MORDEKAISER THE IRON REVENANT | In-depth Mordekaiser Masterclass

By Bonkk

Greetings Summoner!

I hope that you're doing well in your climb this season.

Welcome to my Mordekaiser guide!

A short description of myself before we proceed with the guide. I am Bonkk. I play in the Philippine server, having downloaded and played league while we were stuck in the horror that is the Garena server.

I'm a fairly new player actually, having started playing during season 10. I'm a top/support player with Mordekaiser as my main as well as a variety of other support and mid champions.

You can search for my accounts in op.gg. My username is: Bonkk, and Gobu. I look forward to helping others improve their gameplay, while also improving myself along the way :)

I poured my heart and soul to doing this guide, so hopefully you’ll enjoy it.

“Iron stands eternal.” -Mordekaiser

Mordekaiser is a highly oppressive AP Juggernaut that primarily dominates the top lane, but can also be flexed into the jungle.

He is a terrifying raid boss who excels at isolating targets and winning extended trades thanks to his passive.

Whether you are melting through enemy frontlines with an AP bruiser setup (Riftmaker/Liandry's) or scaling into an unkillable juggernaut with tank items, his damage output and sustain remain consistently high.

His ultimate, Realm of Death, gives you unmatched objective control and the ability to completely remove the enemy team's biggest threat from a teamfight.

You won't see too many champions bringing in the same amount of satisfaction as getting ganked, only to drag the enemy jungler into the shadow realm and secure a double kill.

Play Mordekaiser if you want to bend the enemy team to your will and force them to fight you on your own terms.

+Manaless champion
+Incredible 1v1 and isolation potential
+Massive AoE damage and sustained DPS
+Built-in shielding and healing
+Dominant mid-game power spike
+Shreds through tanks and bruisers
+Low skill floor, easy to pick up
Mordekaiser is an oppressive AP juggernaut who thrives in extended trades.

His manaless nature and built-in sustain from Indestructible allow him to stay in lane and out-resource opponents easily.

With Realm of Death, he can completely dictate teamfights by isolating the enemy carry or jungler, turning a 5v5 into a guaranteed 4v4 advantage.

-Highly immobile, prone to kiting
-Telegraphed abilities are easily dodged
-Ultimate countered by QSS/Cleanse effects
-Weak early game prior to level 6
-Struggles against heavy ranged/poke comps
Mordekaiser suffers greatly against highly mobile champions and ranged kiters. Missing your Death's Grasp often leaves you helpless.

His abilities have long wind-ups, making Obliterate and his pull very easy for skilled players to sidestep.

Items like Quicksilver Sash directly cancel your Realm of Death, significantly dropping your threat level in late-game teamfights.

Conqueror

Conqueror

Mordekaiser's primary keystone.

This is the absolute best keystone for the vast majority of matchups. Conqueror gives Mordekaiser unmatched extended trading power in the top lane.

It scales incredibly well with his kit, granting bonus Ability Power as you stack it up with your abilities and auto-attacks.

Once fully stacked, it heals you for a portion of the damage dealt. This, combined with your passive Darkness Rise and Riftmaker, turns you into an unkillable raid boss in extended teamfights and inside the Realm of Death.
Triumph
Your bread and butter for surviving close fights and 1v2 ganks.

The healing upon scoring a takedown is crucial for keeping you alive after you finish off your target in the Realm of Death and return to the main map.

Absorb Life
A solid alternative if you are facing a heavy poke lane and need to sustain off the minion wave, though Triumph is usually better for teamfighting.
Legend: Alacrity Attack speed rune. Helps you stack your passive Darkness Rise much faster and makes your auto-attacks feel a lot smoother when weaving them between abilities.

Legend: Haste Ability Haste rune. An amazing alternative if you want to focus on casting more Obliterates and keeping your W shield on a lower cooldown.
Last Stand
The best damage multiplier rune for Mordekaiser.

As a juggernaut, you will naturally take damage and fight at lower health thresholds. Last Stand synergizes beautifully with your W Indestructible, allowing you to deal massive bonus damage while protected by your massive shield at low HP.

Grasp of the Undying

Grasp of the Undying

Niche but viable tank keystone.

Works well if you are facing a difficult melee matchup where you are forced to take very short trades (e.g., Jax, Riven) and want to scale your maximum health safely.

Because your W Indestructible shield scales directly with your maximum HP, the infinite health scaling from Grasp makes your mid-to-late game shielding significantly stronger.

While Conqueror is generally better for carrying, Grasp transforms you into a much beefier frontline threat when your team desperately needs a primary tank.

Shield Bash High value rune for trading. Gives you extra resistances and a burst of damage every time you activate Indestructible.

Demolish Take this if you are playing for side lane pressure. Mordekaiser already destroys towers quickly with his AP, and this makes you a terrifying split pusher.
Conditioning Mid-to-late game scaling defensive rune. Enhances the bonus stats you steal in the Realm of Death.

Second Wind Sustain rune. Essential for surviving heavy poke matchups (like Teemo or Jayce). Run this with Doran's Shield.

Bone Plating Anti-burst rune. Take this against combo-heavy champions like Renekton or Riven to completely deny their quick trades.
Revitalize Enhances your W Indestructible shielding and healing, as well as your Conqueror and Riftmaker omnivamp. Huge value on Mordekaiser.

Infinite scaling health rune. Synergizes perfectly with your W shielding if you are going for a heavy tank build.

Stormraider's Surge

Stormraider's Surge

Anti-kite keystone.

This is your go-to keystone against highly mobile ranged champions (like Vayne, Quinn) or champions with crippling slows (like Nasus or Olaf).

Mordekaiser's biggest weakness is his immobility. Stormraider's Surge completely negates this issue, granting you a massive burst of movement speed and slow resistance once you land your E -> Q -> Auto combo.

Combines beautifully with your Darkness Rise movement speed bonus, making it impossible for enemies to kite you out inside the Realm of Death.
Nimbus Cloak The absolute best rune in this row for Mordekaiser.

Popping Ghost or Ignite gives you a massive speed steroid to catch up to elusive targets, ensuring they cannot escape your ultimate.
Celerity Movement speed amplifier.
Synergizes flawlessly with Stormraider's Surge, Nimbus Cloak, your passive Darkness Rise, and items like Cosmic Drive, turning you into an inescapable juggernaut.

Transcendence
A great alternative for flat Ability Haste if you want to spam more abilities in teamfights.
Gathering Storm Infinite AP scaling rune.

Guarantees that you remain a lethal threat into the extreme late game, giving you free Ability Power as the match goes on.

Revitalize

An incredible minor rune. It amplifies your W Indestructible shield and heal, keeping you alive much longer in skirmishes.

Second Wind / Bone Plating

Your primary defensive minor runes. Take Second Wind against heavy ranged poke, and Bone Plating against aggressive melee burst (like Renekton/Riven).

Legend: Alacrity

Attack speed feels fantastic on Mordekaiser. It helps you stack your passive instantly and land crucial auto-attacks while enemies are CC'd by your E.

Last Stand

Because you are a slow juggernaut, you will inevitably take damage. This rune rewards you for it, drastically increasing your damage output when you are low on HP but protected by your massive W shield.

Nimbus Cloak

Great secondary minor rune if you are taking Sorcery. The burst of speed when using Ignite or Flash guarantees you can secure a kill inside the Realm of Death.

Take the attack speed minor rune for easier last hitting and smoother passive procs.

The standard. A short ranged emergency blink on a 5 minute cooldown. Can be used to escape, chase, reposition or make surprise Flash + Obliterate or Death's Grasp plays. Take this spell in all games.
For map control and laning. This summoner spell makes laning very forgiving, as you can use it to go for a free recall whenever you get too low and can't fix the wave without dying. Teleport is also good for objective control and split pushing. This summoner can also be used to respond to a fight breaking out and you're too far to walk to the fight. You're gonna take this in 99% of games in the toplane.
Mobility spell. A fantastic alternative or addition to Flash versus champions with extended mobility. Mordekaiser is easily kited, and Ghost completely solves this issue, ensuring nobody escapes you inside the Realm of Death. The duration extending on takedowns makes you a menace in teamfights.
For more kill pressure. Take this if you need the early damage or anti-heal to beat a sustain-heavy laner (like Aatrox, Warwick, or Dr. Mundo), and/or want to aggressively snowball your lead.

HOW TO MAXIMIZE TELEPORT

The new update brought along Lane Quests, which are objectives you can accomplish by gaining quest EXP through last hits, kills, towers, tower plates, jungle objectives and assists.

Each lane has their own rewards, and for top lane this is having Teleport as your 3rd summoner spell if you didn't equip it already, or a stronger empowered Teleport if you equipped it as your chosen summoner spell.

The Top lane quest enhanced Teleport gives you a big shield on top of your health, which makes it an amazing tool for joining teamfights via Teleport, as it gives you a bigger total health pool. This shield is great for Mordekaiser when it comes to responding to teamfights, as you will be right in the center of the fight most of the time, allowing you to absorb initial burst damage while you look for the perfect target to isolate with your ultimate Realm of Death. Receiving Teleport from your top lane quest when you've equipped other summoner spells has it at a longer cooldown of 420 seconds vs the normal 300 seconds.

The top lane quest also gives you a higher level cap of up to level 20.

Darkness Rise
Passive

Mordekaiser gains a damaging aura and movement speed after landing 3 basic attacks or spells against enemy champions or monsters.

His basic attacks also deal bonus magic damage based on his total Ability Power.

This passive is the heart of Mordekaiser's extended trading power and sustained DPS in fight scenarios.

Once activated, Darkness Rise continually refreshes its duration as long as you keep basic attacking or damaging enemy champions or epic monsters.

It constantly stacks Conqueror and triggers spell effects from items like Riftmaker and Liandry's Torment, making you an absolute nightmare in extended melee brawls.

Common mistake:

Failing to maintain passive: distance control is crucial. If you let enemies kite you out for more than 5 seconds without taking a hit from your attacks or abilities, your aura drops and you lose a massive chunk of your sustained damage and movement speed.

Obliterate

Q

Mordekaiser slams his mace, Nightfall, down on the ground, dealing magic damage to all enemies in the area.

This ability deals significantly increased damage if it hits only a single target, making it lethal in 1v1 duels.

Mordekaiser’s primary damage tool and laning poke ability.

Most of your burst damage comes from hitting isolated Qs.

Isolated Obliterate slams have massive damage multipliers, which scale exceptionally well with AP items.

Good ways to use Q Obliterate:

ISOLATED SLAMS

Indestructible

W

PASSIVE: Mordekaiser stores a portion of all damage he deals and receives into a secondary shield pool.

ACTIVE: Mordekaiser consumes his stored shield pool to gain a massive shield. Recasting the ability consumes the shield to heal him for a percentage of the remaining value.

This ability turns Mordekaiser into an amazingly resilient frontline tank in teamfights.

The shield pool fills quickly in trades as you deal and absorb damage, allowing you to turn the tide of close 1v1 fights or 1v2 gank attempts.

In almost all fight situations, keeping the active shield to absorb incoming damage is far more effective than recasting it early for the smaller heal.

Death's Grasp

E

PASSIVE: Mordekaiser gains innate percentage Magic Penetration.

ACTIVE: Mordekaiser summons a phantom claw that pulls all enemies in the targeted area towards him, dealing magic damage.

This is your primary engage and CC tool to pull elusive targets into range of your mace.

You can also cast this ability backwards (away from you) to push enemy champions away, acting as a handy disengage tool when escaping ganks.

BACKWARDS E DISENGAGE

Realm of Death

R

Mordekaiser banishes a target enemy champion to the Death Realm with him for 7 seconds, stealing 10% of their core stats for the duration.

If Mordekaiser kills his target inside the Death Realm, he consumes their soul and keeps their stolen stats until they respawn.

This is one of the most game-changing ultimate abilities in League of Legends, allowing you to isolate and eliminate high-priority enemy carries or neutralize enemy junglers during Dragon/Baron contests.

Standard leveling sequence for AP Juggernaut Mordekaiser. Maxing Q Obliterate first is mandatory as it significantly reduces its cooldown and drastically increases isolated single-target damage for laning trades and waveclear. Maxing W Indestructible second maximizes your shield absorption and sustained combat healing in teamfights. Max E Death's Grasp last because its pull utility and passive magic penetration scale sufficiently well off item power through the mid-game.

Defensive leveling sequence for Mordekaiser into brutal lane matchups (e.g., Vayne, Jayce, Olaf). Placing 3 early points into W Indestructible grants a substantially larger shield capacity and burst mitigation, ensuring you survive poke and heavy all-ins before finishing your Q Obliterate max.

Make sure to set your abilities to Quick Cast in the settings. This will enable you to execute your pull and slam combos much faster.

Standard Trade: Passive Trigger
E ➔ Q ➔ Auto Attack

The foundational trading combo for Mordekaiser.

Summon E Death's Grasp to pull the enemy champion towards you. As they are airborne/pulled in, buffer your Q Obliterate so it lands reliably, followed immediately by an auto attack.

This 3-hit sequence immediately triggers your passive Darkness Rise, granting you bonus magic aura damage and movement speed to stick to them or disengage cleanly.

Works great with Conqueror and Grasp of the Undying to win short-to-medium laning exchanges.

Disengage / Peel Push
Reverse E ➔ Q

Defensive combo used to create distance against aggressive melee champions or ganking junglers.

Cast E Death's Grasp facing directly away from your direction of travel (behind you). The claw will drag approaching enemies away from you while pushing you ahead.

Follow up with a backward Q Obliterate to slow or punish their chase attempt while safely walking back to your turret.

Death Realm Combo
E ➔ R ➔ Q ➔ Auto Attacks ➔ W

The ultimate single-target deletion combo.

Cast E Death's Grasp on a high-priority target, then immediately cast R Realm of Death. Using R while the claw is dragging ensures they cannot dodge or flash out of the realm arrival zone.

Once inside the Death Realm, land an isolated Q Obliterate, stack your passive Darkness Rise with basic attacks.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter

Core perma-slow utility item. Rylai's is arguably Mordekaiser's most essential rush item. The 30% slow triggers on every instance of spell damage, meaning once your passive Darkness Rise aura activates, surrounding enemies are permanently slowed. This allows you to stick to targets effortlessly, land isolated Q Obliterate slams, and trap enemies inside Realm of Death.

Riftmaker

AP-tank sustain & damage scaler. Grants AP, Health, and Ability Haste while converting bonus health into additional AP. Its passive ramps up your damage by up to 10% in extended combat and grants Omnivamp, making Mordekaiser an unkillable Juggernaut in drawn-out teamfights alongside W Indestructible shielding.

Liandry's Torment

Max HP burn and damage amplifier. The ultimate damage synergy item for Mordekaiser. Its %Max HP burn stacks seamlessly with Darkness Rise, melting tanks and squishies alike. When combined with Rylai's Crystal Scepter, enemies trapped in your aura burn continuously while unable to escape.

Jak'Sho, the Protean

Hybrid resistance tank item. Jak'Sho provides heavy Armor, Magic Resist, and Health. In extended fights, its passive increases your bonus resistances by 30% after 5 seconds in combat. Combined with stats stolen during Realm of Death, Jak'Sho turns Mordekaiser into an impenetrable frontline raid boss.

Spirit Visage

Magic resist & shield amplification. Grants Health, Magic Resist, and Ability Haste. Its passive boosts all incoming healing and shielding by 25%, directly magnifying the massive shields and self-healing from W Indestructible as well as Conqueror and Riftmaker omnivamp.

Zhonya's Hourglass

Armor, AP, and stasis utility item. Essential survival tool when facing heavy physical burst or focused focus in teamfights. The stasis active allows Mordekaiser to stay safe while Darkness Rise continues ticking around him inside Realm of Death, stalling for cooldowns on W Indestructible.

Thornmail

Anti-heal armor item. A core defensive buy against heavy physical damage and high-healing enemies. Landing E Death's Grasp applies 40% Grievous Wounds, while the armor and reflect damage synergize exceptionally well with Mordekaiser's frontline duel-focused kit.

Randuin's Omen

Anti-crit and area slow item. Premier armor choice into double critical strike threats (e.g., Yasuo, Yone, Marksmen). The active slow helps Mordekaiser keep targets trapped inside Darkness Rise range and makes landing isolated Q Obliterate slams effortless.

Force of Nature

Ramping magic resist & movement speed item. Best defensive MR item for extended combat against DPS mages. Taking magic damage grants stacks of bonus movement speed and flat magic damage reduction, helping Mordekaiser run down backline mages without taking heavy poke.

Kaenic Rookern

Heavy anti-burst magic resist item. Grants massive flat Magic Resist and Health. The passive magic shield scales with your max health, making Mordekaiser virtually immune to burst mages and ensuring you survive the initial jump inside Realm of Death.

Dead Man's Plate

Movement speed armor item. Great situational pick when you need additional mobility to roam, match fast splitpushers, or close gaps on elusive ranged champions. Grants armor, health, and ramping movement speed that helps Mordekaiser initiate fights.

Unending Despair

Extended combat AOE drain item. Grants Armor, Health, and Ability Haste. Every 7 seconds while in champion combat, it deals magic damage to nearby enemies and heals you based on damage dealt. Combined with Darkness Rise and W Indestructible, this makes Mordekaiser nearly unkillable in drawn-out teamfights.

Cosmic Drive

AP movement speed & stick potential. Grants AP, Health, Ability Haste, and continuous movement speed when dealing damage to champions. Perfect for Mordekaiser when fighting slippery, high-mobility compositions where staying glued to enemies with Darkness Rise is critical.

Abyssal Mask

Magic resist shred & team utility tank item. Provides Health, Magic Resist, and Ability Haste. Its passive reduces the Magic Resist of all surrounding enemies while boosting your own. Highly effective on Mordekaiser into heavy AP comps or when paired with magic-damage heavy team compositions.

Hextech Rocketbelt

Gap-close active & anti-kite tool. Grants AP, Health, and Ability Haste alongside a forward dash active that fires magic bolts. Provides Mordekaiser with the key burst of mobility needed to catch elusive targets, land E Death's Grasp, or guarantee Realm of Death range.

Experimental Hexplate

Ultimate Haste & stat boost on R cast. Grants Health, Attack Speed, and significant Ultimate Ability Haste. Upon casting Realm of Death, it grants bonus movement speed and attack speed for 8 seconds. A niche option that allows Mordekaiser to have his ultimate up for every single fight while giving extra stick-potential inside the Death Realm.

Sterak's Gage

Clutch anti-burst shield & tenacity item. Grants Health, Base AD, and Tenacity. Its Lifeline passive triggers a massive decay shield when brought low. While Mordekaiser scales primarily with AP, Sterak's provides valuable crowd control reduction and pairs with high-HP builds for double-shielding alongside W Indestructible.

Hextec Gunblade

Hybrid AP/AD sustain & point-and-click slow. Offers AP, AD, and omnivamp alongside an active magic bolt that instantly slows its target. A fun situational pick that lets Mordekaiser lock down fast enemies, guarantee E Death's Grasp, and heal from all Darkness Rise magic damage.

Dusk & Dawn

Hybrid AP & utility sustain item. Offers a balance of Ability Power, Health, and combat durability while enhancing dual-spectrum offensive and defensive output. A niche option that enables Mordekaiser to scale effective power in long skirmishes, strengthening both Darkness Rise DPS and W Indestructible shielding.

Nashor's Tooth

AP attack speed & on-hit DPS item. Grants massive Ability Power, Attack Speed, and Ability Haste. The passive adds magic damage to every auto-attack scaling with AP. An exceptional offensive buy on Mordekaiser to rapidly stack Darkness Rise, melt targets inside Realm of Death, and dominate 1v1 side-lane duels.

Iceborn Gauntlet

Armor, spellblade & icy slow zone item. Provides Armor, Health, and Ability Haste. After using an ability, your next auto-attack triggers Spellblade to deal bonus damage and unleash a freezing field that slows nearby enemies. Helps Mordekaiser stick to targets after landing Q Obliterate, keeping them trapped in Darkness Rise.

Boots

Movement speed item. Buy this on early backs to increase mobility. Extra movement speed helps with dodging enemy skillshots in lane and closing distance to land E Death's Grasp or isolated Q Obliterate.

Plated Steelcaps

Anti-auto attack armor boots. Essential purchase when facing auto-attack heavy AD laners (Irelia, Jax, Tryndamere) or double AD threats. Reduces incoming basic attack damage to turn extended trades in your favor.

Mercury's Treads

Magic resist and tenacity boots. Core defensive boot option into heavy AP laners or team compositions packed with crowd control. Tenacity reduces stun and root durations, keeping you mobile in teamfights.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Ability haste & summoner spell boots. Great budget pick when defensive boots aren't strictly required. Lowers spell cooldowns for frequent Q Obliterate slams and reduces Flash and Teleport timers.

Boots of Swiftness

Slow resist boots. Take these if the enemy composition relies heavily on slows rather than hard CC (e.g., Ashe, Nasus). Helps prevent Mordekaiser from getting kited during teamfights or inside Realm of Death.

Sorcerer's Shoes

Magic penetration boot option. A strong offensive option when snowballing early. Flat magic penetration significantly increases damage output from Q Obliterate isolated slams and Darkness Rise passive aura.

Doran's Shield

Defensive starter item. Premier choice against difficult ranged poke and damage-over-time champions like Teemo or Vayne. Paired with Second Wind, its passive health regeneration keeps Mordekaiser healthy enough to safely farm until level 6 Realm of Death.

Doran's Ring

Standard offensive starter item. Grants AP, bonus Health, and extra damage on basic attacks to assist with last-hitting minions. Ideal start in even or favorable melee matchups where you can trade frequently with Q Obliterate.

Dark Seal

Aggressive snowballing option. Buy this early or on your first recall when confident in winning early 1v1 duels inside Realm of Death. Grants cheap AP and Health while allowing you to stack AP as you secure kills.

Cloth Armor

Early armor starter option. Great start if you plan to rush Bramble Vest or Seeker's Armguard on your very first back against heavy AD lane bullies or high-sustain threats like Warwick, Aatrox, or Tryndamere.

Ruby Crystal

Early HP component start. Accelerates component buys when aiming to rush health-heavy AP cores like Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Liandry's Torment. Also boosts your W Indestructible shield size early on.

Refilaable Potion

Reusable sustain item. Pick this up on an early recall whenever you have 150 spare gold. Provides incredible long-term gold efficiency and extra lane sustain throughout the laning phase.

Amplifying Tome

Core AP component. Essential early purchase when building toward core AP items like Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Liandry's Torment. Instantly boosts damage output on Q Obliterate and Darkness Rise passive aura.

Blasting Wand

High AP component buy. A major raw AP power spike when recalling with 850 gold. Accelerates completion of core items like Riftmaker or Shadowflame, giving Mordekaiser significant dueling threat in Realm of Death.

Kindlegem

Health & haste component. Provides bonus Health and Ability Haste. Builds into items like Cosmic Drive or tank hybrids, giving Mordekaiser higher durability and more frequent W Indestructible shields.

Bramble Vest

Early anti-heal component. High-priority first recall buy against heavy physical sustain top laners like Aatrox, Fiora, or Warwick. Applies Grievous Wounds when struck, helping Mordekaiser win extended trades.

Seeker's Armg

Armor & AP active component. Essential defensive component buy when rushing Zhonya's Hourglass into heavy AD burst, lethality laners, or lethal physical assassins.

Haunting Guis

Extended combat AP component. Primary rush component for Liandry's Torment. Increases damage output the longer you stay in combat, perfectly matching Mordekaiser's extended dueling style with Darkness Rise.

Fiend Code

AP & Haste component. Provides Ability Power and Ability Haste to lower cooldowns on Q Obliterate slams and W Indestructible shields during the early game.

Oblivion Orb

AP anti-heal option. Alternative Grievous Wounds component when facing ranged or magic-based healing threats (like Vladimir or Sylas) where Bramble Vest won't reliably trigger.

Warden's Mail

Anti-auto attack armor component. Defensive option when behind against pure AD auto-attackers, drastically reducing incoming basic attack damage.

AP Bruiser

Mordekaiser's Most Optimal Core Build (AP + Sustained DPS)

> > > > >

Mordekaiser's highest winrate and most mathematically optimal build for dominating lane and teamfights.

Every item in this build synergizes directly with Mordekaiser's AP ratios, health scaling, and Darkness Rise passive burn aura.

This build balances incredible sustained damage, health, omnivamp, and stacking resistances, making you an unkillable raid boss inside the Death Realm.
Let's see the synergies this build has with Mordekaiser and your kit:

Rylai's Crystal Scepter applies a constant 30% slow with every spell and your passive aura, ensuring enemies can never walk out of your range.

Liandry's Torment burns enemies for max health damage, stacking perfectly with your passive aura and R Realm of Death.

Riftmaker grants omnivamp, bonus health conversion into Ability Power, and amplified damage during extended brawls.

Jak'Sho, The Protean ramps up your armor and magic resistance the longer you stay in combat, turning you into a massive frontline tank.

Full Tank
> > > > >

The safest and most consistent build when facing heavy physical AD or burst compositions, or when your team desperately needs a primary frontline tank.

While you sacrifice some raw AP burst, your base damages combined with Sunfire/Hollow Radiance burn and Darkness Rise still deal deceptive baseline magic damage.

Always prioritize an early waveclear item ( Hollow Radiance against AP/magic damage or Sunfire Aegis against AD/physical damage) to secure push priority in top lane.

Hybrid
> > > > >

A dueling focused AP-AD and attack speed hybrid build designed for absolute 1v1 domination.

Hextech Gunblade provides hybrid AP and AD stats, which both scale off of Mordekaiser's Q Obliterate, an active that slows a target enemy champion, which is great for an immobile juggernaut like Mordekaiser, but most importantly, it gives omnivamp, massively ramping up Mordekaiser's extended dueling power.

This build rewards aggressive auto-attack spacing and shines against immobile juggernauts and tanks where you can freely stick to your target.

Keep in mind that this build leaves you slightly squishier than the standard AP Bruiser or Full Tank paths, so position carefully and time your W Indestructible shield to absorb incoming burst damage.

Wave Management

A slow push is used to slowly build up a massive minion wave that crashes all at once into the enemy tower.

Slow pushing is ideal for setting up tower dives, objective roams, or getting a free, uncontested recall timer.

As Mordekaiser, slow pushing is exceptionally lethal post-6. Crashing a 2–3 wave stack under the enemy turret sets up guaranteed dives using Realm of Death. Inside the Death Realm, you isolate and execute the target; outside, your massive minion wave dies to the turret, denying them huge amounts of gold and XP even if you trade 1-for-1.

How to execute: Be very careful with your abilities! Avoid triggering Darkness Rise or hitting the entire wave with Q Obliterate. Only last-hit with basic attacks while keeping a 1-to-2 minion advantage over the enemy wave.

Once the giant wave crashes, you are on a generous timer while the enemy struggles to clear under tower. Use this window to get a clean item recall or walk down to assist your jungler with Void Grubs or Dragon.

A fast push / shove means clearing the enemy minion wave as fast as humanly possible to crash your wave under their tower.

Mordekaiser is a wave-clearing monster once you have a few points in Q Obliterate. Dragging the minion wave together with E Death's Grasp, slamming them with Q Obliterate, and letting Darkness Rise burn the rest allows you to delete full waves in seconds.

When to fast push:
• Immediately after killing your lane opponent or forcing them to recall, denying them gold/XP to the turret.
• When you need to recall immediately without losing your own minion wave.
• To break an enemy freeze by shoving your minions completely into their tower range to force a wave reset.
• To secure fast lane priority before river skirmishes, Void Grubs, or Dragon contests.

A freeze occurs when you manipulate the wave so it holds indefinitely just outside your tower perimeter, keeping you completely safe while forcing the enemy to overextend.

Mordekaiser thrives when holding a freeze. If the enemy laner attempts to step up to last-hit, you can pull them under turret range with E Death's Grasp or trap them in Realm of Death right outside your tower with no room to escape.

How to execute: Keep 3 to 4 extra enemy ranged minions alive outside your turret's attack range. Only last-hit at the absolute last second. If the enemy wave becomes too large (5+ extra minions), thin it down with a quick Q Obliterate.

Warning: Be cautious when trading during a freeze. If your passive Darkness Rise activates near the wave or your Q Obliterate hits multiple minions, you will accidentally break your freeze and trigger an unintended slow push toward the enemy.

Kiting & Orb Walking

Kiting, or orb walking, is a fundamental mechanical skill that every player should master.

Controlling your champion's movement between auto-attack cooldowns allows you to continuously reposition while maximizing your damage output.

Mastering movement control can completely change the outcome of duels, especially when dodging skillshot-reliant champions like Ezreal or Lux.

Orb walking is not exclusive to ADCs—mages, tanks, and especially Juggernauts benefit tremendously from it.

Standing still while basic attacking makes you a sitting duck for enemy crowd control and skillshots. Learning to move between attacks increases your DPS and survivability.

For Mordekaiser, kiting is mandatory to maintain your passive Darkness Rise. Because Mordekaiser has no mobility dashes, standing still between attacks lets mobile enemies walk out of your aura range. Proper orb walking allows you to stick to targets and keep them trapped in your damaging aura, especially inside the Realm of Death.

Orb Walking with Mordekaiser Passive Active

How to Kite

Settings Setup: Check your keybindings and ensure you have Attack Move or Attack Move Click enabled. By default, Attack Move is set to A + Left Click and Attack Move Click is set to Shift + Right Click. Bind Attack Move Click to a comfortable key or extra mouse button so you can kite quickly without accidentally misclicking on the ground.

Auto attacks have a wind-up time, an impact frame, and a recovery animation.

Animation Canceling: The exact moment Mordekaiser's mace hits the enemy and damage is dealt, immediately issue a movement command. This cancels the back-end recovery animation and lets you move while your auto-attack is on cooldown.

Practice weaving basic attacks, Q Obliterate, and E Death's Grasp between movement commands without interrupting your forward chase.

Here are two excellent exercises you can use to sharpen your click precision and reaction times:

LoL Dodge Game Drill
Triangle Movement Exercise

Early Game Play

Levels 1 ➔ 3

At Level 1, start with Q Obliterate. Look to land isolated Q slams on your opponent whenever they step up to last-hit minion waves.

Level 1–2 All-In Power: Unlike many laners, Mordekaiser possesses exceptional extended trading power at Level 1. If an enemy melee champion tries to fight you, stack your passive Darkness Rise with 3 basic attacks/abilities. Once your aura is active, you win almost every extended melee brawl thanks to Conqueror and continuous magic damage burn.

At Level 2, unlock W Indestructible if you need shield mitigation against poke/trade damage, or take E Death's Grasp if you want aggressive pull setup.

By Level 3, your full basic ability rotation (E ➔ Q ➔ Auto ➔ W) is unlocked. Use E Death's Grasp to pull enemies in, follow up with an isolated Q Obliterate, and proc Darkness Rise to force them out of lane.

Try setting up a 3-wave slow push to crash a large minion wave into the enemy tower. This sets up an early cheater recall or gives you uncontested lane control.

On your first back, aim to purchase core AP bruiser components like Haunting Guise, Fated Ashes, or Fiendish Codex alongside Boots.

Around the 3:30 mark, the honeyfruit spawns in the river. This plant is fantastic for Mordekaiser—since you are manaless, eating the fruit gives pure HP sustain, allowing you to stay in lane longer to hoard gold and XP.

Levels 4 ➔ 9

During Levels 4–5, evaluate your matchup. If playing into a difficult mobile laner, freeze the wave just outside your tower range. Holding a freeze near your turret makes pulling enemies under tower with E Death's Grasp extremely dangerous for them while keeping you safe from enemy junglers.

Level 6 Power Spike: Unlocking your ultimate Realm of Death at Level 6 completely transforms your lane dynamics and objective dominance:
• 1v1 Kill Threat: Any enemy without Flash or mobility skills who steps past mid-river is an easy target for Realm of Death.
• 1v2 Outplay Tool: When the enemy jungler ganks you, do not panic! Use R Realm of Death on the lower-HP or squishier attacker to turn the gank into a forced 1v1 inside your domain. Defeating them grants stolen stats to easily turn on the surviving enemy or walk away safely.

Around the 6:00 mark, Void Grubs spawn in the river. Use your fast waveclear (E ➔ Q ➔ Darkness Rise) to shove the wave into tower and gain lane priority, then move into the river to secure Void Grubs or Dragon with your jungler.

With isolated Q Obliterate damage scaling higher with every skill point, your objective shred speed and plate-demolishing pressure become lethal during this stage of the game.

Mid Game Play

Levels 9 ➔ 14

By this stage, Tier 1 towers begin falling across the map, opening up side lanes and deep jungle access. As Mordekaiser, maxing out your Q Obliterate and completing core items like Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Liandry's Torment makes you a mid-game powerhouse.

Side-Lane Pressure & Farming Economy: Never stand around idle in mid lane sharing XP needlessly. Push out side-lane waves past river and draw enemy attention to yourself. Because of R Realm of Death, enemy teams must send at least two or three champions to stop your split push—and you can easily turn multi-man collapses into a 1v1 kill inside your realm.

Teamfight & Objective Duty (Dragon / Baron / Rift Herald): In mid-game teamfights, your ultimate Realm of Death is the single most important cooldown in the game. Identify your primary target based on the objective:
• Objective Contests: Banish the enemy Jungler right before Smite threshold to guarantee your team secures Dragon or Baron.
• Teamfight Advantage: Ulting the enemy's most fed carry (ADC or Mage) completely removes their main damage source, letting your team clean up the remaining fight.
• Peeling: If an enemy assassin or bruiser jumps on your squishy carries, trap them in Realm of Death to protect your team.

Vision Control & Fog Ambushes: Swap to Oracle Lens and keep Control Wards active near major objectives. Wait in unwarded bushes or enemy jungle paths—landing an E Death's Grasp from fog into R Realm of Death guarantees an easy pick before a fight even starts.

Resource Management: Clear enemy jungle camps (Gromp, Krugs, Raptors) while split pushing to starve the enemy team of gold and accelerate your item build toward late-game tankiness.

Late Game Play

Levels 15 ➔ 18

In the late game, death timers reach 50–70+ seconds. A single misstep, bad engage, or wasted ultimate can lose Baron, Elder Dragon, or the entire game. Play with extreme caution and never overextend without vision or team backup.

Full Build Raid Boss: With a completed build featuring AP and health items like Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Zhonya's Hourglass, and defensive stats from Jak'Sho, The Protean, Mordekaiser becomes an unstoppable teamfight frontline. Your max-level W Indestructible shield absorbs thousands of damage, while Darkness Rise melts entire enemy teams stacked together.

Elder Dragon & Baron Objective Secures: Neutral objectives decide late-game outcomes. Your R Realm of Death is the single best objective-securing tool in League of Legends. Pull the enemy Jungler into your realm right before the objective reaches Smite range—without their jungler on the map, your team secures Elder Dragon or Baron uncontested.

Target Selection & Zhonya's Hourglass Tech: In 5v5 teamfights, target selection in R Realm of Death makes or breaks the game:
• Isolate Carries: Lock down fed enemy hypercarries (e.g., Jinx, Vayne, Azir) to remove their damage output from the teamfight.
• Zhonya's Stalling: If you ult a target that is too strong or slippery to kill outright, activate Zhonya's Hourglass inside R to buy 2.5 seconds of safety while keeping them completely removed from the main 4v4 teamfight for 7 full seconds.

Tracking Cooldowns & QSS: Vision control and cooldown tracking are crucial. Track enemy Flash (5-minute cooldown) and check enemy inventories for Quicksilver Sash or Silvermere Dawn before casting R Realm of Death. Ulting a target who cannot cleanse your realm guarantees a pick and secures an overwhelming late-game advantage.

Vision & Warding

Blue Side Starting Wards
Try placing a deep ward through the enemy's Krugs camp toward the Red Buff bush to spot where the enemy jungler starts. Because Mordekaiser lacks early mobility escape spells, tracking early jungle pathing is critical to prevent Level 3 ganks. If invading is too risky against strong Level 1 champions like Lee Sin or Shaco, place a defensive ward at your team's Blue Buff or river bush instead.
Red Side Starting Wards

When playing on Red side, place a ward around the enemy Raptors or Red entrance to identify their pathing. Because deep warding on Red side is more dangerous without dash tools, prioritize a river bush or pixel bush ward. Watch out for early invades from champions like Kindred or Jarvan IV, and drop a defensive ward near your Red Buff if necessary.

Control Ward Placements
Place Control Wards in defensive choke points where they survive long or spot stealth flanks from champions like Evelynn, Twitch, and Shaco. Relocate your control ward before major objective fights (Void Grubs, Dragon, Baron) to deny enemy vision, allowing you to set up deadly fog-of-war ambushes with E Death's Grasp into R Realm of Death.

Blue Side Offensive Wards

Place deep offensive wards in these areas when you are ahead, have destroyed the enemy Tier 1 tower, or hold permanent lane priority. Deep vision allows Mordekaiser to safely push towers and trap rotating enemies in Realm of Death.
Blue Side Defensive Wards
Place defensive wards in these spots when you are behind, lost your tower, or lack lane priority. Defensive vision prevents you from getting caught by high-burst ambush champions or strong lane bullies like Darius, Rengar, and Fiora.

Red Side Offensive Wards

Place deep offensive wards in these areas when you are ahead, have destroyed the enemy Tier 1 tower, or hold permanent lane priority. Deep vision allows Mordekaiser to safely push towers and trap rotating enemies in Realm of Death.
Red Side Defensive Wards
Place defensive wards in these spots when you are behind, lost your tower, or lack lane priority. Defensive vision prevents you from getting caught by high-burst ambush champions or strong lane bullies like Darius, Rengar, and Fiora.

Faelights

Faelights provide a massive vision radius buff to both your regular stealth wards and control wards. Place your wards on designated Faelight bushes to grant extended line-of-sight coverage deep into enemy jungle paths.

As Mordekaiser, your role in teamfights is that of a dominant Juggernaut frontline and premier anti-carry. While traditional tanks initiate with massive AoE crowd control, Mordekaiser reshapes teamfights by isolating key targets with Realm of Death and melting enemy frontlines with Darkness Rise.

Your presence dictates how the enemy team is forced to fight. By pulling a high-threat champion into your domain, you instantly convert a chaotic 5v5 into a favorable 4v4 for your allies while securing bonus stats for yourself upon victory.

Early teamfights are often chaotic river skirmishes around Void Grubs or early Dragons. Before committing, evaluate your pathing, arrival time, and whether your jungler is in position to follow up.

In early skirmishes, your primary goal is to activate Darkness Rise as quickly as possible. Use E Death's Grasp to drag multiple enemies together, land an isolated Q Obliterate, and basic attack to trigger your passive aura.

Time your W Indestructible shield to absorb critical enemy burst rather than recasting early for a small heal. Absorbing heavy damage while your passive constantly burns surrounding enemies will win extended 2v2 and 3v3 skirmishes.

Mid game teamfights revolve around major objective contests (Dragon, Baron, Herald). Teams will be more coordinated, making your target selection in Realm of Death vital.

Target Selection in Realm of Death:
• Deny the Smite: If an objective is low, ult the enemy Jungler right before Smite range to guarantee your team secures Dragon or Baron.
• Remove the Carry: Ult the enemy team's most fed mid laner or ADC to strip away their main damage source.
• Peel for Allies: If an enemy assassin or diver rushes your squishy backline, banish them into your realm to save your carries.

Do not engage recklessly without your team nearby. When you return from the Realm of Death with stolen stats, your team needs to be alive and positioned to clean up with your passive Darkness Rise AoE burn.

Late game teamfights carry massive risk and reward. With death timers exceeding 50+ seconds, a single bad decision or missed ultimate can lose the entire game. Play patiently and never throw your ultimate hastily.

Be patient and look for surefire angles. Track enemy Flash cooldowns and check enemy inventories for Quicksilver Sash before casting R Realm of Death.

If you are your team's primary frontline, focus on removing the single biggest enemy threat or protecting your carries. Utilizing Zhonya's Hourglass inside the Death Realm can stall out hypercarries while keeping them completely removed from the 4v4 teamfight taking place outside.

Once you emerge from the Death Realm with stolen stats, wade into the remaining fight as an unstoppable raid boss—burning all surviving enemies with Darkness Rise, shielding thousands of incoming damage with W Indestructible, and securing the game.

Mastering Realm of Death

Deciding when, where, and who to pull into Realm of Death is the single most important decision-making skill when playing Mordekaiser.

Stat Stealing Mechanic: Upon casting Realm of Death, you instantly steal 10% of the target's core stats (Attack Damage, Ability Power, Armor, Magic Resist, Attack Speed, and Max Health) for 7 seconds. If you kill them inside the Death Realm, you keep those stolen stats until the target respawns!

Baron / Dragon / Elder Smite Secures (Crucial): During major objective contests, your ultimate is the ultimate objective-securing tool in League of Legends. Banish the enemy Jungler into Realm of Death right as the objective reaches 2,000–3,000 HP. Trapping the enemy jungler inside your realm completely removes them from the real realm, rendering them unable to Smite the objective and guaranteeing your team an uncontested steal or secure.

Isolating High-Threat Carries: In teamfights, target fed enemy hypercarries (e.g., Jinx, Vayne, Syndra). Even if you do not kill them immediately, removing them from the fight for 7 seconds strips away 80% of the enemy team's damage output, allowing your allies to win the 4v4 on the outside.

Turning 1v2 Ganks Into 1v1s: When getting ganked by the enemy jungler, do not run! Wait for them to commit, then use R Realm of Death on whichever opponent is lower HP or squishier. Defeating them inside your realm grants you stolen stats and heals you through Conqueror and Triumph, allowing you to turn and double-kill the surviving attacker.

Peel & Backline Protection: If an enemy assassin or diver (e.g., Zed, Kha'Zix, Irelia) jumps onto your fed squishy carries, pull them into the Death Realm instantly. This denies their burst combo on your carry and forces them into a forced 1v1 with a raid boss.

Zhonya's Hourglass Stalling Tech: If you pull an enemy carry that is too fed or mobile to kill outright, cast R Realm of Death and immediately activate Zhonya's Hourglass. Stalling for 2.5 seconds inside your realm keeps the target completely useless and out of the main fight while taking zero damage yourself.

Cleanses & Counter-Mechanics Warning: Be extremely mindful before pressing R! Certain items and abilities can instantly cancel Realm of Death:
• Items: Quicksilver Sash (QSS) or Silvermere Dawn cleanses the Death Realm entirely.
• Abilities: Gangplank W Remove Scurvy, Olaf R Ragnarok, Alistar R Unbreakable Will, Milio R Breath of Life, and Rengar empowered W Battle Roar.
• Unstoppable States: Do not cast R on targets while they are currently unstoppable (e.g., Malphite R, Sion R, Vi R, Sett R). Wait for their animation to finish before casting.

Objective Control

Objectives are high-priority targets that grant game-winning advantages through gold, XP, vision, permanent stat buffs, and siege power.

Securing objectives is far more important than pad-padding your kill count. Teamfights and overall map macro revolve around contesting, trading, or controlling neutral objectives.

When preparing to contest an objective, evaluate key variables: Which team has the stronger 5v5 composition? Do you have vision control? Is your ultimate Realm of Death ready? Do you have numbers advantage? Developing the habit of calculating these factors before blindly rushing into river will drastically boost your win rate.

Whenever your team wins a teamfight or executes 2–3 key enemies, immediately transition into taking map objectives (Towers, Void Grubs, Dragon, Baron) rather than aimlessly chasing stragglers.

Jungle Camps
Counter-jungle whenever you push waves up to the enemy Tier 2 tower or when the enemy laner/jungler is dead. Stealing camps grants you gold and XP while starving the enemy jungler of resources.

Mordekaiser clears jungle camps extraordinarily fast thanks to isolated Q Obliterate damage and the max-monster damage cap on Darkness Rise. Look to clear enemy Gromp or Krugs after shoving waves into tower.

Use an Oracle Lens to clear enemy vision beforehand, or drop deep wards in the enemy jungle to ensure you aren't ambushed while stealing camps.

You can also ask your jungler for Blue Buff in the mid-to-late game—while Mordekaiser is manaless, the Ability Haste from Blue Buff allows you to spam Q and W much faster in teamfights.

Rift Scuttler
Rift Scuttler is a vital early objective spawning at 3:30. If both junglers path topside, crash a slow-pushed wave into the enemy tower so you can arrive at river first to give your jungler a 2v1 advantage.

Scuttler provides gold, XP, extended river vision, and a movement speed shrine for your entire team. Take it in the mid game whenever your jungler is elsewhere on the map.

Towers
Towers open up the map, grant teamwide gold, and unlock deep side-lane pressure.

As an AP Juggernaut, Mordekaiser's basic attacks scale directly with Ability Power against structures. Combined with rapid waveclear from Q Obliterate and E Death's Grasp, you melt towers and take plates quickly once you force your opponent out of lane.

Turret Plates & Crystalline Overgrowth: Collecting early tower plates accelerates your core AP item powerspikes. Focus on crashing big minion waves to secure plates before the 14-minute mark. Avoid taking Inhibitor towers before 20 minutes unless you can end the game immediately, as super minions grant heavy gold/XP to the enemy team.

Inhibitors
Destroying an Inhibitor forces super minions to spawn in that lane, creating automatic pushing pressure without requiring your team's presence.

Only destroy early Inhibitors if you can immediately force Baron or end the game. If taken too early, champions with strong AoE waveclear will farm super minions safely inside their base, allowing them to catch up in gold.

Dragon
Dragons grant permanent elemental stat buffs to your entire team.

Securing 4 Dragons unlocks Dragon Soul, providing game-warping permanent combat effects (Shields, Movement Speed, Burn Damage, or Sustained Healing).

Use Realm of Death during Dragon contests to banish the enemy Jungler, ensuring your team captures the dragon without fear of getting Smite stolen.

Voidgrubs
Void Grubs spawn in the Baron pit at 6:00 and grant the Touch of the Void buff, dealing true damage burn to towers.

Mordekaiser clears Void Grubs exceptionally fast using Darkness Rise AoE magic burn and isolated Q Obliterate slams on individual grubs.

Securing 4+ Void Grubs synergizes heavily with Mordekaiser's AP basic attacks against towers, turning you into a lethal split-pushing threat.

Rift Herald
Rift Herald is the premier early/mid-game sieging objective.

During Herald contests in the river pit, use R Realm of Death on the enemy jungler or top laner to guarantee your team secures the Eye of the Herald.

Summon Rift Herald in a lane with multiple tower plates remaining or use it to smash through Tier 2 towers to open up the enemy base.

Dragon Soul
Granted upon securing your team's 4th Dragon.

Dragon Soul provides massive permanent combat benefits. Combined with Mordekaiser's stat-stealing Realm of Death and raid-boss tankiness, Dragon Soul practically guarantees victory in late-game teamfights.

Elder Dragon
The ultimate teamfight-ending objective in League of Legends.

Elder Dragon grants true damage burn on all attacks/abilities and instantly executes any enemy champion brought below 20% Max Health.

Always use R Realm of Death on the enemy Jungler when Elder Dragon reaches Smite HP threshold to guarantee your team secures the buff.

Baron Nashor
Baron Nashor grants massive teamwide gold, AD/AP stats, empowered recalls, and heavily buffs surrounding minions to breach enemy bases.

Mordekaiser's Darkness Rise passive deals maximum capped monster burn damage to Baron, melting its health pool rapidly alongside allies.

Banish the enemy jungler into Realm of Death to lock down Baron without risk of getting Smite stolen.

Nexus
The ultimate goal of every game.

Destroy the enemy Nexus to win the match.

K/D/A is irrelevant if you fail to translate kills into objectives and Nexus destruction. Play with macro purpose, take objectives, and break the Nexus.

Attack Damage Carries

Champions who thrive when Mordekaiser isolates high-threat divers and tanks

Mordekaiser provides incredible relief for fragile AD carries by using Realm of Death to instantly remove dive threats, fed assassins, or frontline tanks from the main teamfight.

Once you banish the primary threat into your Death Realm, stationary hypercarries like Jinx or Kog'Maw can freely deal DPS from the backline without fear of getting collapsed on.

Your E Death's Grasp serves as both a tool to pull fleeing enemies into your ADC's range and a reliable peel mechanism to drag assassin divers away from your backline carries.

Heavy Engage & Tanks

Sets up Mordekaiser's skillshots and enables devastating CC chains

Mordekaiser lacks long-range initiation, so having a hard engage teammate execute the initial jump allows you to follow up without getting kited beforehand.

When tanks lock down or group enemies together, landing maximum isolated Q Obliterate damage and multi-target E Death's Grasp pulls becomes virtually guaranteed.

Engage tanks allow you to comfortably cast Realm of Death on key targets without leaving your team vulnerable, as your tank keeps the remaining 4 enemies occupied while you secure the kill in the Death Realm.

Enchanters & Utility Mages

Covers Mordekaiser's mobility gaps and transforms him into an unkillable raid boss

As an AP Juggernaut, Mordekaiser's primary weakness is mobility. Enchanters providing movement speed boosts (like Lulu or Nami) allow you to close gaps easily and maintain Darkness Rise aura range.

Shielding and healing supports synergize extraordinarily well with Mordekaiser's W Indestructible, making your effective health pool nearly impossible for enemies to burn through.

Control mages like Orianna or Seraphine can pull off devastating shockwave/charm combos on targets grouped up by your E Death's Grasp.

Aatrox the Darkin Blade
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Q1/Q2 Sweetspots, E-Q3, W-Q2-Q3, R World Ender
This is a skill-based matchup for Mordekaiser that slightly tilts in your favor once you reach level 6 and pick up anti-heal.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest or Oblivion Orb on your first back to cut down his physical damage and innate healing from Deathbringer Stance and E Umbral Dash.

Taking Flash and Teleport or Ghost works great here. Ghost allows you to sidestep his Q knockups easily and stick to him during extended all-ins.

Avoid taking free damage from his Q The Darkin Blade sweetspots early. Move diagonally or walk straight *into* him during Q1/Q2 so you sit inside the safe zone instead of the knockup edge.

Aatrox's W Infernal Chains gets blocked by minions. Stay positioned behind your wave so he cannot pull you into guaranteed Q2/Q3 sweetspots.

Use your W Indestructible shield strategically to absorb his Q3 damage or his E-Q burst when trading.

At Level 6, hold your R Realm of Death until AFTER Aatrox activates his R World Ender. Casting your Ult steals his stats—including the bonus Attack Damage and amplified healing from his ultimate.

Your E Death's Grasp can be used reactively to pull him out of his Q sweetspot animations or disrupt his combo rhythm during trades.

Once you complete Rylai's Crystal Scepter, your Darkness Rise passive aura continuously slows him, preventing him from spacing his Q sweetspots properly in melee combat.

Track his E Umbral Dash cooldown. When his dash is down, he lacks mobility to dodge your isolated Q Obliterate slams or E Death's Grasp.

Max Q Obliterate first for maximum dueling power, followed by E Death's Grasp for passive Magic Penetration to cut through any early Magic Resist he buys.

Watch out for his power spikes with Sunderer Sky or Eclipse, as his burst healing can surprise you if you let him land a clean Q3 + passive auto combination.

In teamfights, look to trap Aatrox inside Realm of Death to negate his AoE drain-tanking potential and prevent him from getting resets with R World Ender on your squishier teammates.

Akali, the Rogue Assassin
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Kaenic Rookern, Riftmaker, Jak'Sho, The Protean
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Tip of Q (applies a slow), Q-AA, E1-E2-AA-Q, R1-E-E2-R2 execute burst, W Twilight Shroud stalling
This is a very easy matchup for Mordekaiser. Once you get early Magic Resist, Akali cannot stat-check or burst you down.

Start Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind to easily heal back her early Q Five Point Strike poke during the first few levels.

Your passive Darkness Rise is a hard counter to her W Twilight Shroud. Even when she hides in stealth, your passive aura continues to burn her as long as you stick close to her location.

Rush Mercury's Treads or an early Spectre's Cowl / Negatron Cloak. Once you have early Magic Resist, her kill threat drops to zero.

Hold your R Realm of Death until AFTER she drops her W Twilight Shroud. Pulling her into the Death Realm leaves her shroud behind in Summoner's Rift, stripping away her primary defensive tool.

Use E Death's Grasp reactively to pull her out of her E2 Shuriken Flip dash mid-air or disrupt her combo rhythm when she tries to trade.

Punish her with isolated Q Obliterate slams whenever she steps up to lasthit or attempt to proc her passive Assassin's Mark auto-attacks on you.

Once you complete Rylai's Crystal Scepter, your passive aura continuously slows her inside trades, making it impossible for her to space or escape.

Respect her level 6 power spike if she runs Ignite before you've backed for Magic Resist, as her full R Perfect Execution combo can burst you if you take too much free poke beforehand.

In teamfights, use R Realm of Death to isolate Akali away from your squishy carries, negating her flank angles and preventing her from assassinating your backline.

Akshan, the Rogue Sentinel
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Randuin's Omen, Riftmaker
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Q Avengerang extended poke, Double Auto-attacks, E Heroic Swing kiting, W Going Rogue stealth roams, R Comeuppance execute
This is a tough, ranged lane bully matchup for Mordekaiser during the early levels until you stack physical defense and reach level 6.

Start Doran's Shield combined with Second Wind to sustain through his auto-attack harass and Q Avengerang poke during early levels.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest or Seeker's Armguard on your first back to cut down his physical damage and double-hit passive.

Akshan's E Heroic Swing stops immediately if he collides with a champion. Position yourself directly in his swing path or use E Death's Grasp mid-flight to cancel his escape.

Avoid taking extended trades at levels 1-3. Play patient, concede minor CS if needed, and let the wave push toward your tower to stay healthy.

At Level 6, your R Realm of Death turns the tide. Look to all-in him when his E Heroic Swing is on cooldown or when he is trapped in narrow terrain inside the Death Realm.

Use your W Indestructible shield to absorb his Q Avengerang poke or short burst trades when stepping up to last-hit.

Once you complete Rylai's Crystal Scepter, your Darkness Rise passive continuously slows him, preventing him from kiting you after you get into melee range.

You can block Akshan's ultimate R Comeuppance by standing behind minion waves, allied champions, or active turret structures.

Akshan will look to roam with W Going Rogue stealth when he cannot kill you. Keep vision in the river and ping missing immediately when he leaves vision.

In teamfights, pull Akshan into Realm of Death to negate his high damage output and prevent him from getting resets or reviving dead teammates via his passive.

Camille, the Steel Shadow
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating/ Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: AA-Q1, Q2 True Damage, W Tactical Sweep (Outer Edge), E Hookshot stun, R Hextech Ultimatum
This is a skill-dependent matchup that favors Mordekaiser in extended trades early-to-mid game, but Camille scales hard with True Damage later on.

Pay close attention to her main trading cooldowns: Passive Adaptive Defenses, W Tactical Sweep, and E Hookshot.

Because Mordekaiser deals magic damage, Camille's passive Adaptive Defenses will grant her a **Magic Shield** whenever she auto-attacks you. Bait or proc this shield with a simple auto or basic Q, then wait 2 seconds for it to expire before going for a full trade.

Her Q Precision Protocol deals massive True Damage on Q2 after a 1.5-second delay. Time your W Indestructible shield to absorb her Q2 burst directly, as shield health fully mitigates True Damage.

When she casts W Tactical Sweep, step inside the inner cone or walk straight toward her if you can't back off in time to deny her the outer edge heal, slow, and max-HP damage.

Your E Death's Grasp can reactively knock Camille off walls or interrupt her dash mid-flight when she uses E Hookshot.

At Level 6, hold R Realm of Death until AFTER she uses R Hextech Ultimatum. Trapping her in the Death Realm strips away her golden arena completely, depriving her of her primary tether advantage.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest to reduce her Physical auto-attack damage and cut down her sustain from W Tactical Sweep and Ravenous Hydra.

Once you buy Rylai's Crystal Scepter, your Darkness Rise passive aura continuously slows her, preventing her from spacing in and out with short Q hit-and-run trades.

In the late game, Camille will look to split-push and chunk you down with fast Q2 True Damage cycles. Avoid chasing her across side lanes without vision, as her high mobility lets her dictate engagements.

In teamfights, look to isolate Camille with R Realm of Death when she dives your backline carries, saving your team from her heavy lockdown and single-target elimination.

Cho'Gath, the Terror of the Void
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Liandry's Torment, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Riftmaker, Kaenic Rookern/ Abyssal Mask, Jak'Sho, The Protean
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Q Rupture knockup, W Feral Scream silence, E Vorpal Spikes, R Feast True Damage execute
This is a heavily favorable matchup for Mordekaiser. You serve as one of Cho'Gath's biggest direct counters due to your max HP% burn damage and stat-stealing capabilities.

In the laning phase, focus on dodging his Q Rupture knockup circle. Look to force extended trades with Conqueror, as Cho'Gath cannot sustain through your persistent Darkness Rise aura in close-range combat.

Cho'Gath's W Feral Scream silence can temporarily prevent you from popping your W Indestructible shield or casting Q Obliterate. Be proactive with your shield timing before he silences you.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind early on to completely neutralize his E Vorpal Spikes ranged poke and passive Carnivore sustain.

Punish Cho'Gath heavily every time he steps up to hit minions by hitting him with isolated Q Obliterate slams.

Cho'Gath's passive Carnivore heals and restores mana on minion kills, so don't let him farm for free without taking damage in return.

Cho'Gath's R Feast deals massive True Damage that ignores armor and magic resist once you drop below his execute threshold (indicated by a glowing marker beneath your feet).

Save your fully charged W Indestructible shield for when you get low on health to absorb his R Feast true damage burst before he can execute you.

Avoid standing directly behind low-health minions when his E Vorpal Spikes is toggled on, as the spikes pass through units and deal magic damage.

Rush Mercury's Treads early to drastically reduce the duration of his Q knockup and W silence, making it effortless to stick to him.

Rush Liandry's Torment as your first core item. The passive % max HP burn combined with your passive aura will melt his health pool regardless of how many R Feast stacks he acquires.

Cho'Gath gaining massive HP through R Feast actually works against him when fighting you—your R Realm of Death steals 10% of his core stats, granting you huge bonus Health, AP, and resistances during the duel.

Use your E Death's Grasp to pull Cho'Gath into melee range whenever he misses his Q Rupture, forcing an all-in where you naturally win the stat check.

In teamfights, pull Cho'Gath into Realm of Death to steal his massive stat pool and neutralize his frontline presence, leaving his squishy backline vulnerable to your team.

Even in the late game when Cho'Gath scales heavily off HP, Mordekaiser continues to out-duel him thanks to item synergies like Riftmaker and Liandry's Torment.

Darius, the Hand of Noxus
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind/ Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Hemorrhage (5 stacks), Q Decimate outer edge heal, E Apprehend pull, R Noxian Guillotine execute
This is a tough, high-threat matchup in the early game for Mordekaiser, especially if Darius manages to secure an early kill and snowball.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to ensure you survive his early laning phase pressure and bleed damage.

The matchup becomes much easier post-level 6 once you rush physical defense like Plated Steelcaps and Bramble Vest.

Be extremely careful with your level 1 positioning. Do not fight him at level 1, as he will run you down with Ghost, auto-attacks, and passive Hemorrhage stacks.

Darius will easily win extended 1v1 trades before you acquire armor items and ultimate Realm of Death.

Respect his level 6 power spike and keep track of his Ghost cooldown.

Disengage trades immediately once he reaches 3-4 stacks of passive Hemorrhage. Never fight him when he triggers Noxian Might (5 stacks), as he receives a massive AD boost and instantly applies maximum stacks with auto-attacks and Q Decimate's outer edge.

If you cannot run away when Darius casts Q Decimate, walk directly INTO his inner handle circle. This denies him the outer blade damage, prevents a passive Hemorrhage stack, and completely denies his missing health heal.

Rush Plated Steelcaps to mitigate his heavy auto-attack damage and mobility.

Rush Bramble Vest early to cut the healing on his Q Decimate outer edge and apply Grievous Wounds when he trades with auto-attacks.

Your W Indestructible shield is your primary tool to counter his ultimate Noxian Guillotine. Save a fully charged W shield to absorb his execute True Damage, preventing him from killing you and blocking his ultimate reset.

At level 6, your R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Attack Damage and defensive stats. Look to all-in him with ultimate when he misses his Q Decimate or uses E Apprehend wastefully.

Purchasing Rylai's Crystal Scepter allows your passive Darkness Rise aura to constantly slow him, giving you complete control over spacing during trades.

In teamfights, you must prevent Darius from reaching your squishy backline carries, as he can quickly execute them and start an ultimate Noxian Guillotine reset chain.

Use your ultimate R Realm of Death to isolate Darius away from your team, neutralizing his frontline presence and stopping him from stacking passive Hemorrhage on your allies.

Darius remains a potent side-lane duelist when equipped with Ghost. Avoid chasing him blindly in side lanes without vision or without your R Realm of Death available.

Dr. Mundo, the Madman of Zaun
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Liandry's Torment, Oblivion Orb/ Morellonomicon, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Riftmaker, Jak'Sho, The Protean
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Goes Where He Pleases canister, Q Infected Bonesaw poke/slow, E Blunt Force Trauma minion launch, R Maximum Dosage burst heal
This is a very favorable poke-and-scale matchup for Mordekaiser. You serve as one of Dr. Mundo's hardest counters because your % max HP damage shreds his health-stacking build.

In early laning, Dr. Mundo will try to farm and chip away at your health from range using Q Infected Bonesaw and launching dead minions with E Blunt Force Trauma.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to comfortably sustain through his early Q Infected Bonesaw spam and stay healthy for all-in opportunities.

CRITICAL INTERACTION: Dr. Mundo's passive Goes Where He Pleases blocks the next hard CC ability that hits him. This includes your ultimate! **If you cast R Realm of Death while his passive shield is active, it will be completely blocked and wasted.**

Always break his passive shield first with E Death's Grasp before using R Realm of Death. Alternatively, wait for him to drop his canister, step on it to destroy it, and then cast your ultimate.

Whenever you pop his passive canister, prioritize stepping on it immediately. Denying him the canister stops him from recovering a huge chunk of health and keeps his passive on a long cooldown.

In extended trades, Dr. Mundo cannot compete with your damage once your passive Darkness Rise is active. Look to force close-range melee fights whenever he steps up to last-hit.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb the impact of his Q Infected Bonesaw cleavers or his empowered E Blunt Force Trauma physical strikes.

Build anti-heal early— Oblivion Orb or Bramble Vest—to cut down the massive health regeneration on his R Maximum Dosage and the grey health heal from his W Heart Zapper.

Rush Liandry's Torment as your core first item. The passive burn combined with your Darkness Rise aura deals double % max HP magic damage, melting his health pool in seconds.

When you trap Dr. Mundo in R Realm of Death, you steal 10% of his massive health and defensive stats. Stolen health from a high-HP tank turns Mordekaiser into an unstoppable raid boss during the duel.

Dr. Mundo deals mixed damage (magic damage on Q Infected Bonesaw and W Heart Zapper, physical on E Blunt Force Trauma). Mercury's Treads are ideal here to cut his Q slow duration while offering magic resistance.

Follow up with Rylai's Crystal Scepter to keep him perma-slowed, preventing him from running away with the bonus movement speed from his R Maximum Dosage.

In sidelanes, Dr. Mundo may try to push towers with Demolish (which scales off his max HP). You easily match and kill him solo once you have Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker.

In teamfights, Dr. Mundo acts purely as a damage sponge and backline disturber. You can either use R Realm of Death to eliminate him instantly, or ignore him and isolate the enemy ADC while leaving Mundo to deal negligible damage to your frontline.

Fiora, the Grand Duelist
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating/ Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Duelist's Dance vitals, Q Lunge poke, W Riposte parry/stun, E Bladework, R Grand Challenge True Damage
This is a difficult, skill-intensive matchup for Mordekaiser that heavily favors Fiora in the mid-to-late game due to her scaling % max HP True Damage.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind (or Bone Plating) to sustain through her early Q Lunge vital poke during laning.

You can reset unfavorable vital positions from her passive Duelist's Dance by simply walking backward out of her vision range until the vital disappears and spawns in a safer location behind you.

CRITICAL INTERACTION: Fiora's W Riposte can completely parry and negate your R Realm of Death, putting your ultimate on full cooldown while granting her an easy slow or stun! **NEVER cast R Realm of Death unless her W Riposte is on cooldown or you bait it out first.**

Her W Riposte also massively slows your attack speed and movement speed even if it doesn't block CC. Mind-game her parry by holding isolated Q Obliterate slams or casting E Death's Grasp off-angle.

Fiora's passive Duelist's Dance deals % max HP True Damage, completely bypassing your armor. Time your W Indestructible shield to absorb the True Damage bursts whenever she lunges for a vital.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first back. Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds every time she auto-attacks or Qs you, severely cutting down her vital heals and lifesteal.

When Fiora casts R Grand Challenge, immediately back up and **hug a wall** to block the 4th vital. This prevents her from completing the full True Damage sequence and denies her team-wide AoE heal zone.

If you manage to trap Fiora in R Realm of Death after her W Riposte is down, the tight Death Realm boundaries restrict her mobility, allowing your Darkness Rise passive aura and Conqueror to overpower her early-to-mid game.

Purchasing Rylai's Crystal Scepter makes it significantly harder for her to space in and out around you to hit vitals once your passive aura is active.

In late-game side lanes, Fiora will out-duel you in extended 1v1 fights. Avoid chasing her deep without team support—defend under tower, clear waves safely, or look to proxy to maintain map presence.

Mordekaiser vastly outclasses Fiora in teamfights. Use R Realm of Death to isolate her when she attempts to dive your backline, neutralizing her dueling threats and securing a 5v4 advantage for your team.

Gangplank, the Saltwater Scourge
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen, Thornmail/ Morellonomicon
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Trial By Fire true damage burn, Q Parrrley poke, W Remove Scurvy cleanse, E Powder Keg barrel chains / ghost barrels, R Cannon Barrage global waveclear
This is a poke-heavy, skill-dependent matchup for Mordekaiser that requires careful cooldown tracking in order to force wins in all-ins.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to sustain through his ranged Q Parrrley harass and early E Powder Keg barrel poke during the laning phase.

CRITICAL INTERACTION: Gangplank's W Remove Scurvy (his orange) **completely cleanses and escapes your ultimate R Realm of Death**. If you use R on him while his W is off cooldown, he will instantly eat his orange and walk right out!

You must bait out his W Remove Scurvy first with trading, or wait until he uses it to heal before casting R Realm of Death. Alternatively, use R simply to force out his orange and save your remaining abilities to finish him in standard combat.

Watch out for his E Powder Keg barrel chains. Barrels ignore 40% of your armor and grant Gangplank a burst of movement speed when detonated. Use your W Indestructible shield to absorb the burst damage from barrel detonations.

Try to contest his barrels by auto-attacking them when they drop to 1 tick health, but be cautious—experienced Gangplank players have faster timing with auto-attacks or Q Parrrley.

Higher-skilled Gangplank players will use "ghost barrels" (placing a connecting barrel mid-animation during Q) or hide barrels in bushes. Keep lane brushes warded so you aren't surprised by unexpected barrel chains.

Gangplank's passive Trial By Fire deals scaling True Damage and refreshes every time he detonates a barrel. Avoid letting him hit you with back-to-back passive auto-attacks during close-range trades.

Rush Plated Steelcaps on your first recall to reduce damage from his Q Parrrley and auto-attacks while gaining movement speed to close the gap.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core item. Once your Darkness Rise passive aura activates, the permanent slow overrides Gangplank's movement speed boosts, stopping him from kiting you out.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Because Gangplank builds squishy glass-cannon crit/lethality items, your AP burn and sustained melee damage will melt his health pool quickly.

In the late game, build Randuin's Omen to heavily reduce the incoming critical strike damage from his E Powder Keg explosions.

In teamfights, Gangplank wants to sit back and land AoE barrel chains. Use E Death's Grasp to pull him out of position and force his W Remove Scurvy, leaving him vulnerable to follow-up CC from your team.

In side-lane duels, once you have Rylai's Crystal Scepter and core items, you heavily out-duel Gangplank if you close the distance, as he cannot survive extended combat against Conqueror and Darkness Rise.

Garen, the Might of Demacia
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating/ Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Perseverance heal, Q Decisive Strike silence, W Courage shield/tenacity, E Judgment armor shred, R Demacian Justice True Damage execute
This is a favorable, stat-check matchup for Mordekaiser. You beat Garen in almost every extended trade throughout the game, as your continuous AP damage bypasses his physical durability.

In early laning, Garen will look to trade using his Q Decisive Strike silence into E Judgment spin before backing off to heal up with his passive Perseverance.

When Garen uses Q Decisive Strike to run at you, cast E Death's Grasp off to the side or behind you to pull him into melee range, or cast Q Obliterate right before the silence hits so your damage goes through during the silence duration.

Be careful when Garen spins with E Judgment. If he hits you with 6 ticks, it shreds 25% of your armor—however, because Mordekaiser deals primarily AP damage, his armor shred is largely ineffective against you.

Take Bone Plating to heavily reduce the incoming burst from his short Q-E trades, or Second Wind to keep pace with his passive Perseverance sustain.

Do not let Garen regen for free! Whenever his passive Perseverance triggers, hit him with a quick isolated Q Obliterate or auto-attack to put his passive back on cooldown.

Watch out for his W Courage active! It grants him a shield, damage reduction, and 60% tenacity for the first 0.75 seconds. Avoid blowing your primary cooldowns immediately after he activates W.

Garen's R Demacian Justice deals massive True Damage scaling with missing health. Time your W Indestructible shield to absorb his ultimate execute burst when you drop low.

Rush Plated Steelcaps on your first recall to mitigate his physical auto-attacks and Q Decisive Strike damage while matching his movement speed.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first item. The permanent slow on your Darkness Rise passive completely counteracts Garen's movement speed boosts and prevents him from kiting away after trading.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Garen cannot match your sustained damage in extended fights once Conqueror and your passive aura are fully stacked.

At level 6, your R Realm of Death steals 10% of Garen's Attack Damage and Armor/MR. Inside the Death Realm, Garen has nowhere to run or kite, making all-in duels almost guaranteed wins for you.

Once Garen completes Stridebreaker and Phantom Dancer or Dead Man's Plate, he will look to clear waves instantly and roam. Keep waves pushed to trap him under his tower and deny his map mobility.

In teamfights, Garen plays as a flanker or frontline disruptor looking to execute squishies. Use R Realm of Death to isolate him before he reaches your backline, trapping him and stripping his defensive stats.

In late-game side lanes, you completely shut down Garen's split-pushing efforts, as he can never face tank your AP burn damage in a 1v1 duel.

Gnar, the Missing Link
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Thornmail/ Bramble Vest, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Mini W Hyper % HP damage/MS, Mini E Hop escape, Mega Gnar transformation, Mega W Wallop stun, Mega R GNAR! wall slam
This is a ranged poke-and-kite matchup in the early laning phase where Gnar will attempt to harass you from distance in Mini form using Q Boomerang Throw, auto-attacks, and 3-ring W Hyper procs.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to comfortably sustain through his early ranged poke and stay healthy enough to look for all-in opportunities.

Track Gnar's E Hop cooldown carefully. In Mini form, his E jump has a very long cooldown (~18 seconds early). Whenever he wastes his jump, look to land E Death's Grasp to pull him in and force a heavily favored trade.

Watch out for his 3-ring W Hyper passive procs. It deals % max HP magic damage and grants him a massive burst of movement speed to kite away. Avoid letting him land 3 consecutive auto/ability hits for free.

Respect his Rage bar! As his Rage reaches 100%, he transforms into Mega Gnar, gaining substantial bonus Health, Armor, Magic Resist, Attack Damage, and heavy crowd control.

When facing Mega Gnar, **stay clear of terrain and walls!** Mega Gnar will look to leap with E Hop and cast R GNAR! to slam you into a wall for a devastating stun and burst combo.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb Mega Gnar's heavy CC burst sequence (Q Boulder Toss and W Wallop slam).

Rush Plated Steelcaps on your first recall to reduce his physical auto-attack harassment and gain the movement speed needed to match his kiting.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first item. Once your Darkness Rise passive aura activates, the permanent slow overrides his W Hyper movement speed boost and locks him down in melee range.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Mega Gnar in R Realm of Death steals 10% of his inflated base stats (Health, AD, Armor, and MR). Stealing Mega Gnar's boosted stats turns Mordekaiser into an unstoppable raid boss during the duel!

Alternatively, if Mega Gnar transforms during your ultimate duel, he will revert back to squishy Mini Gnar near the end of the Death Realm, leaving him trapped in melee range without an escape route.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. The continuous % max HP burn melts both Mini and Mega Gnar quickly in extended fights.

In teamfights, Gnar's primary win condition is landing a game-changing 5-man Mega Gnar R GNAR! wall stun. Use your R Realm of Death to isolate him right before or as he jumps into your team, completely neutralizing his engage.

In side-lane duels, once you have Rylai's Crystal Scepter and core items, you heavily out-duel Gnar if you close the distance, as he cannot survive sustained damage from Conqueror and Darkness Rise.

Gragas, the Rabble Rouser
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Kaenic Rookern/ Abyssal Mask, Spirit Visage
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Happy Hour heal, Q Barrel Roll poke/slow, W Drunken Rage damage reduction/% HP strike, E Body Slam dash/stun, R Explosive Cask knockback ("BOMBA!")
“BOMBA!”

This is a farm-heavy, neutral-to-favorable matchup for Mordekaiser. While Gragas has exceptional self-peel and short-trade potential, he lacks the sustained damage to fight you in extended melee combat.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to comfortably sustain through his Q Barrel Roll poke and passive Happy Hour healing during the laning phase.

Watch out for his E Body Slam stun! Gragas will look to trade using E Body Slam into empowered W Drunken Rage auto-attack and Q Barrel Roll, then disengage before you can stack your passive.

When Gragas charges in with E Body Slam, cast E Death's Grasp or Q Obliterate directly on him mid-dash. Even if he stuns you, your ability cast animation will still complete, forcing a trade in your favor.

Respect his W Drunken Rage active! It grants him flat percentage damage reduction for 2.5 seconds and makes his next auto-attack deal % max HP magic damage. Avoid dumping your burst damage while his W damage reduction is active.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb his short burst combos (E Body Slam + W Drunken Rage strike or charged Q explosions).

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Gragas will save his R Explosive Cask to knock you away whenever you cast R Realm of Death. Be mindful of your positioning in the Death Realm—if he knocks you back into the wall, he can easily run out the duration.

Wait until Gragas wastes his E Body Slam or R Explosive Cask before casting R Realm of Death. Without his disengage spells available, he cannot survive your Darkness Rise aura and Conqueror damage within the enclosed boundary.

Rush Mercury's Treads on your first recall to gain Magic Resist, cut the stun duration of his E Body Slam, and match his kiting mobility.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first item. Once your Darkness Rise passive aura activates, the continuous slow prevents Gragas from walking away after short trades.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Gragas cannot out-sustain or out-damage your AP percentage health burn in extended fights.

If Gragas builds full AP to pull off high-burst "BOMBA" combos, build Kaenic Rookern or Abyssal Mask to negate his burst damage completely and turn him into free gold.

In teamfights, Gragas aims to disrupt your team with a massive R Explosive Cask engage or peel for his carries. Use R Realm of Death to isolate him before he can displace your team, completely neutralizing his teamfight impact.

In late-game side lanes, Gragas can be very slippery due to high Ability Haste on E Body Slam, but he can never face-tank or contest your waveclear and tower pressure.

Gwen, the Hallowed Seamstress
Overall difficulty: 4.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind/ Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Oblivion Orb/ Morellonomicon, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Kaenic Rookern
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Thousand Cuts % HP damage/heal, Q Snip Snip! true damage center, W Hallowed Mist untargetability, E Skip 'n Slash dash, R Needlework multi-cast needle slow
"TOP LANE WAIFU DIFF"

This is an extremely tough, hard-counter matchup for Mordekaiser. Gwen's kit inherently counters stat-checking AP bruisers thanks to her % max HP AP damage, True Damage center on Q Snip Snip!, and superior scaling.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind (or Bone Plating) to survive her early level 1-2 trading pressure and E Skip 'n Slash auto-attack harassment.

Be extremely wary of her 4-stack Q Snip Snip!! The center cone of her scissors converts part of the damage into True Damage and applies her passive Thousand Cuts % max HP damage on every snip. Never stand in the center when she has full stacks.

CRITICAL INTERACTION: Gwen's W Hallowed Mist makes her untargetable to enemies outside the mist boundary. If you stand outside her mist, you **CANNOT** target her with R Realm of Death or hit her with E Death's Grasp. Always step inside her mist circle before casting abilities on her!

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb the center-cone True Damage burst from her 4-stack Q Snip Snip! or the multi-hit needle sequence from her R Needlework.

Gwen receives massive healing from her passive Thousand Cuts and core build ( Riftmaker). Rush Oblivion Orb early on your first or second back—it provides AP anti-heal without forcing you into suboptimal armor items against an AP champion.

Rush Mercury's Treads early to gain Magic Resist, match her dash mobility, and reduce the heavy slows from her multi-cast R Needlework.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Gwen in R Realm of Death steals 10% of her Ability Power and defensive stats, which slightly helps weaken her scaling in mid-game all-ins. However, the Death Realm's enclosed arena gives her easy close-range targets for her multi-cast R Needlework.

Purchasing Rylai's Crystal Scepter allows your Darkness Rise passive aura to continuously slow her, making it harder for her to space around your skillshots with E Skip 'n Slash.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to match her sustained damage, and consider Kaenic Rookern in the late game to survive her late-game AP shred.

In late-game side-lane duels, Gwen heavily out-scales Mordekaiser and will beat you 1v1. Avoid fighting her extended solo duels late game unless you have a substantial gold advantage.

In teamfights, look to peel Gwen off your backline using E Death's Grasp or isolate her teamfight impact with R Realm of Death before she can land a multi-hit R Needlework on your entire team.

Heimerdinger, the Revered Inventor
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Kaenic Rookern, Force of Nature
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Q H-28G Evolution Turret zoning, W Hextech Micro-Rockets poke, E CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade stun, R UPGRADE!!! empowered spells
Laning against Heimerdinger is extremely oppressive early on. His constant ranged poke, zoning turrets, and self-peel make early laning a test of patience for Mordekaiser.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to comfortably sustain through his Q turret laser beams and W Hextech Micro-Rockets harassment.

CRITICAL INTERACTION: When you cast R Realm of Death on Heimerdinger, **NONE of his pre-placed Q turrets follow him into the Death Realm!** He is completely stripped of his turret nest, leaving him exposed in 1v1 melee combat unless he has spare Q charges or casts R-Q inside.

Use isolated Q Obliterate from range to clear his Q H-28G Evolution Turret setups whenever possible. One isolated Q slam usually destroys or heavily damages his turrets without putting you in danger.

Bait out his E CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade stun bomb! Heimerdinger is extremely fragile and immobile without his stun. Once his E is on cooldown, land E Death's Grasp to pull him out of his turret zone and force an all-in.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb the burst from his E stun or his R+W Hextech Micro-Rockets burst sequence.

Rush Mercury's Treads on your first recall. The Magic Resist mitigates his poke, and the Tenacity heavily reduces the duration of his E CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade stun.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core item. Once your Darkness Rise passive activates inside R Realm of Death, the continuous slow prevents him from kiting you while trapped in the arena.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Heimerdinger builds squishy AP items, so your percentage health AP burn and sustained melee damage will melt him in seconds.

If Heimerdinger builds heavy AP or completes Liandry's Torment, build Kaenic Rookern or Force of Nature in the mid-to-late game to completely invalidate his magic damage output.

In teamfights, Heimerdinger excels at objective control by setting up massive turret zones and using R-Q H-28G Evolution Turret apex turrets. Use R Realm of Death to pull him away from his team and his turrets, completely ruining his zone control.

In late-game side-lane duels, once you have MR and core AP items, you heavily out-duel Heimerdinger as long as you use R Realm of Death to negate his turret setup.

Irelia, the Blade Dancer
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Ionian Fervor stacks, Q Bladesurge resets, W Defiant Dance physical damage reduction, E Flawless Duet stun, R Vanguard's Edge slow/mark
This is a favorable, stat-check matchup for Mordekaiser. While Irelia has high mobility through low-health minions, you heavily out-damage her in extended melee duels once your passive activated.

Take Bone Plating to negate her burst when she attempts to dash onto you with Q Bladesurge and stack her passive.

Respect her passive Ionian Fervor! Avoid trading with Irelia at level 1-2 when she has 4 stacks on low-health minions, as her bonus attack speed and magic damage on-hit can overwhelm you early.

Fight her when there are no low-health enemy minions nearby. Without minion resets for her Q Bladesurge, she loses all her mobility and is forced to stand in your continuous AP damage.

Watch out for her W Defiant Dance! Note that her W physical damage reduction does **NOT** reduce magic damage, meaning your isolated Q Obliterate slams and Darkness Rise passive aura still deal full damage while she channels it.

Dodge her E Flawless Duet stun! If she lands E on you, she gets a free mark for a Q Bladesurge reset and extended trade setup.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall. Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds whenever she Qs or auto-attacks you, cutting down her massive lifesteal from Blade of the Ruined King.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first item. Once your Darkness Rise passive aura triggers, the permanent slow keeps her glued to you in melee range even if she tries to dash away.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Irelia in R Realm of Death strips her of external minion waves for Q Bladesurge resets. In a isolated Death Realm with nowhere to dash, Mordekaiser completely out-stat-checks her.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. In extended combat, Irelia cannot match the sustained AP burn damage from your Conqueror and passive aura.

Build Randuin's Omen in the late game to reduce her critical strike/auto-attack damage output and slow her movement speed during side-lane split pushes.

In teamfights, Irelia looks to hit a multi-man R Vanguard's Edge engage. Use R Realm of Death to isolate her immediately as she dashes in, saving your backline from being wiped.

Jax, Grandmaster at Arms
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Relentless Assault attack speed, Q Leap Strike mobility, W Empower auto reset, E Counter Strike dodge/stun, R Grandmaster at Arms bonus armor/MR
A skill-dependent matchup that turns into a heavy scaling side-lane war. Jax's E Counter Strike dodge and attack speed scaling make him a dangerous duelist, but Mordekaiser can win extended mid-game trades with proper ability usage.

Take Bone Plating to negate his initial burst whenever he leaps onto you with Q Leap Strike and empowered auto-attacks.

Respect his passive Relentless Assault! Avoid taking extended trades when Jax has fully stacked his passive attack speed on the minion wave.

Watch out for his E Counter Strike! It dodges all incoming basic attacks and reduces incoming AOE damage. Do **NOT** waste auto-attacks on him while he is spinning his lamp.

When Jax activates E Counter Strike and leaps on you with Q Leap Strike, immediately cast E Death's Grasp to pull him away from you, preventing him from landing the stun.

Your Q Obliterate slam is spell damage and still hits Jax through his E Counter Strike dodge! Aim isolated Qs at him when he tries to farm or initiate trades.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first back. Plated Steelcaps cuts his auto-attack damage, while Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds when he builds Blade of the Ruined King.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: If Jax activates his R grandmaster at arms *before* you trap him in R Realm of Death, you will steal 10% of his inflated bonus Armor and Magic Resist stats!

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core item. The continuous slow from your Darkness Rise passive keeps Jax stuck to you once his Q Leap Strike is on cooldown, making it impossible for him to disengage.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb the stun damage from his E Counter Strike or his 3rd-hit passive R burst.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to melt his health bar through extended AP burn damage.

Build Randuin's Omen in the late game to reduce his overall auto-attack damage and slow his movement speed during side-lane split-push duels.

In teamfights, use R Realm of Death to pull Jax away from your backline carries before he can stun them with an E-Q engage.

Jayce, the Defender of Tomorrow
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Thornmail, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Acceleration Gate + Shock Blast (Ranged E-Q), To the Skies! (Melee Q), Thundering Blow (Melee E knockback), Transform bonuses
A ranged-versus-melee skill matchup that heavily favors Mordekaiser once you hit level 6. Jayce can harass you early with ranged auto-attacks, but lacks the sustained defensive stats to fight you in close quarters.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to neutralize his early ranged auto-attack poking and Acceleration Gate + Shock Blast (E-Q) shockwave damage.

Respect his level 1-3 range and poke. Avoid taking free auto-attacks while last-hitting minion waves; stand behind your minion wave to block his Shock Blast skillshot.

Watch out for his Melee E Thundering Blow knockback! When you try to engage on him, Jayce will attempt to switch to Hammer Form and knock you back to interrupt your trade.

Use your E Death's Grasp **after** he uses his Melee E Thundering Blow knockback. Once his main disengage ability is on cooldown, pulling him back in guarantees an extended trade with your passive Darkness Rise activated.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb his empowered ranged Shock Blast or his melee leap combo damage.

Rush Plated Steelcaps on your first recall. The flat Armor and basic-attack damage reduction effectively shut down his early AD lethality burst and auto-attack poke.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Jayce in R Realm of Death eliminates his space to kite you. Without room to disengage with Acceleration Gate, Mordekaiser completely out-stat-checks him in the arena.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first item. The permanent slow from your passive aura prevents him from running away using his Acceleration Gate or passive transform movement speed.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Jayce builds squishy AD items and cannot survive the sustained AP burn damage in all-ins.

Build Thornmail or Randuin's Omen in the mid-to-late game to further reduce his physical burst damage and armor penetration during side-lane split pushes.

In teamfights, look to catch Jayce with R Realm of Death before he can poke down your team with ranged E-Q combinations, neutralizing his primary teamfight contribution.

K'Sante, the Pride of Nazumah
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind/ Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Jak'Sho, The Protean
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Q3 Ntofo Strikes airborne pull, W Path Maker damage reduction & Unstoppable, E Footwork dash/shield, R All Out wall pull & stat conversion
An extremely favorable matchup for Mordekaiser. While K'Sante has high mobility and crowd control, Mordekaiser heavily out-stat-checks him in sustained melee duels once your passive activated.

Take Second Wind or Bone Plating to comfortably sustain through his early short trades and Q Ntofo Strikes poke.

Watch out for his Q3 airborne! After hitting two Qs, K'Sante's third Q Ntofo Strikes fires a shockwave that pulls you toward him. Sidestep perpendicular to avoid giving him free short-trade setups.

Respect his W Path Maker! During his W channel, K'Sante gains massive damage reduction and becomes **Unstoppable**. Do **NOT** waste your E Death's Grasp or isolated Q Obliterate while he is channeling W.

Avoid standing near thick walls at level 6! K'Sante's R All Out can drag you through terrain, stripping away his maximum health and resistances in exchange for high attack damage and omnivamp.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: When K'Sante casts R All Out, he sacrifices bonus Armor and Magic Resist for raw damage. Trapping him in R Realm of Death *after* he transforms leaves a squishy, fragile target trapped inside your arena where your AP burn melts him in seconds! Alternatively, casting R before he transforms steals 10% of his full tank stats.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb his Q3-auto-W trade combo or his All Out burst sequence.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall. Flat Armor mitigates his physical damage, while Bramble Vest cuts the healing from his passive marks and All Out omnivamp.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first item. The permanent slow from your Darkness Rise passive aura keeps K'Sante glued to you, neutralizing his E Footwork dashes in melee range.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Percentage-health magic damage burn melts K'Sante regardless of whether he stays in tank form or goes All Out.

In teamfights, K'Sante looks to isolate high-value targets with R All Out. Use R Realm of Death to pull him away from your team, completely neutralizing his utility and crowd control setup.

Kayle, the Righteous
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Plated Steelcaps/ Mercury's Treads, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Kaenic Rookern, Jak'Sho, The Protean
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Divine Ascent attack speed/range, Q Radiant Blast slow/resist shred, W Celestial Blessing heal/MS, E Starfire Spellblade execute, R Divine Judgment invulnerability
BEWARE OF HER LEVEL 1

This is an early-to-mid game favorable matchup for Mordekaiser. You heavily bully Kayle before level 11, but your main objective is to punish her early and delay her level 16 power spike as long as possible.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to comfortably sustain through her early E Starfire Spellblade poke and post-6 ranged auto-attacks.

Respect her level 1 all-in! Do **NOT** take an extended level 1 auto-attack fight against Kayle when she has 5 passive Divine Ascent attack speed stacks, as she can surprisingly win level 1 trades with her E active.

From level 2 to 5, aggressively zone her from the minion wave. Land E Death's Grasp to pull her in, followed by Q Obliterate to trigger Darkness Rise. She cannot survive sustained melee trades with you early.

Watch out for her Q Radiant Blast! It slows you and shreds 15% Armor and Magic Resist. If she lands Q, she will use W Celestial Blessing for a movement speed boost to kite away.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb her Q Radiant Blast poke or E Starfire Spellblade execute damage.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Kayle's R Divine Judgment grants complete invulnerability for up to 2.5 seconds. Hold your isolated Q Obliterate slam until her invulnerability shield fades so you don't waste your main burst damage!

Trapping Kayle in R Realm of Death eliminates her space to kite you. Inside the enclosed arena, her ranged advantage is severely restricted, allowing you to force a melee duel she cannot escape.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first item. Once your Darkness Rise passive aura activates, the permanent slow completely overrides her W Celestial Blessing movement speed boost and keeps her stuck in melee range.

Build Plated Steelcaps (against AD/on-hit builds) or Mercury's Treads (against AP builds) to match her mobility and mitigate her harassment.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to maximize your sustained AP burn damage and melt her before she can scale into the late game.

In the late game (level 16+), Kayle gains permanent fire waves and massive AP DPS. Build Kaenic Rookern or Force of Nature to withstand her late-game magic damage output.

In teamfights, look to catch Kayle with R Realm of Death before she can freely unleash AoE auto-attack waves on your team, or force her to burn R Divine Judgment defensively on herself instead of her allies.

Kennen, the Heart of the Tempest
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Kaenic Rookern, Force of Nature
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Mark of the Storm stun, Q Thundering Shuriken poke, W Electrical Surge active/passive, E Lightning Rush MS/attack speed, R Slicing Maelstrom AoE stun storm
A ranged poke matchup in the early laning phase. Kennen will attempt to harass you from distance using Q Thundering Shuriken, auto-attacks, and 3-stack passive stuns.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to comfortably sustain through his early AP poke and remain healthy enough to farm safely.

Stand behind minion waves to block his Q Thundering Shuriken skillshot and deny him free poke damage.

Track his passive Mark of the Storm stacks! Receiving 3 marks will stun you for 1.25 seconds, leaving you vulnerable to follow-up trades or jungle ganks.

Watch out for his E Lightning Rush! Kennen gains massive movement speed and ghosting. If you cast E Death's Grasp prematurely, he will easily sidestep or disengage with his mobility.

Wait until Kennen uses E Lightning Rush defensively or to clear minions before casting E Death's Grasp to pull him in and force an all-in.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb his Q Thundering Shuriken poke or his R Slicing Maelstrom burst sequence.

Rush Mercury's Treads on your first recall. The Magic Resist reduces his damage, and the Tenacity heavily cuts down his Mark of the Storm stun duration.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Kennen's primary win condition is landing a game-changing 5-man R Slicing Maelstrom engage. When Kennen activates R in a teamfight, cast R Realm of Death on him immediately to drag him and his storm into the Death Realm, completely saving your team!

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core item. Inside R Realm of Death, the continuous slow from Darkness Rise prevents Kennen from running away or kiting you.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Kennen builds squishy AP items and cannot survive your sustained AP burn damage in 1v1 combat.

Build Kaenic Rookern or Force of Nature in the late game to negate his magic burst damage and match his movement speed.

In late-game side lanes, Kennen cannot contest your wave clear and will lose 1v1 duels inside R Realm of Death without room to kite.

Kled, the Cantankerous Cavalier
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Q Beartrap on a Rope tether/anti-heal, W Violent Tendencies 4-hit frenzy, E Jousting double dash, Passive Skaarl the Cowardly Lizard untargetable dismount/remount
A aggressive early-game matchup. Kled excels at early all-in skirmishes and long extended trades, but Mordekaiser heavily outscales him once you acquire armor and core AP items.

Take Doran's Shield and Bone Plating to heavily absorb the burst from his 4-hit passive W Violent Tendencies frenzy.

Dodge his Q Beartrap on a Rope! If the tether pulls you back, it inflicts **40% Grievous Wounds** (anti-heal) and bonus physical damage, severely crippling your W Indestructible healing or Conqueror sustain.

DISMOUNT UNTARGETABILITY: When Kled's mounted health reaches zero, he dismounts Skaarl and becomes briefly **Untargetable**. Do **NOT** cast your isolated Q Obliterate or R Realm of Death right as his mounted health drops, or the frame will fizzle and waste your cooldown!

When Kled is dismounted, he loses movement speed when moving away from you. Use E Death's Grasp and Q Obliterate immediately to finish him off before he can stack Courage through auto-attacks and remount Skaarl.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively when he hits his 4th W Violent Tendencies auto-attack or when his Q tether snaps.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall. Since Kled deals exclusively physical damage, armor and Grievous Wounds neutralize his lane pressure completely.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Casting R Realm of Death while Kled is mounted steals 10% of his massive combined health pool (Skaarl + Kled). Alternatively, trapping a dismounted Kled inside your arena guarantees a free kill, as he has no mobility or health to survive your AP aura.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core item. The constant slow from your Darkness Rise passive keeps dismounted Kled glued to you, preventing him from kiting or safely generating Courage.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Kled’s total health bar with Skaarl is enormous, making percentage-health damage burn exceptionally lethal against him.

Watch out for his level 6 roams! Kled's R Chaaaaaaaarge!!! lets him dive across the map uncontrollably. Ping missing immediately when he leaves lane to protect your teammates.

In late-game teamfights, Mordekaiser offers far superior frontline utility and teamfight lockdown. Simply trap Kled with R Realm of Death as he charges in to completely invalidate his engage.

Malphite, the Shard of the Monolith
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Mercury's Treads/ Plated Steelcaps, Kaenic Rookern, Jak'Sho, The Protean
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Granite Shield shield, Q Seismic Shard MS steal, W Thunderclap armor/on-hit, E Ground Slam AS slow, R Unstoppable Force airborne engage
An extremely favorable matchup for Mordekaiser. Malphite inherently scales with Armor, making his defense completely ineffective against your heavy Magic Damage and passive Magic Penetration from E Death's Grasp.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to comfortably sustain through his early Q Seismic Shard poke and completely out-sustain his mana pool.

Keep his passive Granite Shield broken! Use basic attacks or isolated Q Obliterate to keep his shield on cooldown so he cannot safely mitigate your damage.

Watch out for his E Ground Slam attack speed reduction in trades. While it slows your auto-attacks, your passive Darkness Rise aura will continuously melt him in melee range regardless.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb his Q Seismic Shard poke or his level 6 R Unstoppable Force burst combo.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: During his R Unstoppable Force dash, Malphite becomes **Unstoppable**. Do **NOT** attempt to cast R Realm of Death while he is mid-air, or the cast will fizzle! Wait for his dash to finish, then drag him into the Death Realm.

Inside R Realm of Death, Malphite has no way to survive your sustained DPS or escape. Stealing 10% of his resistances makes you virtually unkillable.

Against AP Malphite, rush Mercury's Treads or an early Kaenic Rookern. His win condition is one-shot burst; surviving his initial R engage with your W Indestructible shield guarantees a free kill in return.

Rush Liandry's Torment or Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core item. Percentage-health magic damage burn easily shred through Tank Malphite's high health bar.

You heavily out-splitpush Malphite in side lanes. Force him to match your wave clear, preventing him from freely grouping and finding flank engages against your team.

In teamfights, if Malphite looks to engage on your carries, cast R Realm of Death on him immediately to neutralize his impact and isolate him away from the fight.

Maokai, the Twisted Treant
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Mercury's Treads, Kaenic Rookern
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Sap Magic sustain, Q Bramble Smash knockback/slow, W Twisted Advance untargetable root, E Sapling Toss brush vision/poke, R Nature's Grasp wide-area root wave
An extremely easy tank matchup for Mordekaiser. Maokai lacks the damage to threaten you in lane, and your sustained AP damage easily melts through his defensive stats and self-healing.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind to comfortably ignore his E Sapling Toss poke and stay at high health throughout the laning phase.

Beware of his W Twisted Advance untargetability! When Maokai roots you with W, he briefly becomes **Untargetable**. Do **NOT** cast isolated Q Obliterate or R Realm of Death while he is mid-dash, or your skill will fizzle.

Wait for him to finish his W Twisted Advance dash into your melee range, then immediately auto-attack and land Q Obliterate to trigger Darkness Rise.

Watch out for his passive Sap Magic heal! Spells cast near Maokai reduce his passive healing cooldown. Buy an early Bramble Vest or Morellonomicon to cut his sustain during extended trades.

Avoid unwarded bushes! Maokai's E Sapling Toss deals significantly increased damage and lingers longer when placed inside brush.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to block his Q Bramble Smash damage or negate brush sapling explosions.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Maokai's R Nature's Grasp summons a wide wall of roots. If cast inside R Realm of Death, the roots remain inside the Death Realm and cannot hit your teammates outside. Trapping him isolates him completely from peeling for his team.

Rush Liandry's Torment and Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core items. Percent-health magic damage burn easily shreds through tank Maokai, while Rylai's prevents him from disengaging.

Follow up with Riftmaker for true damage conversion and extra healing, ensuring you completely dominate him in 1v1 side-lane duels.

Build Mercury's Treads to cut down the duration of his heavy crowd control (roots, slows, and knockbacks).

You severely out-splitpush Maokai in side lanes. He cannot match your wave clear or stop you from taking towers without calling for team support.

In teamfights, cast R Realm of Death on Maokai to strip his peel and crowd control away from your team, or use it on enemy carries while Maokai is stuck in your frontline.

Nasus, the Curator of the Sands
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Boots of Swiftness/ Plated Steelcaps, Morellonomicon
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Soul Eater lifesteal, Q Siphoning Strike stack burst, W Wither attack/movement speed slow, E Spirit Fire armor shred, R Fury of the Sands bonus HP/Q cooldown reduction
A heavily early-to-mid game favorable matchup for Mordekaiser. You completely dominate Nasus before level 6, making your goal to aggressively freeze waves, deny his Q Siphoning Strike stacks, and set him far behind early.

Rush an early Bramble Vest or Morellonomicon component on your first back to cut the healing from his passive Soul Eater and interrupt his lane sustain.

Punish him every time he steps up to stack! Whenever Nasus walks up for a minion last-hit, hit him with an isolated Q Obliterate or pull him with E Death's Grasp to force bad trades.

Watch out for his W Wither! It inflicts a brutal crippling movement speed and attack speed slow. Buy Boots of Swiftness if you need to reduce the slow effect, or use W Indestructible to absorb his retaliatory Q damage.

Avoid fighting extended trades inside his E Spirit Fire zone, as it shreds flat Armor and deals continuous magic damage over time.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: When Nasus activates R Fury of the Sands, he gains massive health, bonus range, and reduced Q cooldown. Trapping him in R Realm of Death **after** he turns big steals 10% of his inflated health and stats, turning his ultimate power directly against him!

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first item. The continuous slow from your Darkness Rise passive helps counter the crippling attack and movement speed reduction of his W Wither.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Percentage-maximum-health magic damage burn shreds through Nasus even when he builds full tank items.

Freeze the minion wave on your side of the lane early. Nasus has no mobility and cannot safely step up into your melee range without risking an all-in inside or outside R Realm of Death.

In late-game split pushes, Nasus can become dangerous if allowed to stack freely. Match his side-lane pressure and use R Realm of Death to isolate and defeat him before his Q damage scales out of control.

Olaf, the Berserker
Overall difficulty: 4.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen, Rylai's Crystal Scepter
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Berserker Rage attack speed/lifesteal, Q Undertow perma-slow axes, E Reckless Swing true damage, R Ragnarok CC & Death Realm cleanse
A counter-heavy, difficult matchup for Mordekaiser. Olaf is one of your hardest counters because his kit naturally neutralizes your primary win condition and out-damages you in early all-ins.

HARD COUNTER INTERACTION: Olaf's R Ragnarok cleanses ALL crowd control—including your R Realm of Death! If you pull him into the Death Realm, he can instantly press R to break out. If he activates R beforehand, your R will fizzle and be wasted.

Do **NOT** attempt long extended trades at level 1–5. His passive Berserker Rage grants massive attack speed and lifesteal at low health, allowing him to easily out-dps Mordekaiser in early brawl scenarios.

Respect his Q Undertow axe-throwing chains! If he lands an axe in a long lane, he can continuously pick it up to refresh its cooldown and run you down repeatedly.

Take Bone Plating to absorb the burst from his Q and E Reckless Swing true damage during short early trades.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Reducing his physical auto-attack damage and cutting his passive lifesteal is essential to surviving lane.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively whenever he uses E Reckless Swing to completely absorb his true damage burst.

Keep the minion wave frozen near your tower. Olaf thrives when chasing enemies down long lanes; keeping the wave near your turret deprives him of kill threat and jungle gank immunity.

Build Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker for sustained AP damage and durability in mid-to-late game skirmishes.

In teamfights, **never** waste R Realm of Death on Olaf. Instead, save your ultimate to isolate high-value enemy carries (ADC/Mid) or the enemy jungler, stripping away their damage while your team deals with Olaf.

Ornn, the Fire below the Mountain
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Liandry's Torment, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Riftmaker, Mercury's Treads, Jak'Sho, The Protean, Morellonomicon
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Living Forge masterwork items, Q Volcanic Rupture pillar/slow, W Bellows Breath unstoppable/% max HP Brittle, E Searing Charge terrain knockup, R Call of the Forge God wide knockup ram
A heavily favorable tank matchup for Mordekaiser. Ornn stacks high defensive stats and health, making him an ideal target dummy for your percent-health magic damage and stat-stealing ultimate.

Take Second Wind and Doran's Shield early to comfortably ignore his Q Volcanic Rupture pillar poke and stay healthy in lane.

UNSTOPPABLE INTERACTION: Ornn becomes **Unstoppable** while channeling W Bellows Breath! Do **NOT** attempt to pull him with E Death's Grasp or cast R Realm of Death while he is breathing fire, as your abilities will be ignored or fizzle.

Watch out for his Brittle auto-attacks! When Ornn hits you with W Bellows Breath or R Call of the Forge God, he applies Brittle, causing his next empowered basic attack to deal high % max HP magic damage and knock you back.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb his Brittle auto-attack burst or his E Searing Charge knockup combo.

Avoid standing near walls or his Q Volcanic Rupture pillar! If Ornn collides with terrain using E Searing Charge, it creates a large knockup shockwave that sets up his full trading pattern.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Inside R Realm of Death, Ornn loses 10% of his massive bonus armor, magic resist, and health pool. Stealing his defensive stats turns you into an unkillable raid boss while rendering him extremely squishy.

Rush Liandry's Torment as your core first item. The percentage-maximum-health magic damage burn continuously melts through all the health and defensive stats Ornn builds.

Follow up with Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Riftmaker. Rylai's perma-slow prevents him from escaping your melee range, while Riftmaker's true damage conversion bypasses his magic resistance.

Build Mercury's Treads to reduce the duration of his heavy crowd control (knocks, slows, and Brittle status).

In side lanes, you completely dominate Ornn in 1v1 duels. Force aggressive side-lane pressure mid-to-late game to punish his lack of dueling threat and delay his scaling teamfight impact.

In teamfights, if Ornn attempts to engage on your backline with R Call of the Forge God, use R Realm of Death on him to strip away his team's frontline or isolate enemy carries while Ornn's engage is wasted.

Pantheon, the Unbreakable Spear
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Mortal Will empowered spells, Q Comet Spear poke/execute, W Shield Vault point-and-click stun, E Aegis Assault directional invulnerability, R Grand Starfall semi-global roam
A heavily favorable matchup for Mordekaiser after surviving his initial levels 1–3 burst window. Pantheon relies on early snowballing, but your W shield, innate tankiness, and scaling completely out-class him.

Take Bone Plating! Pantheon's empowered W Shield Vault triggers three rapid basic attacks, which will instantly consume and get absorbed by your Bone Plating, completely neutralizing his trade burst.

Watch out for his passive bar Mortal Will! At 5 stacks, his next ability is empowered. His empowered W Shield Vault stuns and hits 3 times, while his empowered Q Comet Spear deals massive physical damage and executes below 20% health.

E AEGIS ASSAULT COUNTER: Pantheon's E Aegis Assault blocks ALL damage coming from the direction he is facing. Do **NOT** waste an isolated Q Obliterate directly into his shield! Instead, walk around/behind him or use E Death's Grasp to pull him sideways or past you to bypass his invulnerability.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively as soon as he lands W Shield Vault stun to absorb his full combo damage.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Inside R Realm of Death, Pantheon has limited space to kite. If he uses E Aegis Assault, you can easily step behind him in the restricted arena. Furthermore, keeping him trapped in the Death Realm prevents him from using R Grand Starfall to roam and save his team.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Reducing his physical auto-attack burst and cutting his lifesteal completely guts his kill threat in lane.

Build Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker as core items. Percentage-maximum-health magic damage burn easily shreds through Pantheon once he falls off in the mid-to-late game.

Ping missing frequently! Once Pantheon realizes he cannot duel you 1v1, he will look to turn map fights or drop onto your bot lane with R Grand Starfall.

In side lanes mid-to-late game, you brutally out-duel Pantheon. Force him to respond to your split push where he cannot use his semi-global ultimate without forfeiting towers.

Poppy, Keeper of the Hammer
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Liandry's Torment, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Riftmaker, Plated Steelcaps, Jak'Sho, The Protean, Morellonomicon
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Iron Ambassador buckler shield, Q Hammer Shock % max HP double burst, W Steadfast Presence dash stop/resistances, E Heroic Charge wall stun, R Keeper's Verdict knockback/up
An extremely easy tank matchup for Mordekaiser. Poppy builds high Armor and relies on anti-dash utility, both of which are completely useless against your immobile, heavy-magic-damage juggernaut playstyle.

Take Second Wind and Doran's Shield to sustain through her early passive Iron Ambassador buckler throws and Q Hammer Shock poke.

Avoid standing near walls! Poppy's E Heroic Charge pins you to terrain for a long stun and guarantees both hits of her % max HP Q Hammer Shock. Stay in the middle of the lane where her dash cannot stun you.

Step on her buckler! When Poppy throws her passive Iron Ambassador shield, try to walk over where it lands to destroy it and deny her a massive shield before initiating trades.

Her W Steadfast Presence stops dashes, but since Mordekaiser has zero dash abilities, her W field does absolutely nothing to interrupt your kit or trade pattern.

Watch out for the second explosion of her Q Hammer Shock! The ground erupts after a short delay for equal damage; step sideways out of the cracked earth area after trading.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively to absorb her wall-stun burst or her passive buckler-empowered trade.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Poppy inside R Realm of Death strips 10% of her high armor and magic resistance (including her W passive resistance boosts when low). Inside the Death Realm, her space is severely restricted, and she cannot stop your sustained AP aura.

Rush Liandry's Torment as your core first item. Percentage-maximum-health magic damage burn effortlessly melts through all the health and defensive stats Poppy builds.

Follow up with Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Riftmaker. Rylai's perma-slow prevents her from disengaging with her bonus W movement speed, while Riftmaker true damage conversion ensures she cannot survive long duels.

Build Plated Steelcaps to mitigate her physical damage and passive auto-attack poke.

You brutally out-splitpush Poppy in side lanes mid-to-late game. She lacks the DPS to contest your wave clear or stop you from taking towers without calling for team support.

In teamfights, if Poppy attempts to use R Keeper's Verdict to knock your carries away or peel for her team, pull her with E Death's Grasp or isolate her with R Realm of Death to negate her teamfight disruption completely.

Quinn, Demacia's Wings
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Harrier vulnerable mark, Q Blinding Assault near-sight, W Heightened Senses vision reveal, E Vault interrupt bounce/slow, R Behind Enemy Lines high-speed taxi
A ranged marksman matchup for Mordekaiser. While Quinn can harass you in the early levels with auto-attacks, surviving her initial level 1–5 poke sets you up to completely dominate her once you acquire TABIS and R Realm of Death.

Start Doran's Shield and take Second Wind to comfortably regenerate through her ranged auto-attacks and passive Harrier mark procs.

Watch out for her E Vault interrupt! Quinn's E bounces off you, micro-knocks you back, and applies a slow. Save your E Death's Grasp until **after** she uses E Vault, then pull her back into your melee range when her dash is on cooldown.

Sidestep her Q Blinding Assault! Her Q applies near-sight, cutting your vision and preventing you from targeting her with basic attacks or abilities. Hide behind minion waves so the missile hits a minion instead.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively whenever she triggers a passive Harrier mark or lands a Q-E burst trade to negate her damage completely.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Quinn inside R Realm of Death strips 10% of her attack damage and health, trapping her in a tiny arena with no room to kite or run. Inside the Death Realm, her R Behind Enemy Lines channel is completely useless.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Plated Steelcaps reduce 12% of incoming basic attack damage, drastically weakening her poke and allowing you to run her down.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item. The continuous slow from your Darkness Rise passive ensures once you close the gap, Quinn can never disengage from you again.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to rapidly melt her small health bar in extended trades.

Ping missing aggressively at level 6! Quinn relies heavily on using R Behind Enemy Lines to roam to mid lane or join jungle skirmishes. Crash the minion wave into her turret and take plates whenever she leaves the lane.

In late-game side lanes, you severely out-duel Quinn. Match her split push, clear waves quickly, and force all-ins with R Realm of Death if she steps too close to your wave.

Renekton, the Butcher of the Sands
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Reign of Anger Fury empower, Q Cull the Meek sustain/poke, W Ruthless Predator shield-break stun, E Slice and Dice double dash, R Dominus bonus HP/Fury aura
A skill matchup early on that turns heavily in Mordekaiser's favor after level 6. Renekton excels at short burst trades, but you drastically out-damage him in extended fights once passive Darkness Rise is active.

Take Bone Plating! Renekton's core trading pattern relies on E-W-Q burst. Bone Plating drastically reduces his burst damage during short trades.

SHIELD BREAKER COUNTER: Renekton's empowered W Ruthless Predator (at 50+ Fury) destroys shields **BEFORE** dealing damage! Do **NOT** activate your W Indestructible shield pre-emptively when he has red Fury, or he will instantly shatter it. Use W *after* his stun finishes.

Watch his Fury bar! When Renekton has 50+ Fury, his abilities gain massive bonus effects (higher Q healing, shield break/longer stun on W, and armor shred on E). Avoid taking short trades when his Fury bar is full.

Punish his E Slice and Dice disengage! Renekton will try to E in, W-Q burst you, and E back out. Save your E Death's Grasp until he attempts to dash away, pulling him back in to force a long extended trade where your Darkness Rise passive wins out.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: When Renekton activates R Dominus, he gains a massive boost to max health and Fury. Trapping him in R Realm of Death **after** he transforms steals 10% of his bonus health and Attack Damage, turning his steroid against him!

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Steelcaps cut his physical burst and basic attack damage, while Bramble Vest limits his Q Cull the Meek sustain in minion waves.

Build Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker as core items. Percentage-maximum-health magic damage burn easily shreds through Renekton's high health bar in extended 1v1 fights.

Inside R Realm of Death, Renekton has limited room to dash or escape. Force all-ins whenever his R Dominus or flash is down to secure easy solo kills.

In teamfights, if Renekton looks to flank and burst your backline carries, use R Realm of Death on him to isolate him away from your team and negate his engage completely.

Riven, the Exile
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Runic Blade empowered autos, Q Broken Wings 3-part dash/knockup, W Ki Burst instant stun, E Valor shield dash, R Blade of the Exile AD boost / Wind Slash execute
A skill-intensive matchup early on for Mordekaiser that turns heavily in your favor once you buy armor and reach level 6. Riven relies on mobility and short burst trades, but lacks sustained damage once your Darkness Rise passive is running.

Take Bone Plating! Riven relies on fast Q-AA-W-AA trade sequences. Bone Plating absorbs a massive chunk of her short-trade burst in the early levels.

Respect her levels 1–3 mobility! Riven can easily dodge your skillshots using Q Broken Wings or E Valor. Play defensively, farm with isolated Q Obliterate, and avoid taking extended damage until level 4+.

Do **NOT** waste your E Death's Grasp early in trades! A good Riven will use E Valor or Q Broken Wings to hop behind your pull and punish you. Save E to pull her back in after she uses her dashes to disengage.

Watch out for her W Ki Burst stun interrupting your Q Obliterate cast! Time your Q when she is either out of stun range or after she has already committed her W.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively during her stun or when she casts R2 Blade of the Exile (Wind Slash) to absorb her execute damage.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: If Riven activates R1 Blade of the Exile for bonus Attack Damage, casting R Realm of Death on her immediately steals 10% of that boosted AD! Additionally, trapping her in the limited Death Realm denies her the room needed to kite your passive aura.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Steelcaps reduce 12% of her basic attack damage, while Bramble Vest cuts her healing and punishes her for fast-comboing you.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your first core completed item. The persistent slow from Darkness Rise cripples her mobility and prevents her from dashing away after trading.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to melt her through sustained magic damage and true damage conversion.

In side-lane split pushing mid-to-late game, you brutally out-duel Riven. As long as you don't fall behind early, she cannot match your tankiness and constant passive damage in 1v1s.

Rumble, the Mechanized Menace
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Liandry's Torment, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Riftmaker, Kaenic Rookern/ Abyssal Mask, Jak'Sho, The Protean
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Junkyard Titan Overheat autos, Q Flamespitter 50%+ Heat bonus burn, E Electro-Harpoon double slow/MR shred, R The Equalizer AoE carpet burn
A manageable AP skill matchup for Mordekaiser. Rumble has high early base damage with Q Flamespitter, but once you survive his initial levels and acquire magic resistance, you brutally out-scale and out-stat him in sustained fights.

Start Doran's Shield and take Second Wind! This combination allows you to constantly regenerate through his E Electro-Harpoon harpoon poke and Q Flamespitter tick damage in the early levels.

Respect his Danger Zone (50%+ Heat)! When Rumble's heat bar turns yellow/red (50%+ heat), his Q Flamespitter and E Electro-Harpoon deal 50% bonus damage and effects. Avoid taking extended trades while he is empowered in this state early on.

Watch out for his Overheat (100% Heat)! When Rumble overheats, he silences himself but gains massive bonus Attack Speed and heavy Magic Damage on hit. In early levels (1–3), his overheated melee basic attacks do deceptive burst damage. Use your W Indestructible shield to absorb his damage if he attempts to all-in.

Hide behind minion waves! His E Electro-Harpoon applies a stacking slow and shreds your Magic Resistance. Standing behind minions blocks the harpoon missiles completely.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively whenever he lands E Electro-Harpoon or channels empowered Q Flamespitter to soak up his magic burn.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Rumble inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Ability Power and max Health. In the tight arena, Rumble cannot kite you with W Scrap Shield or E slows, forcing him into a melee duel where your passive Darkness Rise easily wins out. Furthermore, trapping him prevents his teamfight-winning R The Equalizer from hitting your allies in group fights.

Rush Mercury's Treads or an early Null-Magic Mantle on your first recall! The Magic Resistance and Tenacity cut his E slow duration and significantly weaken his Q magic damage.

Build Liandry's Torment as your core first completed item to match his health-stacking AP bruiser build and melt him down in long trades.

Follow up with Rylai's Crystal Scepter. The persistent slow from Darkness Rise ensures Rumble cannot use his W Scrap Shield movement speed to disengage or kite out of your range.

In side-lane split pushing mid-to-late game, you brutally out-duel Rumble. Match his push, force all-ins with R Realm of Death, and prevent him from finding open teamfights where his ultimate excels.

Sett, the Boss
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Pit Grit double autos/regen, Q Knuckle Down MS/auto reset, W Haymaker grit shield & center true damage, E Facebreaker stun, R The Show Stopper slam engage
A manageable juggernaut matchup for Mordekaiser. Sett dominates early short trades with his rapid auto-attack sequence and W burst, but once you acquire armor and reach level 6, your sustained magic DPS and stat-stealing ultimate beat him in extended fights.

Take Bone Plating! Sett relies on fast E-AA-Q-AA trade combinations. Bone Plating absorbs a massive portion of his early physical auto-attack burst.

Sidestep the center of his W Haymaker! Sett converts damage taken into Grit, granting him a massive shield and firing a blast that deals True Damage in the center line. When he channels W, step sideways or walk behind him to dodge the center beam—his shield decays quickly right after.

Watch your positioning to avoid E Facebreaker stuns! Sett's E only stuns if he grabs targets on both sides of him. Avoid standing directly between Sett and your minion wave so he cannot land a guaranteed stun setup.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively during his W channel or when he engages with E to absorb his initial physical damage burst.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Sett inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Attack Damage and Health, turning his high physical stats against him. Furthermore, isolating him in the Death Realm prevents him from using R The Show Stopper to slam you into your team for massive AoE collapse damage.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Steelcaps reduce 12% of incoming basic attack damage, while Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds to cut his combat healing and reduce his passive Pit Grit health regeneration.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item. The persistent slow from Darkness Rise cripples Sett's low mobility, making it impossible for him to kite or escape your melee range.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to rapidly melt through his high health pool and W shields during extended 1v1 all-ins.

In teamfights, if Sett attempts to flank or engage onto your team, isolate him with R Realm of Death. Removing Sett strips away the enemy's main frontline initiation and forces him into a duel he cannot win.

Shen, Eyo of Twilight
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Liandry's Torment, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Riftmaker, Plated Steelcaps/ Mercury's Treads, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Jak'Sho, The Protean
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Ki Barrier shield, Q Twilight Assault blade drag-through % max HP, W Spirit's Refuge auto-attack dodge, E Shadow Dash taunt, R Stand United global shield/teleport
A heavily favorable tank matchup for Mordekaiser. Shen relies on short trades, blocking basic attacks, and global map pressure, but your heavy spell damage, sustained passive DPS, and ultimate cancel neutralize his entire game plan.

Take Second Wind and Doran's Shield to easily regenerate through his early Q Twilight Assault drag-through poke and passive shield trades.

Watch out for his spirit blade position! If Shen drags Q Twilight Assault through you, his next 3 basic attacks gain attack speed and deal enhanced % max HP magic damage. Avoid standing directly between Shen and his blade.

W SPIRIT'S REFUGE COUNTER: Shen's W Spirit's Refuge blocks auto-attacks, but it does **NOT** block spell damage from your Q Obliterate or E Death's Grasp! Keep slinging spells through his dodge zone to trigger and stack your Darkness Rise passive.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Mordekaiser's R Realm of Death completely **INTERRUPTS** Shen's R Stand United channel! Whenever Shen attempts to cast his global ultimate to shield/teleport to an ally, immediately cast R on him to cancel his channel, trap him in the Death Realm, and waste his massive cooldown.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively whenever he lands E Shadow Dash taunt to negate his initial trade burst.

Rush Liandry's Torment as your core first completed item. Percentage-maximum-health magic damage burn easily shreds through all the health Shen builds.

Follow up with Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Riftmaker. Rylai's persistent slow prevents Shen from disengaging with E Shadow Dash, while Riftmaker true damage conversion ensures he cannot withstand long duels.

Abuse your massive waveclear advantage! Shen has notoriously weak waveclear without items. Continuously hard-shove waves under his tower to deny him CS, take turret plates, and punish him severely if he ever attempts to leave lane.

In side lanes mid-to-late game, you brutally out-duel Shen. Pressure towers endlessly and force him to defend, denying him the freedom to use R Stand United in teamfights without forfeiting structures.

Singed, Mad Chemist
Overall difficulty: 1.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Boots of Swiftness/ Mercury's Treads, Kaenic Rookern/ Abyssal Mask, Morellonomicon
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Noxious Slipstream draft MS, Q Poison Trail continuous DPS, W Mega Adhesive grounded/slow, E Fling toss (E+W flip root), R Insanity Potion stat boost
An extremely easy matchup for Mordekaiser. Singed relies on open space to run around, kite, and proxy—all of which are completely neutralized by your persistent passive aura and stat-stealing arena.

Start Doran's Shield and take Second Wind! This combination allows you to effortlessly regenerate through his early Q Poison Trail tick damage and ignore his minor laning harassment.

Do **NOT** chase Singed mindlessly through his Q Poison Trail in the early levels! Let the minion waves come to you or match his push; taking free poison damage before level 6 is his only way to gain an advantage.

Watch out for his W Mega Adhesive grounded zone! When stepped on, you cannot use Flash or mobility spells. If Singed uses E Fling to toss you into his W puddle, it roots you in place.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively whenever he flings (E) you or turns on Q Poison Trail to trade, soaking up his magic burn completely.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Singed inside R Realm of Death shrinks his world into a tiny arena where he has nowhere to run! Deprived of space to kite, Singed is forced into a close-quarters melee brawl where your Darkness Rise passive and isolated Qs melt him in seconds.

Rush Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The continuous slow applied by your Darkness Rise aura completely destroys his bonus movement speed and prevents him from kiting away.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. Liandry's health-percentage burn shreds Singed's health pool, while Riftmaker guarantees true damage in extended fights.

Build Boots of Swiftness or Mercury's Treads. Swiftness boots reduce his W slow effect, while Merc Treads provide necessary Magic Resist and Tenacity.

If Singed attempts to proxy behind your tower, escort your minion wave early or catch him out with E Death's Grasp into R Realm of Death. Isolated without tower safety, he cannot survive your 1v1 inside the Death Realm.

In teamfights, if Singed uses R Insanity Potion and Ghost to sprint into your backline carries, cast R Realm of Death on him to instantly stop his engage and force him into a duel he cannot win.

Tahm Kench, the River King
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Kaenic Rookern
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive An Acquired Taste 3-stack empower, Q Tongue Lash slow/heal/stun, W Abyssal Dive knockup engage, E Thick Skin grey health shield, R Devour suppression
A favorable tank matchup for Mordekaiser. Tahm Kench is a strong early lane bully with solid single-target AP damage, but once you unlock R Realm of Death and acquire AP items, you massively out-scale and out-duel him in extended fights.

Take Second Wind and Doran's Shield! This combination easily negates his early Q Tongue Lash poke damage and lets you out-sustain him through the first few levels.

Hide behind minion waves! His Q Tongue Lash👅 cannot travel through minions. Standing behind your wave prevents him from landing long-range Q slows/heals and keeps him from applying stacks of An Acquired Taste.

Respect his 3-stack passive! Once Tahm Kench gets 3 stacks of An Acquired Taste on you, his next Q Tongue Lash will stun you instead of slowing, and he can swallow you with R Devour. Do not take prolonged level 1–3 trades if he already has stacks applied.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively whenever he lands Q Tongue Lash👅 or attempts to consume you with R Devour to absorb his burst magic damage.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Tahm Kench inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Health and Magic Resistance, severely weakening his durability. Inside the arena, Tahm Kench cannot protect his team with R Devour, nor can he escape your persistent Darkness Rise aura damage in close range.

Rush Mercury's Treads or an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Mercury's Treads provide Magic Resist and reduce his Q stun duration, while Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds to cut his Q Tongue Lash healing.

Build Liandry's Torment as your core first completed item! The % maximum health burn easily melts through his large health pool and overcomes his E Thick Skin grey health shields.

Follow up with Riftmaker and Rylai's Crystal Scepter. Riftmaker bonus true damage guarantees you break through all his defensive stacking, while Rylai's ensures he cannot escape with W Abyssal Dive or walk away.

In side-lane split pushing mid-to-late game, you completely crush Tahm Kench. Force extended 1v1 duels using R Realm of Death to deny him any chance of assisting his team.

Teemo, the Swift Scout
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Revitalize
Suggested items: Mercury's Treads, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Kaenic Rookern, Oracle Lens
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Guerrilla Warfare stealth, Q Blinding Dart blind, W Move Quick MS boost, E Toxic Shot auto poison damage, R Noxious Trap mushroom slow/burn
A manageable ranged AP matchup for Mordekaiser. Teemo aims to poke you early with ranged basic attacks and Q Blinding Dart, but once you unlock R Realm of Death and acquire MR or Rylai's Crystal Scepter, you easily pull him in and crush him in 1v1 duels.

Start Doran's Shield and take Second Wind! This essential sustain pairing lets you constantly regenerate health through his E Toxic Shot poison ticks and ranged harassment during levels 1–5.

Watch out for his Q Blinding Dart! Teemo's blind stops your basic attacks from hitting or stacking Conqueror, but it does **NOT** block spell damage from your Q Obliterate or E Death's Grasp! Keep landing your abilities even while blinded.

Respect his movement speed with W Move Quick! Teemo can quickly kite back if you miss E Death's Grasp. Only commit to long trades when you land E or have R Realm of Death available to lock him down.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively whenever he hits you with Q Blinding Dart or steps up for an AA-Q-AA trade to absorb his upfront burst.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Teemo inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Attack Speed and Ability Power. Crucially, R removes all existing mushroom traps in the Death Realm, leaving him completely exposed without invisible defense! Once trapped in close quarters, he cannot kite your Darkness Rise passive aura.

Rush Mercury's Treads or an early Null-Magic Mantle on your first recall! The Magic Resist, Tenacity, and Movement Speed significantly reduce his poison damage, blind duration, and slow effects.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The instant slow on your E Death's Grasp or Q Obliterate allows you to stick onto Teemo, completely countering his W Move Quick speed boost.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker for high AP health pool and maximum DPS during all-ins. Swap your trinket to Oracle Lens to sweep for R Noxious Trap mushrooms when controlling brushes or lane push.

From level 6 onward, play around your R Realm of Death cooldown. Whenever your Ultimate is up, land E Death's Grasp, cast R, and force an isolated fight—Teemo cannot survive a full 1v1 duel inside the arena.

Trundle, the Troll King
Overall difficulty: 4/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive King's Tribute minion heal, Q Chomp AD steal/bite, W Frozen Domain AS/MS/heal zone, E Pillar of Ice terrain knockup/slow, R Subjugate resistance/HP steal
A dangerous stat-check duel matchup for Mordekaiser. Trundle excels at extended melee brawls with high attack speed and lifesteal, but proper ultimate timing and early anti-healing turn the duel in your favor.

Take Bone Plating! Trundle's primary trade starts with an auto-attack reset from Q Chomp. Bone Plating significantly negates his initial burst physical damage in early trades.

Never fight Trundle inside his W Frozen Domain early on! His W grants him massive Movement Speed, Attack Speed, and +25% increased healing from all sources. Step back or disengage until his domain expires.

Watch out for his E Pillar of Ice! Trundle can use his Pillar to block your pathing or force you into uncomfortable terrain. Save your E Death's Grasp to pull him away if he tries to pin you against walls.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively during his Q Chomp or when he all-ins to absorb his physical auto-attack burst.

CRITICAL ULTIMATE COUNTER: Do **NOT** cast R Realm of Death before Trundle casts R Subjugate! If you cast R first, Trundle will press R on you inside the Death Realm to steal 40% of your boosted Armor, Magic Resist, and Health. **Wait for Trundle to Ultimate you first**, then cast R Realm of Death—this steals back 10% of his newly buffed stats and completely reverses the stat drain!

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Steelcaps reduce 12% of his basic attack damage, while Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds to heavily reduce his passive, W, and lifesteal sustain.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The persistent slow from Darkness Rise prevents Trundle from running you down or sticking to you when his W Frozen Domain ends.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to rapidly melt his health pool with percentage-HP burn and true damage conversion during all-ins.

Never leave Trundle completely unattended in side-lanes mid-to-late game. If you rotate to teamfights, make sure your waves are hard-shoved, as Trundle shreds towers in seconds with Q Chomp and W attack speed.

Tryndamere, the Barbarian King
Overall difficulty: 2.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Battle Fury critical chance, Q Bloodlust bonus AD/heal, W Mocking Shout AD reduction/slow, E Spinning Slash dash/damage, R Undying Rage 5s death immunity
A manageable skirmisher matchup for Mordekaiser. Tryndamere relies entirely on early critical strikes, basic attack physical damage, and his 5-second death immunity ultimate, but building armor, anti-healing, and kiting through slows heavily neutralizes his threat.

Take Bone Plating! Tryndamere relies on short E-AA-AA trades. Bone Plating significantly mitigates his early physical burst before he stacks full Fury.

Respect his Fury bar at level 1–2! Avoid taking extended trades when Tryndamere's Battle Fury is full, as his high critical strike chance can turn early trades into rng-based burst. Let him burn his Fury via Q Bloodlust healing before fighting.

Turn around when he casts W Mocking Shout! If you face Tryndamere when he uses W, you lose AD but avoid the slow effect. If your back is turned, the slow allows him to easily stick onto you.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively during his all-in or when he uses E Spinning Slash to absorb his incoming basic attack damage.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Tryndamere inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Attack Damage and Health. Crucially, the tight Death Realm forces him to waste seconds of his 5-second R Undying Rage duration trying to reach you while slowed by your Darkness Rise passive. Kite him out during his R immune seconds with E Death's Grasp or Zhonya's to secure the finish when it expires.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail on your first recall! Plated Steelcaps cut 12% of his auto-attack damage, while Bramble Vest cuts his Q Bloodlust healing and lifesteal.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The persistent slow applied by Darkness Rise prevents Tryndamere from running you down with Ghost or disengaging with E Spinning Slash.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Randuin's Omen. Randuin's Omen active slow drastically reduces incoming critical strike damage and attack speed, completely countering his core damage output.

Never leave Tryndamere completely unattended in side lanes mid-to-late game. Always clear minion waves to deny his rapid tower-shredding capability.

Urgot, the Dreadnought
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Echoing Flames shotgun legs, Q Corrosive Charge slow, W Purge auto-fire machine gun, E Disdain shield flip, R Fear Beyond Death execute chains
A heavily favorable juggernaut matchup for Mordekaiser. Urgot relies on short engage flips and circling targets to proc passive shotgun legs, but your sustained magic damage aura, armor rush, and stat-stealing ultimate completely overwhelm him in extended fights.

Take Bone Plating! Urgot relies on E Disdain flip engages to unload rapid W Purge machine-gun fire. Bone Plating absorbs a massive portion of his physical burst during his flip combo.

Avoid getting flipped by E Disdain! Urgot's dash grants him a shield, flips you over him, and locks on his W Purge. If you sidestep or range out his E, he loses his primary shield and damage setup, leaving him wide open to your Q Obliterate and E Death's Grasp counter-harassment.

Watch his shotgun leg cooldowns! Urgot's passive Echoing Flames fires blasts from whichever side he attacks from. Avoid letting him freely walk around you in circles during trades to prevent him from progging multiple leg bursts.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively during his E Disdain flip or when his R Fear Beyond Death drill lands to absorb his physical damage burst and stay well above his 25% health execute threshold.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Urgot inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Attack Damage and Health. Crucially, the tight arena forces Urgot into point-blank range where he cannot circle you effectively, ensuring your Darkness Rise passive aura and isolated Qs melt his health bar before he can drop you into execute range.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail on your first recall! Plated Steelcaps cut 12% of basic attack damage, while Warden's Mail lowers incoming attack speed and damage from his rapid W Purge machine-gun attacks.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The persistent slow applied by Darkness Rise prevents Urgot from circling around you to proc his shotgun legs or walking away from your melee range.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to rapidly burn through his health pool with percentage-HP damage and true damage conversion during all-ins.

In side-lane split pushing mid-to-late game, you brutally out-duel Urgot. As long as you don't fall behind early, his Black Cleaver armor shred cannot overcome your massive magic DPS in 1v1s.

Vayne, the Night Hunter
Overall difficulty: 5/5
Suggested runes: Fleet Footwork or Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Second Wind, Unflinching
Suggested items: Doran's Shield, Plated Steelcaps, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Randuin's Omen, Thornmail, Zhonya's Hourglass
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Night Hunter movement speed, Q Tumble stealth/dash, W Silver Bolts %max HP true damage, E Condemn wall stun/knockback, R Final Hour stealth/AD buff
A brutal range-counter matchup for Mordekaiser. Vayne's mobility, knockback, invisiblity, and %max HP true damage are tailored to dismantle slow juggernauts, requiring extreme patience, defensive itemization, and precise ability usage to punish her mistakes.

Take Doran's Shield and Second Wind! Vayne will relentlessly harass you with basic attacks from range. This combination keeps your health pool topped off while farming under or near your tower.

Beware of E Condemn positioning! Never path or stand near walls or terrain. If Vayne pins and stuns you against a wall, she can proc multiple W Silver Bolts stacks and heavily chunk or kill you before you can react.

Bait her Q Tumble and E Condemn before engaging! Never open with your E Death's Grasp if her Q or E are off cooldown; she will easily dodge with Tumble or push you away with Condemn, rendering your engage completely useless.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively whenever she goes for 3-ring W Silver Bolts procs or when taking heavy ranged poke to minimize incoming true and physical damage.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION & TRAPS: Do **NOT** cast R Realm of Death blindly if Vayne has R Final Hour available! In the Death Realm, Vayne's R-boosted Q Tumble grants her 1 second of invisibility every few seconds, making it almost impossible to land isolated Q Obliterate hits or basic attacks. Wait out her stealth, use E Death's Grasp to force her Condemn, and trap her inside R only when she has no disengage options left.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail! Plated Steelcaps reduce her basic attack damage and give essential movement speed to bridge the range gap, while Warden's Mail/Bramble cut her attack speed and lifesteal.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! Once you lock onto Vayne with a single ability or basic attack, Rylai's Crystal Scepter paired with Darkness Rise applies a constant slow that prevents her from kiting away.

Follow up with Randuin's Omen and Zhonya's Hourglass. Randuin's active slow significantly reduces her attack speed and crit damage, while Zhonya's lets you stall out her R Final Hour stealth duration during all-ins.

Concede early CS if needed and let the wave bounce toward your tower. Call for your jungler when Vayne overextends—ranged tops with no escape after using E Condemn are extremely vulnerable to ganks.

Volibear, the Relentless Storm
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps or Mercury's Treads, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive The Relentless Storm lightning/AS, Q Thundering Smash stun/MS, W Frenzied Maul wounded mark/heal, E Sky Splitter slow/shield, R Stormbringer tower disable/bonus HP
A tough stat-check juggernaut matchup for Mordekaiser. Volibear has immense early duel potential through shield, bite healing, and stun burst, but you outscale him in long fights if you deny his second W heal and purchase anti-healing early.

Take Bone Plating! Volibear's core trading pattern relies on Q Thundering Smash stun into E Sky Splitter burst. Bone Plating drastically reduces his initial physical and magic combo damage.

Dodge or range out E Sky Splitter! Volibear's E deals massive magic damage and grants him a heavy shield if he stands in it. When you see the circle form on the ground, immediately walk out or save E Death's Grasp to pull him out of his shield zone.

BEWARE THE SECOND W BITE: Volibear's W Frenzied Maul marks you on the first cast. If he bites you a second time while you are marked, the damage increases by 50% and heals him for massive health based on his missing HP. **Disengage or shield before he can land a second W!**

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively right as Volibear goes for his Q stun or second W bite to absorb his highest burst damage points.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Volibear inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his stats, including the bonus HP he gets if he presses R Stormbringer. Ideally, wait for Volibear to cast R Stormbringer first so you steal a portion of his newly buffed maximum health pool!

Rush Bramble Vest or Executioner's Calling on your first recall! Volibear relies heavily on W Frenzied Maul bite healing to win extended brawls. Early Grievous Wounds severely cuts his sustain.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The constant slow applied by your Darkness Rise passive prevents Volibear from closing the distance for second W bites or disengaging once his cooldowns are blown.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker. The continuous percentage-HP burn and true damage conversion allow you to cleanly out-dps his tanky health pool in extended 1v1 fights.

Beware of tower dives at level 6! His ultimate Stormbringer disables turrets, so keep your health bar high and do not over-stay under tower if you are low HP.

Warwick, the Uncaged Wrath ofZaun
Overall difficulty: 3.5/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Eternal Hunger on-hit/healing, Q Jaws of the Beast bite/lunge, W BloodHunt attack speed/movement speed tracking, E Primal Howl damage reduction/fear, R Infinite Duress suppression leap
A terrifying early-game duelist matchup for Mordekaiser. Warwick thrives when enemies try to finish him off at low health due to his massive lifesteal and passive healing, but your scaling magic damage, early anti-healing, and ultimate out-duel him in the mid-to-late game.

Take Bone Plating! Warwick's early trade relies on Q Jaws of the Beast and basic attack bursts. Bone Plating significantly absorbs his initial physical trade damage.

Never greed for kills on low-health Warwick! Warwick's passive Eternal Hunger drastically increases his healing when he drops below 50% health. Many top-lane Warwicks take Barrier; do not fall for the bait thinking you can finish him without Grievous Wounds.

Watch out for his Q hold! Warwick's Q Jaws of the Beast allows him to latch onto you and follow your movement, flashes, or dashes. If you try to flash away during his Q hold, he will teleport right with you.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively during his E Primal Howl damage reduction window or when he leaps in with R Infinite Duress to mitigate his burst.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Warwick inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his stats and isolates him from targets he can track with W BloodHunt. Crucially, if Warwick tries to cast R Infinite Duress inside the Death Realm, save your E Death's Grasp or position yourself so he cannot lock you down easily, then melt his health bar with isolated Qs and Darkness Rise.

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Steelcaps cut his basic attack damage, while Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds to heavily reduce his passive healing and Q lifesteal.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The constant slow from Darkness Rise keeps Warwick at bay, preventing him from sticking to you when his W attack speed steroid is active.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to burn through his health pool safely from medium-close range.

Respect his terrifying level 1 and 2 power spikes. Play safe, secure farm with Q Obliterate, and wait for your item spikes before attempting extended 1v1 fights.

Wukong, the Monkey King
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Stone Skin armor/regeneration, Q Crushing Blow auto reset/armor shred, W Warrior Trickster stealth clone, E Nimbus Strike dash, R Cyclone double-spin knockup
A favorable skirmisher matchup for Mordekaiser. Wukong relies on early physical trades, armor stacking from his passive, and stealth clone outplays, but your persistent magic damage aura, armor rush, and stat-stealing ultimate completely overwhelm him in extended fights.

Take Bone Plating! Wukong's early trades typically begin with E Nimbus Strike into Q Crushing Blow. Bone Plating absorbs a significant portion of his initial physical burst.

Watch out for his W Warrior Trickster clone! Wukong leaves a decoy and turns invisible to dodge abilities. Do **not** waste your Q Obliterate or E Death's Grasp on his stationary clone—stay patient, watch where he actually moves, and punish him after his invisibility ends.

Respect his Stone Skin passive and Conqueror stacks! Wukong gains bonus armor and health regeneration the longer he stays in combat. Avoid taking overly extended auto-attack brawls early before you have completed items.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively when he initiates with R Cyclone to absorb his double-cast knockup and spin damage.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Wukong inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Attack Damage and Health. Crucially, the tight Death Realm limits his escape paths. If he uses W Warrior Trickster inside the arena, your Darkness Rise passive aura will easily reveal his true position by burning him while he's invisible!

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest on your first recall! Plated Steelcaps reduce his basic attack and Q damage, while Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds to cut his passive health regeneration and sustain.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The constant slow applied by Darkness Rise prevents Wukong from kiting away or repositioning easily with W Warrior Trickster.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to rapidly melt his health pool with percentage-HP burn and true damage conversion during all-ins.

Play around your cooldowns during the laning phase. Once you acquire your core AP items and level up your ultimate, you out-scale Wukong completely in 1v1 side-lane duels.

Yasuo, theUnforgiven
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Way of the Wanderer shield, Q Steel Tempest tornado, W Wind Wall projectile block, E Sweeping Blade dash, R Last Breath armor penetration/suspension
A highly favorable skirmisher matchup for Mordekaiser. Yasuo relies heavily on minion mobility, critical strikes, and projectile blocking, but your non-projectile spells, massive AP sustain, and stat-stealing ultimate completely shut him down.

Take Bone Plating! Yasuo's early trades typically involve E-Q dashes through minions. Bone Plating drastically mitigates his initial physical trade burst.

WIND WALL DOES NOT BLOCK YOUR KIT! Yasuo's W Wind Wall blocks projectiles, but Mordekaiser's Q Obliterate, E Death's Grasp, and R Realm of Death are **not** projectiles! Do not worry about Wind Wall—you can freely smash and pull him right through it.

Pop his passive shield before trading! Yasuo's Way of the Wanderer passive grants him a dynamic shield when moving or casting. Tap him with a basic attack or a minor spell to break his shield before committing your main Q Obliterate damage.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively during his Q3 tornado or when he all-ins to absorb his physical burst.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Yasuo inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Attack Damage and Health. Crucially, pulling Yasuo into the Death Realm **completely removes him from minion waves**, stripping away his E Sweeping Blade mobility and leaving him completely helpless against your Darkness Rise passive aura!

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail! Plated Steelcaps reduce basic attack damage, while Warden's Mail and Bramble cut his critical strike damage and lifesteal from items like Blade of the Ruined King.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The persistent slow applied by Darkness Rise prevents Yasuo from dancing around you with E dashes.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, and Randuin's Omen. Randuin's Omen active slow and critical damage reduction completely neuters his late-game carry potential.

In side-lane split pushing mid-to-late game, you easily dominate Yasuo. Force isolated 1v1s with your ultimate where he has no minions to outplay you with.

Yone, theUnforgotten
Overall difficulty: 2/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Randuin's Omen
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Way of the Hunter double crit, Q Mortal Steel tornado thrust, W Spirit Cleave shield/poke, E Soul Unbound spirit form dash, R Fate Sealed blink knockup
A favorable skirmisher matchup for Mordekaiser. Yone relies on mobile dashes, critical strikes, and his E Soul Unbound poke pattern, but your non-projectile magic damage, massive sustain, and stat-stealing ultimate completely punish his aggressive positioning.

Take Bone Plating! Yone's early trades typically rely on Q Mortal Steel stacks and basic attack quick bursts. Bone Plating absorbs a massive chunk of his initial physical trade damage.

Respect his E Soul Unbound return! Yone dashes forward in spirit form, deals damage, and snaps back to his starting location. Do not commit your major cooldowns or Q Obliterate while he is actively trading in spirit form—wait for him to snap back, then punish his arrival point.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively when he engages with Q3 tornado or R Fate Sealed to absorb his physical burst.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Yone inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his Attack Damage and Health. Crucially, pulling Yone into the Death Realm cuts off his positioning options; time your ultimate carefully around his E Soul Unbound spirit cast to ensure he cannot cleanly escape your Darkness Rise passive burn!

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail! Plated Steelcaps reduce his basic attack damage, while Warden's Mail and Bramble cut his critical strike scaling and lifesteal from items like Blade of the Ruined King.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The persistent slow applied by Darkness Rise keeps Yone glued to you, preventing him from kiting or spacing away with his mobility.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, and Randuin's Omen. Randuin's Omen heavily mitigates his double-crit scaling from passive Way of the Hunter and Infinity Edge spikes.

In the mid-to-late game side-lane, you heavily out-duel Yone once your AP items are completed. Force isolated 1v1s where his mobility has less room to outplay you.

Yorick, the Shepherd of Lost Souls
Overall difficulty: 3/5
Suggested runes: Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, Last Stand, Bone Plating, Revitalize
Suggested items: Plated Steelcaps, Bramble Vest/ Thornmail, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker
Key Abilities and combos to beware of: Passive Shepherd of Souls graves/ghouls, Q Last Rites auto reset/heal, W Dark Procession wall cage, E Mourning Mist ghoul leap mark, R Eulogy of the Isles Maiden of the Mist
A favorable juggernaut matchup for Mordekaiser. Yorick relies heavily on split-pushing pressure, summoned ghouls, and his Maiden, but your persistent AoE magic damage, armor items, and stat-stealing ultimate let you melt him and his pets down completely.

Take Bone Plating! Yorick's early trades and Q Last Rites auto-attacks pack a heavy physical punch. Bone Plating absorbs a massive portion of his initial trade burst.

Clear his graves and ghouls! Yorick's laning strength depends entirely on whether he has graves set up and Mist Walkers active. Use your Q Obliterate to clear his ghouls quickly before committing to extended trades.

Watch out for his W Dark Procession wall! Yorick traps you inside a circular wall cage. Stay calm, use your basic attacks or multi-target spells to break the wall segments if necessary, and avoid panic-flashing unless critical.

Use your W Indestructible shield reactively when he all-ins with ghouls and Q Last Rites to absorb his physical burst.

ULTIMATE INTERACTION: Trapping Yorick inside R Realm of Death steals 10% of his stats and temporarily pauses his split-push pressure. While Yorick's Eulogy of the Isles Maiden enters the Death Realm with him, your Darkness Rise passive aura and Liandry's Torment burn down both Yorick and his Maiden simultaneously, making short work of them in the spirit realm!

Rush Plated Steelcaps and an early Bramble Vest or Warden's Mail! Plated Steelcaps reduce his basic attack and Q damage, while Bramble Vest applies Grievous Wounds to cut his Q Last Rites self-healing.

Build Rylai's Crystal Scepter as your core first completed item! The constant slow from Darkness Rise ensures that Yorick and his ghouls can never kite or run away from you.

Follow up with Liandry's Torment and Riftmaker to shred through his health pool and his summoned Maiden with max-health burn and true damage conversion.

In the mid-to-late game, match his side-lane push when necessary or group with your team. Mordekaiser thrives far more in teamfights where your high-impact ultimate removes key targets, while Yorick is forced to answer your pressure or watch his team crumble.
