swing is on cooldown, giving you a chance to step up and contest the wave if your health pool is stable.

Use the heavy slow from your Q Infected Bonesaw to completely kill his momentum; without his swing available, his base movement speeds make him very easy to track down.

You need to play with extreme discipline early on. Do not give up solo deaths to prevent him from triggering his snowball assets and roaming out of control.

One essential interaction to exploit is that his Heroic Swing immediately detaches and cancels if his model physically collides with an enemy champion. You can intentionally step into his flight path to block his escape.

Once you secure level 6 and pick up initial armor components, you can aggressively turn on him using Maximum Dosage. If he isn't actively fed, he won't have the structural armor penetration to match your raw combat stats during an all-in ult activation.

You can easily block the projectiles of his ultimate Comeuppance by positioning behind active minion waves, allied champions, or standing directly behind a healthy outer tower.

Buy control wards frequently and place them in the river pixel brush. This reveals his tracking route when he drops into camo with his W Going Rogue, allowing you to warn your mid lane via missing pings.

If the lane pressure becomes completely unbearable, look for a proxy window behind his tower. Otherwise, be perfectly content sacrificing minor CS milestones to preserve your health and absorb wave experience safely under tower.

Dr. Mundo brings immense frontline disruption value to mid-game teamfights compared to Akshan. Look to transition your lane farm into team grouping opportunities when major neutral objectives spawn.

In fights, focus heavily on body-blocking Akshan. Prevent him from diving on low-health allies to cash in on his Scoundrel mechanic, shielding your team from his resurrection power while slowing him into submission.

During late-game split pressure scenarios, an under-leveled Akshan cannot match you. With a robust armor profile and items like Sunfire Aegis, you can easily dive him or run him out of the side lane using your massive E auto-attack damage.

Camille, the Steel Shadow
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Thornmail, Titanic Hydra
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: AA-Q1, True Damage Q2, E1-E2 Wall Dive, Outer Edge W
This is a favorable matchup in the early game that gradually scales in difficulty the longer the match goes on.

During the laning phase, you must track her ability cooldowns closely, ensuring you space correctly and play around her key defensive assets (Passive Adaptive Defenses), structural harass (W Tactical Sweep), and mobility choices (E Hookshot).

Her passive shield Adaptive Defenses and auto-reset from Precision Protocol grant her strong short-trading tools early on, meaning you want to wait out these defensive timers.

Mundo's basic trading patterns primarily output magic damage via Infected Bonesaw and Heart Zapper. Baiting her out to trigger a physical shield first is not a primary concern for you, but you should always wait out her adaptive barrier duration before committing your heavy auto-attack trades.

Her Precision Protocol acts as an auto-attack reset, delivering a devastating second strike (Q2) that converts into true damage if she waits 1.5 seconds. When you see her prime her first Q, step back immediately and let the Q2 window expire before moving back into melee range.

In terms of tactical spacing, keep an eye on her animation when she casts W Tactical Sweep. She will desperately try to tag you with the outer cone edge to heal herself, apply a slow, and chunk you for maximum health percentages.

If you find yourself stuck inside her sweep radius and cannot walk out of range, walk directly forward toward her model instead. Getting hit by the inner portion deals minimal damage and completely denies her the heal and slow components.

Use your passive Goes Where He Pleases to completely invalidate her E Hookshot engage. When she launches off the wall to stun you, your passive will drop a canister instead; walk over it immediately to recover your health and turn the trade on her while her mobility is gone.

Post-6, be aware that her ultimate Hextech Ultimatum creates impassable zone terrain. Pop your Maximum Dosage inside her cage to absorb her incoming burst, using the massive bonus AD scaling on your E Blunt Force Trauma to hit her back hard.

Taking Grasp of the Undying is the definitive rune path here, allowing you to continually match her scaling and enhance your maximum health thresholds.

Focus heavily on stacking pure, raw health pools against her. Because the second portion of her Precision Protocol converts directly into true damage, it will completely bypass your armor stats, making high HP bars your absolute best defense.

An early Bramble Vest or Bami's Cinder into a direct Heartsteel rush provides an excellent early-game progression structure when fighting against Camille.

Early anti-healing assets are highly impactful to shut down her innate sustain from Tactical Sweep alongside the life steal values she gains from popular rush choices like Ravenous Hydra.

Once Camille secures a couple of completed core items or gains an item advantage, she will begin winning prolonged side-lane trades. Her kit excels at split-pushing and isolating targets in the mid-to-late game to compensate for her lackluster front-to-back teamfighting.

Avoid tracking her endlessly in isolated 1v1 sidelane duels later on. Use your fast waveclear from Sunfire Aegis to shove out the waves rapidly, then rotate immediately to group with your team and force major objective teamfights where your raid-boss presence brings massive frontline value compared to her.

Cho'Gath, the Terror of the Void
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Kaenic Rookern, Force of Nature, Abyssal Mask
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Rupture knockup, Feral Scream silence, Feast true damage execute
This is a heavily unfavorable matchup for Dr. Mundo due to Cho'Gath's overwhelming crowd control assets, infinite defensive scaling, and massive true damage execution window.

During the laning phase, focus your attention on dodging his active skillshots, prioritizing safe farming intervals while looking for short Grasp of the Undying auto-attack procs when he steps up to contest.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases will block his Rupture knockup, but be extremely careful. If your canister drops, he can easily silence you with Feral Scream to prevent you from resetting your ultimate or escaping.

Always run Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind to out-generate his poke tools and survive his continuous early laning attrition.

Cho'Gath boasts incredible lane sustain through his passive Carnivore, which restores flat health and mana pools for every single minion he kills. Avoid opt-in trading unless his core tools are entirely on cooldown.

Taking Teleport is highly recommended to secure smooth item bases and smoothly navigate past his early-game level spikes.

Once Cho'Gath starts stacking magic resistance items alongside structural Feast counts, solo-killing him is practically impossible unless he chose a squishier AP build path.

If you do get caught by Rupture, time your Infected Bonesaw directly as the knockup ends. He will immediately step forward into your melee zone to activate Vorpal Spikes, making the heavy slow an excellent self-peel tool.

Grasp of the Undying remains the superior keystone choice here, as the purely melee nature of the lane allows you to comfortably stack your health attributes throughout the game.

Never stand in straight alignment directly behind low-health minions. His Vorpal Spikes emit wide spikes that travel through targets, letting him poke you down without drawing minion aggro.

You can activate your ultimate Maximum Dosage defensively to gain a massive burst of movement speed, allowing you to easily dance out of his Rupture radius during tight jungle fights.

Because Cho'Gath scales primarily into a heavy AP tank threat, prioritize rushing magic resistance over armor components.

Rushing Hollow Radiance acts as your most efficient first completed purchase, offering robust magic defense stats while matching his standard wave-clear speeds.

In mid-game teamfights, Cho'Gath functions as an exceptional anti-engage peel tank. He cannot easily dive your backline without a flank, but excels heavily at locking down active frontliners.

He will look to position defensively, soaking your team's tracking crowd control and skills so his allied marksmen can freely pump out raw damage.

Never underestimate his baseline damage values. Even when building completely defensively, his abilities feature high maximum-health damage ratios that can chunk you down rapidly.

Keep a close eye on his model positioning. If he manages to walk past you to reach your squishier backline carries, his raw combo can easily delete them from the map.

If he chooses a full AP itemization structure, shift your focus. Treat him like an immobile burst mage, locking him down and melting his squishier health profile down alongside other priority targets.

Because Cho'Gath brings zero innate map-gap closers, use your massive frontline presence to lead macro pushes, letting your backline position safely outside his static spell ranges.

As the late game approaches, Cho'Gath will scale immensely into a true raid-boss titan through his infinite Feast health tracking. Combined with scaling choices like Titanic Hydra, he will deal massive physical damage alongside his AP burst.

Late-game Cho'Gath poses an immense threat to side-lane towers due to his colossal Demolish procs. His massive health pool means answering his split-push pressure will frequently require multi-man rotations from your team.

If he attempts to drag multiple people to an isolated side lane, your team risk giving up major neutral objectives across the map. You must maintain strong macro agency and make the first rotational move.

By establishing wave pressure and moving across the map first, you dictate the tempo of the game and force him to respond to your macro steps.

In the deep late-game stages, both you and Cho'Gath will mirror identical roles for your respective teams—acting as massive, unkillable front-line titans steering the flow of every teamfight.

Darius, the Hand of Noxus
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps/ Boots of Swiftness, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Thornmail, Randuin's Omen, Sterak's Gage
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Hemorrhage stacks, Outer edge Q heal, E-AA-W-Q trade, Ultimate execution chain
This is a dangerous, volatile matchup for Dr. Mundo in the early game. If you let him secure an early kill, he will aggressively snowball the lane out of control.

Start with Doran's Shield paired with Second Wind to heavily counteract his passive bleed tick and ensure you survive the early laning phases.

The matchup automatically tilts in your favor once you cross the mid-game threshold and stack a few armor components or complete your Bramble Vest.

Be incredibly mindful of your level 1 positioning. Under no circumstances should you walk past the midpoint of the lane to face-check him; a good Darius will pop Ghost immediately and run you down with raw auto-attacks.

Darius completely dominates true 1v1 melee brawls before you have substantial armor values. Respect his kill pressure and farm from range.

Exercise extreme caution when he hits his level 6 power spike, as his true damage execution values jump exponentially.

Turn around and run immediately if he manages to apply 3 to 4 stacks of Hemorrhage on you. Letting him reach 5 stacks triggers "Noxian Might," giving him massive bonus AD and causing all subsequent attacks to instantly apply maximum bleed stacks.

Your primary tool for managing this lane is Infected Bonesaw. Mundo can safely farm every single minion from across the screen, completely bypassing his Apprehend hook range while chipping his health bar down.

Focus heavily on buying pure armor and health items to shut down his flat physical damage output.

Rush a Bramble Vest or an early Plated Steelcaps to severely cut down the healing he receives from the outer edge of Decimate.

When trading, if you cannot walk out of his Decimate wheel, walk straight into his inner model. Getting hit by the handle deals heavily reduced damage and completely denies him a passive bleed stack and heal.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely blocks his Apprehend pull. If he burns his pull and pops your canister, use the brief crowd control immunity to easily walk away or trade a heavy E-empowered auto-attack before backing out.

Sterak's Gage is a phenomenal item addition later in your build. The massive lifeline shield active can be used to completely block the true damage from Noxian Guillotine, saving you from an execute and putting his ultimate on full cooldown.

In mid-to-late game teamfights, your main objective is keeping him isolated away from your backline carries. If he gets access to squishy targets, he can easily trigger an execute chain with his ultimate resets and wipe your team.

Use the constant, spammable slows from Infected Bonesaw to peel him off your allies. Since Darius completely lacks a natural gap closer, keeping him permanently slowed makes him a useless kite target.

Darius remains a dangerous side-lane duelist who can turn 1v2 situations around if he lands a multi-man Q heal. Use your fast waveclear from Sunfire Aegis to push the side waves out, then grouping with your team to force front-to-back fights where your massive late-game health pool out-values his scaling.

Fiora, the Grand Duelist
Overall difficulty: 4.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Randuin's Omen, Iceborn Gauntlet
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Vital procs, Lunge pokes, Riposte parry, Grand Challenge true damage burst
This is a premier hard counter matchup for Dr. Mundo. Her entire kit is conceptually designed to shred high-health juggernauts.

During early laning, her threat level is manageable. Her primary trading loop revolves around Lunge to pop your passive vitals. You can actually trade evenly or outright bully her for a brief window after your first back by rushing a Bramble Vest. However, once she completes her first core item, she will out-duel you for the rest of the game.

The central win condition of any trade with Fiora relies entirely on her W Riposte.

Since Mundo lacks any active hard crowd control, she cannot stun you with her parry unless your jungler ganks. However, Riposte still cripples your attack speed and movement speed by 50%. If you turn on Heart Zapper and try to hit an E-empowered auto, wait out her parry animation first so your damage and healing aren't absorbed.

Starting with Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is non-negotiable to counteract her continuous vital poke.

Her passive Duelist's Dance deals Max HP% true damage, which scales aggressively into the late game. If a vital spawns in an unfavorable direction (facing directly toward her), simply walk backward out of her vision range to reset the vital to a safer position behind you.

When she activates her ultimate Grand Challenge, she exposes 4 vitals. If she procs all of them, she will shred your entire health bar instantly regardless of your items. The moment she ulties you, immediately run and hug a nearby wall to physically block her from reaching the final vital, denying her the massive AoE healing zone.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases does not offer much value here since she has no natural crowd control to block outside of a successfully redirected parry. Treat your passive canister simply as a free health pack if she burns a stray spell.

Rushing a Bramble Vest paired with Plated Steelcaps is your highest priority. The armor reduces her raw physical output, while the Grievous Wounds cuts down the healing she receives from vitals and her passive laning tools.

The side lanes become incredibly perilous as the game goes on. Fiora is a monstrous 1v1 duelist and tower-shredder. Once she scales past level 11, you cannot contest her alone and will be forced to farm safely under tower using Infected Bonesaw.

To prevent getting completely trapped under your own structure, look for opportunities to clear waves quickly with Sunfire Aegis and look for map plays. Securing teleport advantages or assisting your team with objective control before she can setup a heavy split-push is your best macro pivot.

Teamfights are where you hold the distinct advantage. Fiora struggles heavily in coordinated, tight front-to-back 5v5 scenarios, whereas Mundo excels as a massive frontline disruption tank. Shove out your side waves, group with your team, and force teamfights where your raid-boss team utility completely out-values her isolated dueling profile.

Gangplank, the Saltwater Scourge
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps/ Boots of Swiftness, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Randuin's Omen, Thornmail, Iceborn Gauntlet
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Parrrley Q poke, Powder Keg barrel chains, Trial by Fire true damage resets
This is a classic lane attrition and poke matchup. Your goal is to shrug off his early gold-generating harass while building into an unkillable mid-game tank threat.

Running Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is entirely mandatory to nullify his continuous ranged Parrrley spam.

Truly elite Gangplank players who confidently walk up to aggressively use their true-damage passive Trial By Fire are exceptionally rare. Because he primarily items into squishy critical-strike or armor-penetration damage paths, he lacks the raw defensive baseline to freely trade auto-attacks with a juggernaut.

Throughout the early laning phase, he will look to safely chip your health pool down with Parrrley and basic barrel links. His baseline early damage stings without proper health regeneration, but he is a heavy scaling champion who needs completed items to pose a lethal threat.

You can easily match his early wave pressure. Use Infected Bonesaw to safely secure contested minions from afar, or throw a cleaver directly at his model to chunk his glass-cannon health bar and discourage him from stepping forward to setup barrel mechanics.

Be incredibly mindful around un-warded lane brushes. Gangplank will consistently hide pre-placed barrels out of your direct line of sight to execute sudden, unexpected fog-of-war chain detonations.

Because his Powder Keg explosions completely ignore 40% of his target's total armor, raw health stacking is your absolute best defense. Unlike other anti-tank counters, he lacks innate max-HP percentage scaling in his basic kit, making your massive health growth thresholds highly effective against him.

You can actively timing your basic attacks to defuse and cash in on his barrels. If you are standing within close melee range of a ticking barrel, watch the health indicator carefully to steal the last-hit right as it drops to 1 HP, completely wasting his zone setup.

Be mindful that experienced players will try to bait you by executing a quick auto-attack or a fast Parrrley right as the barrel hits 2 HP to trigger an instant detonation before you can physically respond.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases provides a huge structural advantage during standard trading loops. Since your crowd control immunity completely ignores the massive slow from his barrel explosions, you can effortlessly run straight through his detonation zone to punish him with a heavy E auto-attack.

Furthermore, his defensive tool Remove Scurvy only cleanses crowd control effects and heals flat amounts. Because Dr. Mundo relies strictly on spammable, heavy slows rather than hard stuns or knockups, his orange peel asset is heavily devalued in this matchup.

Once you reach level 6 and complete initial defensive core components like Bami's Cinder, you command high kill pressure. Pop Maximum Dosage to gain an enormous burst of attack damage and movement speed, ignoring his zone control tools to chase him directly down the lane.

While you boast superior front-line map skirmishing strength in early objective fights, keep a close eye on cross-map skirmishes. His global ultimate Cannon Barrage allows him to effortlessly impact bottom-lane fights without burning his Teleport.

In mid-game teamfights, watch his barrel links closely. Your primary job as a front-line raid boss is to purposefully body-block his paths or use your massive model size to absorb his zoning tools before they can reach your squishy backline marksmen.

During late-game split pressure scenarios, his squishy defensive profile means he cannot safely match your raw side-lane pressure. Shove waves out aggressively with Sunfire Aegis, then use your immense rotational speed to group and force front-to-back fights where your unkillable frontline utility completely eclipses his static placement options.

Garen, the Might of Demacia
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Boots of Swiftness/ Plated Steelcaps, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Randuin's Omen, Thornmail, Sterak's Gage
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Decisive Strike silence, Courage damage reduction, Judgment armor shred, Demacian Justice true damage execute
This is a heavily lane-dominant matchup for Dr. Mundo. While you will struggle to outright execute him due to his slippery defensive kit, he will similarly struggle to dent your massive health scaling.

His mobility loop relies entirely on Decisive Strike to cleanse incoming slows. Because Dr. Mundo relies strictly on spammable, continuous slows via Infected Bonesaw, his single cleanse window is heavily devalued. If he activates Q to run at you, simply throw a cleaver after his speed boost begins to re-apply your heavy slow.

Be mindful that Garen still possesses structural kill pressure at level 6. His Judgment spin shreds 25% of your total armor if you are ticked 6 times by it, making your baseline bulk highly vulnerable to his true damage ultimate Demacian Justice.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases gives you a structural laning advantage against his primary trade patterns. His Decisive Strike silence is classified as a crowd-control displacement asset; your passive will completely block the silence, allowing you to instantly turn on Heart Zapper and trade back an E-empowered auto-attack without being locked out of your spells.

Keep a close eye on his active cast of W Courage. It grants him a massive 65% damage reduction shield and bonus tenacity for the first 4 seconds. When you see him flash a golden shield aura, immediately back off and stop trading until the buff completely expires.

Rushing Boots of Swiftness is highly recommended. The flat movement speed and slow resistance structure help you match his slippery laning paths and neutral macro rotations.

Levels 1 to 5 represent your premier window of absolute dominance. Garen lacks the early items or baseline health regeneration to comfortably survive your constant Infected Bonesaw poke. Bully him aggressively to delay his item completion windows.

To shut down his passive out-of-combat healing Perseverance, regularly land a stray cleaver or step forward to land a basic attack. Keeping him in active combat blocks his health regeneration, forcing him to concede minion waves.

Once Garen completes Stridebreaker and Dead Man's Plate, he will avoid matching you in direct brawls, opting instead to vacuum side-lane waves and zip across the map for unexpected flanks.

Do not chase him endlessly when he chooses to proxy or sprint across lanes. Use your superior wave-clear speeds from Sunfire Aegis to match his map pressure, then rotate to lead your team into objective zones where your colossal front-line raid-boss presence out-values his localized disruption patterns.

Gnar, the Missing Link
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen, Thornmail
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Hyper 3-hit max HP% magic damage, Hop/Bounce mobility, Mega Gnar wall-stun chain
This is a dual-threat poke and kiting matchup in the early laning phase.

Gnar acts as a slippery, ranged marksman in Mini form but periodically transforms into a colossal, crowd-control-heavy bruiser via his passive Rage Gene.

Your primary laning rule is to carefully track his rage bar. Always back off out of his engage radius when his rage hits 90+ or when he begins flashing red to transform into Mega Gnar.

Taking a complete anti-poke setup is absolutely essential. In the early game, Mini Gnar will relentlessly try to whittle your health pool down with Boomerang Throw, ranged auto-attacks, and the 3-hit max HP% magic damage procs from Hyper.

Exercise extreme caution if he hits 100 rage while his E Hop is available. He can use a minion to double-bounce directly onto your model, canceling his regular casting animations to buffer an immediate Mega Gnar wall-slam combo.

The same threat applies to mid-game teamfights. Gnar excels at hiding his rage tracking, jumping forward as a tiny target right before unleashing a massive, fight-winning AoE crowd-control chain on your grouped team using his ultimate GNAR!.

Mini Gnar's primary escape tool Hop has an incredibly long cooldown early on. The instant he mispositions or burns his jump defensively, you have a massive window of opportunity to throw a slowing Infected Bonesaw, step up to trade, or ping your jungler for a free gank.

A pure tank setup is highly preferred for Mundo to survive the lane. Run Grasp of the Undying combined with Doran's Shield and Second Wind to out-regenerate his ranged attrition loop.

Because Gnar relies heavily on physical auto-attacks to build his rage profile, early armor components are massive. Rushing Plated Steelcaps paired with a Warden's Mail or Frozen Heart reduces his ranged auto-attack damage to a complete afterthought, completely neutralizing his lane priority.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases acts as an incredible safety net against Mega Gnar. When he attempts to stun you with Wallop or throw you into terrain with his ultimate, your passive will completely drop the crowd control and leave behind a canister. Pop Maximum Dosage instantly, step on your canister to heal, and run him down while his heavy tools are entirely spent.

As the game reaches the deep late-game stages, the matchup shifts heavily into Dr. Mundo's favor. You scale into an unstoppable, un-kiteable juggernaut, though you should remain cautious if he purchases a Black Cleaver to strip away your armor metrics.

Sidelaning against him later on is exceptionally low-stress. While his 1v1 split-pushing potential is decent, he lacks the flat burst thresholds to pierce your enormous health regeneration pools, allowing you to easily shrug off his split pressure.

If you find yourself struggling heavily against his early-game harassment, feel free to put 3 early skill points into Heart Zapper. The additional flat gray-health damage storage provides an exceptional layer of protective cushion to absorb his 3-hit Hyper burst until you secure your first completed armor item.

Gragas, the Rabble Rouser
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Kaenic Rookern, Spirit Visage, Abyssal Mask
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Barrel Roll Q poke, Body Slam E displacement, Explosive Cask R separation ("BOMBA")
“BOMBA!”

A skilled Gragas player represents a tricky, highly interactive matchup, particularly those who masterfully time their displacement strings to disrupt your pacing.

The laning phase is usually a low-casualty war of attrition. Outright executing him early on is exceptionally difficult because of his massive integrated baseline defenses.

What makes Gragas incredibly slippery and safe in the early levels is his passive Happy Hour flat health sustain, the heavy percentage damage reduction built into Drunken Rage, and his highly versatile Body Slam dash which serves as both an escape tool and self-peel.

He is a premier weak-side champion who safely vacuums up resources and scales safely into a massive macro threat. Even if he leaves the laning phase completely neutral, his raw utility remains a massive disruption factor in mid-game skirmishes, and he can comfortably burst targets down once he secures his core Ability Power stats.

His ultimate Explosive Cask is a devastating disruption tool. High-tier players will combine the explosive knockback with a fluid Body Slam to forcibly launch you or your carries backward into a pre-placed, fully charged Barrel Roll zone.

Always maintain active tracking on his model positioning. If you see a stationary barrel brewing on the floor and Gragas starts aggressively hovering forward for a Body Slam line, immediately prepare to reposition to avoid getting launched into his burst combo.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely breaks his primary defensive and offensive patterns. When he attempts to interrupt your approach with Body Slam, your passive completely ignores the displacement stun. Since his dash cooldown is heavily penalized if he fails to land the crowd control properly, you can instantly drop a heavy E-empowered auto-attack onto his face as punishment.

Be careful with your ultimate usage. While Mundo is unstoppable during Maximum Dosage's movement speed burst, a perfectly placed Explosive Cask can still be thrown directly in front of you to physically blast you miles away from his squishy backline carries.

Because Gragas deals purely magic-based burst damage in the top lane, prioritizing early Magic Resistance is your absolute best path to success.

Rushing Hollow Radiance as your primary completed option is highly recommended. It yields robust magic defense metrics while giving you excellent passive wave-clear to match his barrel pressure, preventing him from freely roaming to map objectives.

In late-game side lane split scenarios, Dr. Mundo holds a distinct structural advantage. Your infinite health scaling and health-regeneration thresholds easily absorb his burst rotations, letting you aggressively shove down towers with Demolish.

However, actually killing him at this stage is a massive chore. A late-game Gragas will build massive amounts of Ability Haste, allowing him to stay permanently out of your reach by spamming his slows, dashes, and frequently resetting his Phase Rush keystone. Don't waste precious time chasing him across the map.

In 5v5 teamfights, your roles diverge entirely. Gragas will look to play like a tricky disrupter, trying to split your team's formation apart with his ultimate. Your objective as a massive frontline raid boss is to confidently step forward, absorb his initial ability rotations with your massive item bulk, and force his team backward so your backline can freely melt down objectives.

Gwen, the Hallowed Seamstress
Overall difficulty: 5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Kaenic Rookern, Spirit Visage, Thornmail, Force of Nature
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Thousand Cuts % max HP magic damage, Snip Snip! center true damage, Hallowed Mist invulnerability, Needlework execution spikes
"TOP LANE WAIFU DIFF"**

This is a definitive, nightmare-tier counter matchup for Dr. Mundo. Her entire ability design functions explicitly to shred high-health, zero-mobility juggernauts.

She possesses spammable dashes, heavy multi-cast slows, untargetability, and infinite scaling % Max HP magic damage.

During the early laning phase, your sole objective is to play for extreme survival. Do not take ego fights or try to trade auto-attacks with her. Focus entirely on staying even in experience points and keeping her from triggering a heavy gold snowball, because an item-accelerated Gwen will completely take over the game.

Be incredibly respectful of her sniper stacks. Watch her resource bar beneath her health; when she gets a full 4 stacks, her next Q Snip Snip! will shred you. Standing in the center line of her clips converts the baseline magic damage into raw % Max HP true damage. She will typically unlock this tool at level 2 and fish for aggressive E-dash forward Q trades.

Itemization is highly awkward in this matchup. Her passive Thousand Cuts provides her with built-in healing based on the % Max HP damage she inflicts, which amplifies further once she grabs Riftmaker. As a pure tank Mundo, buying physical armor items like Bramble Vest early is highly inefficient for your stats, but you will eventually need Thornmail just to apply Grievous Wounds, as there is no pure Magic Resistance anti-heal item in the game.

Your primary tool to scrape through this lane safely is Infected Bonesaw. You can completely neutralise her lane pressure by safely sitting miles back and farming minions with cleavers from range.

Be extremely cautious using your cleavers when she is standing inside her W Hallowed Mist. Her zone renders her entirely immune to any projectles thrown from outside the physical boundary ring. If you need to throw a secure slowing cleaver or hit her, you are forced to step directly into her melee zone inside the mist, which puts you in extreme danger.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases is heavily devalued here. Gwen does not possess a single hard crowd-control displacement or stun in her entire kit to pop your canister. Her only form of crowd control is the decaying slow attached to her multi-cast ultimate Needlework, meaning you get zero passive block value in standard fights.

Rushing heavy Magic Resistance core items is absolutely critical to surviving past the mid-game. Rush Mercury's Treads paired immediately with Hollow Radiance. The magic defense blocks her basic trading loop, and the passive wave-clear explosion properties allow you to quickly clear waves under your tower without locking yourself into long auto-attack animations.

The side lanes become completely unplayable for Mundo later on. Her raw dueling kit completely steamrolls your health pools. Once she hits her 2-3 item power spikes, you absolutely cannot match her in an isolated 1v1 split push and will be forced to forfeit lane priority and hold towers.

Your single saving grace lies in early-to-mid game team skirmishes. While Gwen wants isolated 1v1 or 2v2 brawls where she can safely stack her conqueror and passive, Mundo brings immediate frontline value. Look to shove out your waves safely with Hollow Radiance, coordinate with your team to force early neutral objectives, and use your massive ultimate Maximum Dosage to block for your backline carries before she can reach her late-game hyper-scaling thresholds.

Heimerdinger, the Revered Inventor
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Kaenic Rookern, Spirit Visage, Force of Nature
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Turret beam charges, CH-2 Grenade stun, AP burn items, Upgrade!!! laser setups
Laning against a skilled Heimerdinger is an exercise in pure patience.

Your structural goal is simply to survive the early level deficit, soak up nearby minion gold/experience thresholds, and avoid giving up early deaths that would accelerate his tower-pushing game plan.

Locking in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind is entirely non-negotiable to easily absorb his constant auto-attacks and stray rocket procs.

Heimerdinger anchors his entire laning priority around his Q H-28G Evolution Turret, turning his side of the lane into a dangerous, static zoning nest. Because his turrets are completely stationary once placed, his early-game trading loop is fundamentally reactive rather than proactive—he excels at punishing champions who blindly step forward into his defensive perimeter.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases acts as an incredible offensive and defensive trump card. His primary self-peel and crowd-control tool is the central stun zone of his CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade. Your passive will completely block the stun impact, leaving him completely defenseless. If he steps forward and misses or burns his grenade to pop your passive, you can easily pick up your canister, activate Maximum Dosage, and run his immobile model directly down the lane for a free solo kill.

Because he is completely immobile without his grenade stun asset, a flashless Heimerdinger is a sitting duck for aggressive jungle ganks. Clear out his defensive turrets first with cleavers, wait for him to misposition, and slow him to set up a free collapse.

Prioritizing early Magic Resistance and wave-clear completely breaks his mid-game scaling loops.

Rushing Mercury's Treads followed immediately by Hollow Radiance is your best build path. The magic protection completely dampens his basic damage spikes, while the passive immolate explosions allow you to match his heavy pushing power under your own turret structure.

Since items like Liandry's Torment and Rylai's Crystal Scepter are core staples in his inventory, look to buy Kaenic Rookern for an indestructible magic shield, or Force of Nature to gain massive stacking magic defense and high rotational movement speed to counter his slow effects.

In mid-game teamfights, Heimerdinger will look for a dense choke point to drop his ultimate-augmented UPGRADE!!! apex turret, which pumps out massive continuous area-of-effect damage. The moment you see him deploy the giant ultimate turret, ping your team to immediately disengage, step back, and kite away until the zone expires.

During late-game side lane split scenarios, he cannot safely match your raw health scaling. Once you have 3-4 completed tank items, his turrets will barely scratch your health pool. You can confidently walk up, ignore his zoning nests entirely, and utilize Demolish to crush his structures right in front of him.

If you find yourself getting shoved in aggressively during the early levels, feel free to put 3 early skill points into Heart Zapper. The extra burst wave-clear and gray-health restoration ensure you can effortlessly secure minions under your tower without taking unwanted chip damage.

Illaoi, the Kraken Priestess
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Randuin's Omen, Iceborn Gauntlet
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Test of Spirit E tether, Prophet of an Elder God tentacle slams, Leap of Faith R burst zone
This is an incredibly punishing, high-stakes matchup for Dr. Mundo. While you can confidently survive the early levels, a single misstep against her positioning will result in her completely overtaking the side lane.

A pure tank setup is highly preferred to successfully absorb her massive base physical values.

Laning against Illaoi requires immaculate, constant lateral sidestepping and sharp cooldown tracking. The overwhelming majority of her damage output relies on her passive tentacles Prophet of an Elder God, which slam down violently whenever she commands them via her basic spells or pulls out your spirit with Test of Spirit.

Your absolute golden rule in this lane is to permanently weave behind your minion wave. Her crucial tool Test of Spirit cannot pass through active minion models, leaving her completely unable to threaten you while you remain covered.

If she manages to land Test of Spirit on you, do not attempt to walk up and fight her over the clone. Turn around and run entirely out of the massive boundary ring to sever the tether. Be intensely ready for the aftermath: breaking the tether inflicts a heavy decaying slow and turns you into a Vessel, spawning hostile tentacles that instantly slam down at your position. Keep moving horizontally to dodge the incoming swings.

Once she reaches level 6, her kill threat spikes exponentially. She will aggressively fish for a close-range Test of Spirit right into her ultimate Leap of Faith. The moment she triggers her ultimate animation, do not fight her under any circumstances. Walk away immediately, abandon the zone, and wait out the duration of her empowered tentacles.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases offers an exceptional structural interaction against her tether mechanics. If you choose to step out of the Test of Spirit radius or if she kills your clone to turn you into a Vessel, the initial slow applied by the curse will be completely blocked by your passive. This allows you to smoothly walk away without being hindered by the heavy slow, though you must still dodge the subsequent tentacle spawns.

Locking in Doran's Shield paired with Second Wind is standard requirement to shrug off her persistent early lane poke.

Because her entire damage output is physical, building armor early yields massive rewards. Rushing Plated Steelcaps paired with a Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail cripples her raw physical output and applies essential Grievous Wounds to curb her heavy spell-vamp healing.

Be extremely mindful of her item spikes. Standard Illaoi players will rush Black Cleaver, which strips away up to 30% of your total armor values. This item transforms your health stacking into a vulnerability if you stay stationary in her slam zones.

Teamfighting against her is entirely determined by zoning and territory control. She thrives in congested, tight choke points like the dragon pit, baron river, or narrow jungle corridors where her ultimate Leap of Faith can easily spawn 4 to 5 slamming tentacles simultaneously.

Your primary job as a high-mobility frontliner is to use your spammable Infected Bonesaw to slow her down before she can approach your team. Aggressively ping your allies away from tight areas, forcing her to fight in wide-open lanes where her static setup is completely useless.

If you find yourself struggling heavily to avoid her Test of Spirit or need a defensive cushion to survive under your tower, feel free to put 3 early points into Heart Zapper. The expanded gray-health storage provides a highly effective buffer to soak up her clone transfer damage until you can safely back for armor components.

Irelia, the Blade Dancer
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Ionian Fervor fully stacked auto-attacks, Bladesurge minion resets, Flawless Duet E stun, Vanguard's Edge R cage
Unlike other traditional tank match ups, Irelia is a highly favorable and comfortable lane for Dr. Mundo. While her high mobility can look intimidating, your pure stat-check scaling quickly outpaces her damage output.

Your primary rule in this lane is to actively monitor her passive stacks Ionian Fervor. When she has 4 glowing blades under her health bar, her basic attacks gain massive bonus attack speed and on-hit magic damage. Do not trade auto-attacks with her when her passive is fully stacked.

Pay close attention to your own minion wave's health. Irelia wants to execute low-health minions with Bladesurge to chain dashes, instantly stack her passive, and gap-close directly onto you. Keep your distance from dying friendly minions to deny her easy access.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases acts as an absolute hard counter to her primary engagement tool. To secure a kill, Irelia relies entirely on landing the stun from Flawless Duet or the initial slow wall from her ultimate Vanguard's Edge to get free Bladesurge dash resets. Your passive will completely absorb the stun or heavy slow, dropping a canister and leaving her completely stranded mid-dash without a reset.

When your passive blocks her stun, don't run away. Walk over your canister to instantly heal up, pop Heart Zapper, and bash her with a heavy E-empowered auto-attack. Since she is squishy early on, a few clean trades will easily force her out of lane.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is standard requirement to easily neutralize her early auto-attack chip damage.

Be highly aware of her definitive 1-item spike. Blade of the Ruined King is a mandatory core item on Irelia that inflicts heavy physical percentage current-HP damage on every auto-attack. Once she secures this completed item, she gains an immediate dueling window against high-health champions.

To completely shut down her healing and item spikes, prioritize early armor and attack speed cripples.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps paired with an immediate Bramble Vest completely breaks her laning phase. The flat auto-attack damage reduction and automatic Grievous Wounds application entirely out-values her lifesteal loops. Transition this later into Frozen Heart or Randuin's Omen to permanently cripple her attack speed mechanics.

In mid-to-late game teamfights, you hold a massive structural advantage. While Irelia must precisely dive your backline and requires flawless execution to survive focus fire, you can act as an un-peelable front-line raid boss. Activate Maximum Dosage to gain massive bonus attack damage and movement speed, body-block her lines of approach, and force her to waste her defensive channel Defiant Dance early.

During side lane split pressure scenarios later in the game, she cannot comfortably match your raw health scaling. Once you have 3-4 tank items completed, her auto-attacks will barely register against your health regeneration thresholds, allowing you to confidently drive her under her own structures using Demolish.

Jax, Grandmaster at Arms
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Thornmail, Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Relentless Assault stacking attack speed, Counter Strike E dodge/stun, Master-at-Arms hybrid burst
This is a high-octane skill and scaling matchup for Dr. Mundo. While Jax is a premier duelist, your massive mid-game stat-check thresholds allow you to completely overpower him if you play around his primary defensive cooldowns.

He is a premier scaling skirmisher that completely weaponizes long, drawn-out basic attack duels. His passive Relentless Assault continuously amplifies his total attack speed with every consecutive swing. Avoid standing still and trading endless auto-attacks with him early on.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases acts as your absolute safety shield against his primary engagement tool. Jax relies heavily on charging up Counter Strike and flying forward with Leap Strike to secure a guaranteed stun. Your passive will completely block the helicopter stun, leaving him completely stranded in point-blank range with his primary defensive tool fully spent.

The second he uses his Counter Strike to pop your passive, do not automatically retreat. Secure your dropped canister for an instant burst of healing, click on Heart Zapper, and drop a heavy E-empowered auto-attack directly onto him. Since Counter Strike has a massive cooldown early in the game, he is highly vulnerable to being completely run down the lane whenever it is unavailable.

Locking in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind is standard requirement to easily absorb his continuous auto-attack poke and short trading bursts.

Be intensely aware of his definitive inventory power spikes. Jax is a massive Blade of the Ruined King and Trinity Force enthusiast. Once he completes these items, his isolated 1v1 dueling capability completely sky-rockets, and his modern ultimate Grandmaster-At-Arms gives him massive passive hybrid damage spikes alongside huge defensive resists.

To comfortably survive and neutralize his physical dueling threats, rush heavy armor and attack speed cripples early.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps paired immediately with a Warden's Mail or Bramble Vest entirely breaks his early pacing. The passive auto-attack damage dampening and attack speed reductions completely starve his aggressive trading loop. Progress this seamlessly into a Frozen Heart or Randuin's Omen later on to permanently cripple his automated attack speed identity.

In mid-to-late game teamfight scenarios, you hold an immense front-line advantage. While Jax wants to find a perfect flank to dive on top of your squishy backline carries, your immense model size allows you to act as an un-peelable roadblock. Activate Maximum Dosage, throw continuous Infected Bonesaw cleavers to slow his approaches, and absorb his damage output so your team can easily melt him down.

Be exceptionally alert regarding side lane macro management later in the game. Jax excels at split-pushing and has blistering tower-shredding speeds. Do not leave him unattended for long stretches; use your superior wave-clear from Sunfire Aegis to quickly secure waves, check his map pressure, and confidently utilize Demolish to push back against his map goals.

Jayce,[],/color] the Defender of Tomorrow
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Warden's Mail -> Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen, Thornmail
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Acceleration Gate E + Shock Blast Q ranged snipe, To the Skies! Q melee gap-close, Thundering Blow E melee peel
Jayce is a highly comfortable, heavily favored matchup for Dr. Mundo. As long as you respect his flat armor-penetration thresholds in the first few levels and prevent him from fishing for a lucky early snowball, you will completely out-scale his entire kit.

He operates as a dual-form lane bully who relies on his ranged Mercury Cannon configuration to chip away at your health before transforming into his melee Mercury Hammer configuration to execute you with To The Skies! and Thundering Blow.

Your primary objective is to treat his ranged shockwaves with respect. Always angle yourself behind your minion wave or move laterally to force him to waste mana on missed Shock Blast + Acceleration Gate poke combos.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely breaks his primary defensive peel tool. In a standard trade, if Jayce feels threatened by a melee juggernaut, he will immediately swap to Hammer form and use Thundering Blow to swat you away. Your passive will completely block the knockback displacement, leaving him totally defenseless, trapped in melee range, and with his main self-peel tool completely locked on cooldown.

The second your passive absorbs his melee hammer smash, don't back away. Collect your dropped canister for an instant injection of flat health, trigger Heart Zapper, and punch him with a massive E-empowered auto-attack. Because he possesses exceptionally fragile baseline defensive stats, you can easily run him entirely down the lane with Maximum Dosage the moment he mispositions.

Locking in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind is standard requirement to effortlessly shrug off his early ranged auto-attack chip damage.

Because his entire kit deals purely physical damage, stacking early armor elements completely shuts down his active game plan.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps paired immediately with a Warden's Mail or Chain Vest completely neutralizes his lethality and flat damage spikes. The armor-scaling properties turn his ranged poke into a minor inconvenience, allowing you to comfortably control the wave state.

In mid-to-late game teamfights, your structural value completely dwarfs his. Jayce relies on landing precise ranged blast snips before a fight breaks out; by confidently standing at the front of your team formation, you can easily intercept his shockwaves with your massive health pool. Pop Maximum Dosage, absorb his full rotation, and drive his team backward so your carries can safely claim objectives.

During late-game side lane split scenarios, he becomes a complete afterthought. He lacks the sustained tank-busting damage or true-damage properties required to push through your massive late-game health regeneration pools. You can comfortably ignore his full ability damage, walk directly up to his defensive towers, and melt them down using Demolish.

K'Sante, the Pride of Nazumah
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Iceborn Gauntlet
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Ntofo Strikes Q3 airborne knock-up, Path Maker W damage reduction/cc, All Out R skirmisher transformation
YONE AND YASUO'S TANK COUSIN

K'Sante operates as a dueling-focused tank with a massive array of dashes, short-range repositions, and displacement gimmicks built directly into his abilities.

The baseline laning phase is relatively safe, though his short-range trading loops can catch you off guard if you disrespect his ability cycles.

His passive Dauntless Instinct is his primary weapon against high-health champions. Whenever he hits you with a spell, he marks your model; popping this mark with his next auto-attack converts a portion of his output into % Max HP physical damage. Because Mundo relies entirely on stacking infinite health pools, trading endless basic attacks with a fully active K'Sante is a losing battle.

Watch his model indicators closely. When he lands two successful hits with Ntofo Strikes, his third cast (Q3) triggers a violent wind-up that launches a linear shockwave to pull you into the air. Keep moving laterally to force him to waste this indicator on thin air.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely dismantles his core combat sequence. K'Sante relies entirely on stringing displacements together—such as pulling you with Q3, knocking you back with Path Maker, or using his ultimate All Out to launch you over terrain. Your passive will completely absorb the first displacement impact, dropping your canister and leaving him awkwardly locked in place without completing his combo.

The absolute golden rule of this lane occurs at level 6. K'Sante hits a massive power spike via his ultimate All Out, wherein he shatters his tank defenses to drag you through nearby walls. Never hug the terrain borders or lane alcoves when his ultimate is online.

When he goes All Out, his baseline resistances are slashed in half, and his armor converts into raw Attack Damage, Omnivamp, and extended dash ranges for Path Maker and Footwork. The moment he activates this, do not panic. Since he intentionally discards his tank health pool, activate Maximum Dosage to match his speed, step out of his immediate hitboxes, and blast his newly squished health bar down with E-empowered attacks and heavy cleavers.

Because his physical spell scalings increase with his total defensive armor values, building early physical protection yields massive dividends.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest is highly recommended. The flat armor limits his raw trading damage, while the passive Grievous Wounds cuts directly into his ultimate form's lifesteal sustainability. You can safely farm or poke from deep range using Infected Bonesaw whenever he attempts to hold lane priority.

Outside of the early laning stages, outright executing K'Sante becomes incredibly difficult. His kit naturally incentivizes him to build pure tank items like Iceborn Gauntlet, meaning he will quickly stack enough armor to safely shrug off your physical baseline damage. Stick strictly to a pure tank setup; trying to force a damage build is highly inefficient since you won't easily burst him down.

By the mid-game, K'Sante's side-lane presence splits into an active macro challenge. While he is an excellent duelist and can clear waves safely, his structure-demolishing speeds are exceptionally poor.

Most high-tier K'Sante players will look to quickly clear out a minion wave and immediately rotate toward river objectives or look for flank picks. Match his lane shoves with your Sunfire Aegis wave-clear, anchor yourself to the lane to punish his absence by destroying his towers with Demolish, and drop deep vision to prevent him from getting free flanks onto your squishy backline teammates.

Kayle, the Righteous
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Heartsteel, Hollow Radiance, Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen, Kaenic Rookern
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Divine Ascent evolutionary spikes, Starfire Spellblade execution poke, Divine Judgment R invulnerability
BEWARE OF HER LEVEL 1

This is a ticking time-bomb matchup that heavily favors Dr. Mundo in the early-to-mid game, but shifts dramatically into her favor if the game stalls out. Your absolute priority is to aggressively bully her early and prevent her from safely accelerating her hyper-scaling thresholds.

Kayle is fundamentally defined by her passive Divine Ascent, which awards her severe structural evolutions at levels 6, 11, and 16.

Do not fall into the trap of disrespecting her Level 1. Despite her notorious reputation as a weak early-game champion, her level 1 fight is deceptively lethal. Her passive gives her massive stacking attack speed (up to 5 stacks), which pairs perfectly with the passive on-hit magic damage and active execution properties of Starfire Spellblade. Never walk into melee range to contest the very first minion wave.

Once you survive the initial levels, you can completely dominate her between levels 2 and 5 while she is still locked into a weak, melee-range model.

Your primary weapon here is your Infected Bonesaw. Use your cleavers to continuously chunk her down from afar. Because her base magic resistance is low early on, a single clean cleaver hit strips away a massive percentage of her health pool.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases interacts beautifully with her tracking loops. Kayle's single self-peel ability is the linear slow and shred from Radiant Blast. If you run at her aggressively, your passive will completely absorb the heavy slow, enabling you to step directly over your canister, trigger Maximum Dosage, and run her down with zero resistance.

At level 6, she evolves into a ranged marksman. At level 11, she gains permanent attack-speed waves and AoE splash properties on Starfire Spellblade. Finally, at level 16, her auto-attacks become permanently exalted with maximum attack speed waves active at all times.

Locking in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind is standard requirement to cleanly absorb her persistent ranged auto-attack harrass and execution chip damage post-6.

Be extremely mindful of her hybrid scaling nature. Kayle's kit scales intensely with both AP and AD, allowing her to build standard marksman items or massive AP on-hit configurations. This means trying to counter her with armor alone will fail; you will eventually need a precise mix of Magic Resistance and attack-speed cripples.

Your optimal itemization path relies on securing an early Mercury's Treads paired with Hollow Radiance. The magic protection cuts her baseline magic damage and wave-clear waves down to size, while giving you the automated push power to shove her directly under her tower. Follow this immediately with Frozen Heart or Randuin's Omen to heavily cripple her attack speed.

In mid-game teamfights, you have a massive window of impact. Kayle is exceptionally fragile and relies heavily on using her ultimate Divine Judgment to grant herself or an ally brief damage invulnerability.

Your role as a frontliner is to use Maximum Dosage to charge straight into her face, force her to panic-cast her ultimate defensively on herself, and slow her down with cleavers so she cannot freely kite your backline team.

During late-game side lane scenarios past level 16, she becomes an absolute nightmare to duel. Her true-damage capabilities and massive attack ranges will melt through your infinite health pool before you can even touch her. Avoid matching her in isolated late-game 1v1 splits; instead, use your superior wave clear to hold your structures defensively and force teamfights around major objectives where she can be collapsed on.

Kennen, the Heart of the Tempest
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Heartsteel, Hollow Radiance, Kaenic Rookern, Force of Nature, Spirit Visage
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Mark of the Storm stun tracking, Electrical Surge passive autos, Slicing Maelstrom R teamfight storm
Laning against Kennen is a masterclass in patience. While his early ranged magic harassment can be incredibly irritating, he completely lacks the baseline health-shredding mechanics required to ever threaten Dr. Mundo in a true 1v1 vacuum.

He operates entirely as an AP poke and teamfight-oriented disruptor who relies on throwing linear skillshots and caching magic marks to stun aggressive targets.

Your most critical defensive habit is to permanently position yourself directly behind your minion wave. His main ranged poke tool, Thundering Shuriken, is blocked by the very first unit it collides with. By using your minions as a meat shield, you force him to walk into dangerous angles just to land an auto-attack.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely ruins his combat cadence. Kennen's entire threat profile revolves around his passive Mark of the Storm—applying 3 marks triggers a lightning stun. If he attempts to dive you or use his ultimate to chain-stun you, your passive will completely absorb the very first stun application. This drops a canister, giving you a huge window to reset your health and walk out of his lightning fields.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is absolutely mandatory. This setup, paired with Mundo's natural health regeneration, completely neutralizes his early basic attack poke and basic ability chip damage.

Because his entire wave control relies on charging his model forward with Lightning Rush, he is highly susceptible to your long-range counter-poke. Use your Infected Bonesaw to clip him whenever he runs linearly. Because Kennen has some of the lowest base defensive health values in the game, landing two or three cleavers will completely strip his lane pressure and force him to farm defensively.

Prioritizing early Magic Resistance itemization completely shuts down his active scaling loops.

Rushing Mercury's Treads followed immediately by a Hollow Radiance transforms this lane into a breeze. The flat magic defense heavily dampens his shock burst, while the automated Immolate explosions give you the superior pushing power needed to trap him directly under his own tower structure.

Be intensely mindful of his macro identity. Kennen does not want to split-push against you late game; he wants to group up and fish for game-winning flanks using a Slicing Maelstrom + Hextech Rocketbelt + Flash engagement to melt your backline carries.

Your primary job in mid-game teamfights is to act as a giant lightning rod. When you see him activate his ultimate storm, confidently activate Maximum Dosage and walk directly into his path of approach. Body-block his angles, drop a heavy slow with Infected Bonesaw, and force him to waste his entire ultimate duration striking your massive tank shell while your team safely repositions.

To completely wall him out of the late game, secure a Kaenic Rookern or Force of Nature. The massive magic shield and stacking movement speed traits make you completely immune to his burst patterns, letting you easily execute his structures with Demolish whenever he leaves the side lane.

Kled, the Cantankerous Cavalier
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Warden's Mail -> Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Beartrap on a Rope Q pull/healing reduction, Violent Tendencies W attack speed bursts, Skaarl remount baiting
This is a high-intensity, lane-dominant snowball matchup. While you can completely out-scale his utility past the mid-game, Kled possesses an incredibly violent early game kit explicitly designed to force early all-in skirmishes and snowball a massive lead.

Your absolute primary tactical focus is tracking his passive Skaarl the Cowardly Lizard and his automatic tool Violent Tendencies. When his W is active, his next 4 auto-attacks gain immense, un-cancelable attack speed, with the final strike dealing huge bonus physical damage based on your missing health. Never engage in prolonged melee trades when his weapon is glowing with W active.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely alters how you navigate his skillshots. Kled's primary trading loop involves landing his linear Beartrap on a Rope (Q). If it stays tethered to you for 1.75 seconds, it snaps, pulling you backward, slowing you heavily, and applying a massive 60% healing reduction. Your passive will completely block the pull displacement and the subsequent heavy slow, letting you break the tether's grip entirely for free.

Be incredibly wary of his dismounted baiting cycles. When you deplete his initial health pool, Skaarl flees, rendering Kled targetable but untargetable during the brief dismount animation. While dismounted, he takes reduced damage from external abilities. Do not blindly dive or assume he is a free kill while dismounted. If he successfully attacks you or lands pellets from his Pocket Pistol, he quickly restores his Courage meter—instantly remounting Skaarl with a massive chunk of fresh health pool to turn the fight completely on its head.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is entirely mandatory to absorb his early lane poke and trade loops.

Because his entire ability layout scales entirely off of raw physical damage, stacking early armor elements completely strips his kill pressure.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps paired immediately with a Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail is highly recommended. The flat armor reduces his aggressive output, while the passive Grievous Wounds keeps his lifesteal values low. Use your long-range Infected Bonesaw to farm from deep range and safely chip at his health whenever he tries to aggressively freeze or freeze under your tower.

Be intensely mindful of map rotations past level 6. Kled's ultimate Chaaaaaaaarge!!! allows him to roll across massive distances, gaining a massive shield and opening a high-speed tracking draft for his allies to execute long-range map collapses or dives.

Your primary job in mid-game macro scenarios is to match his physical shoves. Kled thrives on clearing a wave and immediately using his ultimate to dive your mid-lane or bot-lane carries. Use your superior wave clear via Sunfire Aegis to trap him in the side lane, and ping your team aggressively whenever he goes missing in fog of war.

During late game teamfight scenarios, you hold a massive structural advantage. In massive frontal teamfights, Kled struggles to comfortably target the backline if a massive frontliner blocks his path. Activate Maximum Dosage, intercept his ultimate charge with your massive hitbox, and use continuous cleavers to slow down his approaches so your team can easily lock him down and force Skaarl to flee early.

Malphite, the Shard of the Monolith
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads/ Boots of Swiftness, Heartsteel, Hollow Radiance, Kaenic Rookern, Sunfire Aegis, Unending Despair
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Granite Shield passive tracking, Seismic Shard Q speed-steal poke, Unstoppable Force R mountain dive
This is an incredibly relaxing, heavily favored lane for Dr. Mundo. It begins as a brief poke matchup in the opening levels before rapidly dissolving into a standard tank-versus-tank farm lane where neither of you can realistically execute each other in a vacuum.

His early laning identity revolves around using Seismic Shard to chip away your health bar while stealing a massive percentage of your movement speed to prevent you from walking up to contest him.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is standard requirement to completely neutralize his early Q spam. Because Seismic Shard consumes an immense amount of mana, Malphite will completely exhaust his entire mana pool trying to poke you down while you effortlessly regenerate through his damage.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases acts as the ultimate ultimate-counter in the game. Malphite's entire late-game presence is gated by his signature engagement tool, Unstoppable Force. If he attempts to drop his mountain dive directly onto you, your passive will completely absorb the airborne knock-up displacement, letting you step over your canister and walk away unscathed.

Be mindful of his passive armor shell, Granite Shield. When it is active, he gains a massive shield worth 10% of his maximum health. Use your spammable Infected Bonesaw to constantly tag him from deep range; hitting him with a single cleaver prevents his shield from refreshing and steadily chips away at his health pool.

If your opponent decides to build full AP Malphite, he plays exactly like a squishy, melee-range mage. This version is an even easier matchup for you. Once you secure your initial magic defenses, his full burst rotation will barely scratch your health pool, enabling you to run him completely down the lane using Maximum Dosage.

Prioritizing basic magic defenses early completely halts his active laning phase.

Securing an early Mercury's Treads or Boots of Swiftness heavily dampens the duration and potency of his movement speed steals. Transition this immediately into a Hollow Radiance or Kaenic Rookern to make yourself completely immune to his magic damage values.

While both of you will look to secure high impact in mid-to-late game teamfights, you hold a massive macro advantage over him in the side lane. Malphite possesses exceptionally poor wave-clear and terrible structure damage, making him completely unable to match a dedicated split-pusher.

Use your superior wave-clear from Hollow Radiance to aggressively shove him under his tower, and comfortably drop massive structural damage using Demolish. If he ever leaves the lane to look for a teamfight, you can quickly punish his rotation by destroying his entire lane configuration.

Maokai, the Twisted Treant
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Heartsteel, Hollow Radiance, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Kaenic Rookern, Spirit Visage
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Sap Magic passive healing loops, Twisted Advance W point-and-click root, Brush-empowered Sapling Toss E, Nature's Grasp R teamfight wall
This is a highly comfortable, low-stress tank matchup that heavily rewards Dr. Mundo's passive engine. While Maokai has transitioned to being more commonly played as a utility support nowadays rather than a standard top-laner, meeting him in an isolated 1v1 turns the lane into a free farm and scaling simulator.

In the laning phase, Maokai thrives on short trading bursts. He will look to dive forward with Twisted Advance to root you, lock you down with the directional knockback from Bramble Smash, and drop a heavy Grasp of the Undying and Sap Magic empowered auto-attack to out-sustain your trades.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely breaks his primary engage loop. Because Twisted Advance is a point-and-click root, Maokai cannot miss it. However, the exact millisecond he dashes onto you, your passive will completely absorb the root condition entirely. He will end up standing right next to you with his primary lockdown tool on a heavy cooldown, dropping a canister for you to step over and regain instant health.

Exercise high caution around lane and river bushes. Maokai's Sapling Toss units become heavily empowered and gain extended chase durations when thrown directly into brush lines, exploding for massive hybrid maximum health damage. Steer clear of un-warded bushes during trades to deny him this free zone control.

While you can't easily execute Maokai due to his high passive sustain from Sap Magic, he completely lacks the flat damage output required to ever threaten your life bar.

Locking in an early Bramble Vest completely halts his lane rhythm. The flat armor limits his trading damage, while the automatic Grievous Wounds application heavily cripples his Sap Magic healing cycles. Pair this with Mercury's Treads and Hollow Radiance to comfortably absorb his magic damage elements while securing effortless lane clear.

Be exceptionally careful during skirmishes in tight, closed areas like the jungle. It becomes nearly impossible to naturally dodge his massive ultimate wall, Nature's Grasp, when caught in narrow terrain corridors.

Fortunately, your massive health pool and passive engine turn this into a major advantage for your team. If he unleashes his ultimate across a lane, you can pop Maximum Dosage, run directly ahead of your team to absorb the massive root lines with your body, and collect your dropped canister to heal right back up while your squishy carries stay completely safe behind you.

Ultimately, this matchup becomes a test of mid-to-late game teamfight impact. While Maokai excels at peeling for his backline and finding picking windows, his frontline presence cannot match your raw raid-boss scaling. Use your superior wave clear to pin him to his tier-two towers, dismantle his base configurations using Demolish, and confidently march into his team as an un-killable juggernaut.

Mordekaiser, the Iron Revenant
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Hollow Radiance, Force of Nature, Kaenic Rookern
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Darkness Rise magic aura passive, Isolated Obliterate Q smash, Indestructible W shield/heal, Realm of Death R death realm
This is an incredibly taxing, uphill match up for Dr. Mundo. Mordekaiser is a premier AP bruiser juggernaut explicitly designed to completely weaponize extended, long drawn-out duels where high-health targets get naturally melted down.

The early laning levels are relatively safe and highly accessible for you. You can confidently match his presence from a distance, but you must completely respect his sustained combat thresholds. Because he runs Conqueror, any fight that lasts longer than a few seconds tilts completely into his favor.

His primary laning weapon is Obliterate. When this linear slam strikes you as the single isolated target, it inflicts a massive bonus damage multiplier. Always dodge laterally to sidestep the smash, or explicitly stand directly inside your minion wave. Forcing the ability to collide with a minion completely dilutes the damage value, rendering it completely manageable.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely disrupts his core fishing loops. Mordekaiser relies on landing the slow pull from Death's Grasp to drag you into melee range to trigger his passive vortex, Darkness Rise. Your passive will completely block the displacement pull, dropping your canister and allowing you to safely control your spacing.

However, your passive will NOT block or cancel his ultimate, Realm of Death. While your immunity blocks raw crowd control, his ultimate is a stat-stealing banishment mechanic that will drag you straight to the Death Realm regardless of your passive status.

The second he traps you inside Realm of Death, do not panic or immediately blow all your tools. He steals 10% of your core combat statistics, including your massive health pool. Your primary objective inside his arena is to survive the 7-second clock. Activate Heart Zapper, throw defensive Infected Bonesaw cleavers to slow his approach, and space yourself backward. Save your Maximum Dosage for the mid-point of his ultimate to completely override his damage output and heal back to full as the walls dissipate.

Be intensely mindful of his immense sustainability loops. His W, Indestructible, converts his stored damage into a massive shield, which he can recast to heal a major portion of the value. Combined with Conqueror and his core rush item Riftmaker, his healing is exceptionally potent.

To comfortably survive his active healing, investing in anti-heal properties is an absolute necessity.

Even though he deals pure magic damage, rushing an early Bramble Vest alongside your Mercury's Treads is highly recommended. The Grievous Wounds application completely starves his Riftmaker and Indestructible recovery streams. Transition this immediately into Hollow Radiance and Force of Nature. The stacking magic resistance and massive movement speed buffs from Force of Nature perfectly neutralize his sustained magic profile and combat the slow properties of his popular Rylai's Crystal Scepter build.

In mid-to-late game macro situations, Mordekaiser scales into a devastating objective controller. His ability to banish an enemy player means he can easily remove your team's primary carries or take your Jungler completely out of a Smite fight during Baron or Dragon contests.

Your structural job in teamfights is to act as a massive physical barrier between him and your team's win-condition carries. Stand at the front of your formation, continuously slow him down with max-range cleavers, and draw his focus. If he is forced to waste his ultimate banishing you instead of your hyper-carry teammates, your team can easily wipe his backline and clean up the fight the moment you both emerge from the Death Realm.

Nasus, the Curator of the Sands
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Boots of Swiftness, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Warden's Mail -> Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Siphoning Strike Q infinite scaling, Wither W attack speed cripple, Fury of the Sands R juggernaut transformation
This is a classic ticking clock scaling matchup that heavily favors Dr. Mundo in the opening acts, but demands disciplined macro management to prevent it from spiraling out of control later on.

During the early laning phase, Nasus is incredibly passive and entirely weak. He completely lacks the tools to match your map presence, giving you a massive opening to control the wave rhythm and fish for comfortable lane dominance or isolated solo kills.

Securing anti-healing on your very first base is an absolute law in this lane. Thanks to his innate passive Soul Eater, Nasus gains an immense baseline of permanent lifesteal. If you do not curb this, he will easily shrug off your lane harass by striking low-health minions under his tower structure.

Your primary tool for keeping him pinned is Infected Bonesaw. Constantly check his movement indicators. The absolute best second to throw a cleaver is the exact micro-second he steps forward into his auto-attack animation to secure a minion with Siphoning Strike. Force him to make a miserable choice: surrender his infinite Q stacks, or absorb a heavy chunk of magic damage.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely breaks his primary target-peel mechanic. Nasus' single defensive response to aggressive lane pressure is Wither, an agonizing point-and-click slow that progressively cripples both your movement and attack speeds over 5 full seconds.

The exact millisecond he casts Wither onto you, your passive engine will completely absorb the entire crowd control profile. This drops your health canister, allowing you to confidently step over it and continue sprinting directly at him while he struggles with an empty cooldown loop.

Be incredibly respectful of his Level 6 threshold. When he activates his ultimate, Fury of the Sands, he instantly transforms into a massive raid boss, gaining bonus health, armor, magic resistance, and an aura that drains your health pool while cutting the cooldown of Siphoning Strike directly in half. Never engage in a raw melee stat-check when his ultimate is active.

If he activates his sand storm, simply pop Maximum Dosage to match his speed, throw an Infected Bonesaw to slow his approach, and space yourself backward until his transformation duration expires.

Your itemization strategy is explicitly structured to neutralize his physical output.

Rushing Boots of Swiftness is highly recommended as the flat slow reduction cuts down the impact of any subsequent Wither casts once your passive is down. Follow this immediately with an early Bramble Vest and a Sunfire Aegis. The armor mitigates his Q chunks, the anti-heal starves his passive recovery, and the immolate burn lets you push him under tower to deny him easy freezes.

By the mid-to-late game, Nasus transitions entirely into an isolated side-lane splitter. If he is allowed to freely stack his weapon without punishment, he will eventually reach a point where his Q chunks will melt through even your infinite health shell.

Do not try to match his duels past his 400+ stack thresholds. Instead, use your superior wave clear to catch his side-lane shoves early, protect your structures, and force 5v4 teamfights around major neutral objectives like Dragon or Baron where his lack of raw mobility makes him incredibly easy for your team to kite out and collapse upon.

Olaf, the Berserker
Overall difficulty: 4.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Boots of Swiftness, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Warden's Mail -> Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Undertow Q axe-spam tracking, Reckless Swing E true damage, Ragnarok R crowd control immunity
This is an exceptionally punishing, premium-difficulty matchup for Dr. Mundo. Olaf is the ultimate anti-tank berserker, specifically designed to completely run down immobile or health-stacking frontliners in raw, uninterrupted melee meat-grinder duels.

His entire lane pressure revolves around throwing and retrieving his linear skillshot, Undertow. When he tosses his axe, it applies a heavy, decaying slow. If he walks up and picks up the dropped weapon, the ability's cooldown is dramatically reduced, allowing him to chain-slow you indefinitely. If you get clipped by a single max-range axe away from your tower structure, you are in immediate danger of being run down completely.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases interacts beautifully with his early fishing loops, but it carries a fatal catch. Your passive will completely absorb the very first heavy slow application from Undertow, dropping your health canister. However, because Olaf can immediately retrieve his axe and throw it again 1 second later, your passive cooldown will be down, leaving you completely vulnerable to his subsequent chain-slows.

His ultimate, Ragnarok, is the true nightmare of this lane. When activated, Olaf gains a massive burst of movement speed and complete immunity to all forms of crowd control. The duration lasts for 3 seconds, but it continuously refreshes every single time he lands a basic attack or hits you with Reckless Swing.

Because your primary self-peel mechanics are entirely tethered to slowing him with Infected Bonesaw, he completely ignores your tools. When he activates Ragnarok, he will effortlessly sprint through your cleavers, ignoring the slow completely, and use his true-damage strikes from Reckless Swing to melt through your health pool.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is standard protocol to survive his early physical lane harassment.

Your absolute lifeline in this matchup is to rush Boots of Swiftness. The flat slow resistance is mandatory because it significantly reduces the potency of his Undertow chain-slows, giving you a small window to turn and sprint safely back to your tower threshold. Follow this immediately with a Bramble Vest and Warden's Mail. The armor cuts down his physical damage, while the Grievous Wounds heavily starves his passive lifesteal from Berserker Rage and the shields from Tough It Out.

Your primary tactical objective in the laning phase is to farm from maximum distance using Infected Bonesaw. Never walk up into melee range to contentiously trade auto-attacks with him. Olaf thrives when he is low on health, as Berserker Rage grants him massive scaling attack speed the lower his health bar drops. Keep the minion wave locked safely directly outside your tower line.

In mid-to-late game teamfights, Olaf's entire macro goal is to ignore the frontline entirely, activate his ultimate, and dive directly onto your backline marksman and mage carries to execute them without being locked down by crowd control.

Your role in teamfight scenarios shifts entirely to body-blocking. Pop Maximum Dosage to match his high raw movement speed, and position your massive physical hitbox directly in front of his model path. Even though he ignores the slow from your Infected Bonesaw while Ragnarok is ticking, he cannot walk through solid character models. Use your massive health pool to absorb his true-damage strikes, force him to focus you, and buy your backline carries the critical seconds they need to space backward until his ultimate duration finally expires.

Ornn, the Fire below the Mountain
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Heartsteel, Hollow Radiance, Kaenic Rookern, Sunfire Aegis, Abyssal Mask
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Bellows Breath W percent-health breath, Brittle passive basic-attack procs, Searing Charge E terrain knockup, Call of the Forge God R dual-cast ram
This is a standard, highly secure scaling tank lane where Dr. Mundo holds a distinct edge. While Ornn scales into a massive, un-killable behemoth due to his passive Living Forge amplifying his bonus health, armor, and magic resistance, he lacks the kit fluidity to permanently shut down your health-regeneration loops.

Correcting a common misconception: Ornn does NOT deal mostly physical damage. His primary trading engine, Bellows Breath (W), and his passive Brittle procs deal immense, scaling Magic Damage based entirely on your maximum health pool. Stacking early armor against him is a major trap that will result in you getting melted in short trading sequences.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely dismantles his core knockup configurations. Ornn's primary trading combo relies on creating a small pillar with Volcanic Rupture (Q) and crashing directly into it using Searing Charge (E) to knock you into the air.

The exact frame he hits his charge, your passive engine will completely absorb the airborne displacement, dropping a health canister. Because he animation-locks himself during his combos, you have an un-missable window to land a point-blank Infected Bonesaw and run him completely down the lane using your massive attack speed steroid from Blunt Force Trauma.

Be intensely respectful of his Brittle application window. When he completes his Bellows Breath stream, you will be coated in a red fiery status effect. Do not step up to let him hit you with a basic attack while Brittle is active. His auto-attack will consume the mark to deal massive bonus maximum health damage and briefly micro-knock you back. Walk backward slightly to let the debuff expire naturally.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind handles his basic ability chip damage effortlessly.

Because his primary offensive components scale through magic damage percentages, prioritizing early magic resistance completely turns this lane into a breeze.

Rushing Mercury's Treads followed immediately by a Hollow Radiance or Kaenic Rookern renders you entirely immune to his kill pressure. The magic resistance completely dampens his percent-health fire breath, while the automated wave-clear from Hollow Radiance ensures you can match his lane tempo without burning through your health resource.

In mid-to-late game teamfights, Ornn shifts completely into a devastating team-fight engager. His signature ultimate, Call of the Forge God, summons a massive elemental ram that slows enemies in its path before he redirects it to knock up an entire clustered team formation.

Your primary structural role in teamfights is to act as a giant shield for your backline. When you see him recast his ram ultimate, confidently activate Maximum Dosage and place your massive character model directly in the path of the ram. Your passive will completely absorb the massive knockup, preventing the crowd control from ever reaching your backline carries so they can comfortably stay in formation and melt his front line.

Furthermore, you hold a massive macro advantage over him in isolated side-lanes. Ornn wants to group up to forge item upgrades for his teammates; he cannot match your rapid side-lane structure pressure. Use your superior scaling to trap him under his tier-two towers, chunk his health with spammable cleavers, and systematically destroy his structures using Demolish.

Pantheon, the Unbreakable Spear
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Warden's Mail -> Randuin's Omen, Unending Despair
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Mortal Will passive stack tracking, Comet Spear Q execute poke, Shield Vault W point-and-click stun, Aegis Assault E invulnerability shield, Grand Starfall R semi-global crash
This is a high-intensity, lane-dominant skirmish matchup. Pantheon is a highly volatile early game dueler looking to aggressively snowball leads. He is a peculiar assassin/bruiser hybrid because, unlike other pure assassins, his built-in armor penetration and heavy itemization paths allow him to melt standard tanks if he gains a gold advantage.

Your main tactical focus in lane is tracking his passive bar, Mortal Will. He gains stacks by hitting abilities or basic attacks. At 5 stacks, his next basic ability becomes heavily empowered. Never contest a minion wave when his passive bar is glowing red. An empowered Q or W trade will take an massive chunk out of your health pool before you can retaliate.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely castrates his primary engage loop. Pantheon relies heavily on using Shield Vault (W) to dive forward, stun you in place, and unleash his entire burst rotation. The exact micro-second he leaps onto you, your passive will completely absorb the stun duration, letting you walk backward completely free while he animation-locks himself directly in front of you.

Be incredibly mindful of his execute mechanics. His Comet Spear (Q) deals massively increased damage to targets falling below 25% of their maximum health. If you are low, do your best to walk erratically and sidestep the linear spear thrust entirely.

Never underestimate his raw damage scaling past level 6. His ultimate, Grand Starfall, gives him passive armor penetration automatically. When combined with core items like Eclipse, Black Cleaver, or Blade of the Ruined King, his physical damage scales exceptionally well against high-health targets.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is mandatory to completely dull his early Q spear poke.

Because his entire ability layout deals pure physical damage, stacking early armor elements rapidly drains his kill threat in the 1v1 lane.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps paired immediately with a Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail is highly recommended. The flat armor scales perfectly against his physical ratios, while the passive attack-speed reduction or Grievous Wounds keeps his sustained trades entirely toothless. Use your long-range Infected Bonesaw to safely farm and chip at his health whenever he tries to step up aggressively.

Be intensely mindful of map rotations past level 6. Pantheon excels at clearing a wave and immediately using the semi-global range of Grand Starfall to crash down onto your mid-lane or bot-lane carries to swing a skirmish around.

Your structural job in mid-game macro scenarios is to exploit his roam timers. Pantheon has poor natural wave clear compared to an immolate tank. Use your superior wave clear via Sunfire Aegis to constantly keep him trapped under his tower structure, and aggressively punish his map roams by melting his base objectives with Demolish. If he disappears into fog of war, ping your team's lanes frantically.

During late-game teamfight scenarios, you hold a massive health-buffer advantage. In massive frontal teamfights, Pantheon struggles to find picking windows if a giant frontliner blocks his entry path. Pop Maximum Dosage, intercept his dive paths with your massive physical hitbox, and use continuous cleavers to slow his advance so your backline carries can comfortably kite him out and melt his squishy frame the moment his Aegis Assault shield falls down.

Poppy, Keeper of the Hammer
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Iron Ambassador passive buckler, Hammer Shock Q double-burst slam, Heroic Charge E wall-stun, Keeper's Verdict R airborne knock-away
This is an incredibly comfortable, low-stress lane for Dr. Mundo. Poppy is a warden tank who heavily relies on shutting down high-mobility champions with dashes. Because your entire kit relies on walking forward on your own two feet, her primary anti-dash utility is completely useless against you, letting you out-scale and out-meatball her effortlessly.

Her main laning trading tool is Hammer Shock (Q). She slams the ground to deal percent-health damage in a small area, which then erupts a second later for the exact same damage values. Never stand still inside the initial smash zone. The first part is easy to shrug off, but stepping out of the area before the second eruption triggers completely minimizes her lane DPS.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely neutralizes her entire trading threat. Poppy's biggest kill windows come from landing Heroic Charge (E) to slam you directly into a wall for a heavy, extended stun.

The exact millisecond she tackles you, your passive engine will completely absorb the displacement and the wall-stun entirely. Instead of being locked down, you will immediately drop a health canister, letting you walk right over it and aggressively turn the trade back onto her with point-blank Infected Bonesaw cleavers while she stands completely exposed next to the terrain.

Be mindful of her passive shield, Iron Ambassador. Every few seconds, she will throw her buckler as a ranged basic attack, which bounces onto the ground. Step directly onto her dropped buckler whenever possible. Stomping on the shield completely destroys it, denying her a massive health buffer and leaving her highly vulnerable to your follow-up damage.

Exercise caution when contesting her past level 6 near objective walls or under her tower structure. While your passive blocks standard crowd control, her ultimate Keeper's Verdict can be charged up to launch you a massive distance back toward your own fountain. While it won't kill you, getting thrown across the map can completely remove you from a critical teamfight or allow her to steal a free objective.

Locking in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind completely counters her passive buckler poke and initial Q chips.

Because her ability outputs scale through pure physical damage, stacking early armor entirely halts her trading rhythm.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps followed immediately by a Heartsteel and Sunfire Aegis is standard requirement. The flat armor and basic-attack damage reduction from your boots completely mitigates her physical output, while Sunfire Aegis ensures you can effortlessly match her wave clear without spending your own health bar to shove the lane.

In mid-to-late game macro situations, Poppy wants to group with her team to peel for her backline carries and lock down incoming divers. However, she completely lacks the structural damage or side-lane pressure to contest a dedicated split-pusher.

Use your superior wave-clear to constantly pin her under her structures, chunk her out from deep range with continuous Infected Bonesaw throws, and methodically dismantle her tier-two towers using Demolish. If she ever abandons the side lane to help her team, you can quickly punish her absence by tearing directly into her base configuration.

Quinn, Demacia's Wings
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Warden's Mail -> Randuin's Omen / Frozen Heart
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Harrier passive vulnerability marks, Blinding Assault Q nearsight skillshot, Vault E displacement kick, Behind Enemy Lines R hyper-speed roam
This is a classic ranged marksman matchup that requires early laning discipline but yields an exceptionally high reward. While a skilled Quinn will look to relentlessly bully your early levels, she completely lacks the tools or baseline penetration to puncture your defenses once you lock in basic armor pieces.

Your early game mindset must focus entirely on damage mitigation. Lock in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind to cleanly shrug off her baseline basic attack chip. Let the initial minion waves push naturally into your sector. Sacrificing a few minor minion lasthits to keep your health pool above 80% is entirely correct; simply use long-range Infected Bonesaw throws to safely clean up what you can.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely shatters her only self-peel and spacing tool. Quinn’s entire trading safety relies on using Vault (E) to flip off your character model, applying a brief slow and displacement while kicking herself back to maximum attack range.

The exact frame her feet touch your chest, your passive engine will completely absorb the displacement, canceling her back-flip momentum entirely. She will end up awkward and misplaced right in front of your face. Collect your dropped canister for instant health, activate the massive attack speed steroid from Blunt Force Trauma, and smash her squishy frame down the lane while she scrambles with empty cooldowns.

Be incredibly mindful of her passive marks, Harrier. Valor will periodically scan you to apply a glowing vulnerability crosshair. Never walk forward to trade if you are actively marked by Harrier. Her auto-attacks will consume the mark to inflict heavy physical burst damage and grant her a major burst of movement and attack speed. Step back slightly until the crosshair naturally expires.

Also, do your best to weave behind your minion wave to block Blinding Assault (Q). If the linear bird skillshot connects, it completely strips away your vision radius with a nearsight effect, making it impossible to target her with point-blank attacks or tracking cleavers.

Your itemization strategy completely neutralizes her entire combat loop.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps on your very first base is mandatory. The flat physical armor combined with the passive 12% basic attack damage reduction completely breaks her DPS rhythm. Follow this immediately with a Warden's Mail or an early Bramble Vest. Stacking these physical mitigation components renders her auto-attacks entirely toothless.

The second Quinn reaches level 6, her macro pattern shifts entirely toward global map pressure. Using the hyper-speed flight from Behind Enemy Lines, she will clear out a wave and immediately fly toward your mid-laner or jungler to engineer numbers-advantage skirmishes.

Do not waste your time trying to run across the map to mirror her flight paths; she is simply too fast. Instead, aggressively punish her map absence.

The second she flies away, activate your immolate clearing power from Sunfire Aegis, shove your minion waves straight into her tier-one tower, and use your heavy health-scaling Demolish procs to rip her structural plates down. By pinning her to the lane with the threat of losing her entire base configuration, you completely force her to choose between making a risky map play or losing massive gold and map control in her home lane.

Renekton, the Butcher of the Sands
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Reign of Anger passive fury tracking, Cull the Meek Q spin heal, Ruthless Predator W multi-strike stun, Slice and Dice E double dash
This matchup is a massive relief compared to other early-game lane bullies. While Renekton is historically feared for his ability to aggressively stomp lanes and snowball leads, his entire core skirmish loop falls completely flat against Dr. Mundo. You naturally out-scale him, out-sustain him.

Correcting the difficulty rating: This is an Easy matchup (2/5), not a Hard one (4/5). Renekton's entire lane dominance is gated by his ability to lock down targets and execute short, un-retaliable burst trades. Because your kit completely turns off his crowd control, he lacks the raw sustained DPS to punch through your health pool.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely breaks his primary combo. Renekton's standard trading pattern is explicitly formulaic: dash in with Slice and Dice (E), lock you down with a heavy stun from Ruthless Predator (W), spin with Cull the Meek (Q) for damage and healing, and dash back out to safety.

The exact millisecond he uses his W to stun you, your passive engine will completely absorb it. Instead of being frozen in place, you are completely free to act. Because his W animation has a self-lock frame, he will be stuck spinning his blades while you immediately slap a point-blank Infected Bonesaw onto his face and use Blunt Force Trauma to aggressively beat him down as he tries to run away.

Your main tactical focus in lane is tracking his resource bar, Reign of Anger. He generates Fury by basic attacking and hitting abilities. When he crosses above 50 Fury, his next basic ability becomes heavily empowered, dealing increased damage and gaining bonus stats. Never contest a tight choke point when his Fury bar is glowing red. An empowered Q will grant him a massive burst of healing, and an empowered W will instantly shred any shields you have.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind handles his basic Q poke and minion-wave chip damage effortlessly.

Because his entire kit scales through pure physical damage and raw healing, your itemization completely neutralizes his presence.

Rushing an early Bramble Vest alongside your Plated Steelcaps completely shuts down his lane pressure. The armor mitigates his physical dashes and multi-strike auto combos, while the passive Grievous Wounds application completely guts the healing values from his Cull the Meek (Q). Once you complete your Heartsteel, you can easily trade grasp procs with him every time he steps up to form a rage stack.

Be mindful of his Level 6 threshold. When he triggers his ultimate, Dominus, he instantly gains a large chunk of bonus health, generates passive Fury every second, and deals magic damage to nearby enemies.

If he activates his ultimate to try and force an all-in, do not panic. Simply pop Maximum Dosage to match his raw health buffer, throw an Infected Bonesaw to slow his movement speed, and comfortably space yourself backward until his transformation storm concludes.

In mid-to-late game macro scenarios, Renekton suffers from intense scaling fall-off. He becomes a classic "flank-or-useless" champion who struggles to do anything in front-to-back teamfights if he cannot access squishy carries.

Your structural job is to simply stay glued to him in the side lanes. Match his wave clear using Sunfire Aegis, completely deny his ability to split-push, and use your superior health scaling to chip away at his towers with Demolish. In teamfights, just stand as a massive physical barrier between him and your backline carries—without his stun to open up picking windows, he will quickly be kited out and melted down.

Riven, the Exile
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Warden's Mail -> Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Broken Wings Q triple strike, Ki Burst W instant stun, Valor E dash shield, Blade of the Exile R AD steroid & Wind Slash execute
This is a high stakes matchup that tilts heavily in your favor as long as you play safely and scale. While Riven is an elite, hyper-mobile skirmisher designed to abuse immobile champions with brief crowd control bursts, her kill windows disappear entirely once Dr. Mundo accumulates fundamental physical armor.

Correcting the difficulty baseline: This sits at a Medium difficulty (3/5), not a Hard/Extreme one (4.5/5). Riven relies entirely on micro-stunning her targets to execute flawless Fast-Q animation cancels without taking return damage. Your innate CC immunity mechanics completely disrupt her fluid combo sequencing.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases acts as an absolute counter-weight to her engagement patterns. Riven’s trading loops rely on staggering her third Q cast, Broken Wings, or using Ki Burst (W) to interrupt your basic attacks.

The exact frame she snaps an instant stun or airborne knockup onto you, your passive engine absorbs the entire crowd control profile. This drops your health canister, enabling you to step over it for a quick heal while she locks herself down in aggressive animation frames. Use this predictable window to slam an Infected Bonesaw directly into her hitbox and beat her down with Blunt Force Trauma.

Be incredibly analytical of her cooldown resource management. Riven does not use mana; she is entirely gated by raw cooldown timers. Never walk past the midpoint of the lane if she has all of her mobility spells up. If she wastes her Q charges to manipulate a minion wave, that is your primary cue to play aggressively and fish for heavy, un-retaliable trading windows.

Exercise immense caution around her Level 6 combat threshold. When she activates Blade of the Exile (R), her weapon gains massive attack range, amplified physical damage ratios, and access to Wind Slash—a wide, sweeping cone execution projectile that deals triple damage based on your missing health pool.

If she flashes forward with her ultimate activated, do not panic. Pop Maximum Dosage immediately to spike your baseline health buffer, use an Infected Bonesaw to slow her tracking path, and simply space backward toward your tower line until her ultimate timer ticks down.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind handles her early physical passive auto-attack harassment effortlessly.

Because her layout features pure physical scaling and high raw physical damage, early armor elements remove her snowball potential completely.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps followed by an immediate Bramble Vest completely suffocates her lane pressure. The boots cut flat basic attack chunks from her passive Runic Blade, while the Grievous Wounds from your Bramble Vest completely ruins the health sustain she gets from running standard runes like Conqueror or buying items like Eclipse or Ravenous Hydra.

In mid-to-late game macro scenarios, Riven operates as an isolated side-lane dueler or a dedicated flanker looking to surprise your backline carries. She cannot comfortably match your dedicated split-push tempo once you have Heartsteel and Sunfire Aegis.

Keep the side lanes shoved out to trap her under her base structures, and chip away at her defenses using high-health Demolish procs. In large teamfights, simply serve as a giant meat-shield. Position your massive physical model right in front of her entry lines; without her crowd control to lock down your backline, she will quickly be kited out and blown up by your marksman carries.

Rumble, the Mechanized Menave
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Kaenic Rookern, Force of Nature, Sunfire Aegis
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Junkyard Titan passive heat zones, Flamespitter Q danger zone burn, Electro-Harpoon E MR-shredding tethers, The Equalizer R zoning carpet bomb
This is a high-pressure magic damage attrition lane that demands rigorous spacing discipline. Rumble is a premier early-to-mid game bully who thrives on melting down frontliners with continuous magic damage over time. Because his baseline damage output is incredibly high from level 1, navigating the early waves requires patience before your scaling tools come online.

His primary laning pressure stems from chaining Electro-Harpoon (E) into Flamespitter (Q). He will fish for linear harpoon skillshots to slow your movement speed and melt your magic resistance, allowing him to easily run alongside you with his flame stream. Always weave directly behind your minion wave to block his harpoons. If he misses his E tethers, his capacity to cleanly kite and space his flame cone against you drops drastically.

Correcting a major kit dynamic for Dr. Mundo: Rumble has ZERO hard crowd control. This means your passive Goes Where He Pleases will never trigger or drop a canister during standard lane trades, as his kit only features slows. Do not rely on your passive to bail you out or provide emergency healing here; you must rely entirely on manual positioning and raw sustain items.

Your main analytical focus must be entirely locked onto his resource bar, Junkyard Titan. When his heat crosses above 50%, he enters the Danger Zone, causing his basic abilities to gain 50% amplified damage. Never walk up for a melee trade if he is sitting in the Danger Zone with Flamespitter ticking. If he hits 100% heat, he becomes silenced but gains massive attack speed and magic damage on his basic attacks. If he overbeats while his Q is already running, his melee damage is absolutely lethal—space away immediately.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is your absolute baseline requirement to withstand his persistent fire ticks.

Because his entire kit deals sustained, high-ratio magic damage, stacking early magic resistance instantly neutralizes his kill threat.

Rushing Mercury's Treads on your first recall is highly recommended to shrug off his harpoon slows. Follow this immediately with Hollow Radiance. The magic resistance completely dampens his fire streams, while the automated Immolate wave-clear lets you instantly clear out minion waves from a distance without standing inside his Flamespitter zone to auto-attack. Once you finish a major MR piece, you can safely accumulate your Heartsteel stacks.

In mid-game teamfights, Rumble relies heavily on his ultimate, The Equalizer, to completely take over objective choke points. A well-placed rocket carpet bomb will slow and melt an entire team formation if they stand inside the flaming trail.

Your structural job in teamfights is to deny him high-value ultimate zones. Pop Maximum Dosage to gain an enormous health buffer and high movement speed, and aggressively march directly through his ultimate trail to zone him away from the fight. Because Rumble scales as an AP bruiser with items like Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker, he builds a lot of bonus health but lacks true resistances. Use your continuous Infected Bonesaw cleavers to slow his mech down, letting your backline carries easily burn through his health pool.

Furthermore, you completely control the side-lane macro game. Rumble wants to group constantly to drop game-winning ultimates; he cannot comfortably sit in a side lane against a scaling titan. Keep the waves permanently shoved to trap him under his base towers, and systematically destroy his structures using high-health Demolish procs whenever he tries to leave lane.

Sett, the Boss
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Warden's Mail -> Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Pit Grit passive left-right punch pacing, Knuckle Down Q auto-reset, Haymaker W grit true damage blast, Facebreaker E stun positioning, The Show Stopper R percent-health tank slam

This is a high-danger, punishing lane that requires absolute restraint. Sett is a premier juggernaut designed explicitly to dismantle high-health frontline champions. You will completely lose standard laning duels and extended brawls against him, making early game discipline and precise kiting absolutely mandatory to survive.

His primary dueling engine stems from his passive, Pit Grit. This passive grants him lightning-fast left-and-right basic attack sequences and innate health regeneration that increases the lower his health drops. Combined with the auto-attack resets on Knuckle Down (Q), Sett can fully stack runes like Conqueror in a matter of seconds. Never commit to extended melee auto-attack trades with him. He will out-pace and overpower your baseline DPS every single time.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely neutralizes his early kill setups. Sett relies heavily on catching you with Facebreaker (E) to pull you into melee range, or stunning you if he targets units on both sides of his position.

The exact frame his grab snaps onto you, your passive engine will completely absorb the displacement or stun. Collect your dropped health canister immediately, throw an Infected Bonesaw directly into his face to slow his pursuit, and easily walk backward to safety while his hook tool sits on a long cooldown.

Be incredibly analytical of his resource tracking during short trades. As Sett takes damage, his Grit resource bar fills up. When he triggers Haymaker (W), he expends that Grit to gain a massive decaying health shield and unleash a giant physical punch. You must step completely out of the center line of his W flare. The center track converts the physical strike into pure True Damage that completely bypasses your physical armor stacking.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is necessary to counter his passive health regeneration advantages.

Because his baseline trading loops rely heavily on basic attacks and physical damage scaling, stacking flat mitigation components strips away his early lane pressure.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps paired instantly with a Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail is highly recommended. The flat armor scales directly against his physical ratios, while the passive attack speed reduction or Grievous Wounds keeps his sustained trades from running completely out of control. Use your maximum-range Infected Bonesaw to safely claim your minion last-hits and chip away at his health bar from total safety.

Be intensely respectful of his Level 6 ultimate threshold, The Show Stopper. Sett can grab your character model and slam you directly into the ground, dealing massive physical damage to surrounding targets that scales directly off of your total bonus maximum health pool.

As a champion who naturally stacks massive health pools, walking directly into your team formation during a teamfight is a major trap. Do not group up tightly with your backline carriers. If you position yourself directly between Sett and your squishy allies, he will use your massive health bar as a literal human missile to completely one-shot your teammates upon impact.

Your mid-to-late game macro role is to use your long-range tools to neuter his teamfight access. Sett completely lacks natural mobility dashes outside of his minor Q movement speed burst.

Stand off to the side angles of your team, and continuously throw Infected Bonesaw cleavers to keep his movement permanently slowed. Use your crowd-control tools to disrupt his approach paths without ever allowing him to get inside close-quarters flash-E distance. If his ultimate is down, his primary team-wide engagement window disappears entirely, giving you a massive tactical advantage to control the neutral objectives.

Shen, Eye of Twilight
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps / Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Sunfire Aegis, Kaenic Rookern
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Ki Barrier passive shield, Twilight Assault Q sword-drag placement, Spirit's Refuge W basic attack block, Shadow Dash E taunt line, Stand United R global shield channel
This is a heavily macro-dependent, low-danger lane that shifts entirely in your favor past the early levels. While Shen is a potent early-game warden who boasts some of the strongest short trading patterns among top-lane tanks, his actual kill pressure against you completely evaporates because your kit invalidates his primary offensive engagement.

His absolute strongest trading window occurs between levels 1 and 5. Shen relies entirely on navigating his floating spirit blade using Twilight Assault (Q) to drag it directly through your character model. If the blade passes through you, it grants him massive attack speed and spikes his next three basic attacks to deal heavy percent-health magic damage. Always track the physical location of his floating sword line. Do not stand directly between Shen and his blade; if he pulls a normal Q that doesn't pass through you, his early damage values drop substantially.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely dismantles his standard short-trade formula. Shen’s entire laning threat relies on landing a clean Shadow Dash (E) to taunt you into place, allowing him to easily reposition his sword for an empowered Q strike while preventing you from walking away.

The exact millisecond his dash intersects your hitbox, your passive engine will completely absorb the taunt effect. Instead of being locked down, you are entirely free to act. Simply step over your dropped health canister for an instant heal, throw a point-blank Infected Bonesaw directly into his face to slow him down, and use your attack steroids to force an extended trade while his high-cooldown dash is completely gone.

Be highly analytical of his defensive field, Spirit's Refuge (W). Shen can create a small spiritual zone around his sword that completely blocks all incoming basic attacks for a brief duration. Stop auto-attacking entirely when his W zone is glowing active. Do not waste your basic attacks or your Grasp of the Undying procs into his blocking field; simply use that exact window to throw a magic-damage Infected Bonesaw or step backward until the zone naturally dissipates.

Locking in Doran's Shield paired immediately with Second Wind handles his early Q percent-health magic chips completely.

Because Shen naturally deals a unique hybrid mix of magic basic attacks and physical taunts, rushing Hollow Radiance or an early Sunfire Aegis is exceptionally rewarding. The early defensive stats dampen his hybrid outputs perfectly. More importantly, Shen suffers from notoriously poor natural wave clear on his own. By locking in an Immolate component, you gain massive wave-management advantages, allowing you to easily shove minion waves directly into his structure while he scrambles to last-hit under tower.

The second Shen unlocks level 6, his map-wide global presence becomes his ultimate focus. Using Stand United (R), he can channel a massive, scaling health shield onto a struggling teammate anywhere across the map before teleporting directly to their side to turn a skirmish around.

While you lack a hard crowd-control ability to manually interrupt his ultimate channel, you hold an absolute macro advantage by punishing his absences.

The exact moment he triggers his ultimate to fly away, ignore the map entirely. Activate your wave-clear tools to instantly crash your minions into his sector, and use your heavy health-scaling Demolish procs to melt his tier-one and tier-two tower plates. By forcing a personal gold lead via structures and keeping him permanently pinned to his lane under threat of losing his entire base configuration, you completely neutralize his utility. If he roams, you take his base; if he stays, he is out-scaled by a massive scaling titan.

Singed, Mad Chemist
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Boots of Swiftness / Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Force of Nature, Kaenic Rookern
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Poison Trail Q chemical trail, Mega Adhesive W grounding puddle, Fling E over-the-shoulder flip, Insanity Potion R stat-steroid cocktail
This is an incredibly relaxing, low-stress scaling lane that feels like a free pass to standard item spikes. Singed is a classic macro-disruptor and proxy anti-carry who detests direct lane combat. Because his kit completely lacks the raw damage profile or lane lane-dominance to contest a dedicated juggernaut, you can match his macro pressure effortlessly while free-farming your passive stacks.

His entire laning objective centers on running through wave chokepoints with Poison Trail (Q) active to clear waves and bypass active lane interaction. Rule number one of League of Legends always applies: Never blindly chase Singed. Walking directly behind his character model means swallowing continuous ticks of magic damage over time. Instead, simply throw max-range Infected Bonesaw cleavers to slow his speed and farm the lane from total safety.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely shuts down his primary self-defense and displacement combo. Singed relies on running up to you and using Fling (E) to toss you directly over his shoulder into his poison cloud or under his tower structure.

The exact millisecond his hands touch your model, your passive engine will completely absorb the displacement. Instead of flying through the air, you remain perfectly planted on your feet. Collect your dropped health canister immediately, activate Blunt Force Trauma, and brutally punish his close-quarters vulnerability with point-blank cleavers while he tries to scurry back to safety.

Be incredibly mindful of his grounding field, Mega Adhesive (W). He can drop a sticky green puddle that completely prevents you from using movement abilities. More importantly, if he manages to land a Fling (E) that launches you directly into his active W puddle, you will be rooted in place instantly. Even though your passive will absorb the initial flip, if you are forced to stand in the sticky glue, your general mobility drops to zero.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind completely neutralizes his early poison trail ticks.

Because his entire kit scales through sustained magic damage over time, stacking magic resistance makes you completely unkillable.

Rushing Boots of Swiftness on your first base is an excellent strategy. The unique passive reduces the intensity of his rylai's crystal scepter slows, letting you walk out of his poison streams easily. Follow this instantly with Hollow Radiance. The high magic resistance shuts down his damage, while the explosive automated wave-clear lets you match his push pace without dropping a single minion to his proxy attempts. Once your MR base is established, you can safely build your Heartsteel stacks off his giant hit-box whenever he steps up.

Be aware of his Level 6 ultimate spike, Insanity Potion (R). Singed drinks a chemical cocktail that grants him flat armor, magic resistance, ability power, movement speed, and health/mana regeneration for a lengthy duration.

If he pops his ultimate and tries to aggressively run you down, do not panic. Simply slow his movement path with an Infected Bonesaw, activate Maximum Dosage if your health dips, and safely coast backward. He cannot burst you down; he wants you to waste your cooldowns while his combat stats are artificially boosted.

In mid-to-late game macro situations, Singed wants to trigger chaotic teamfights, flip carries, and run through entire teams causing map disruption. However, he completely lacks the tower damage to contest a split-pusher.

Keep your side lanes permanently shoved into his structures using Hollow Radiance and Sunfire Aegis. If he ever abandons the side lane to try and force a cross-map play with his team, punish him instantly by tearing down his bases with massive Demolish procs. If he stays to match you, he is trapped in an isolated side-lane where his teamfight utility is completely wasted.

Tahm Kench, the River King
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Kaenic Rookern
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: An Acquired Taste passive fish stacks, Tongue Lash Q long-range lick, Abyssal Dive W knockup leap, Thick Skin E grey health shield, Devour R suppression swallow
This is an intense, high-attrition tank mirror match that will severely test your spacing and minion wave mechanics. Tahm Kench possesses an exceptionally lethal early laning phase. Because his baseline basic attacks and abilities scale entirely off his bonus health pool, he functions as a terrifying magic-damage duelist who can effortlessly punish careless mistakes.

His core laning pressure revolves completely around his linear skillshot, Tongue Lash (Q). This ability has a deceitfully long range, applies a heavy decaying slow, heals him based on his missing health, and procs Grasp of the Undying. You must treat your minion wave as a permanent physical shield. Never walk out into open water where he has a clear line of sight to throw a Q; hide behind your minions to force his licks to collide with them instead.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases is an absolute lifesaver in this lane, completely turning his tier-one crowd control setups against him. Tahm Kench wants to aggressively stack his passive, An Acquired Taste, using three basic attacks or Q hits. Once you have three red fish icons floating around your model, his next Tongue Lash (Q) will completely stun you instead of slowing you.

The exact millisecond his 3-stack stun or his airborne Abyssal Dive (W) makes contact with your character, your passive engine will completely consume the crowd control effect. Instead of being locked down or knocked into the sky, you remain completely free to move. Instantly grab your dropped health canister for an immediate heal, slam an Infected Bonesaw point-blank into his massive frog hitbox, and use Blunt Force Trauma to trade back heavy damage while his primary engagement spells sit on cooldown.

Be incredibly mindful of your passive's status before choosing to step up. If your passive is on cooldown and you have 3 stacks of An Acquired Taste, you are in extreme danger. If he connects a point-blank Q stun while your engine is down, he can instantly transition into Devour (R), swallowing you whole into his belly. He will walk you backward into his minion wave or directly under his defensive tower, spitting you out for astronomical magic damage.

Locking in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind is your mandatory baseline setup to survive his persistent magic poke.

Because his entire kit deals high-sustained magic damage, rushing Magic Resistance completely devalues his solo kill threat.

Rushing Mercury's Treads paired directly with an early Bramble Vest is incredibly effective. The boots cut down the duration of his baseline slows, while the Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds the moment he tries to auto-attack you, completely gutting the healing values on his Q.

Follow this immediately with Hollow Radiance. The high magic resistance isolates his damage output perfectly, while the automated Immolate passive grants you vastly superior wave clear. Tahm Kench has an atrocious time trying to clear waves under his own tower; by keeping him permanently shoved in, you completely neutralize his lane presence. Once your MR foundation is secure, you can freely farm Heartsteel stacks off his massive model.

In mid-to-late game teamfights and side-lane macro scenarios, you completely out-value him. Tahm Kench wants to look for isolated 2v1 skirmishes or peel for his specific backline carries using his Devour protection.

Keep the side lanes permanently extended to clamp him under his base walls. If he ever tries to abandon the lane to walk toward a teamfight, use your heavy health-scaling Demolish procs to quickly rip his base structures down. In large front-to-back teamfights, act as an unbreakable magical wall. Place your massive model directly in his pathing lines; without a clear angle to access your carries, the River King will find himself entirely washed out.

Teemo, the Swift Scout
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Kaenic Rookern, Force of Nature
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Guerrilla Warfare passive ambush attack speed, Blinding Dart Q blind projectile, Move Quick W passive/active MS, Toxic Shot E poison ticks, Noxious Trap R mushroom landmines
While this lane looks absolutely miserable on paper, it is actually a massive relief once you understand how hard your kit systematically breaks his game plan. Teemo is a notorious ranged lane bully who thrives on making basic-attack reliant melee champions completely useless. However, because your primary trading tool does not care about blinds, you can comfortably turn this into an easy, passive scaling farm fest.

Correcting the difficulty rating: This is an Easy/Medium matchup (2/5), not a Hard one (3.5/5). Teemo’s entire defensive identity revolves around using Blinding Dart (Q) to make melee champions miss their auto-attacks. Since your primary damage, poke, and safety originate entirely from your long-range skillshots, his iconic blind property is rendered completely useless against you.

His early game gameplan is simple: look to poke and whittle you down with continuous basic attacks empowered by Toxic Shot (E) poison ticks. Never greedily walk up to standard melee last-hit a minion if it costs you 30% of your health bar. Instead, completely yield the early push, sit safely behind your caster minions, and use the maximum range of Infected Bonesaw to cleanly farm and preserve your health.

Correcting a major kit dynamic for Dr. Mundo: Teemo has ZERO hard crowd control. Blinds and slows do not count as airborne, displacements, stuns, or roots. This means your passive Goes Where He Pleases will never trigger or drop a canister during this lane. Do not rely on your passive engine to bail you out; you must rely entirely on your itemization and manual positioning.

Locking in Doran's Shield paired instantly with Second Wind handles his early poison ticks effortlessly. The continuous damage over time from his E will constantly refresh the healing passives of your shield and rune, meaning he practically heals you back a large percentage of the damage he inflicts.

Because his entire kit features sustained and burst magic damage, stacking early magic resistance completely removes his threat.

Rushing Mercury's Treads on your first recall is highly recommended to shrug off mushroom slows, followed immediately by Hollow Radiance. The high magic resistance isolates his damage completely, while the automated Immolate wave-clear allows you to instantly delete minion waves without standing near him. Once you complete your MR base, you can comfortably look to throw an Infected Bonesaw to slow him, turn on Blunt Force Trauma, and run him down to farm free Heartsteel stacks on his tiny hitbox whenever his Q is on cooldown.

The absolute second he turns level 6, the map turns into a hazardous minefield due to Noxious Trap (R). Teemo will toss invisible mushrooms along the lane bushes, choke points, and minion paths that detonate for heavy magic damage over time and an intense slow.

To counter his map control, swap your trinket to an Oracle Lens immediately upon hitting level 6. When moving through bushes or chasing, activate your sweepers to reveal his traps. If you accidentally trigger a mushroom, do not panic. Simply pop Maximum Dosage to gain an enormous health buffer and high movement speed, clearing out the poison duration effortlessly while you walk back to safety.

In mid-to-late game macro scenarios, Teemo completely fails as a side-lane duelist against a scaling tank. He lacks the wave-clear and the structural damage to match your split-push presence once you have your items.

Keep the side lanes permanently shoved out to trap him under his base structures, and use high-health Demolish procs to systematically rip his towers apart. In teamfights, Teemo is incredibly squishy and vulnerable to getting caught out. Simply activate your Oracle Lens, stand at the front of your team formation as a massive magical shield, and continuously throw cleavers to slow him down so your carries can easily pop him.

Trundle, the Troll King
Overall difficulty: 5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: King's Tribute passive sustain, Chomp Q attack-stealing bite, Frozen Domain W healing/AS steroid, Pillar of Ice E terrain displacement, Subjugate R tank-shredding execute
This is a hard-counter, high-stress lane that demands absolute defensive optimization. Trundle is a specialist duelist specifically designed to dismantle tanks. He gains free stats from your defensive profiles, shreds your armor, and sustains through almost any amount of poke damage you can throw at him.

His primary laning pressure comes from Chomp (Q), which allows him to steal a portion of your attack damage while simultaneously slowing your movement. In any prolonged trade, he will mathematically out-trade your auto-attacks while healing back his own health through King's Tribute (passive) and Frozen Domain (W). Never engage in extended melee duels. He is a king of the 1v1, and you simply cannot match his scaling combat stats.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases is your only true defensive buffer against his pillar-based gank setups. Trundle players frequently use Pillar of Ice (E) to create terrain, force you into a suboptimal path, or interrupt your ability channels.

If he attempts to pillar you to set up a gank or a dash-interrupt, your passive will likely trigger to soak the displacement. Collect your health canister, and use the moment of freedom to immediately retreat toward your tower line. Do not try to retaliate while his W is active under his feet.

Be extremely analytical of his ultimate, Subjugate (R). This ability is specifically calibrated to delete frontliners. It steals a massive percentage of your max health, armor, and magic resistance, turning you into a squishy target while he becomes an unkillable monster. Because he steals your armor, your physical damage mitigation effectively disappears during the fight. If he hits you with this, back off immediately; you are at your absolute weakest state for the next several seconds.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind helps absorb his early Q harass, but will not win you the lane.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps is non-negotiable to mitigate his auto-attack damage, followed immediately by a Bramble Vest. You need the Grievous Wounds to minimize his insane sustain from Frozen Domain (W) and his passive.

In macro scenarios, Trundle is an elite tower-taker. If you choose to roam to a teamfight, he will instantly punish you by deleting your towers. Your only path to parity is through superior wave management. Use your abilities to keep the waves positioned near your tower, denying him the safe space to push.

In teamfights, never allow him to lead with his ultimate on you. If you are the primary frontline, position carefully and try to force the fight away from him, or peel your backline so he cannot easily access them. He cannot match your teamfight utility, so use your crowd control to keep him locked down or slowed while your team focuses him from range.

Tryndamere, the Barbarian King
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Warden's Mail -> Randuin's Omen, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Thornmail
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Battle Fury passive crit, Bloodlust Q healing, Mocking Shout W AD-reduction, Spinning Slash E gap closer, Undying Rage R immortality
This is a manageable scaling matchup where your massive defensive profile eventually renders his damage negligible. Tryndamere is a hyper-scaling melee ADC who thrives on RNG-based early game critical strikes and persistent side-lane pressure. Because his combat pattern is entirely reliant on auto-attacks, you can easily neutralize him through targeted defensive itemization.

The most dangerous part of this lane is his "crit roulette" at level 1-2. If he builds up fury on the wave and happens to land two or three early crits, he can burn your flash or force a kill. Never trade into a high-fury Tryndamere early on. Play respectfully, stay behind your minions, and wait for his fury bar to decay or for your own armor spikes to come online.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases is excellent for surviving his aggressive kill attempts. If he forces a long trade and tries to use Spinning Slash (E) to stick to you, you can punish him by dropping a point-blank Infected Bonesaw or using your steroids to trade back. If he forces a tower dive at level 6, hold your cooldowns until his Undying Rage (R) is about to expire, then apply heavy crowd control to ensure he dies the moment his immortality drops.

Be extremely wary of Mocking Shout (W). If you are running away from him, he can trigger this to massively reduce your attack damage, making it impossible to fight back effectively. Only turn to trade if your health is healthy and you aren't currently AD-debuffed.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind helps you stay healthy through his early skirmish attempts.

Because Tryndamere deals almost exclusively physical, auto-attack based damage, your itemization path is straightforward. Rushing Plated Steelcaps and an early Warden's Mail is the highest value strategy. Warden's Mail specifically reduces the damage of his basic attacks, while Randuin's Omen (the finished item) provides a massive active slow and crit damage reduction—the ultimate hard counter to his kit.

Follow this with Sunfire Aegis or Heartsteel to maintain your scaling threat. If he opts into items like Blade of the Ruined King to chew through your health, buy a Thornmail to apply Grievous Wounds and mitigate his self-sustain from Bloodlust (Q).

Tryndamere’s main goal is to split-push and draw multiple enemies to the side lane. He cannot kill you in a 1v1 once you have Randuin's Omen, but he will slowly chip away at your structures.

You have a massive advantage in teamfights. While he is forced to run at your backline or try to split, you can engage on his team with your superior crowd control and tankiness. If he stays in the side lane, match his push but do not overextend; if he tries to roam, ping his location and use your team-wide utility to force fights where he is absent. You offer significantly more protection for your carries than he can ever offer his own team.

Urgot, the Dreadnought
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Echoing Flames passive shotgun knees, Corrosive Charge Q slow/lock-on, Purge W rapid-fire toggle, Disdain E dash/shield/flip, Fear Beyond Death R execution pull
This is a technical, spacing-oriented lane that favors a patient, defensive approach. Urgot is a ranged juggernaut designed to bully melee champions through relentless area-of-effect damage. While his early game level 1 spike is notoriously dangerous, your kit provides the necessary tools to navigate his threats safely.

His primary dueling mechanic involves his shotgun knees, Echoing Flames (passive). Each leg has an individual cooldown, and he deals massive damage whenever he rotates around you to proc them. Never stand still in a duel against him. If you commit to a trade, always try to stand on the side of his model where his knees are currently on cooldown.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases is your most powerful tool against his primary engage, Disdain (E). Urgot players almost always look to land this dash-and-flip combo to force you into his rapid-fire Purge (W) range.

When his dash connects with you, your passive will likely trigger to soak the displacement. Instead of being flipped into his damage, you remain mobile. Instantly collect your health canister for a sustain boost, fire a Infected Bonesaw to slow his movement, and back away while his dash is on a long cooldown.

Be incredibly analytical of his Level 9 powerspike. Once he hits level 9, Purge (W) becomes a permanent toggle with no cooldown. He gains the ability to permanently output damage while moving, making him a major threat in both 1v1 duels and side-lane tower sieging.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is essential to survive his early harass and Q/W poke.

Because Urgot builds items like Black Cleaver and Eclipse to shred through tanks, stacking raw armor is not enough. You must prioritize items that actively reduce his effectiveness. Plated Steelcaps and Bramble Vest are mandatory early components; the steel-plated boots reduce his auto-attack damage, while the Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds, hindering his durability and sustainability in trades.

Follow this with Sunfire Aegis or Heartsteel. The Immolate passive from Sunfire allows you to clear waves and contest his push without needing to stand in his range. If you feel he is becoming a threat, transition into Randuin's Omen to mitigate his massive damage output.

His ultimate, Fear Beyond Death (R), is a terrifying execution tool. If he hits you with his drill and pulls you toward him when you are below a certain health threshold, you are instantly executed. Never stay in lane with low health if his ultimate is available. If he successfully lands the drill, do not try to out-duel him; move immediately toward your tower or use your own movement speed buffs to survive the pull duration.

In the mid-to-late game, Urgot often builds items like Hullbreaker to accelerate his side-lane pressure. If he forces a split-push, do not try to solo-duel him if he has a significant item advantage, as his percentage-health damage will eventually wear you down.

Instead, focus on using your superior wave-clear to keep the lanes pushed and minimize his impact. In teamfights, act as a frontline buffer for your team; your ability to soak damage and control space makes it difficult for him to reach your backline carriers.

Vayne, the Night Hunter
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Randuin's Omen, Heartsteel, Hollow Radiance
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Night Hunter passive move speed, Tumble Q reposition/auto-reset, Silver Bolts W %max HP true damage, Condemn E knockback/stun, Final Hour R stealth-dash invisibility
This is a brutal lane that serves as a hard-counter to your identity as a health-stacking tank. Vayne is specifically equipped with Silver Bolts (W), which deals percent-maximum health true damage every third attack, completely ignoring your armor and health stacks. She is a lane-bully designed to kite you relentlessly.

Correcting the itemization advice: Avoid building lethality items like Youmuu's Ghostblade or Hubris against her. As an immobile tank, you will never successfully "assassinate" a mobile ADC like Vayne in a sidelane. If you fall behind or try to force glass-cannon builds, she will simply execute you with her true damage and utility. You must build to survive her kite.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases is essential for surviving her Condemn (E). Vayne looks to knock you into walls to stun you; if she lands this, she will proc Silver Bolts and potentially kill you. If your passive absorbs the stun, use that momentary freedom to turn and force her to use Tumble (Q).

Locking in Doran's Shield and Second Wind is your only way to mitigate the constant poke. Do not look for kills; look for safety. Take the CS that doesn't cost you 20% of your HP.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps is absolutely non-negotiable to reduce her auto-attack damage. Follow this with Randuin's Omen. The active slow is critical for catching her, and the passive specifically reduces the damage she deals with her critical strikes. Thornmail is also mandatory to stop her healing from Blade of the Ruined King.

Her Level 6 powerspike, Final Hour (R), gives her stealth on every Tumble (Q). This makes her impossible to target or lock down with point-and-click abilities. Do not try to engage her while she is invisible in her ultimate state. Save your crowd control for when she is forced to reveal herself to auto-attack.

Your path to victory is macro-based. Vayne top-lane struggles with wave-clear and objective control. She provides no utility to her team compared to your massive teamfight presence.

Keep the lane frozen near your tower so she cannot easily harass you without overextending. If she roams, shove the wave into her tower and use Demolish to punish her absence. In teamfights, you are a superior asset; even if Vayne is fed, she has no wave-clear to stop you from pushing her side-lanes, and she is extremely vulnerable to being engaged upon by the rest of your team. Accept that you are the punching bag in lane, play for the teamfight scale, and force her to play a game of defense she isn't built to handle.

Volibear, the Relentless Storm
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Hollow Radiance, Heartsteel, Kaenic Rookern
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: The Relentless Storm passive chain lightning, Thundering Smash Q speed/stun, Frenzied Maul W healing/mark, Sky Splitter E shield/damage, Stormbringer R tower disable/leap
Volibear is a high-pressure lane bully who excels in short, explosive trades and tower-dive setups. He wants to force you into early skirmishes where he can maximize his healing through Frenzied Maul (W). Because his kit provides significant early-game burst and stickiness, you must prioritize defensive positioning to survive his laning phase.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases is essential against his Thundering Smash (Q). When he engages with this, he intends to stun you and lead into his E-W combo. If his Q stun hits you, your passive will consume the CC effect, allowing you to sidestep the incoming Sky Splitter (E) strike. Use the movement speed from your passive canister to retreat immediately before he can land a second Frenzied Maul (W) mark.

Be extremely mindful of his Sky Splitter (E). This ability is often cast alongside his Q-stun to guarantee the damage and shielding. If you see him cast his E, do not stand your ground; disengage immediately. The shield he gains makes trading into him during this window mathematically disadvantageous.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is your baseline setup to survive his early-lane poke and trade-patterns.

Rushing Plated Steelcaps is critical to mitigate the damage from his auto-attacks and Q. Follow this with a Bramble Vest. Volibear relies heavily on his W sustain for extended lane presence; applying Grievous Wounds is mandatory to turn his aggressive sustain-heavy duels into trades you can actually win.

Transition this into Hollow Radiance or Sunfire Aegis. These items match his wave-clear speed and provide the stats needed to survive his hybrid damage profile. Once you complete your base tankiness, you can safely look to stack Heartsteel whenever his primary cooldowns are burned.

His Level 6 powerspike, Stormbringer (R), makes him a terrifying tower diver. He can completely disable your turret, jump into your range, and execute you with his full combo. If you are low health, assume the tower is not a safe zone. If he commits with his ultimate, save your movement speed steroids and CC to kite him around the turret until his ultimate duration expires.

In the mid-to-late game, Volibear's effectiveness is tied to his ability to reach your carries. As long as you remain a massive, unmovable wall at the front, he will struggle to find a clean path to your backline. Focus on peeling for your team and using your crowd control to keep him locked down in teamfights.

Warwick, the Uncaged Wrath of Zaun
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Eternal Hunger passive on-hit heal, Jaws of the Beast Q follow-latch, Blood Hunt W blood trails/AS, Primal Howl E damage reduction/fear, Infinite Duress R suppression leap
This is an incredibly deceptive, high-danger lane that strictly punishes aggression. Warwick is a premium early-game duelist whose entire identity thrives on baiting you into fighting him when he is low on health. Because his sustain increases exponentially the closer he gets to death, extended melee skirmishes are mathematically fatal for you.

The absolute golden rule of this matchup: Never greed for a low-health execute. Through Eternal Hunger (passive) and Jaws of the Beast (Q), Warwick heals for massive amounts when his health falls below 50%, and triples that healing when below 25%. Combined with the common Top-lane Warwick strategy of running Summoner Spell Barrier, he will happily let you get him low just to pop a massive shield, gain 250% attack speed from Blood Hunt (W), and completely turn the duel around.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases is your primary defensive safety net against his hard lockdown setups. Warwick’s key engagement patterns rely on using Primal Howl (E) to fear you or his ultimate Infinite Duress (R) to suppress you.

The second his E pop or his long-range ultimate leap connects with your character model, your passive engine will completely consume the crowd control effect. Instead of being suppressed or forced to run away in a fear state, you remain fully in control. Immediately collect your dropped canister for an instant burst of healing, fire a point-blank Infected Bonesaw to completely cripple his movement speed, and walk away toward the safety of your tower lines.

Be incredibly mindful of his Jaws of the Beast (Q) latching mechanic. If Warwick holds down the Q key, he locks onto your model, swings around to your back, and becomes completely immune to displacements. He will frequently use this to predict and completely follow your Flash or movement abilities. Never use your escapes while he is actively lunging or attached to your model; wait until his bite animation concludes before creating distance.

Locking in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind is your standard baseline setup to stabilize against his early auto-attack pressure.

Your very first back objective must prioritize a Bramble Vest. You cannot contest his lane presence without Grievous Wounds. The armor handles his basic attacks, while the passive reflects damage and cuts his low-health healing loop right down the middle. Pair this directly with Plated Steelcaps to mitigate his hybrid auto-attack damage.

Follow this up immediately with Sunfire Aegis or Hollow Radiance. Warwick possesses absolutely atrocious baseline wave clear. By rushing an item with an automated Immolate passive, you can effortlessly delete minion waves and shove him directly under his defensive tower. Warwick hates being trapped under tower because he cannot roam to search for low-health targets using his Blood Hunt (W) movement speed trails. Keep him pinned, and collect free Heartsteel stacks safely while he struggles to farm under tower.

In mid-to-late game macro and teamfight scenarios, you hold a massive structural advantage. Warwick is a single-target duelist who scales poorly into front-to-back teamfights.

Keep the side lanes permanently extended to clamp him to his lanes. If he attempts to group or dive your backline with Infinite Duress (R), position your massive model directly in his trajectory to block the suppression leap for your carries. Apply your heavy slows and body blocks to keep him completely peeled; without an isolated target to continuously bite, the Wolf of Zaun will quickly find himself completely starved out.

Wukong, the Monkey King
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Stone Skin passive armor/regen, Crushing Blow Q armor shred/range, Warrior Trickster W clone/stealth, Nimbus Strike E attack speed dash, Cyclone R double knockup
This is a volatile, skirmish-heavy matchup that centers around tracking physical armor values. Wukong is a highly sticky, physical damage fighter who excels at shredding defenses while simultaneously bolstering his own during extended brawls. If you respect his windows of power, you can safely scale right past his mid-game spikes.

His passive, Stone Skin, makes him deceptively tanky in extended trades. It grants him stacks of bonus armor and maximum health regeneration whenever he damages enemy champions or monsters. Combined with Conqueror, the longer a melee trade goes on, the stronger he becomes. Do not engage in prolonged auto-attack brawls. Keep your interactions short: land a quick trade and disengage before his passive armor values max out.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases is your vital insurance card against his teamfight-altering ultimate, Cyclone (R). Wukong relies on this massive spin to knock up enemies and open up windows for his team.

The absolute instant he maneuvers next to you and activates his ultimate, your passive engine will absorb the initial airborne knockup completely. Instead of being tossed into the air, you remain fully operational. Collect your health canister instantly for a sustain burst, fire an Infected Bonesaw directly into his spin vector to cripple his movement speed, and pull your model back to prevent him from chaining his subsequent free damage items onto you.

Be incredibly analytical of Crushing Blow (Q) and Warrior Trickster (W). His Q actively reduces your total armor value by a heavy percentage for a few seconds, meaning any defensive items you purchased temporarily lose their value. Furthermore, a clever Wukong will use his W stealth clone to completely absorb or block your skillshots. Never fire your primary abilities directly into him if you suspect he is looking to bait them with his clone decoy.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind handles his early E-dash and Q-poke trading patterns effectively.

Because Wukong relies on rapid basic attacks to stack his passive, Conqueror, and eventually items like Black Cleaver, rushing Plated Steelcaps is non-negotiable. Follow this instantly with a Bramble Vest. The passive healing reduction stops his Conqueror sustain loops, while the armor acts as a buffer against his built-in armor shred mechanics.

Transition immediately into Sunfire Aegis. Since Wukong lacks native, high-tier wave clear outside of basic attacks, pushing the waves aggressively forces him to choose between matching your split or losing structural plates. Once your core armor threshold is established, you can safely farming free Heartsteel stacks off his engagement attempts.

In mid-to-late game macro situations, Wukong is an elite teamfight initiator. If he cannot find clean angles to dive your backline, his overall value collapses.

In front-to-back teamfights, use your massive physical size to block his paths of approach. If he activates Cyclone (R) to try to dive past you, apply your heavy crowd control tools and slow mechanics to keep him grounded. By acting as a literal roadblock, your backline carries can effortlessly track his position and burn him down through his defensive stacks.

Yasuo, the Unforgiven
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Warden's Mail -> Randuin's Omen, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Thornmail
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Way of the Wanderer passive shield/crit, Steel Tempest Q3 tornado, Wind Wall W projectile block, Sweeping Blade E dash mobility, Last Breath R airborne suspension
This is an incredibly slippery, high-finesse matchup that tests your patience and ability tracking. Yasuo is a hyper-mobile melee carry who thrives on using minion waves to out-maneuver immobile tanks. His rapid kiting, innate shielding, and dual-armor penetration loops make him a significant dueling threat if you allow him to control the pace of the lane.

In the early levels, he will constantly look to poke you with Steel Tempest (Q) while maintaining his safety. Never commit to extended trades into his stacked minion waves. Through Conqueror or high attack-speed scaling, he will mathematically shred you down over time. Furthermore, his Way of the Wanderer (passive) generates a shield purely from his movement. Always break his passive shield with a basic attack or minor ability before committing to a short trade.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases serves as your critical circuit breaker against his lethal airborne mechanics. Yasuo’s entire threat profile hinges on knocking you into the air to unlock his ultimate, Last Breath (R).

When his charged third strike Steel Tempest (Q3) tornado or an E-Q3 spin-knockup hits your model, your passive engine will completely absorb the airborne displacement. Because you are never suspended in the air, Yasuo is completely locked out of activating his ultimate on you. Instantly recover your dropped canister for a burst of healing, fire a point-blank Infected Bonesaw to completely kill his dash velocity, and punish him while his tornado stacks are entirely depleted.

Be extremely analytical of his Last Breath (R) passive state if he manages to land it through other means (such as an allied knockup). For several seconds after casting his ultimate, Yasuo gains a massive bonus to physical armor penetration on critical strikes. Paired with items like Blade of the Ruined King, this turns his critical hits into tank-melting true damage. If he has his ultimate buff active, disengage immediately and play under tower until the armor-shred window expires.

Locking in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind is your standard operating procedure to neutralize his early Q spam and minion-aggro trades.

Itemization is your absolute silver bullet in this matchup. Because Yasuo relies exclusively on crit-based basic attacks and rapid Q thrusts, rushing Plated Steelcaps and Warden's Mail completely cripples his early damage engine. Upgrade this directly into Randuin's Omen as soon as possible; the passive crit damage reduction and powerful active area slow completely isolate him from his target vectors.

Follow this with Sunfire Aegis to maintain wave pressure and secure free Heartsteel health stacks during his predictable dash pathing. If he leans hard into lifesteal or a BotRK rush, secure a Thornmail to reflect damage and apply severe Grievous Wounds.

In mid-to-late game macro and teamfight scenarios, Yasuo is a high-risk skirmisher. If there is no open wave for him to use Sweeping Blade (E), his mobility drops to zero.

Keep waves managed so he cannot freeze outside your side-lane towers. In teamfights, act as a massive structural block between him and your squishy carries. If he attempts to dive forward, use your massive physical presence and localized slow zones to trap him in place. Without continuous movement to refresh his passive shields, he will quickly get burst down by your backline before he can find a clean opening.

Yone, the Unforgotten
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Warden's Mail -> Randuin's Omen, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Thornmail
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Way of the Hunter passive double crit/mixed damage, Mortal Steel Q3 dash-knockup, Spirit Cleave W sweep/shield, Soul Unbound E spirit form/true damage snap, Fate Sealed R flashing blink-knockup
While his scaling and mobility can seem daunting, Yone is significantly more straightforward to contain than his brother. He lacks a Wind Wall to swallow your skillshots and cannot use your own minion wave to dance around you. By keeping trades short and locking in an early defensive item perimeter, you can easily handle his pressure.

The core engine behind his lane aggression is Soul Unbound (E). Yone will leave his physical body behind, gaining ramping movement speed to hunt you down, and then snap back while replicating a portion of the damage dealt as true damage. Never commit to a long trade when he enters his spirit form. Walk backward, absorb his initial strikes with your shield, and wait for him to snap back to his predictable anchor location before throwing your retaliation.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases completely neutralizes his high-threat engage sequences. Yone's primary kill windows rely on hitting his third Mortal Steel (Q3) whirlwind dash or catching you in his ultimate, Fate Sealed (R).

The absolute moment his Q3 dash-tornado or his massive flashing ultimate line slashes through your model, your passive engine will completely swallow the airborne knockup. Instead of being suspended in mid-air, you remain fully operational on the ground. Instantly snatch up your dropped canister for a burst of healing, fire a point-blank Infected Bonesaw directly into his recovery frame to kill his movement speed, and trade back with heavy damage while his key tools are entirely on cooldown.

Be incredibly analytical of his item completion spikes. Yone’s Way of the Hunter (passive) doubles his critical strike chance from all sources, making his completion of Infinity Edge a massive damage inflection point. Combined with a common Blade of the Ruined King rush, his basic attacks will quickly melt un-itemized health pools. Do not try to contest his side-lane split if you are lagging behind on your armor targets.

Locking in Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind is mandatory to absorb his early Q poking patterns and mixed magic/physical auto-attacks.

Your itemization pathway completely defangs his scaling threat. Rushing Plated Steelcaps paired with an early Warden's Mail is your absolute silver bullet. Warden's Mail heavily blunts his fast basic attacks, and upgrading it into Randuin's Omen directly counters his passive crit multiplier by reducing incoming critical strike damage.

Follow this directly with Sunfire Aegis to maintain wave-clear priority and ensure he cannot easily trap you under your own turret. Once your armor baseline is secure, you can comfortably gather free Heartsteel stacks off his aggressive dive attempts. If his lifesteal scaling gets out of hand, secure a Thornmail to reflect his damage and cut his sustain loops in half.

In mid-to-late game teamfights, Yone is an explosive diver who relies on clean backline access. If he cannot find multi-target knockups, he becomes incredibly squishy and easy to burst down.

Act as a massive physical barrier between his original body and your backline carries. If he launches Fate Sealed (R) to reach your team, use your passive immunity to block his trajectory, then lock him down with your heavy area-of-effect slows. By pinning him down the moment he snaps back to his physical anchor point, your carries can effortlessly delete him before he can escape.

Yorick, the Shepherd of Lost Souls
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Grasp of the Undying, Demolish, Second Wind, Overgrowth
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest -> Thornmail, Sunfire Aegis, Heartsteel, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Shepherd of Souls passive grave management, Last Rites Q siphon/graves, Dark Procession W wall cage, Mourning Mist E ghoul leap/slow, Eulogy of the Isles R Maiden summon
This is a demanding, micro-intensive lane that heavily tests your positioning and macro management. Yorick is an elite split-pushing juggernaut who functions as a summoner-commander, relying almost entirely on his AI ghouls and ultimate to stat-check you. If you allow him to control the map pacing or pull ahead early, his siege potential will quickly spiral out of control.

The core threat pattern in his kit relies on Mourning Mist (E). If he lands this skillshot while he has graves active, his Mist Walkers will instantly leap onto your model and begin tearing through your health pool. Never stand still when he has 3 or 4 graves raised behind his minion waves. Constantly dance and weave your movement to dodge the incoming mist projectile; if he misses his E, his ghouls lose their primary target lock and become completely manageable.

Your passive Goes Where He Pleases acts as an exceptional defensive fallback, though it behaves uniquely against his tools. Yorick's primary setup to guarantee a kill or burn your health is trailing his E into Dark Procession (W), trapping you inside a ring of terrain.

While your passive engine is tuned to absorb hard crowd control, it is critical to note that Yorick's wall functions as physical terrain rather than a standard stun or displacement. However, if he attempts to slow you with Mourning Mist (E) to guarantee his setup, your passive will consume the slow. Use that immediate window of full mobility to quickly path away before the wall rises, or use your basic attacks to quickly destroy the cage's HP bars if you do find yourself trapped inside.

Be incredibly analytical of his ultimate, Eulogy of the Isles (R). The Maiden of the Mist deals continuous magic damage and allows Yorick to deal massive percent-max health bonus damage to her target. A Maiden-less Yorick is fundamentally defanged. Never try to duel him while his Maiden is tethered to him. Instead, look to safely clear his minion waves, poke the Maiden down whenever she overextends under your defensive tower, and isolate him once his ultimate summon is entirely deleted.

Locking in Doran's Shield alongside Second Wind is your baseline framework to survive the relentless chip damage from his ghoul leaps and Q-pokes.

Your itemization path must be built to withstand physical swarm damage. Rushing Plated Steelcaps is essential, as the boots effectively reduce the basic attack damage dealt by both Yorick and his multiple leaping Mist Walkers. Follow this immediately with Bramble Vest and Sunfire Aegis. The passive Immolate aura from Sunfire is highly valuable here, as it burns down his surrounding ghouls automatically while you focus on controlling the wave. Once your defensive baseline is secured, you can look to collect free Heartsteel stacks during his predictable laning loops.

In mid-to-late game macro scenarios, Yorick’s sole ambition is to permanently split-push your side-lanes down to the Nexus. He will actively avoid grouping for teamfights because his kit shines in isolated structural sieges.

Your path to victory relies on strict lane management. You must consistently match his side-lane pressure to prevent him from taking free towers with Demolish. Because your teamfight utility is vastly superior to his, use your teleport or ultimate to force heavy, advantageous fights with your team whenever you manage to push his waves back. If you freeze his waves effectively and neutralize his split, he will be forced into an awkward defensive game that he is simply not built to win.
